Whether you're building your first system or replacing some burned-out factory speakers, Rockford Fosgate's Prime speakers offer clean, powerful performance that'll keep you and your friends rockin' as you drive. Plus, Prime speakers are a great way to get Rockford Fosgate sound quality without destroying your bank account.
The Prime R1675-S component speaker system sports stiff mica-injected 6-3/4" polypropylene woofers that deliver strong drums and bass, along with clean reproduction of the midrange frequencies. The separate Mylar tweeters add the excitement of strong high-frequency response to your music without a trace of harshness. Built-in crossover networks divide the frequencies going to each driver, so all your music plays faithfully. Grilles are included.
Note: The oversized terminals on these speakers won't connect to a Crutchfield wiring harness. A free 10-pack of female quick slides that you can splice onto our harness will be included with your speaker purchase.
Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.

Installed in my 2011 Camaro RS and it blows the stock speakers away! Best investment I have done in a while!
Phenomenal entry level component system. Great sound at a great price.
Pros: Great sound at a great price
Way better than factory
Pros: Sound quality
Cons: Doesn't exactly fit for factory replacement will have to modify
Great sound and performance for the price. Needs to. Come with better brackets though.
Pros: Great sound and performance.
Cons: Needs to come with better mounting brackets. Needed to modify the ones I got and added a wood surround so it would fit right.
Decent speaker for the price. Maybe on par with the factory speakers (before they dry rotted) in my Toyota Tundra. Installation challenging due to the speakers not fitting the mounting brackets that Crutchfield supplied (not sure if the misfit was due to the speaker or the bracket). Other than that pretty straightforward to install.
Pros: Inexpensive, fine for factory system
Cons: Only average bass response
Installed at the front door and dash location of a 2014 Silverado Z71 with non Bose 8" stereo package with a Kicker VSS sub upgrade. Installed RF Punch in the rear doors of the crew cab same day. Component tweeters I'd prefer to have a better mounting option with brackets or pods, but created a perfectly centered and solid mount in the cavity left by the stock tweeters. Other than this small problem, I couldn't be more happy with the resulting sound and clarity produced with the whole RF setup and Kicker provided bass.
Pros: Reasonable price for great upgrade
Easy installation, much richer sound but head unit is not changed and this is next
Pros: easy installation, sound better with factory receiver
A solid clean sounding set of affordable separates.
Pros: Clean crisp sound in mids and highs. Build quality seems good. Grills are handsome even though I didn't use them.
Cons: Low end response could use more punch. Ideal for a car with a separate sub. Wiring rear speakers needs a soldering iron or a way to tie multiple junctions together.
Wow, these speaker are such a huge improvement over the OE speakers. I ran out of time and ran my new radio for a few days with the stock speakers before I could replace them. I wasn't impressed with the radio, initially, but it turns out that the speakers were just too worn out to do it justice. These speakers are an economical upgrade.
Pros: Way better sound than OE speakers
Frankly, my singing was better than the OEM speakers, but these were a better option (for my wife's ears). My advice is to not get these if you do not have the ability to adjust the EQ - those little guys will burst your eardrums with their highs! All in all, I'm happy with the purchase and would have given them a 5/5, if it weren't for the diminished mids;
Pros: Cheap, easy to install, and great sound with some tweaking
Cons: Diminished mids and highs are a bit too high, but can be adjusted to (mostly) accommodate this
Very pleased with the end result, although there were some challenges with the install. One of the tweeters had a wire that was barely connected to the terminal and it came apart during the install. I decided to solder it instead of doing a return, and it worked out. The tweeters were tricky to mount in the door of my S2000, which was clearly noted by Crutchfield, but I bought them anyway due to the positive reviews. But the work was worth it; they sound excellent.
Pros: Decent bass. Clean, clear sound. Great price too. The ratings tell the story.
Cons: Tweeters were tricky to install.
These Rockford Fosgate speakers are a significant upgrade over my factory speakers. To be fair, that is not saying much as they were 17 years old and one of the speakers (driver side door) was blown. Installation took me quite a while because I had never done it before and taking the door panels off took some time. Now that I have done it, it will go much quicker the next time. I did encounter a snag with the speakers not fitting the bracket that came with my vehicle. However, I removed the bracket and mountyed the speakers right into the steel of the door with ease. Crutchfield's directions and phone tech support were AMAZING!!! I called a few times with questions as I worked on the installation and they were always prompt, courteous and thorough. They walked me through everything and even have access to information about my car's factory original wiring configuration. This proved invaluable with my tweeter installation On that note, that is one watch out. If you opt for separates (a separate tweeter location, which was stock for my vehicle and does help better direct the high frequencies), be prepared for some challenges with location, placement and possible custom fabrication. I am still working through some aesthetic challenges with my tweeters, but it is worth it for the sound upgrade and I will take my time to make it look as nice as possible. Do know that bass is limited. A separate sub and/or higher end speakers will give you more, but I am pleased.
Pros: Good sound. Excellent build quality. Built-in cross-over adds to ease of installation. Excellent instructions. Amazing Crutchfield tech support
Cons: Bass is limited and gets muddy if pushed.
easy to install, sound so much better than previous speakers, wish budget allowed for more power and louder capability speakers, but excellent sound for the money
Pros: price, performance
They have a good mid range and bass and better than coaxial speakers. I had some Kicker 6 3/4 good clarity but the sound was low . I haven't replaced my factory tweeters but I'm about soon since my drivers side is blown and my passenger side is about to go out after installing these speakers and testing them out
Pros: Better sound than coaxial speakers and component speakers is the way to go if your vehicle already equipped with them
Cons: you will have to drill into your door shell to mount this speakers and tweeters in the door panel if you don't want to run the line up to front pillars to replace
Easy to install and a perfect fit! I was able to cutout the factory tweeter panels and replace them with the Rockford Fosgate grills for a GREAT look! Other than those little tweeter grills there are is no other way to know that I have aftermarket speakers so it is a very nice stock looking installation. The connections were simple with no issues. I did have to spend some money for some mounting hardware in order for me to use the Universal Mounting Strips that Crutchfield sells but that's for another review. The speakers perform great and have made me very happy!
Pros: Great Sound Easy Installation Great Look
Cons: Speakers did not fit Crutchfield supplied brackets. Had to do some modifications to get a decent fit. I blame that on the bracket not the speaker.
The speakers themselves are very good. I got them "scratch and dent" and honestly I could not find a problem with them - nothing missing that I needed, even still wrapped in plastic. The sound is very good for a more inexpensive speaker. Bass is significantly better than OEM, tweeters slightly less so but still very good. Many complaints about the bass but I find it fine for what I listen to. Clarity is good and they handle volume from the factory stereo well. I don't have an amp but may get one in the future. I put in some soundproofing as well and I would highly recommend doing so when installing these. The installation instructions provided were helpful but the install proved too much for an amateur like me. I planned on spending 2-3 hours on the whole project and after that time barely had one door done. After several broken panel clips, and lacking proper screws to fit the adapter bracket to the door (plus the fact that I had inadvertently tripped off the hybrid system when I disconnected the battery so the car wouldn't start afterwards) I called my mechanic. I just didn't have the time to put in to this project that I thought I did. Would I buy these again? Yes. Look at the OEM speakers and you'll laugh. But I would definitely say lesson learned on the install. If you are doing it yourself and new to installing speakers and removing/replacing trim panels take your time and plan on a whole day, possibly a weekend, along with a few trips to the local hardwa
Pros: - good sound - "scratch and dent" deal was great - significant improvement over the OEM speakers
Cons: - installation time consuming and frustrating
The speaker install with associated brackets went as advertised. The sound is comparable to the stock speakers, as the existing headend was utilized. Overall a good replacement for the stock speakers.
Pros: Price Brackets and wiring harnesses made installation a snap
This is an absolute slam dunk for a factory replacement speaker. These get the job done and are a noticeable improvement over the paper cones that they replace. The mids and highs are much, much improved and so much easier to listen to at the volumes you need during regular driving speeds.
Pros: Just a smart move to improve your listening pleasure during your daily driving.
Cons: For their use, there are no cons.
An outstanding improvement to the factory base stereo for very little investment in time and money. The Rockford mids alone are at least three times heavier than the cheaply constructed originals, and addition of tweeters really opened up the sound. Big improvement in bass as well without boominess.
Pros: An inexpensive and relatively easy install, and the first step for further improvements
Cons: Speaker manual is a little vague on some key issues, example, how do you remove the tweeters from the flush mounts and install them in the surface mounts?
Very satisfied with this purchase. Great sound, fantastic price, and high quality.
Pros: Price, sound, quality
great price on killer sounding system. installed with my stock stereo and sounds so much better than those stock speakers.
Pros: direct fit in stock locations. great price.
Cons: having to install them myself but i could have taken them to a professional and paid for installation.
These speakers a great. They were a tight fit, but they sound great.
Pros: Great clarity even when not amped.
Cons: A tight fit Instal for a malibu
Great sound, great price
Pros: Very nice sound and as always great Crutchfield support.
I installed my 1st pair of Rockford Fosgate speakers in 1988 in my wife's 1984 Accord. Always love the punch that they delivered. Great to see that that has not changed. Very good tweeter response as well!
excellent speakers for the price
Cons: could use a little bit more bass
Huge improvement over stock, I liked the tweeter mounting options. Easy to install and good clarity and imaging with these inexpensive speakers
Pros: Stock head unit is powerful enough to drive
Cons: They need more low end.
Installed in front doors of 2014 Elantra sedan. Powered by Fosgate R600X5 amp. Mid-Bass is very good, highs are crisp.
Pros: Sound quality is great. Good value
Cons: Top mount only and tension ring "keepers" to hold the tweeters in place limit install options- may have to get creative if space is limited.
Speakers sound great, still have them attached to the factory head unit and they are a huge improvement over factory speakers, the tweeters are not easy to install in the 2015 kia forte because of the confined area but definitely some good speakers
Pros: Sound great
Sounds crappie running off factory deck you will need a small am for these.
Pros: Good name brand
Cons: Not good just running over factory deck.
I put these in my 07' Tacoma in the front doors behind a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X798. along with Rockford Fosgate Prime R1675X2 in the rear doors. Sound is GREAT!! I used the Crutchfield supplied mounting brackets that I had to modify a bit to mount the speakers. One in the brackets mounting to the door was easy. Your not going to get bone jarring base out of these but they do have nice bass and great sound. Looking at getting another set to put in my 02' crew Chevy.
Replaced my factory speakers in a new 2014 Ford Focus SE 6-speaker setup. Had these professionally installed with baffles on the woofers, keeping the factory stereo. Significant upgrade over factory speakers. These speakers exceeded my expectations.
Pros: Cost, brand reputation.
great sounding speakers
Pros: great sound, good price
Great sounding speakers. You cannot beat the price for these incredible highs and mids. Bass is exactly what you'd expect for 6.5's. Would recommend to anyone. After I installed them the guy who helped me immediately asked so how much did you pay for these? I imagine he'll have them soon too.
Pros: Sound, Price and Quality of Materials
I personaly like these speakers, they have great bass and sound very clear. As always great technical help from Crutchfield.
Sounds decent, bought these for my 11 tahoe front doors and oem tweeter location, but someone at Crutchfield messed up with information, info page on page lists tweeter at 1/2", when actual measurement is 1 1/2in, with mount it's 1 7/8in
Cons: Tweeter sizeCrutchfield response on June 18, 2014 The listed tweeter size is the manufacturer's listing for the diameter of the actual tweeter dome inside the plastic housing. The real mounting dimensions are listed on the Details tab of the speaker's webpage. In this case it is a whopping 1.83" cutout for flush mounting, 2.125" flush mount frame diameter, 1.815" surface mount frame diameter. Installing tweeters is almost always a custom job. If these don't work out, don't forget about our 60-day money-back guarantee.
I REPLACED THE FACTORY FRONT DOOR SPEAKERS IN MY 2011 HYUNDAI ELANTRA AND WOW! THESE SPEAKERS SOUND GREAT, REALLY CLEAN HIGHS AND GOOD BASS.
Pros: GREAT SOUND
Very good quality speakers at a good price.
Pros: Very clear and big improvement over stock
I blew the front driver side speaker in my wife's Acura TL. I went to a local place and they showed me these. I couldn't be happier. My wife heard them and had to get the rears replaced. Acura's have an issues with the speakers in 2009 these are a great replacement.
Pros: Everything is a pro good highs and good lows
Cons: None I can think of!
I bought these speakers to replace my factory speakers in my 01 Ram Pickup and was very happy with the clarity of the speakers. I had an aftermarket clarion head unit to begin with so I could easily compare the sound from factory to then Rockford speakers after the install and it was worth every penny. I'll be the first to admit the head unit is arguably the biggest dictator in sound clarity but even with a very modest head unit, these speakers perform well above their price tag. Overall, very happy with purchase and would recommend to anyone!
Great sound. Good highs and bass
Pros: very good sounding for a very nice price
Cons: Have to make brackets to fit
crisp full sound needed for jeep wrangler
Pros: easy install
Cons: little more bass needed
A huge improvement over my stock speakers (2010 Toyota Tundra), the sound is clear I would highly recommend this set.
I was impressed by these component speakers and especially for their price! Better sound than a pair that I bought for a similar setup costing almost twice as much.. I am running them off a Blaupunkt head unit using its built-in amp. I bought this set for the rear as a test and will definitely be buying another set (though may have to get a smaller diameter) for the fronts.
Pros: GREAT price, includes all wiring and multi- tweeter mounting options.
Sound good need small amp or good radio for these stock radio no good
Pros: easy to install good speaker for price
I blew my budget getting a much nicer head unit than I intended, so had to bargin shop for my speakers. I am very impressed with the product! My 1996 4runner comes with 5 1/2 " door speakers with seperate tweeters mounted atop the door. I was excited to know that these were A) direct fit and B) 6 3/4". I expected better base from these compared to stock but they are only marginally better. Tweeters are so close to mounting perfectly without any modifications. But a few minutes of altering and they fit great. I would buy these again for the price as the overall sound quality is vastly superior to stock.
Pros: Price, sound quality, and ease of install.

Mica Injected Polypropylene Woofers: The woofer cones are mica injected polypropylene. This material is light weight and rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.
Tweeter: The 1/2" Mylar tweeters are a balanced dome design. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter. Out of the box, the tweeters are mounted in the flush mount housings. An angled surface mount housing is also included, and the back of the the flush mount housing and the top of the angled surface mount housing are combined to make the (non-angled) surface mount housing. Once mounted, the tweeters swivel so you can direct them toward the listening positions.

There is a built in crossover on the speaker itself. I have a pair in the front doors and they sound awesome! Clear highs and low lows with great mid range too. [ Eric May 05, 2016 ]
It uses a high pass filter in place of an actual crossover. In my vehicle, they sound fantastic at low and mid volumes. At high volumes they're too bright and tire my ears. I have the same head unit with some jbl's in my other vehicle and I can listen at high volume all day. The "low" end is very good and would be better with some more juice. I'm putting in 20w rms. [ Lee May 04, 2016 ]
Frank, I bought these speakers long ago enough that I don't remember. The car I put them in is a 2014 Ford Focus, which already had woofers and tweeters (front doors only) in separate locations, so I assume there was already a crossover in the car. I can't be sure. I also don't remember buying a separate crossover. Lastly, I figured I would screw the whole deal up so I had them installed at a car stereo jawn. [ John May 04, 2016 ]
They worked fine for me yeah. [ Brady w. May 04, 2016 ]
