Easy to use and great buy

Matt from Quincy ca on 4/20/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Amazing little device, it adds the functionality that I require with such ease. Comes with a short coiled aux cord which worked perfect in my subaru tribes (which has two 12v outlets with the auxiliary port in the middle and it's all stuffed in the center console)

Pros: Simple plug and play

Cons: None

Allowed me to finally play music from cell phone via bluetooth

APowers from Southbridge, MA on 7/12/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

However playing music via bluetooth on the Equinox LS was so cumbersome that I traded in my new vehicle for a RAV4. Hard to believe Chevrolet sold a model with only AM, FM and Sirius FM (no bluetooth).

HK Bluetooth with power from cig lighter

cc8411 from Sikeston, MO on 6/22/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy as pie to hook up. Plugs in the aux input and a power plug for cig lighter in glove box, funky design by MB on this, but it works great. It could not be any better. I love it. Very little sound reduction to the music. I like it. Took like 30 seconds to set up.

Pros: Easy, cheap, works great, remembers up to 5 phones or whatever has bluetooth

Cons: a little background noise but it is an aux cord

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product works great Easy to install & easy to pair Also it remembers once paired Cannot answer calls but was not looking for that Wanted easy way to wireless via Bluetooth connect phone or pad to truck stereo This product does that easily and sound quality is good too. And if phone rings it allows call to be answered using other Bluetooth device Highly recommend-would definitely buy it again.

Pros: Easy to install Easy to pair Good sound Simple to operate Met all my needs & expectations

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Love the feature of this product that turns itself on and off when car is turned on and off. Most Bluetooth devices that allow AUX ports to be Bluetooth compatible must be powered on and off manually.

Pros: Auto On/Off

Rockford Fosgate RFBTAUX

Jose from Nogales, AZ on 4/25/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Since my BMW does not come with a Bluetooth feature, I wanted a simple device that would allow me to play Pandora stations from iPhone without the burden of having it connected to a wire. This little device is very practical and simple to synchronize with my phone. I am very happy with my purchase

Pros: Practical, easy to connect, reliable

Cons: I noticed a slight deterioration on sound quality. But this is probably just natural on all Bluetooth devices and not particular to this device.

Brilliant car stereo upgrade for older cars

Swami from Blacklick, OH on 1/31/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Rockford Fosgate blue tooth adapter provides the functionality of bluetooth and USB port for older cars that don't have these built in. This adapter allows you to untether your phone and stream audio via bluetooth through your car stereo. Setup entails plugging device into cigarette lighter socket and connecting it with the provided cable into the auxiliary port. A USB port in the device provides an outlet to charge your phone in place of having a dedicated phone charger. After trying this product in one vehicle, I was so pleased that I purchased a another one for our second car.

Pros: Well designed. Easy installation and setup. USB port replaces car charger.

Cons: None.

Blue Tooth for Old School Rides!

SteveW from Kentucky on 9/17/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a clever device. I was originally looking at blue tooth add-ons that featured hands-free calling, but what I really wanted was the ability to stream music from my phone. This unit does that quite well. It connects easily to my phone and initial set-up took only minutes. The unit also has a port to charge my phone, which I really needed. Downfall? Lots of alternator noise picked up. If the music's loud, the alternator whine is hardly noticeable. Otherwise, be prepared to deal with the noisy whine.

Pros: Easy to use, reasonably priced.

Cons: Coil-y cord that connects between the RFBTAUX and your head unit is ugly and short. Alternator noise can be heard.

Perfect Solution

Mike R from Colorado on 1/31/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After driving a rental with bluetooth music streaming I started looking for options to upgrade the factory stereo in my LR3. After passing on several very expensive options I found this Rockford Fosgate bluetooth adapter. For less than $50 I thought I would give it a try. Turns out to be the best money I've spent. The adapter works perfectly, and the sound is much better than using an aux cord. I couldn't be happier.

Pros: Super easy to set up and use. Connects automatically every time I get in the car.

Cons: None.

Fits my application perfectly

Jim D. from SE Michigan on 5/26/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this device to replace a damaged HTC 2200 Bluetooth adapter and the Rockford Fosgate RFBTAUX is much better. I like to listen to podcasts I download to my Samsung S4 while driving and this product is perfect. The HTC sticks out from the aux input jack on the radio with is why it was how it was damaged, I had to remember to turn it off when exiting the car, and it was only usable on battery because it has a buzzing sound when plugged into the charger. The Rockford Fosgate RFBTAUX is powered directly off the car battery thus it turns off when the car is shut off. Since it runs off the car power I can use for extended driving, the HTC would die after a few hours. No trouble paring and it has always connected automatically every time I entered the car. No complaints with the audio quality. Audio cable is just the right length for my vehicle.

Pros: Plug in in, pair it and forget it.

Cons: None

Works good

Anonymous from Central Wisconsin on 5/20/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Once your Bluetooth device connects to it, it works great. On iphone5 I have to go into Settings>Bluetooth>find the "RFBTAUX" device, then go to the little information bubble, forget this device, then it says "RFBTAUX not paired", tap on it to pair & it will connect. This has to be done every time the car is turned off & then back on to reconnect. It would be nice if it would auto connect like my vehicles hands free does, but that's my only con

Pros: Works great once connected Has USB port to charge device

Cons: Doesn't auto connect to Bluetooth, has to be reconnected every time the car gets shut off.

Q & A

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

Good reviews [ Daniel  May 04, 2017 ]
I am intrigued by the auto on/off feature, its ability to remember the paired device, and that it allows additional charging from the charging port. I hope this device is as advertised... My 2008 vehicle has built-in Bluetooth for phone calls, but not music. Now I have both. [ shane  Oct 17, 2016 ]
Great price and has the features I need. [ John  Apr 17, 2016 ]
It was simple and exactly what I was looking for [ Joseph  Dec 16, 2015 ]
I bought one this summer and it works fantastic. Bought two more for Christmas gifts. Always excellent service and prices from Crutchfield. [ Brian  Dec 08, 2015 ]

5 questions already asked

I only synced one device. It worked fine for 3 months then it died on me [ Francisco  Jan 08, 2015 ]
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it only pairs to one device at a time. However, there's no code to enter when pairing to phone, so it's quick and easy to do. [ Gregory  Jan 08, 2015 ]
There is no limit. After you sync a device it will remember it each time that device connects. It allows one device to be connected at a time. If you are connected and one of your daughters wants to connect basically turn off your bluetooth, then one of them can connect. [ Trevor  Jan 08, 2015 ]
Sounds great to me but know that my ears have been subjected to 'elevated' volume levels in my younger years (ELO, Moody Blues, Boston, Pink Floyd...) [ LINC  Jan 09, 2017 ]
works great for me. sound is very clear. [ Bryan  Feb 03, 2015 ]
Sound quality is great (for both music and news/talk/sports streaming radio). [ GEOFFREY  Dec 30, 2014 ]
sounds good but mine burned up after a few weeks I would not buy it again since it was a waste to me and my check book [ JASON  Dec 29, 2014 ]
I can't give an opinion on HD sound, but I believe the overall sound quality is great. Used for streaming music from my phone. [ Kevin  Dec 28, 2014 ]
Grrrrreat [ phin  Dec 28, 2014 ]
I am quite pleased with the performance of the Fosgate unit. I've recommended it to friends. [ David  Dec 28, 2014 ]
We can be 30 feet from the receiver and get excellent reception. The quality of your speakers and receiver will have more to do with sound quality than this unit. We have experienced no loss of sound quality. We have been using ours on a boat. [ MIchael  Dec 28, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: If you have the standard 4 speaker radio system in your Lincoln you can add-on a Bluetooth adapter like the Parrot Mki9100 which will then support hands-free calling and wireless audio streaming from a smart phone. The Parrot model does not work on the Lincoln LS models that have navigation or the premium 12 speaker system. At that point you would be looking at a radio replacement to gain the extra features to play music from your phone. I would highly recommend calling in to us and we can go over all the options with you. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Sep 16, 2014 ]  Staff
You push the button/light on the plug in and it begins flashing. Once it begins flashing it will show up on your iphone bluetooth devices list. Then you just click on it to connect. [ Michael  Aug 07, 2014 ]
After you plug it into power it should show on your bluetooth device as RFBTAUX. The device has a blue light above the USB and you can push it to "pair" with your device. I've used it on a boat for 2 weeks and it does what it should. Handy. [ Christopher  Aug 06, 2014 ]
If you have it plugged into a always powered outlet then yes, if the power goes off when the ignition is turned off, then you will have to push the blue button to connect. [ Barry  Aug 06, 2014 ]
This device only offers blue tooth. I supposed you could hear the call through your speakers, but it doesn't have a mic, so I don't know that hands-free would work. I'm only using it for blue tooth music to my car radio. [ Bryan  Jul 21, 2014 ]
Nope. Just audio streaming. [ GERALD  Jul 19, 2014 ]
No, it doesn't. From my iPhone, it streams my music, but not calls or Siri. I wish I'd asked that question before I bought it. Still, it does a perfect job of streaming audio. Less useful for the car, more useful for, say, a boat.. [ Bradley  Jul 19, 2014 ]
I only use this for streaming music but since there isn't a microphone I'm not sure how you could use this for hands free calling. Works great for streaming music. [ MIchael  Jul 19, 2014 ]
No-it is dedicated to streaming audio. It does a great job! [ David  Jul 19, 2014 ]
I use this on my motorcycle, so as such, I haven't tried that... [ Ray  Jul 19, 2014 ]
Unfortunately, it does not answer calls. That was the reason that I purchased it. [ Don  Jul 19, 2014 ]
