Control both home entertainment components and home automation devices from your smartphone (smartphone not included).

Intuitive control through the Harmony App

Harmony's free app is available to both iPhone® and Android™ users. And you can install the app on as many smartphones and tablets as you like, to have multiple controllers throughout your home. Swipe your phone's touchscreen to change from one component's control panel to the next. You can also group commands together under one-touch activity icons for both entertainment and home automation control.

Tap "Watch Movie" for example, and the app automatically turns on your TV, receiver, and Blu-ray player — whatever combination is required to make it work in your system. Select “Good Morning,” and your Lutron-controlled blinds open and lights turns on, and your bedroom stereo system starts playing music.

Control devices behind closed doors

The Harmony Hub connects to your home Wi-Fi® network and converts signals from your portable device into infrared (IR) signals your components can understand. This handy low-profile hub comes with an infrared mini-blaster so you can control a component stored behind closed cabinet doors.

Easy setup

Simple, guided setup has always been a big part of Harmony's success. Just download the free MyHarmony software to your Mac or PC. Then connect the Harmony Hub to it via the provided USB cable. MyHarmony will help you program your remote by asking some simple questions about your system and how you use it. It then downloads the commands and command sequences. And you can use MyHarmony to update your remote whenever you upgrade your system with new gear.

Logitech Harmony Home Hub

Greg from Anoka, MN on 11/1/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like the convenience but user ability is not the best. When you exit the app and return you have to power everything off and back on to get all the functions to work

Pros: convenient

Cons: not all that user friendly

Could be SO much better!

Carlos from Arlington, TX on 10/20/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased both the Harmony Hub and Yamaha R-S700 Dual Zone receiver from Crutchfield. The second zone of the receiver can be controlled independently from the main and it is wired to the whole house audio system. I thought it would be great to use my phone or iPad to control the home audio volume and input where ever I was in the house. This was not possible with the Yamaha IR remotes. Now the problems; - While the Logitech data base shows the Yamaha R-S700 receiver, it does not contain any of the functionality for controlling the second Zone. - When you use the data base it populates the display with many buttons that are not on your remote. - You would think the software would at least allow you to delete undesired remote buttons. No you can add but not subtract. Only possible if you also buy the remote - If you add a button you don't want your only option is to delete the device entirely and start over. - Due to a bug in the software I cannot even delete a device, needed to call Logi support and have them do it remotely. - Hub loses connection with wifi frequently. - Called Logi help desk twice. First person I spoke with was clueless, the second at least had the answers although due to the Logi software not her knowledge the answers were of little help. Don't understand the number of good reviews unless having a remote to program the Hub is the key.

Pros: Price.

Cons: Clumsy user interface, loses connection frequently, user support tries to help but poor product design prevents resolution of problems.

Tech no help.

Patrick from Jupiter, FL on 6/23/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Service from tech was no help, did not know one thing about how to set up or what to do, but send it back. I have bought a lot of different products from Crutchfield most are great products but I have called tech support a few times and each had about the same answer don't know connect company who made it. If you have a tech department they should know the products they sell, I would not make a big deal of this but it happens to often when you call tech.

Pros: Works great.

Cons: Crutchfield did not know how to set up as a replacement hub. Support for product was send it back don't know how to help or call Logitech for help.I did call Logitech and luckily they knew how, fix and what to do. I would think Crutchfield should have some knowledge of a product they sell.

Crutchfield response on 7/3/2017 Thanks for the review. Our Tech Support team goes to great lengths to stay in touch with the latest tech, trends, and gear - especially when we carry the products. For quality control purposes, we reviewed this tech support call. After a thorough conversation, our technician gave his informed opinion, but suggested contacting Logitech for the definitive answer. Both people on the call seemed to think that was a good idea.

Cool Tech

Bert from Middlebury, VT on 2/19/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

L'm a sucker for cool tech things, and this fit the bill as I bought it to pair with my Amazon Dot. The pairing involves two separate Harmony skills, but set up went more easily than some reviewers had predicted. I can now control my entire entertainment center with Alexa. I already had a Harmony remote and was easily able to transfer all of my settings to the hub through the MyHarmony app.

Harmony Hub with iPad

Jeff from Latham, NY on 2/5/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have owned a number of Logitech Remote Control products over the years and the Harmony Hub is certainly the best offering so far. I found the setup straight forward as well as the ability to edit devices and activities. I communicate with the Harmony Hub with an iPad tablet and the response time is good. I have had to edit very few commands for "fine tuning". I am currently controlling a Yamaha receiver, Tivo Bolt, Samsung Blue-Ray Player, and Amazon Fire TV.

Pros: Easy Setup Recognizes all of my devices

Cons:

cool little device easy to use. I bought it to integrate my harmony remote with Alexa - likely more useful if you buy more smart home products

Pros: easy setup, small size, works well with Alexa.

Cons: none

Takes some effort to get all the steps the way you want them.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This Harmony Hub replaced an old Harmony remote we had for years. The remote's buttons had gotten worn down and we couldn't see what the buttons were for anymore so I decided to go with the Harmony Hub. The operation is a lot like the old remote, but the upside is that now you have an app that you can put on an iPad and the buttons are Much Bigger!. The Harmony Hub takes a bit of effort to set up, depending on what components you have. Getting some of the steps you might have to add is a bit bothersome. For instance, adding a 10 second delay in between steps is difficult to do unless you build a custom command from scratch. Also, in the case of our smart TV, the Harmony Hub will bring up the Netflix app on the left side of the screen (some of you Visio owners know what I'm talking about) but won't fully open the application, so you have to finish up with the "remote app" on the iPad. We're still working out the bugs to get it play nice with an Amazon Echo. It turns on the TV and receiver fine, but occasionally wants to turn on the DVD player. I'll keep working on it. Bottom line is that the remote on the iPad with the big buttons is great!

Pros: iPad app has nice, big remote with all the functions. Works with all the components I have, so far. Works with Amazon Echo.

Cons: Can be difficult to modify the steps used in turning on/turning off things. Small nit - when using with Amazon Echo you have to say, "Alexa, tell Harmony to..." for everything. It just gets repetitive.

Bought this for my 91 year old mother who has trouble switching inputs on her TV. Setup was easy, and integration with Echo works well. Now my mom just has to asked Echo to "turn on TV" or "turn on Roku".

Logitech® Harmony® Home Hub

Anonymous from Broomfield, CO on 12/22/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Logitech Harmony Hub is a little tricky to set up. I was hoping for an option to copy the config from my Harmony 650 but could not find one. Fortunately I am used to the Harmony set up program so I was able to get most everything set up on my computer. It is also weird in that it requires you to use your smartphone for setting things up too. I guess that is okay since you use you smartphone for controlling everything. I had difficultly setting up my Windows Media center with IR control. I keep getting errors but it seems to work fine, so I'm not going to worry about it. The bottom line is that setup is a bit of a pain. Once everything is set up it works even better than the 650 (more consistent operation).

This is the one to order !

Snowman from Florida on 9/11/2016

Just amazing to me. You don't even need a Harmony Remote. With this less costly Harmony Hub option, I can use my iPad and/or my smart phone to control everything about my home theater. All the selections of the original mfg. remotes are right there at your fingertips on a fully lighted screen. Even the detailed menu adjustments for my Receiver, Projector, Blu-ray player and my Streaming device. Great complete remote.

Pros: Control from just about anywhere in the house for me. Complete system on or off at the touch of a button. Customer service is very helpful in setting up your components.

Cons:

Great product, app needs some tweaking

William from Lutz, FL on 8/18/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I gave it only 4 stars due to the UI. The actual reliability relies on your rougher being on and connected. I had no issues whatsoever. The nice thing about their app is that you can easily add favorite channels compared to using the computer/desktop software to program their remotes. You have to know the channel number and load your own photos for the channels I their desktop software. The knot reason I gave 4 stars is the fact that the buttons could e better laid out and even some of them labeled.

Pros: Cost and ease of set up

Cons: App could be more refined.

Good, but ...

Musiclover from Houghton, MI on 6/4/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The hub was pretty easy to set u p (about 15 minutes) and talks to all my stuff. The use interface is clunky, and it sometimes forgets which input is needed for a given activity. I love controlling my system from my smartphone or tablet, but the UI definitely needs work. For example, it does not -- will not -- autorotate. Also, the 2.5 mm jacks for blasters are not standard and require hard-to-find adapters to extend beyond the 2 meter length of their standard cords. A good product the COULD be great!

Pros: Talks to everything.

Cons: Clunky UI and quirky operation.

Excellent integration for home theatre

Chris from SoCal, CA on 4/20/2016

Using this to integrate with a home automation setup. Transitions and integrates flawlessly across each of my devices. Highly recommended

Pros: Ease of use, pre-programmed scenes in the app,

Cons: nothing comes to mind.

Logitech Harmony Home Hub`

Charles H from Oakland, CA on 2/9/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Logitech Harmony Home Hub work like advertise. I got rid of five remotes and put them in drawer. I have a app on my iPhone 6 and my iPad Air 2. The App. Is easy to work with. Every control shows up on the App. Very easy to setup. I would give the hub five stars if I kind control more products.

Pros: Works great.

Cons: Wish could control more products.

Still Epic!

Easy to setup via desktop or IOS app. Great, powerful IR blaster that hides equipment in closet

Pros: Easy to setup. Always works Large DB of products

Cons: NO IP Control No remote included. If you have a TV or projector far away from your equipment you have to run a IR cable

Great product!

I have this one and the ultimate version. This is as easy as slicing bread to setup and a solution to my cluttered remote problem. Love it!

Pros: Replaces all kinds of remotes I didn't even think was possible.

Cons: Maybe the price?

Features

Hub + Smartphone Application: The Harmony Home Hub lets you control home entertainment and automation devices from your Apple iOS or Android device running the Harmony Control app. The Harmony Home Hub and Harmony Control app system support operation of up to 8 devices.

App Based Setup: The first time you set up the Harmony Home Hub system, the Harmony App for Apple iOS 8.0+ or Android OS 4.0+ walks you through the setup process on your smartphone or tablet and stores your settings in your personal account. Your settings can then be wirelessly transmitted to your Harmony Hub or any other supported mobile device. If anything ever happens to your smartphone or Harmony Hub you can use these saved settings to set up a replacement system with ease.

Note: Harmony Smart Home Hub supports 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n wireless networks with WPA, WPA2-AES, and 64/128 bit WEP encryption.

Harmony Home Hub: The Harmony Home Hub stores your setup information and communicates between the Harmony Control app on your smartphone/tablet and your entertainment system devices. Placed near your television, set top box, game console and other equipment, it uses Infrared (IR), Bluetooth (RF), and WiFi to control your various devices.

Harmony Control App: The Harmony Control app allows your Apple iOS or Android mobile device to communicate with the Harmony Hub over WiFi allowing your smartphone/tablet to control your home entertainment and automation devices. Now you can use your Apple iOS or Android mobile device as a personal universal remote control for your home entertainment and automation system. Control your TV, Blu-ray player, AV receiver, lights, locks, thermostats, blinds, and more whether inside or outside your home via a WiFi network connection.

  • Apple iOS: Download the Harmony Control App from the Apple App store onto your Apple iOS (8.0+) device.
  • Android: Download the Harmony Control app from the Google Play store onto your Android (OS 4.0+) device.
Note: Your Apple iOS or Android device must be connected to the same WiFi network as the Harmony Home Hub.

Wireless Communication: The Harmony Home Hub communicates with the Harmony Control app on your Apple iOS or Android device using your home's wireless WiFi (2.4GHz) network. The Hub turns the WiFi network commands from your Apple iOS or Android mobile device into infrared (IR) commands that your TV, cable/Sat box, Blu-ray/DVD player, A/V receiver, & many other home entertainment components understand. The Hub also distributes WiFi commands to a variety of home automation systems, plus Bluetooth (RF) commands to select gaming systems.

Note: An IR mini blaster is included to extend the range of the Harmony Home Hub allowing you to control IR devices that are on other shelves or outside of your cabinet, such as a television.

Gesture Controls: From the Harmony Control app on your compatible smartphone, you can use swipe or tap gestures to control and adjust volume, change channels, fast forward, rewind, and more.

One-Touch Controls: The Harmony Home Hub and Harmony Control app on your smartphone/tablet  to give you one-touch control of your home entertainment & automation system.

  • Entertainment Activities: You can create Activities that manage how you use your devices together. For example, if you have a TV, AV receiver, and cable or satellite box, you will want to control all of these devices when you watch TV. To control all of these devices together, create a Watch TV Activity. When you have completed adding your Watch TV Activity, you can add the other Activities that you want the Harmony app to control. The types of Activities that MyHarmony offers you depends on the types of devices you have added. You can add multiple Activities based on each type of Activity offered, such as Watch TV, Watch Movie, or Play Game.
  • Custom Activities: Most Activities should fit into one of the Activity types offered. The Custom Activity type is recommended only for home appliances such as light controllers, fans, climate control devices, etc. The Custom Activity does not provide optimized defaults such as button customizations, Activity icons, and Favorite Channels as the other predefined Activity types do. These may be configured manually from MyHarmony.
  • One Touch System Off: The Off button on the Harmony Control app powers off all of the devices for an Activity with one touch. For example, in a Watch TV Activity that uses a TV, Cable Box, and AV Receiver, pressing the Off button will power off all three devices at the same time.
Note: The Harmony Hub and Control App know the current state of the devices they control by remembering the last Activity you selected. For example, if you switch from watching cable TV to watching a DVD, the Harmony Control app knows that it doesn't need to power the TV off and back on; it just leaves the TV turned on. It also it knows that it needs to power off the cable box and power on the DVD player.

Favorites: The Favorites screen allows you to view your predefined favorite TV channels and station icons (when available). Using the MyHarmony desktop software or the Harmony Control app, you can select up to 50 Favorite Channels to display on your Apple iOS or Android mobile device. Selecting a Favorite Channel will start your "Watch TV" Activity, if it's not already started, and tune directly to that channel. Using the Harmony Control app, you can add, remove and reorder your Favorite Channels right from your Apple iOS or Android device.

Other Controls: With the Harmony Hub and Harmony Control app, you can also easily access guides, menus, and recorded programs; as well as control playback.

Home Automation: The Harmony Home Hub and Control app let you integrate home entertainment with home automation control to create personalized home experiences.

  • Philips Hue Lighting: The Harmony Home Hub and Control application are able to communicate with Philips hue wireless lighting systems. Once paired with hue, a light bulb will appear in the lower left corner of your remote allowing you to control your Philips hue light bulbs. Light, color, and brightness settings can be configured for each Activity. For example, you could turn on lights and turn them blue when you watch TV, and dim the lights and turn them yellow for a movie. These settings can be programmed as part of an Activity so that optimal lighting will always be set for each Activity.
  • Other Smart Home Automation: Using the Harmony Home Hub and Control application you'll also be able to control smart home automation devices from Nest, Lutron, August, and PEQ from your Apple iOS or Android mobile device.

Alexa Compatible: Connect the Logitech Harmony Home Hub with an Amazon Alexa enabled product (including the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Tap and Echo Show - all sold separately) and you can start or stop Harmony Activities with just your voice. In addition to Activities (like "Watch TV"), you can also control playback functions such as Play, Pause, & Resume, as well as raise or lower the volume. When Logitech Harmony and Amazon Alexa work together, you bring the power of voice to your home entertainment center.

Notes:
  • Amazon Alexa and the Logitech Harmony skill is currently only able to support a single Harmony Hub. If you have more than one Harmony Hub you will be asked to select one during the skill linking process
  • Some Harmony Activity or Favorite TV channel names conflict with things Amazon Alexa would like to do natively. For example, Activities with the word "Music", "Pandora", or "Spotify" will often not trigger through Harmony and will instead begin playing music through Alexa. You may want to consider, "Alexa, tell Harmony to turn on the tunes" as a friendly name to trigger a Harmony music-based Activity.

Harmony Home Hub Extender (Sold Separately): The Harmony Home Hub Extender (596HMHUBEX, sold separately) integrates ZigBee, Z-Wave, and Z-Wave Plus compatible devices with the Harmony Hub. Control lights, locks, sensors, garage doors and other devices operating through ZigBee or Z-Wave. You can include these devices in your programmed schedules and activities for enhanced home control. Or, you can use the Harmony Control App on your Apple iOS or Android device to control devices connected to an existing smart home control platform from Nexia, Vera Control (formerly Mi Casa Verde,) or ADT. Now your Harmony Hub system can control more home automation devices whether from inside or from outside your home.

Help: If you have a problem completing an activity function, the help feature on the Harmony Control application will guide you through the fix.

The Harmony skill was actually just released a few days ago and so far works very well for me. It's not as flexible you might like but allows you to switch activities as well as tune to channels set as favorites [ Jonathan  Oct 30, 2016 ]
I would imagine so, you can customize the buttons or add a wireless Logitech keyboard [ AUSTYN  Aug 22, 2016 ]
You do not use your original remote. You would use your phone or a harmony remote. You can see if your equipment is compatible on their website. I have never found any equipment that was not compatible! [ Frank  Aug 21, 2016 ]
Most media devices are present in Harmony's data base. In other words, you tell the hub what device your using (with model number) and the commands on the remote for that device should be there for you to use on the device your using the app with (phone, iPad...etc). [ MICHAEL A  Aug 20, 2016 ]
Yes. I have a Vizio smart TV with the remote with keyboard in the back. [ Charles  Aug 20, 2016 ]
Yes. There two outputs on the back. [ Charles  Apr 08, 2016 ]
Yes, there are two ports for IR flashers. [ MICHAEL A  Apr 07, 2016 ]
I would just put the hub in one cabinet which it self is a blaster and then the one other blaster it comes with in the other cabinet and you should be good to go [ William  Apr 07, 2016 ]
i believe only one. There are accessory blaster components you can buy to send multi signals through the one one blaster port. It got a bit too much for me so I ended up getting the harmony ultimate home and love it. Still only two boasters but that is what I needed [ Lloyd E.  Apr 07, 2016 ]
Hi Billy M . With the hub you can use 2 IR Blasters. The hub has 2 inputs for a IR blaster. Hope this helps. Have a nice day [ manuel  Apr 07, 2016 ]
Hi Billy. Most IR Emitters are basically interchangeable and I know they make them that plug in with a single plug and then split into two wires. On the other hand I know you would love one of the new hubs as they work well just like the rest of the Logitech remotes [ Frank  Apr 07, 2016 ]
Yes, you can plug in two IR blasters. [ Tinyfusion  Apr 07, 2016 ]
There are two 1/8" jacks on the back of the hub labeled 1 & 2 so I think you can attach two IR blasters. Also the hub itself serves as a large IR blaster so it should work in your situation. [ RON  Apr 07, 2016 ]
Short answer: Yes. However, the harmony home hub comes with only one blaster. You would have to order an additional blaster. Once you get it all wired and setup you can choose(through the remote settings only) whether to send signals through the remote, blaster, hub, or all of them. Personally I have one hub, one remote, and one blaster. I have an Onkyo TX-NR850 in my closed cabinet and it works perfect! Also, be advised that Logitech's customer service sucks with setting these up. There were almost no instructions when I set up mine. Hope this helps! [ AUSTYN  Apr 07, 2016 ]
There are plenty of websites if you google that sell a variety of 2.5 mini jack cable extenders. Hope this helps. [ Leonardo  Feb 06, 2016 ]
Hey. I'm really happy with this hub; so far no issues at all and I have my components downstairs. For your question, I know CAT6 and even speaker wire spliced will extend an IR signal. I guess I'm just wondering why you need such a length. In other words; if your components are in a closet or completely closed space, then I understand, but I wanted you to know the hub has great range and bounces off of walls quite well back to the components. Finally, if you have a spare few minutes, give Crutchfield a call and ask their consultants what the longest IR blaster/sender they carry or know of. Often I find someone who knows way more than I do on the topic and they point me in the right direction. Thanks [ MICHAEL A  Feb 01, 2016 ]
I really do not have ananswer because all my equipment is in one place. But if I where you I would check out E-bay to see if they have an a extension cable for the blaster cable. I hope this helps Have a nice day [ manuel  Feb 01, 2016 ]
Many places sell IR extender cables and they are not to expensive Most use the same type of cable as a set of head phone would use. 3.5 mil [ Frank  Feb 01, 2016 ]
from what I have found this is an issue. I didn't have to go that far. Not sure if harmony is working on a fix. [ Lloyd E.  Feb 01, 2016 ]
You can control up to 8 devices with a single Hub. You can add another Hub to control more devices, but the smartphone/tablet app can only communicate with a single Hub; so you'd also need to have multiple smart devices with the app installed in order to run multiple Hubs in your home. [ Larry  Dec 03, 2015 ]  Staff
