Our take on the Jaybird RUN

Truly wireless headphones for running

What's the number one thing runners want out of a pair of sports headphones? They MUST stay in place as you move — especially when there's no cable connecting the two earbuds. The sweat-proof, 100% wire-free Jaybird Run headphones were designed and built by runners, so they knows the drill. Wireless Earbuds that stay in place & sound great!

Maria from Pennington, NJ on 1/15/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These earbuds are great, stay in place with great sound. Easy to charge and stay charged long enough for a few workouts (about 4 hours) and then with a 5 minute case charge you can get another hour! Superb! There are also many earpieces you can change to to fit your ear better but I thought the ones they came with worked the best for me. Not a bad thing to say about them. They are terrific!

Features

Overview: The Jaybird Run True Wireless Sport Headphones give you the freedom to run, walk, workout, or just listen to music without having to worry about wires. Run earbuds are two totally separate units that fit into your ears securely and comfortably with no connecting cables whatsoever. The headphones come with a hard shell charging case, USB charging cable, five pairs of ear tips, four pairs of ear fins, and a spring-loaded storage pouch for your accessories.

Inspired by Athletes: Jaybird Run Sport Headphones are designed and built for runners, bikers, climbers, skiers, snowboarders, and other athletes. As athletes themselves, the designers know how much listening to their favorite music enhances their performance. They also realized that in-ear headphones with long dangling wires were a distraction because they were always getting snagged. Their goal was to create a truly wireless, secure-fitting sport headphone that would withstand bad weather and sweat. In 2017, Jaybird introduced the Run Jet (black) and Run Drift (white) True Wireless Sport Headphones.

Operation: The Jaybird Run earbuds connect to your mobile device via Bluetooth. The right earbud is the master, and connects wirelessly to your device and to the left ear bud. Multi-function buttons on the right and left ear buds offer basic functions, such as power on/off, pairing, play/pause, accept/end call, skip forward, decline a call, and activate Siri or Google assistant. The functions can be customized on the Jaybird MySound App, if desired.

Note: For best results, you should carry your Bluetooth device on your right side (armband, belt clip, pocket).

Fit: The Run ear buds come with multiple sizes of ear tips and ear fins so you can find the perfect combination for comfort and fit. Two sizes (small, medium) of round silicone ear tips and two sizes (small, medium) of oval-shaped silicone ear tips are included. The right selection of ear tips will provide the proper seal inside the ear canal which enhances the sound of your music while blocking unwanted external noise. In addition, there are four sizes (labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4 according to the length) of ear fins to help keep the ear buds securely in your ears. The proper fit gives you hours of comfort that makes you forget you're wearing them.

Note: If you want to stay more in tune with your surroundings, you can use only the right ear bud.

Power: The Jaybird Run True Wireless Sport Headphones are powered by rechargeable batteries that provide a full 4 hours of play time on a full charge. The buds start charging each time you place them into the hard shell charging case and close the lid. When exhausted, the ear buds fully charge in approximately 2 hours. A 5-minute quick charge will provide up to 1 hour of play time. To save battery power, the ear buds turn off automatically after 30 minutes of non-use. The charging case contains its own rechargeable battery which gives you two additional recharge cycles, or 8 hours of additional play time. The charging case takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge via the included USB charging cable. LEDs on the charging case and each bud allow you to check the charge status.

Jaybird MySound App: The Jaybird MySound app allows you to customize the EQ settings of your Run headphones, and helps you to find new music for your workout. You can choose from customized presets created by the Jaybird design team, and by many of the Jaybird athletes. Sound profiles from other app users are also available to try out, or you can create and share your own custom EQ settings. A Running Music feature lets you listen to and save music playlists from other users, and share your own Spotify playlists. The Jaybird MySound app also lets you adjust the functionality of the multi-function buttons on your Run headphones, and keep them up-to-date with firmware updates when they become available. If you lose your ear buds, a Find Your Buds feature helps you to locate them again. The MySound app is compatible with iOS (9.0 and later) and Android (4.4 and up) devices, as well and Mac and Windows.
