Overview

Our take on the SIRIUS Starmate Replay

The compact Starmate Replay may look small, but it delivers big SIRIUS performance. It brings you all of SIRIUS's great entertainment lineup, and it automatically stores the last 44 minutes of the channel you're listening to. You can pause live broadcasts, then rewind and fast-forward — great if you get interrupted in the middle of the big game, for example. The easy-to-read 4-line display showcases artist, song title, and channel information.

The accessories that let you use the Starmate Replay in your vehicle are packed right in the box, including a suction-cup mount, a roof-mount antenna, and a DC power adapter. The built-in FM transmitter relays the SIRIUS signal wirelessly over any vehicle's FM radio — and it'll transmit on any of 100 FM frequencies from 87.7 to 107.9.

You can scroll by channel, artist, or song title, and you can enter channel numbers directly. You can also save up to 30 of your favorite channels in the preset banks. The handy wireless remote gives you convenient system control.

Save the names of up to 30 songs or artists, and S-Seek will tell you anytime one of them is playing across the SIRIUS dial. You can also save the name of your favorite NFL team, and the system will alert you whenever they're playing.

You can use the Starmate Replay at home with the help of the optional home kit.

Note: A subscription to SIRIUS is also required. Satellite radio service is available only within the lower 48 states — not available in Hawaii or U.S. territories. Limited service is available in Alaska.

Excellent Buy

Matt from Wisconsin on 11/9/2006

I finally decided to take the plunge and get a satellite radio, and I think I made the right decision! This little unit is one great product. I purchased the radio and a home kit and I was very surprised with the sound quality and the overall quality of the unit. The FM modulator works quite well, the display is nice and bright (the buttons aren't annoyingly bright to me as another review said), and I get great reception in the car and with the home antenna not even positioned close to a window. I guess the only thing that I could see improving upon is the mounting system. If your going to be moving it around often, its not the greatest of designs due to seemingly flimsy antenna jack- I would have liked to see a docking station. In all, if your looking for a nice unit at a decent price this is definitely one to check out. Thanks Crutchfield!

Reception is terrible

Ken from Oregon on 9/22/2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am not sure if my opinion is based on the Starmate or just the Sirius reception but I am not happy with the system. The music cuts out everytime I go under an overpass. It also recieves no signal when I am in trees or a canyon even though I can get perfectly clear radio stations. I thought the whole point of satellite radio was so you could get music where you normally could not but it seems to be just the opposite. I have only had this a short time but unless something changes I won't be renewing my subscription. If you have a nice wide open drive it seems to be great but any obstructions will block the signal and you just end up with a choppy mess instead of the great music they promise.

Sirius Starmate Replay ST2 Rocks!

Scott from Palm Beach Gardens, FL on 9/17/2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have had the Sirius original Starmate(ST1) for over a year now and loved it, but the power supply started acting up. I decided to get the ST2 to replace the old one, and I am glad with this one even more with all of the improvements and added features. Sirius far surpasses XM in so many ways, not just Howard. The programming is so good and its always getting better. I will also be getting the boombox for this radio soon too.

Nice Radio

gregory from Crimora, Va on 7/11/2006

I really like this radio so far. Its easy to see, yet small enough to mount almost anywhere. The FM Transmitter works well, has good range, and sounds good. I now use it thru an aux input on my stereo and using the audio out on the unit makes it sound even better. It has lots of handy features and plenty of presets. My only complaints are that the remotes buttons are really small, and the unit runs rather warm.

Great Unit! Great Price!

Doug from Toledo, OH on 3/25/2006

This is my first plug & play radio and I have no doubts that I made the right decision. I bought it based on its size, features, and the reviews here at Crutchfield. The FM transmitter is suprisely strong. I have a station that broadcasts on the default tuning for this unit and it powered right over it without a problem. I thought that I might have to get an antenna extension cable since I was mounting it in a Suburban, but I had cable to spare. <BR><BR>I can see why other reviews have talked about how bright this unit is, but I mounted it in my overhead console so it doesn't bother me at all. This is not the radio I would want if I was moving it from one vehicle to another all the time, or listening to it in the house on a regular basis. The connections on the side of the radio don't seem like they would hold up if this was done on a regular basis. This isn't an issue for me since I don't plan on moving it to another vehicle. And you can stream most of the music stations online through the Sirius website, so all I did was run the audio from my computer to my sound system and listen that way. Overall this unit satisifies my needs for satellite radio almost perfectly.

Satellite rocks!

Carole from New York on 3/8/2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had toyed with the idea of satellite radio but never actually followed through for the mere fact that many people seemed to have major reception issues.<BR>Well, I'm glad I finally checked it out for myself. I selected the Starmate Replay since I wanted a basic tuner that could be hooked up to a home receiver. <BR>I ordered the tuner and the optional home kit. The order was out and to my home in a flash..Thanks Crutchfield!<BR>I was a bit nervous about setting it up, though I consider myself very knowledgeable about electronics. In the end, it was a snap to install and activate. Thank goodness I must live in a good reception area because the sound is tremendous! The features on the Starmate Replay are really impressive and once you get used to navigating thru the menus you can see how much it has to offer. I haven't fully explored all my options but I am HIGHLY impressed with the Starmate Replay and SIRIUS! I completely recommend both the tuner and the service.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product, i have been a sirius subscriber for 3 years now. My wife loved it and could not drive her car with out it, more than 10 min. So i bought her the starmate replay. Which works great, so great that i upgraded my ancient audiovox (4 fm presets, no choice) to a startmate replay. No i have options in the radio presents, i drive 1000 to 1500 miles a week all over tge north east so it is nice to have choices, but it is a pain flipping through in traffic, i do recomend a direct connect box into your factory radio, so there is no broadcasting interferences. All in all it is a great radio. I hate things on my window or in my line of sight so the mounting of this one was great, i was able to mount it above my review mirror so i can see it but it not in the way. I had my old one mounted so low it tended to pully my eyes of the road for a second.<BR>Best feature is the seek alert, you can store an artist not just a song like my old one used to. <BR><BR>I recomend buying it<BR>

Cons:

Great radio with a few minor flaws.

Maciek from Fort Wayne, IN on 2/17/2006

I just got my radio the other day. <BR>Item looks great. <BR>Everything is just the way I expected with the Sirius radio channels, reception etc, so no need to go into those details. As usual, let me go into the flaws (cause that is what future buyers want to read anyways):<BR>- Remote. This thing is very small. I am 6'3" 230lbs, former pro footballer, so small, bunched together buttons are not what I love to fiddle with. It seems to take a second for the receiver to get the command from the remote, you need to aim the remote directly at the unit for it to work, buttons are not lit up. All those things together = lousy remote.<BR>- Brightness. This is only an issue if you decide to mount the unit on the windshield. Boy, is this sucker bright... Even if you turn the brightness down, only the screen dims, buttons are still burning your eyes. So after 20 minutes of night driving you want to put your shades on. However if you mount it in a lower location, it's all gravy.<BR>- Windshield mount. Suction cup didn't perform too well out of the box, so I had to put something between the lever and plastic for it to stick to the windshield<BR>- Mount for the unit. I am not sure if it is defective or not, but seems like one tab to remove the head unit from it is missing or broken off. <BR>All that said, don't be alarmed. This is a sweet unit. Easy to operate and nice looking. Nothing is perfect, but I would strongly recommend this one to anyone.

Pros:

Cons:

Quality in a small package.

capt124 from Tuckerton, NJ on 2/5/2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great receiver. I have both XM & Sirius and this is my favorite. Easy to see the screen in all lighting conditions plus the readout is big for such a small unit. The replay is great with the way you can rewind a few seconds at a time or rewind song by song. I also discovered that by holding the "SELECT" (sirius dog) button for about a second, will give you a "last channel" jump. This is not in any of the literature.<BR>The only reason I gave this unit 4 out of 5 stars is the absence of a docking cradle, which would make moving the unit to different locations a lot easier.

Definate Buy

Vitfer from NJ on 1/28/2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had an XACT unit that worked for 7 days and broke. While that unit WAS working, the sound quality was horrible. It sounded like AM radio. I vowed not to buy any other products from XACT. I decided on this unit and I am THOROGHLY satisfied. Reception is a million times better; no more drop outs and "Aquiring Signal" messages (although the purchase of the FM modulator relay from Crutchfield brought my audio quality to CD perfect sound...no exaggeration). The display is not too bright as other reviewers are complaining about, but if the user feels it is, there is a dimmer on the unit. People need to understand their product inside and out before they do a review on it! You can store 25 artists or songs so that whenever they are played on ANY of Sirius's stations, the unit alerts you and you can flip over to that channel. It is small, lightweight, and looks nice. To make this product perfect, I would make two changes. The first is the blue display. Not too many cars have a blue dashboard. It does not bother me but I could understand how this would deter someone from making this purchase. The other problem is that there is no dock for it. If you wanted to move the unit between cars or to the house, you have to unplug individual wires into and out of the unit. Once again this does not bother me because I don't move it, but I could understand that many people use their units this way and constant plugging and unplugging can lead to a shortened life for the product. I have never been compelled to write a review before, but I feel confident enough about recommending this product that 99% of people who do purchase it will be COMPLETELY satisfied with it!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am new to Satellite Radio and have to thank Crutchfield for actually having "Sirius" Receivers in stock to sell after x-mas!!!....I was so happy with my Starmate and was amazed how easily I was able to do a virtually "invisible" installation!.....It looks great and works great and very easy to use!...The blue screen at lowest brightness is perfect and not distracting to me and even matches my FM Radio screen.....Can;t say enough about it and enough about Crutchfield and Sirius (and Stern!!!)

Cons:

Awesome little satellite radio receiver!

Al from Rockledge, FL on 1/26/2006

I recieved this for Christmas and it is great. The replay function is really nice. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because everyday after work I would find it on the floor of my Expedition. So basically the velcro mount doesn't work. I still have yet to find a decent mounting option. The suction cup mount is ok but the display is too bright at night with it in the windshield. But other than that it is great. The display is very legible even in direct sunlight.

Pros:

Cons:

Power cord low quality, Too bright at night

bibacity from South Dakota on 1/25/2006

The power cord sent with this unit is a low quality. On both ends of the cord the wires are starting to pull out and be exposed. A few days ago the wires shorted together causing the fuse to blow. Now both my Rio Car MP3 player and Eclipse head unit are not functioning properly with the aux audio input. <BR><BR>Also this unit is way to bright at night. There should be an option to disable the illumination of the buttons or be able to dim them. I guess I could take the unit apart and disable the illumination of the buttons.<BR><BR>The sound quality on this unit is not the same quality as my Blaupunkt radio I also have. I wanted a small package with the connections on the side so I didn't have much choice in radios. <BR><BR>I wish Crutchfield would do a sound quality comparison using the aux output and FM modulation.<BR><BR>The installation package is not high quality.

Pros:

Cons:

One of the best PNP units yet!

Dave from Blue Anchor, NJ on 1/15/2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am a satellite radio addict because of Sirius, and now count this as my third unit and subscription (I still have the older ones). The replay is a leap up from the "older" Starmate. Thanks for restoring the ten selector buttons so I can key in a direct choice w/out the remote, adding the slew of FM mod channels vs. 5-6 as before, etc.<BR>This one is easy to figure out, with well positioned controls and better menus. The screen doesn't seem to "wash out" as the older Starmate does when it gets warm.<BR>As one reviewer stated the FM modulator is WAY more powerful than the older units, as you will see, too. But in spite of this, I strongly recommend the #14110 antenna modulator. It makes such a HUGE difference (at least to me) I believe it should be standardized with all the car kits. Piece of cake to install, too. Add it to your order- you won't regret it.<BR>Still waiting for Sirius to design a simpler (read-less hassle) way to connect the wiring for these things as I move it indoors and back to the car, like my old JVC piece.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I almost bought the Xact visor receiver which would have been great too, but I'm sold on the fact that I can rewind live radio whenever I want. It has alot of the options you find in the more expensive radios and works just as well. <BR><BR>It was easy to install, no professionals needed and no tools needed except a screwdiver to attach the mount plate to the suction cup. The FM modulator was easy to setup and it comes in crystal clear. I'm excited to have Sirius and this receiver in my car and you'll be happy if you get this one too.

Best plug and play thus far

Martin from Philly PA on 1/14/2006

i would say this is by far the best plug and play thats come out so far...i love this unit! it does pause, rewind and, FF but i cant say i really use that to much....i think the S50 is misleading and overpriced....you cant listen live and portable and the storage is tiny....in due time they will have something better....i rather spend 1/4 of the price for the starmate...would recommend this unit to anyone! howard rules!

Sweet

Gene from Western MA on 1/10/2006

I love this unit. The FM transmitter is so strong <BR>that when it's in my kitchen I can pick it up in<BR>the car from 100ish ft away. Any neighbors listening <BR>for free?<BR> <BR>The cables that come with it were long enough to<BR>hide them perfectly. I was able to run the cig. lighter<BR>adapter from inside the center armrest all the way under<BR>the console with 2ft to spare. <BR><BR>I mounted it in the CD holder in my 03 Accord so the<BR>brightness isn't a factor since I can simply close the door.<BR><BR>My only complaint is my fear of the long term effects<BR>of having to plug and unplug the 2 jacks everytime I<BR>go from home to car.<BR><BR>Tip: Sirius can be listened to online, but only for music and a couple talk stations. If you get an FM tuner/capture card (under $50) you can simply listen to everything via this unit. <BR>And record too!

'Sirius' about looking for great mountable receiver? Look no more

Dave from Tewksbury, MA on 1/10/2006

After deciding if I want an aftermarket radio that is satellite ready or a mountable satellite radio, I chose Sirius Starmate Replay from Crutchfield. I'm also a Stern fan and had to see what his shows would be like on satellite. I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata; an in-dash receiver wouldn't look right, that's why I bought the Starmate. I had the receiver installed professionally 2 weeks ago, the techs tucked the receiver on the left corner and mounted it on the windshield right by the steering wheel and they hid the wires underneath everything. Since the Starmate came with the remote, it was easier to use. There have been complaints about the brightness of the receiver, but I found out you can dim it to your convenience. The only con about satellite radios in general, that it will lose the signal from time to time when you go underneath an overpass or you drive on roads that have trees hovering above. Another thing is that the receiver gets really warm after 10 minutes or so. Other than that, the receiver is great. It tells you who's playing, what song it is. It has a clock on it too. I recommend this product if you're looking for something small, easy to use, commercial free (with a small monthly subscription fee for an option), lots of varieties of music play, and more. I love satellite radio so much that I haven't even switched to FM radio since I had it.

Pros:

Cons:

Great product, but had to return my first one due to a display problem

Bill from Pennington, NJ on 1/6/2006

This receiver is great, and the Sirius service is great as well. We also purchased the home kit, which is nice for hooking Sirius up to our home receiver, although I'm glad our entertainment system is near a window so we didn't have to run the antenna cable across the room. The jump feature and the various display options (by genre, station title, current show / song, etc) make it easy to navigate all the available channels without wasting time.<BR><BR>We did have an issue with the display, however. It worked intermittently, so you could not see what channel was playing or use the option menus. Crutchfield replaced it quickly and the new one seems fine.

Excellent Sirius Radio!!!

Scott from Vernon, CT on 1/2/2006

I received the Starmate Replay for Christmas from my wife. Of course, I told her this was the one I wanted! It is just the right size for mounting in a car or using in the house. Most of the other Sirius radios are too big and bulky. The display is excellent and can be seen very well in the daylight as well. My main complaint is that when mounting it on the windshield using the suction cup mount, there is quite a problem with the light of the unit reflecting off the glass at night. It is extremely distracting while driving. Since the unit is silver also, it reflects off the windshield during the day a bit too. It would have been nice if there was a "night-mode" for the lights, that would allow you to dim the button lighting so that the reflection is not so bad. I would recommend to anyone to test the mounting position before you complete the install to make sure you will not be distracted by reflections, or block your line of sight for driving. I have ordered a bracket from Pro-Fit that will allow me to custom mount the radio in my '99 Jetta to the right of the climate controls. This will be far less of a distraction and there will not be any windshield reflection from that location. Antenna wire could be a bit longer too. By the time I routed it around the rear window, into the trunk and through the door sills, there wasn't much length left. These are minor issues that I experienced. The radio itself is fantastic and the FM transmitter works way better than I expected. I have not experienced any drop-outs at all. I highly recommend this Sirius Radio. As I write this, I am anxiously awaiting Howard Stern's start date on 01/09/06!!!!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this as a gift for someone who is very specific and extremely neat. I was worried about having too many wires floating around and I had heard bad things about FM transmitters. This product exceeded every expectation I had. The cables are very low profile, and the FM transmitter works great. We drove across the state and didn't have to change the frequency once. The interface is very intuitive and the features are awesome. This is the best gift I have ever given. It's also a plus that you can listen to Sirius online with your subscription. Buy this.

Richard from Queen Creek, AZ on 11/25/2005

The Sirius Starmate Replay is great. I found a way to get it to play with no interference without the FM Transmitter. I took the antenna off of my truck and now it play clear. I like the display it serves as a noght light in my livingroom. Sirius has done it again.

Some nitpicks, still the best portable unit for the money

Liquid from Detroit area, MI on 11/22/2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've had almost a month of constant use with the Starmate Replay and it is living up to the "hype" of the previous reviewers. The replay function is great; I love that all the buttons that are on the unit are on the remote; Artist/Song alert is an excellent function; the display is easy to read in any light; when I park on the side of the house the FM transmission can be picked up inside... I could go on and on. <BR><BR>But as some reviewers have noted, the display is very bright at night and that's a bit annoying. Also I wish the built-in FM transmitter was clearer; kinda stinks that I have to buy additional hardware to get quality audio out of a paid-subscription service. <BR><BR>Still, based on my online research and daily usage of the Starmate Replay, I think I got a great deal and would recommend this unit to friends & family.

Cons:

Not a true PNP

Gordon from Cincinnati on 11/19/2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit looks great and sounds great, but it has one major flaw in my opinion. The fact that it lacks a cradle makes it very inconvenient to move from auto to home and back. You have to plug and unplug 2 or 3 wires (depending upon whether or not you use the FM modulator or direct connection) everytime you move the unit. This becomes rather tedious. It also puts a great deal of wear and tear on the connectors. I decided to mount the unit in my wife's car permanently and not use it as a portable. I will be trying the Sportster Replay equipped with a cradle for use as a trully portable unit in my vehicle.

Cons:

Sirius has produced a wonderful product

Fergy from Philadelphia,PA on 11/10/2005

Had this unit professionally installed. It's worth the expense because all the wires are out of site including the cigarette lighter adapter. It can be installed anywhere on the windshield.Mine is lined up in the center of the windsheild and low. With a little effort I can use it manually and it comes with a remote which can also come in handy.Very attractive looking from the dashboard.I pick this unit over several other ones because I'm using it strickly in the car.I have the Sirius SR-H550 for when I'm at home.Overall,I'm thrilled to own this product and It's very easy to understand and use all the features. Also I'm very pleased with Sirius and chose them over XM radio because thier radio stations play more of the artists I like

Pros:

TOO BRIGHT!!!

Bll1280 from Lansing, MI on 11/9/2005

one of the best units available!!

ken from carlsbad, ca on 10/25/2005

I bought the starmate replay last weekend to replace an xact unit. I also own a sportster replay and the standard starmate unit. The starmate replay is the best of the bunch. The display is bright and easy to read. Due to its size, I was able to velcro it to my dashboard just above the indash stereo system without blocking anything else. While I use an Aux stereo input for the Starmate, I've tried the FM modulater and had no problems. The regular Starmate has the strongest FM modulater I've ever experienced and I'm sure the replay unit is no different. Great radio for the money.

Sirius First 3.0 Generation Tuner

David from Pineville, La on 10/23/2005

This tuner is one of the best Sat Radio Tuners I have ever used. It is small, easy to mount, though the included windshield suction cup mount really should be replaced with a better mount. However, because this tuner is so light I was able to use the included Velcro which works great. I also got the home kit which really makes listening at home a snap. <BR><BR>Artist seek feature is really nice, and unlike XM, Sirius allows you to save your artist or song so that means you'll be alerted by the artist or the song, you don't have to pick all artist or all song like XM. Bright display, buttons are nice, remote works well.<BR><BR>FM Tran works well, apparently the initial reviewer didn't bother to read the manual or notice that there was an FM-out on the side of the tuner. This allows you to use an SATSWB or Wired FM antenna which gives GREAT FM reception.<BR><BR>Since this tuner doesn't require a cradle you would have to plug and unplug to move it between autos are from auto to home/office. Not that big of a deal as I found it easy to do. There is no boombox announced as of yet, but hopefully there will be one.<BR><BR>Sirius really did their home-work on this tuner and being their first 3.0 generation tuner I can't recommend it enough! <BR>

Great unit w/o any problems

Mark from Boston, MA on 10/14/2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this unit one week ago. The FM Modulator has an on - off option that would cut off transmitting to any fm receiver. That way the audio out option to a receiver would have no interference. I have no problems with this unit transmitting to my radio in my Ford F450 or my Toyota Camry. Sleek, small and easy to use and at a good price for a replay unit. Two thumps up here!! Since I bought this 6 days ago,3 of my friends bought the same unit!!!! ô¿ô

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchesed this radio about three days ago. I put the unit into my truck and it was a very nice unit with the cool blue display and crisp display. Well it was all gravy until I used the fm modulater that is built in. It totaly sucked. I need to use this option because my truck is leased. Well I put the fm modulater on 87.7 and it went over the station and then it was like the modulator shut off for some unknown reason. Well I do not know if I got a defective unit or the fm modulator is just not as strong as the other radios. I remember that the fm modulaters on the directed recievers are not as good and strong as some other units. If you are going to use the aux out on this unit you will be happy but if you need the fm mod option I would look at other offerings

Receiver Features

Product Overview: The Sirius Starmate/Replay/Replay ST2 is a portable plug-n-play Sirius Satellite Radio receiver. The package includes a wireless remote, magnetic antenna, cigarette lighter power adapter, and an adjustable suction cup car mounting kit. An optional home kit (item # 607STH2) is available for enjoying Sirius programming in your home or office.

Sirius Satellite Radio: Sirius Satellite Radio features more than 120 streams of original programming beamed coast-to-coast, including 65 streams of commercial-free, digital-quality music, plus news, talk, sports, entertainment, and children's programming.

Note: Satellite radio service is available only within the contiguous United States. Service is not available in Alaska and Hawaii.

Display: The Starmate/Replay ST2 tuner has a compact 4-line display. The Default screen displays the Channel Name and Number on the top line, the artist name on the second line, the song title on the third line, and the signal strength meter, channel category, clock, and preset bank on the fourth line. Momentarily pressing the display button changes the artist and song title to a large, scrolling one line display. Holding the display button for 1.5 seconds enters the channel list mode, making it easy to quickly search for music by category, artist, and song title. You can manually adjust the display's contrast and dimming controls for best viewing.

Search Modes: This unit gives you several ways to search for and select music or other programming:

  • Channel: Scroll through each channel in numerical order
  • Category: Scroll through each of the categories (Pop, Rock, Country, Hip-Hop, R&B/Urban, Electronic/Dance, Jazz/Standards, Classical, Latin & World)
  • Artist: Scroll through the artist names of currently playing songs
  • Song Title: Scroll through the titles of currently playing songs

Preset Tuning: The tuner allows you to store 30 presets in 3 separate banks (A, B, and C) of ten channels each. Preset channels can be tuned directly by selecting a preset band and pressing the preset number on the numeric keypad (unit or remote). While in the Preset Tuning mode, you can view the list of presets showing channel name, artist name, or song title.

Direct Tuning: You can directly enter the 3-digit channel numbers using the number keys on the ST2 or the remote.

Memory Function (Memo): The Memo function allows you to capture and store information about the programming (artist/song info or sports team) on the currently tuned channel, up to 30 listings.

S-Seek: Once you have stored artist/song title information in memory, you can activate the S-Seek function to search for, and audibly alert you whenever the artist/song is playing on an incoming channel.

Game Alert: Once you have stored team information in memory, you can activate the Game Alert to search for, and audibly alert you whenever a programmed team is playing on an incoming channel.

Signal Indicator: You can check the strength of the Sirius satellite signal being received. When locating the antenna in your home, you should place the antenna in a spot that illuminates the maximum number of bars on the meter.

Instant Replay: You can record the audio of a channel for playback later. As soon as you tune to a channel the receiver starts storing the audio, enabling you to rewind and replay at any time. Once you start playing again, you can fast forward through anything you don't want to hear.

Parental Control: The Starmate/Replay has the ability to lockout the use of any channel you do not want accessed without your permission. The locked channel will not appear when the user changes channels with the channel switch. When the user tries to directly access a locked channel, the "Enter Code" screen will be displayed, and the channel will not be accessed until the proper code is entered.

Auto Select: When Auto Select is turned on, the receiver will automatically tune to a highlighted channel. When Auto Select is turned off, the receiver will not tune to the highlighted channel until the Select button is pressed.

FM Transmitter: The Starmate/Replay's built-in modulator allows you transmit Sirius radio programming to your vehicle's FM tuner, so you don't have to make any connections between the Sirius receiver and the radio. You can select any frequency (in 0.2 MHz steps) between 88.1 MHz and 107.9 MHz. The FM modulator can be turned off if not in use.

Time-Based Functions: The tuner has a built-in clock with the time data provided by the Sirius signal. The clock can be set for time zone and observance of Daylight Saving Time. Once the clock data is set, you can activate the following functions:

  • Alarm: Built-in alarm clock turns on the unit at a specific time
  • Program Alert: Tunes to a specific channel at a specific time
  • Auto Shutdown: Automatically turns off at a specific time
  • Sleep Mode: Set to turn off after a selected period of time, 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes

Remote Control: In addition to offering all the controls on the receiver's front panel, the remote adds mute and volume control. Dimensions: Length=4.145", Width=1.623", Height=0.681".
