Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Great radio , performs as expected of a Kenwood . Only complaint is Bluetooth connecting a new device can be tedious at times .
Item # 613DDX374B | MFR # DDX374BT
Kenwood always puts a lot of thought into designing their car stereos, especially when it comes to usability. Whether you want to hear radio, streaming audio, tunes on a thumb drive, or even a CD from your collection, Kenwood's DDX374BT DVD receiver gives you quick access to all your music and entertainment. Plus, its big 6.2" touchscreen display lets you see and control all the info on your Android™ or iPhone® quickly, as well as access all important functions with just a quick glance. Add in extended Bluetooth® capabilities, and you've got a receiver that allows you to keep your attention on the road ahead.
Bluetooth gives you hands-free calling convenience, plus a wireless connection to the songs stored on your compatible music player. And if you're not the only driver, this Kenwood enables you to pair two phones simultaneously. An indicator on the receiver's display lets you know which phone is active. Don't forget, Bluetooth isn't just about smartphones. Many portable high-res audio players include Bluetooth, too, so you can stream your music collection on your journey.
When your iPod, iPhone, or Android phone is connected, you can view album art and browse through your playlists with a few swipes of your finger. And with an iPhone or Android phone as part of the action, you can stream your favorite Pandora®, iHeartRadio®, and Spotify® stations through your sound system.
Your legacy media is good to go too — the DDX374BT plays all your CDs, DVDs, and recordable discs, and you can plug a thumb drive loaded with hours of music into the receiver's rear-panel USB input. And if your local radio stations aren't really making you happy, you need to check out the mindboggling variety of programming on satellite radio. Add a SiriusXM tuner (sold separately) to this Kenwood and you'll be able to listen to your favorite stations all the way from Savannah to Sacramento.
The 6.2" toucnscreen display gives you control over all your music and videos.
Bass and treble controls really don't make it when you're trying to get the sound right. This receiver sports a 13-band equalizer that allows you to set up separate tone curves for your separate audio sources. Combine that with the built-in digital time alignment processor, and you can make the driver's seat the front row at the concert. The DDX374BT also provides three pairs of RCA preamp outputs that'll send a clean, high-voltage signal to any outboard amps in your system.
The DDX374BT offers compatibility you won't find in many other aftermarket radios, thanks to the iDatalink Maestro module (not included). The module lets you keep factory features in your Chrysler, Ford, GM, Toyota, or VW vehicle that you'd otherwise lose when you install a new radio. You'll also be able to check out expanded functionality on the Kenwood's screen, including gauges, climate controls, a distance sensor, and tire pressure and temperature monitors. It'll even integrate your stealth K40 radar detector into the stereo's display, so you can see and hear about incoming threats (available soon).
In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.
Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.
iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Great radio , performs as expected of a Kenwood . Only complaint is Bluetooth connecting a new device can be tedious at times .
Great sound. Easy to use. It is a great upgrade too my factory system.
Excellent head unit! Easy to install and set up. Definitely get it prewired from crutchfeild. Nice and clear display. Easy to see on sunny days.
Figment was great Andy he unit functions perfectly. Has lots of awesome features that really help me get the best sound out of my speakers for me and when I have passengers in my truck.
Pros: Connects and works great with everything I have in my truck
Cons: Lots of extra components and wires behind radio so that everything works with Oem steering controls.
Just received my kenwood today! I went ahead and paid to have crutchfield pre wire the deck, TOTTALY WORTH IT!!!! Install took maybe 30 minutes to complete, and it looks great! my local car audio shop wanted $1300 for a cheap Jensen touch screen and install.... I can't see why anybody would shell out that kind of cash when for much less and 30 minutes I have a nice kenwood to show for it.
Pros: very affordable. very easy install, looks like a professional did it! my factory speakers sound so much better!
Great system and a great price
Great radio but refurb stopped working after 7 months
Great sound and visual setup. One thing I don't like is how small the volume knob is. The radio has a slight recess in the dash once installed, so it makes the knob a little hard to work. Other then that it's a great unit.
Pros: Lots of customization
Cons: Volume knob a little small
Very nice radio. I installed this in my 2011 Sierra crew cab. It takes a little getting used to but after a week of playing around and getting used to the app and functions all is well. It plays dvd movies on the screen which is very clear. One thing to note is if you want to keep your Sirius XM radio you have to purchase a separate tuner that plugs into back of radio. If I had the money I would definitely purchase another one to put in my other truck.
Pros: Lots of functionality for the price
Cons: Have to buy separate tuner for XM radio
This stereo looks and sounds great. Instructions were clear and installed in 08 gmc truck with ease.
Pros: This was priced right
Review WOW, just with this head unit and factory speakers the 1996 T100 sound is night and day better. The Kenwood DDX374BT for the money; this head unit "ROCKS" Sound is true, clean, and powerful even with factory speakers. For the price I am very happy. The wire harness which I brought made things as easy as one, two, three!! Nice Job Crutchfield! If I need another stereo I know where to come. I didn't realize the truck had a factory amp, so the wire harness didn't look like it would work. Called Crutchfield help line and without hesitation he said unplug your amp and plug those connectors into the wire harness! BAM; turned on the Kenwood and even the power antenna work right off! I have since put in a cheap backup camera which works great! One thing if you want the backup camera to pop up on screen when you put your vehicle in reverse you'll have to tap in to the backup lite on your vehicle and run it to the reverse wire on the head unit. I didn't want it popping on every time I put the vehicle in reverse, so I didn't connect the reverse wire. I just push the camera button above the volume button when I want to use the camera. And push the button again or touch the screen in the bottom middle and it turns off. Now, as soon as I can find component speaks where the tweeters and crossovers can fit in the insisting door panels I'll upgrade the speakers also. (maybe even a amp) :) Crutchfield help was great!!
Pros: This unit works as advertised and then some. Fit was spot on. I would buy this unit again. I haven't use the phone, nor the paid music apps, so I cannot review that part of it. Turn it off and on and the USB starts right where the songs stops. Touch screen is good. Radio reception is great. I personally like the USB being on a cord; I slip in the memory card /w music and tuck it behind the dash and its out of sight. Not sticking out of the head unit where it can be hit or someone taking it.
Cons: Screen display isn't good in full light. I tried brightening the screen in the settings, but it doesn't seem to help enough.
Ver Good product for the price!
I love this radio. It works great. The Bluetooth picks up super fast and easy. The screen is super sensitive so you don't have to push hard on it at all. The only thing I don't like about it is there is no rubber on the volume knobs so u have to actually grip it with your fingers to turn instead of just using one finger. It's really not an issue but just a little something a tiny bit annoying to me. It fit perfectly in my 2005 Colorado.
Pros: Everything works great Sensitive screen Bluetooth is so easy to use Fit my colorado perfectly.
Cons: No rubber grip on volume knob
Installed this in my 2004 Chevy Avalanche. Fit was perfect. Works great. As others have said it is a bit slow selecting between selecting options but otherwise its ok. I would buy it again if I had the choice.
Good product. Easy to use.
My car has been in the body shop since shortly after it was installed, but my first impression was that this unit is a great bang for your buck. Nice, clear display easy to see in sunlight. Works great with my factory amps and speakers that came with my Shaker1000 system. I did notice that there is an issue using Bluetooth with iPhone when playing Pandora. Even though it connects and plays great, the unit appears as if it is still trying to connect to my iPhone. No big deal though.
Pros: Display, features, and sound
Cons: Connecting to Pandora or Spotify with iPhone and smaller volume knob
I was rather impressed with this stereo. It fit well into my 06 dodge ram. I love the sensitivity of the screen, it feels like I barely need to touch the screen. It adds a great touch to the interior of my truck!
Pros: Touch screen, Bluetooth, usb cable in, volume dial, cd player
Cons: The blue tooth connection isnt the strongest, the dash panel has to be trimmed to fit
Love this radio, second one i have bought. The eq may be a tag confusing but thats my issue not a problem on the radio.
Pros: Excellent sound, good picture quality!

Video Output: A single RCA composite video-output jack allows you to an add external monitor such as rear headrest monitor (sold separately). Note: The iDatalink Maestro RR is web programmable, which means you'll need to flash the iDatalink Maestro RR interface module with the correct firmware from iDatalink's website. In addition to flashing the iDatalink Maestro RR module, you'll also need a vehicle specific harness (sold separately). Thanks for your question. You can check the main product page "Accessories" tab and there is a section for remote controls. The only one listed as being compatible is the one listed below. Hope this helps. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113RCDV331/Kenwood-KNA-RCDV331.html [ Kenny Mar 22, 2017 ] Staff
