Renowned Marantz design and performance
Meticulous engineering and high-quality construction are the hallmarks of Marantz receivers. The SR4023 starts with a front panel made of fiberglass-reinforced aluminum. This advanced composite material helps shield internal circuitry from performance-robbing interference and vibration. Inside, this receiver's oversized power supply and fully-discrete amplifier design pack plenty of high-current power to deliver the excitement and dynamics of your favorite tunes.

Flexible connections
The receiver's back panel offers enough inputs to hook up a total of eight components, including a turntable, and four audio/video components. A set of pre-amp out/main-amp input jacks let you add an external power amp for future system expansion. And Marantz even included an output for connecting a powered subwoofer. Plus, the SR4023's RS232 port and infrared flasher inputs allow you to operate this receiver as part of a whole-house system.

I am totally satisfied with you, your logistics, and your products.

Chris, I am unclear as to your question. I just bought this model and use it exclusively for CDs and radio. I have Fios for tv.. When installing the amp it did not require a TV. Germaine [ GERMAINE S  Jan 14, 2014 ]
No.. It is not surround sound.. I had the matching cd player also and am happy with theire performance... [ JOHN  Jan 13, 2014 ]
No, Does not require a TV for setup. This Marantz receiver is awesome. I replaced a Harmon Kardon. It makes the Harmon Kardon sound like an AM radio The Marantz SR4023 is a Great Receiver. [ MICHAEL J  Jan 13, 2014 ]
Chris, The short answer is... No, you don't have to connect a TV. I use my Marantz SR403 receiver for just audio. That is, I don't use video inputs and outputs. I do, however, use the VCR Out as a line-level output to my PC so that I can record and digitize material from the audio sources connected to the receiver; e.g., phono turntable -- and I have two reel-to-reel tape recorders connected to the two Tape input/output connections. It's next to impossible to find a purely audio-only receiver these days and the number of audio inputs/outputs the SR4023 offers really suited my needs. I hope this is of some help. [ JOHN L  Jan 13, 2014 ]
This receiver can be used as a home theater system or a stereo receiver only. That is how I am using it. I have it hooked up to a CD player a phonograph and Sirius xml satellite radio. [ EUGENE  Jan 13, 2014 ]
