Select Increments Versa-Pods allow you to put 4" speakers in just about any vehicle. You can install these ABS plastic enclosures under your dash, next to your center console, or even above your rear wheel wells in a Jeep or SUV to give your system a boost. They'll even work great in motorcycle and ATV applications.
Versa-Pods come with polyester stuffing, wire grommets and self tapping mounting screws to aid with mounting, but you can also use Velcro® (not included) to mount them and allow for easy removal. The package includes one pair of mirror-image enclosures — a "right' and a "left" Versa-Pod.

Very versatile. Makes mounting rear speakers a breeze in a Jeep.
They are very well built, multi angle, multi attachment style... super happy with the product. C
These pods are heavy duty. You can configure them any way you want. I used them to upgrade my speakers on my motorcycle.
used these to mount 4" speakers on top of the dash in my Polaris Slingshot. I wanted speakers mounted up high and aimed somewhat towards my head due to the rampant wind noise associated with the Slingshot's open cockpit. The Versa-Pods were the most compact speaker enclosures I could find and fit below my line-of-soght while placing the speakers in a good position to beam sound towards the occupants.
Installed on the roof of my Yamaha Drive golf cart. Look good and sound good too.
Versatile options for mounting. I used roll bar mounts (purchased separately) and then attached these with included hardware. Installed in 1971 Land Cruiser. Placed Polk DB402 4in coax speakers in them. Fit just fine.
These were perfect for what I had to use them for. I had the challenge of installing a set of speakers in a Club Car Precedent Golf Cart. They fit perfectly in the dash pockets of the golf cart. Installing them was a breeze. So glad I found these & will use them in the future if needed.
these worked perfectly in my 1973 Toyota land cruiser. I installed with recommended adhesive in the instructions and worked perfect.
Pros: One of the few 4" speaker mounts available.
speaker pods were very sturdy and could be placed in a lot of different positions due to shape i used in my 58 chevy front next to air vents on floor with velcro to hold in place..
i'm using them in my dune buggy, fits behind the seats.
Killer product!!! Excellent price, VERY fast shipping, and simple install. Self-installed in under a half hour and I am extremely pleased with the amount of sound these speaker boxes deploy. Great design that allows for very versatile installs. Highly recommended.
Pros: Great product, fast shipping, durable manufacture.
I have a strange one seat, 3 wheel enclosed police meter maid vehicle and I couldn't figure out where to put 4" speakers and a stereo. These speakers fit the bill in mounting on the rear ceiling on both sides. For there size it sounds good, not great, but they sure do look great, so I am 100% satisfied.
Pros: Small, sounds good, good looking, fairly easy to drill and custom mount.
Cons: None so far.
great for adding speakers in a tight place. Paint to match interior and they look like standard equipment
Used in a custom set up in a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500. Mounted to kick panels with 5 1/4 speakers. Took modification but works great. A little pricy for plastic pods but they are quality pieces. Very good buy even if you are doing something other than a Jeep set up too.
Pros: Heavy duty plastic. Very sturdy. Looks great with rest of my car. Good acoustics.
Cons: Says versa pods on the outside. Just slightly too small for 5 1/4 speakers but they are not made for that size speaker.
I found that the Versa-Pod enclosures were the perfect fit for a custom install for rear speakers on my 928 Porsche. They are of good quality which enables me to install them without having to recover or paint the outside.
Pros: Worth the money as you are not going to duplicate them for the time and effort it would take to make build a pair.
Cons: I will use installation covers on the back side of the speakers to in prove sound quality.
Bought these and used for a while, but still had a somewhat hollow sound. Added boom mat speaker baffles (need to cut these to fit) and the sound became more defined as would be expected in a custom enclosure....not dramatic but subtle changes that added to the soundstage of my four speaker system. Definitely a great addition.
Pros: Easily customized and installed.
Cons: Needed a little help to bring out the best in the speaker sound.
I used these to house some 4" Kicker Motorsports speakers and mounted them to the handlebars of my motorcycle. They're very thick plastic that doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. The shape was good for my application, and I can see how it would be useful for just about anywhere someone may want to throw a pair of 4" speakers. (Jetskis, classic cars, etc). Of course the waterproofing is a plus, too. I don't see any reason why someone couldn't smooth them out and paint them to match the finish of the car or whatever they're being installed in, so that's nice, too. Handy product here, Crutchfield had it the cheapest I found online, too.
Pros: Well built, versatile, waterproof
Cons: Kind of pricey
Was looking to add some tunes to my sportbike, and needed a pod that wasn't to bulky or flimsy. These came in handy, and perfect for my needs.
Pros: Solid Construction, Not to heavy, Came with ness. components
Cons: Just wish this Versa-Pod wasnt logo in the plastic
Perfect for use in my 65 Corvair convertible .I did not want to cut into side panels etc. and they will lay on the well cover when top is up and can lay in the seat when top is down or wherever is convenient.Again they answered my dilemma.
Pros: Would recommend these to anyone who does not want to cut into an old classic.
These pods are great. They fit in the smallest Of places and because if the shape they fit in awkward places. Prople were. Commenting how good this small system sounds.
Pros: Small, shape lets you have choices of Where to mount
These boxes are very thick and come with everything you need for install. They are also deep enough to handle any 4inch speaker you can throw at it.I used these for a set of focal polyglass cvx-100's.even used the grills that came with the focals.I also put a set of those in my rear b pillars.the sound from the ones in the these boxes is clearer.mostly due to the fact that they are sealed boxes.Im thinking about buying another set of these but havent figured out were i would put them yet! if you dont have anywhere to put speakers or just want to add to your sound, these are for you.i painted them to match my interior, just wipe down and paint!
Pros: versitle,paintable,sealed and sound great
Cons: versa-pods is stamped on the top of the boxes.i grinded it off because i wanted them to look like they were supposed to be there/not added.
After looking for YEARS for a set of speaker enclosures that I could use under the dash in my 1961 Benz, I found these in your on-line catalog (should have checked you guys first!). Their unique shape makes them very adaptable for under-dash, rear window shelf, and under-seat installation. They have very thick walls (no vibrations for sure) and will hold screws without using clips. They're also paintable...I hit them with vinyl paint to match my interior. I installed a set of your Helix speakers and the sound quality from this combination is amazing. They look and sound so good, I plan on ordering another pair for the back. Thanks for a great product!
Pros: Adaptable to most any location, very heavy construction, look great
Cons: Absolutely none
I installed these on the deck behind the seats in my '90 Miata as a replacement for the stock seat mounted speakers, when I upgraded to Corbeau seats. The flexibility of mounting options and the solid structure of the boxes really impressed me. There are no pre-drilled holes in the boxes to limit your installation, which actually made installation easier. The quality of the sound from the 4" Polk speakers that I installed in them is great. Good mid-range bass.
Pros: Installation flexibility Apparent quality
Cons: Metal speaker mounting tabs not very usable (Used screws into plastic instead)
The speaker boxes were easy to install with basic tools. They bring out the best sound from my infinity speakers and the various angles made mounting the boxes easy.
Pros: Easy to install. Bring out great sound from speakers.
Overview: Versa-Pods by Select Increments are black plastic enclosures designed to accept 4" full-range car speakers. Versa-Pods come in pairs, and are molded to fit into multiple locations in the interior of your vehicle. Originally designed for Jeeps, Versa-Pods are versatile enough to be used in just about any vehicle, motorcycle, or all-terrain vehicle.
Design: Versa-Pods are molded to be mirror-images of each other, making a "left" and a "right" pod. They have flat bottoms and two flat areas on each side, so they'll fit into many locations, including rear decks, under seats, and on either side of a console. Each Versa-Pod is filled with Polyester Fiber stuffing, and comes with a grommet (7/16") and self-tapping mounting screws. They can also be mounted using hook and loop fasteners or dual-sided tape.
Speaker Mounting Specs: Each Versa-Pod has the following mounting dimensions:

Because my old jeep pickup has no speaker enclosures [ Jared Dec 10, 2017 ]
These are for my wife's 1973 Beetle that she enters in car shows. We want sound, but we want to leave the interior in tact. With these, we can mount them without damaging the interior, and have great sound (we'll be loading them with 4" Kicker speakers). [ Todd Dec 08, 2017 ]

There's not enough information available to determine the exact internal volume in cu. ft. However, based on the dimensions that are given, each enclosure would provide roughly 0.079 cu. ft. of internal space. For more details on the exact internal volume, you may want to try contacting the manufacturer, Select Increments, directly at 610-345-9044. [ Larry Dec 29, 2015 ] Staff
Hi Jon. Offhand I'm not seeing a listing for 4" speaker grills from Sound Ordnance. You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility. They'll be able to help you track down a compatible grill. [ Jeff Sep 03, 2015 ] Staff
It depends on the speaker and desired outcome. The stuffing is a means to make the enclosure 'appear' larger to the speaker mounted in it; it's an old trick when subs are mounted in a box slightly smaller than their specs call for. If you speakers have a spec for enclosure size, and these are too small, leave the filling in to help that. When it comes to 4" drivers, though, the bass output is generally limited and there will probably be almost no difference in sound between leaving the filling in or out. If you're curious, have a listen with it in, then with it out, and use whichever sounds best to your ear. [ DONNA May 20, 2015 ]
You use the filling. It will keep the sound from echoing. [ Greg May 19, 2015 ]
I had the 4" pod, with that size speaker I would use the polyfill [ DAN May 19, 2015 ]
I left it in the pod. Not sure if sound is better with or without as I didn't try. [ BRIAN L May 19, 2015 ]
I used the stuffing, and the sound is fine. I can't advise on what it would be without. Hary [ GARY May 19, 2015 ]
I left the stuffing in place on the assuming that they would make better sound. My application is a 1963 alfa romeo convertible and any sound in that car is marginal at best. [ NEIL May 19, 2015 ]
The instructions say to leave the stuffing in. I assume it helps dampen vibrations or creates additional resonance. MIne have stuffing in, and sound quality is good. Guessing the sound would not be improved by removal. Just be sure to take it out during installation; otherwise, it gets wrapped around screws and makes a mess. [ Ryan May 19, 2015 ]
The longest side is 6.5 inches, which is the bottom or flat side. [ ANDREW Jun 16, 2014 ]
