Posi-Tap™ connectors tap into hot leads without cutting them. Just insert wire to be tapped into the large cap and hand tighten into the barrel. The conductor point pierces the tapped wire without compromising its conductive integrity. Insert stripped wires through the small cap, then tighten for an unprecedented multiple hookup using only one connector.
This package contains an assortment of 6 tap connectors: two for 10- to 14-gauge, two for 14- to 18-gauge, and two for 20- to 22-gauge wires. Warranty: 30 days.

Product worked great for the project.
Everything with self installation should be this easy and satisfying these inexpensive pieces of heaven will ensure not only a good connection but one that leaves almost no sign that anything was spliced. Ie no cutting and butchering ur electrical system and no million dollar harnesses to buy.
Pros: Installation, even a bubble gummer can install these.
Cons: Not enough in one pack, so buy at least two to three for your install.
Awesome product, installed a line out converter and these made the job so much easier and faster. I will defiantly order these again.
Pros: Fast and easy to install Havent had a problem with connectivity
Cons: Wish they came in a pack for one size since my factory HU wires were 22guage and the pack i bought was for different sizes but i made it work
Better alternative then cheap auto shop connectors and wiring tricks. Directions are easy to follow. Variety pack was the best option.
The posi-tap is so much easier to use than standard t-tap. No having to strip the wire or worry about the tap cutting the tap wire. Simply place the wire in the notch end and screw on the barrel and you're tapped in.
Great connector easy to use
Ideal way to tap into wires
Cons: Please print the wire awg on either the sides, top, or bottom of each unit
In the past, I always bought the adapters to clip into the existing speaker wires for a clean oem look. These are so much easier- especially if you don't have much room to work. I also used one under the console to tap into the lighter for my amp remote without having to pull the dash apart to splice a wire.
As always Posi-Products wire taps worked great for my install.
Great product for low voltage tie ins
Pros: Easy to use and can be reused
Cons: limited sources
So simple to use. Love these splicers.
These positaps make tapping into a wire very simple. I will be using these from now on.
Pros: Easy to use Speedy Work every time
Cons: Only 6 in a pack The larger ones are only to be used for 12ga wire and up. The smaller gauge wire doesn't sit in the housing very snug, which causes defects in your wire tap. The assortment pack is nice if you are dealing with all sizes of wire but typically the medium sized taps work best for speaker wire.
Made my first time radio head install easy. Great product.
Pros: Easy to use.
Cons: Packaged with different sizes. Would have been more practical to have the option of ordering the needed size only.
These little connectors are a great invention! It made installation so much easier. I want to be able to return my vehicle to stock when I go to sell it and/or trade it in. The tap in's will allow me to do just that.
Pros: Convenient, easy to use
Cons: Make sure you get the right size. The big ones do not work well with normal gage speaker wire.
Easy to use and ease of use. Love it
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Little pricey but worth it.
These do exactly what there supposed to do. If you are adding an AUDIO CONTROL LC2i these work great for tapping into your factory wiring.
Pros: Easy to use-Work well
Easy to use, works as they should.
Pros: Simple, works as they should
Cons: So far none
These are amazing and easy to use. The only complaint I have is that they don't package them in packs that have the same size. The package has like two of each size, so if you're wiring a stereo and have to tap into several wires that are the same size, you need to buy several packages of these and not use a bunch of them in each pack. That gets spendy fast.
Pros: Easy to use, well made.
Cons: If you need more than a couple of one size you have to buy several packs and that's costly.
When these little tools were suggested I was grateful - finally a solution for the timely process of splicing. However, what happened makes me wonder about their universal usage. We were replacing a stereo in a 2003 Infiniti G35, and splicing an adapter into the mix so the stereo controls would work from the steering wheel. We used these posi-products for the process - and the process failed. Not being expert at this, we backed up and checked all of our connection decisions to make sure we had everything matching, and everything was in order; yet it didn't work. We removed the posi-taps and they appeared to do exactly what was expected - a small hole puncture exactly through the middle of the wire. We further tightened the connections (assuming user error) - and still no success. And yet, when we replaced these taps with a more traditional splicing approach, everything worked perfectly. So, my question remains - for this project was the small piercing sufficient to make the connection? I don't really know the problem, but this situation will come to mind the next time I need a solution for splicing.
Pros: Easy to use Convenient
Cons: The package has more diverse sizes that what was needed - more small ones would have been better. Do not always make the connection.
I installed a Rostra cruise control on my daughters Hyundai Tucson and the instructions said the one connection to a hot lead needed to be soldered. There was very little room under the dash to do anything so I decided to find options to soldering. I accidentally came upon an article about the advantages of soldering over making any type of mechanical connection. One of the comments to the article raved about the Posi Taps as an alternative to soldering. I began to research the Posi Taps and decided to purchase them. They worked perfectly and we have had no problems with the connection. I would fully endorse this product to anyone who is looking for an alternative to soldering. This is a great and time saving product.
Pros: Easy to install and makes a very secure connection.
Position products made joining/splicing a breeze. Connections were quick and secure. This is the only connect system I will ever use.
Pros: Quick and easy
Excellent product. It made connecting my vehicle's wiring harness to my new head unit a snap.
Pros: Easy to use.
Cons: A little pricey.
Great product, Easy to use. May have some difficulty in tight places
Pros: Simply, compact, easy
Cons: need two hands to install which may be difficult in tight spaces
I needed to tap into another wire for a radio I was installing and these worked so much better than the saddle connectors I have used in the past had no issues with the connections and the connectors were easy to use. I will use the PosiProducts again in the future.
Pros: easy to work with can be assembled in area were there is not a lot of room don't need tools to close connector like the saddle clamps I have used before.
Cons: the little ones for smaller gauge wire are hard to use if you have larger hands when trying to get the wire connector tightened up,
Love this product, used it to connect my wiring for the rear taillights and it was simple and perfect the first time. No cutting, no soldering, just put the main wire in the slot and tighten the top, strip a small end off the taillight wire and screw into the bottom with another cap and it was all over. Simplest wiring job I have had in years.
Pros: Easy, clean, can do it if you have very little skill, very tight connection.
Cons: No cons with the product but obtaining it is difficult, I hope they get some better distribution going.
Made installation quick and easy. Checked the connection afterwards, no problems.
Pros: Easy to use.
Very Easy to use and tap in to a live wire without having to splice wires.
Pros: Easy to use!
Cons: Need more sizes for different size wires.
Works as advertised, you don't have to cut your car wiring harness
Pros: easy to use
Cons: a bit pricy
I don't like cutting into factory wire harnesses when I don't have to, and Posi-Taps allow me to not "have to." They also allow me to do a quick disconnect if I want to restore the original wiring configuration. These will be in my toolbox from now on!
Pros: Quick and easy to use. Come in multiple sizes for a variety of uses.
Cons: Price point is a bit high.
Fabulous product-makes installing car stereos much more efficient!
Pros: Quick, secure connection
Cons: Too few in one package
Good quality product. Well made.
Pros: Easy to use
I was in need of an easy way of tapping the ignition wires in my truck to the wiring harness on a remote starting kit. The trouble is the ignition wires are up under the dash, with about an inch and a half of play. There was no way to use the kit supplied T-Tap style wire connectors. After researching online, I found some posts about Posi-Taps. I found them on the Crutchfield site, and ordered them up. I got the mixed set of three sizes. They work wonderfully! I pre-installed 8" lengths of wire pigtails to one end of each, then reached up into the tight area under the dash and slipped the slotted back pieces on one by one, tightening down to make a secure connection. Then I just used male/female crimp-on spade plugs to connect to the remote starting harness to my homemade pigtails. Almost too easy for an impossible job!
Pros: Simple design, reusable, excellent connection points
Cons: None so far!
Excellent wire connectors for tapping!
These are great products for tapping into existing wires. I much prefer these to the connectors that require you to crimp as often I am working in very tight spaces where crimping can be next to impossible. I am way more confident that my connection will last using this product.
Pros: Ease of use and quality of connection
Worth every penny!
Pros: Easy to use
Good product..they are overpriced and all of them can't be used.. Would be better if they were all the same size
These are great once you get past the price...very easy to use and re-usable
Pros: makes tapping into existing wiring very simple
Cons: high price tag
Absolutely the best and easiest way to connect wires. I think it is great for using on factory wires in your car. I didn't have to change anything to the factory wires in my car to use these. Amazing.
Tap it makes wire installation and tapping very easy. Wish I had purchased another pack. I would recommend this in any wire installation when improving your audio system.
I am an amateur when it comes to instilation. Theses things make tapping a wire so much easier. I used them to install a USASpec iPod unit on my Volvo. It made it super easy. A great product!
These are much better than the ones I bought locally. They were not as easy to use and stripped a lot of wire away. Replaced them with these and I am a happy camper at how they turned out.
Posi-Tap Connectors: Posi-Tap connectors allow you to tap into wires without cutting or stripping them. Each connector has a threaded cap on each end. Just insert the wire to be tapped into the slot in the threads of one cap (this is the Tap end) and hand tighten into the barrel. The conductor point pierces the tapped wire without compromising its conductive integrity. Insert stripped wires through the hole in the other cap (this is the Accessory end), then tighten. An internal conductor runs the length of the Posi-Tap, giving you a solid electrical connection. The Posi-Tap connectors are vibration proof, fully insulated, and reusable.
Note: If multiple wires are inserted into the accessory cap, the stripped wire ends should be twisted together.
