LG's best HDTVs are their elite INFINIA models, and the 3D-ready LX9500 series is the best of the best. Start with the elegant looks not only is the panel slender, but check out the super-thin frame. The screen almost seems to float in mid-air. Watching movies in 3D on the 47LX9500 is a real viewing adventure, and because the screen is specially designed to handle the demands of 3D, it also delivers the finest 2D picture you've ever seen.
When a TV is in 3D mode, it's actually displaying two full 1080p video images at the same time, one for your left eye and one for the right. Until now, all 3D LCD models have used 240Hz refresh rate, which actually translates to 120 frames per second for 3D viewing. The 47LX9500 uses LG's groundbreaking 480Hz technology 480Hz in 2D, 240Hz for 3D for flawless picture clarity and fluid motion with everything you watch.
LED-LCD TVs are becoming more common, but only a handful of top models like the 47LX9500 use a "full array" backlight the gold standard for picture contrast and black levels. A grid of LEDs illuminates the entire screen area, and LG's design groups these LEDs into 216 zones which can independently shine, dim, or darken. This precisely controlled "local dimming" enables the TV to simultaneously display everything from the velvety black of a deep-space star field to the brilliant white of an Arctic snowfield even in the same scene.
The 47LX9500's THX® certification means it passed more than 30 rigorous picture quality tests to ensure top-notch image resolution and color accuracy. And because the amount of light in your room has such a big effect on picture quality, LG includes separate THX settings for daytime viewing and for watching at night with the lights dimmed or darkened. And THX mode is automatic you don't even have to push a button.
LG's NetCast Entertainment Access makes watching Internet content on your TV easy. It brings some of the best online video sources directly to your television no computer required. You can watch movies from your Netflix® Instant Queue, download high-def on-demand titles from Vudu®, and lots more. If you have a wireless network, just add LG's Wi-Fi® adapter for a hassle-free connection.
The 47LX9500 comes with a conventional full-function remote that works exactly as you'd expect. Then there's the second remote LG's "Magic Motion" wand that's unlike any TV remote you've ever used. It's a motion-sensing design that lets you control basic everyday functions with gestures you don't just push buttons, you actually wave the remote around. It'll remind you of some of the latest video game controllers.

Average Customer Review(s):
glad i purchase this set.
Pros: video and audio are excelent.
I have used the TV now for about a month? Great TV, works fantastic with Digital Cable, The only downfall I have found is not with the Television itself....... The 3D content is fantastic with the fourth option for 3D imaging......... So one image on top of the next, but with the space in between the two images being filled by your brain automatically piecing them together....... The Blue-Ray player is a nice option as well, you can then jump onto your wireless network and watch NetFlix there, it may have the ability to do it with the TV, but you need a wireless adapter....
-Great blacks on this TV. You can really tell the difference when using the local diming LEDs (it allows you to turn off this feature) -Wide angle viewing is decent -Netflix works great (only down side is Yahoo Widgets do not work while using the NetCast features) Other Notes: You will need to disable SIMPLINK if you pair this with a LG BD player and run both through an A/V Receiver. I have not had a chance to test the 3D yet.

A THX certified display guarantees screen quality that exceeds the display standard specification in both hardware and software. The THX Certified Display program adheres to the strictest engineering standards regarding color accuracy, luminance, black levels, and more. To earn certification, Infinia passed rigorous laboratory testing covering more than 400 data points. The result is Infinia's THX Cinema and Right Room modes, which deliver an compromised cinematic experience at home.

Intelligent Sensor: The LG Infinia LED-LCD TV's Intelligent Sensor automatically optimizes the picture to the lighting and color conditions in the room for a more enjoyable viewing experience. Unlike other sensors which can only sense brightness of ambient light, LG's "Intelligent Sensor" uses 4,096 sensing steps to evaluate its surroundings. Using a sophisticated algorithm, the LG processes picture quality elements including brightness, contrast, color, sharpness and white balance. The result is a picture optimized for it's surroundings, more pleasing to watch and which can also save up to 50% in power consumption.
