Amazing picture. Didn't think there would be such a noticeable improvement over regular Blu-ray and HD.

Here's a nice surprise: LG doesn't make you pay top dollar for their best picture quality. Their entire 2017 4K OLED TV lineup uses the exact same panel and video processing.
When my ancient, enormous projection TV finally bit the dust recently, I replaced it with one of LG's 55" OLED models. For years I've been wowed by OLED demos here at Crutchfield and at electronics shows. But living with OLED has convinced me even more that it produces the best picture currently available.
The OLED screen material is an organic substance that glows when it's activated by an electric current. The screen's pixel layer is made of this self-illuminating carbon-based material — each pixel is its own light source which can be independently switched on and off, so there's no need for a backlight with all its limitations.
Each and every OLED pixel — actually every sub-pixel — can switch off completely, producing absolute black. It's this ability that gives OLED it's unbeatable contrast and black levels. LG's OLED design also delivers brilliant colors. In typical TVs, each pixel is made up of three sub-pixels — red, green and blue — to create the color palette. LG's 4 Color Pixel technology adds a white sub-pixel to enhance both color range and brightness.
Actually, LG's 2017 OLED models deliver higher peak brightness than last year's models, and offer a larger color palette. The OLED55C7P vividly demonstrates the extraordinary realism of the latest 4K content, both streamed and on 4K Blu-ray. And if you often watch TV with family or friends, you'll be impressed at the way OLED images maintain exceptional contrast and color even for viewers seated off to the sides.
Lately, TV makers have shifted their focus from building TVs with more pixels, to technologies that result in better pixels that produce more vivid, colorful, and lifelike images. The most important of these is HDR (High Dynamic Range), which expands the picture contrast range with both deeper blacks and brighter highlights. You can find HDR-enhanced streamed video content from Netflix® and Amazon Instant Video, and on virtually every 4K Blu-ray movie.
The OLED55C7P not only supports the required HDR 10 format, but also the more sophisticated Dolby Vision™ format, which is a dynamic system that is able to adjust brightness and color levels in response to the video signal on a scene-by-scene basis. LG's Active HDR circuitry analyzes and optimizes HDR 10 content scene by scene, bringing it closer to what Dolby Vision achieves.
The '55C7P's built-in web apps give you instant access to a nearly limitless selection of entertainment including streamed video from services like Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu. The colorful webOS 3.5 user interface lets you customize your home screen to access the apps you use most, and easily switch between them.
LG's motion-sensing Magic Remote is simple and fun to use. You can point, click, scroll and even speak into the remote to find exactly what you want, searching across apps, movies, TV shows and the web, all at the same time.

Amazing picture. Didn't think there would be such a noticeable improvement over regular Blu-ray and HD.
Awesome picture!! Great purchase experience, you guys are great!
The color is the first thing that stands. After having a chance to watch some favorite programs, you can begin to compare against the previous picture. Quite a few times, I've gone "Wow, look at the difference". In some close up facial scenes, I was surprised at the variation of color. It brings out the beauty of colorful makeup and rosy cheeks. It expands the color palette instead compressing it. This set replaced a nice but older 46" 1080p Sony Bravia. The Sony was a side-lit LCD and as such, had just a bit of clouding common to that LCD style, but overall it had a very good picture. One of the nicest features of the new OLED set is that you can calibrate the individual HDMI ports. For example, the cable, gaming, and dvd connections can be customized to your own tastes. There are quite a few sources that you can find for calibration and the TV has a nice array of settings you can adjust. Make sure the set is warm (on maybe a couple of hours, or more if it was just shipped in cold weather). The light to dark contrast may take some getting used to. It seems like some programs are done with more balanced lighting while others intentionally use dramatic lighting. It takes a little fine-tuning to get a comfortable balance. Again, it's easy to adjust. While we don't use the TV speakers, it's nice that they don't take up any area on the sides. The footprint of the 55 is the same as our old 46 and so it fit right in. Overall, it's a beautiful T
Pros: Beautiful color, stunning contrast, easy to calibrate with lots of adjustability.
Cons: It's not really a con but it may take a little time to pick out your favorite settings when calibrating the set.
Fantastic picture. Fairly easy to set up. Used settings from Consumer Reports review. Quick shipment. Well packed. Called Crutchfield tech about picture glitch that turned out to be a cable and not tv problem. Got through to tech quickly and he helped me figure out what was happening. Very happy with Crutchfield and would definitely consider using them again for tech purchases.
Pros: Excellent picture and sound
Awesome product, awesome company to deal with. Great service.
WOW! Watching Planet Earth II and seeing places we've been to in person that look better on this TV than real life. Truly Amazing!
Pros: Amazing picture
Cons: Price but worth it
Nice picture as expected with vivid colors. Wish the stand was a bit taller and darker.
The TV arrived when expected and was easy to set up. The picture quality is great and we have watched several Blue-Ray disks along with the big game and all looked fantastic. Like that you can adjust the sound and picture settings for each input type (TV, HDMI, App etc.). The sound was better than expected and doesn't seem muffled like on many flat screen TV's because the speakers are in the back and although these are, it still projects sound forward very well. Also like the thin bezel.
Pros: Picture quality Individual source settings for sound/picture Thin bezel Decent sound from built in speakers
Cons: Remote is not illuminated, making it hard to find the buttons when the room is dark.
Very clear picture. Colors really pop. Streaming is excellent.
WOW, Love this OLED TV!!! It is Amazing! Highly recommend this tv to anyone who's looking to upgrade!
Got this as a gift for Christmas. Arrived on time (actually took less time than we thought it would to get here). Crutchfield was great and verified the purchase prior to shipping as it was a new address for the account & they were very easy to work with. Now the TV - LOVE IT. Interface is easy to use and set up. Picture is amazing and the sound is really good for a flat screen TV. I recommend taking the time to set up the sound, made a huge difference (we have an awkward space which makes acoustics a challenge) . The screen is ultra thin. It's wider at the bottom where the mount sits and all the inputs go in BUT still thinner than our old 42". Worked with our old TV mount perfectly! 200x300 Vesa Pattern. Highly recommend this TV.
Pros: Picture, ultra thin. Works with standard Vesa Pattern mount (200x300 pattern). Lightweight (a good 10lbs lighter than our old 42" TV)
Cons: White back shows dust and dirt easily. Shiny Screen is a bit reflective when watching dark (COLOR) shows/scenes.
Pros: Clarity, crystal clear and sharp picture. Didn'known just how much technology has improved in recent years
Excellent picture and very good sound. No logos on t v and a very small one on the stand. Only had the T V for two weeks. Burn in may be a problem down the road but I will try an avoid it. Screen is quite shiny and reflects lights and windows in the room. Quite easy set up and QUICK delivery. Crutchfield's service is wonderful.
Pros: Great picture and sound
Cons: Potential burn in and glossy screen
My son recommended this particular television, so that's why I ordered it. It truly is amazing. I loved the first one so much that I bought a second one. I highly recommend Crutchfield to friends and family. You got it right.
Pros: Customer service, delivery, quality product, amazing picture and sound
Excellent picture and sound out of the box. Checked Consumer Reports for picture setup. Found other info on LG web site and YouTube, with various videos. We don't play video games, so not worried about burn-in. Plenty of picture set-up options to choose from, and can be daunting. I'm one that likes detailed directions and setup advice. But the user manual is very lacking, leaving you to go to the LG site for information. I would have liked an option on the LG site to down load and print detailed picture setup recommendations. One big reason for buying from Crutchfield is that help is available when you need it.
Pros: Picture, sound and voice remote.
Cons: Poor detailed setup instructions.
Very pleased with the product and service!
Great picture, good sound. I love the user-friendly interface and the ease of switching from live TV to Netflix, Amazon etc. The set itself is comparatively light weight for the size. This made it easy to mount on a full motion arm mount. It was shipped immediately after ordering and arrived when promised in excellent condition.
Pros: Picture, user interface software, ease of changing settings, magic remote control
Cons: Haven't discovered one yet.
The motion rate is poor for non-HD shows-otherwise extraordinary in every way!!
Very impressed with this TV after 2 months of use. Amazing picture, many functions, and very fast interface. Even more impressed with Crutchfield: competitive prices and great service. For example, I was able to get 2 price reductions after the purchase thanks to their 60-day price guarantee.
So far very good, don't like the magic remote because don't know how I would get to setting without it.
I already had a LG OLED65E7P so the choice when buying a second TV was a no brainer. Best picture I have ever seen and a great overall TV!
I bought this TV after reading many positive reviews. Great picture! The one negative is LG's ergonomics and Magic Wand Remote, which seems different for the sake of being different. Once I got used to it though and made the needed picture adjustments it's all good! I would buy this TV again but would probably consider a Samsung non-curved a little more seriously.
Very nice OLED tv although I do not particularly like the remote.
Very nice TV that is easy to use and has absolutely excellent picture lighting, clarity and color(s). We have a very large living room with a vaulted ceiling and several large windows that face the south, so we get an enormous amount of sun light throughout the day. We have no issue being able to see the picture screen with full sun light and the glare/reflection at some significant angles is very minimal. The TV has an excellent viewing angles, it doesn't matter how far of center you are the picture is top notch. This TV replaced a 10yr old Mitsubishi Diamond DLP. Audio sync was off, have dish network and fixed it by changing setting on DISH Receiver to just PCM sound. If you have DOLBY and PCM the audio will be off.
Pros: Brightness, Clarity, Viewing Angles, Appearance.
Cons: LG doesn't provide an owners manual. It appears you need to down load and print it yourself.
I have been very impressed with the picture quality of this television. It is the best picture I have ever seen. I am still trying to learn all of the controls to navigate the menus. The navigation is not as intuitive as one would like. That is why I have rated the product at 4 stars.
Pros: Picture quality, profile, weight.
Cons: Menus and navigation.
Now that I have everything adjusted to my liking, the picture is incredible. My former television (Samsung JS8500) had a great picture, but the OLED takes it to a completely different level. I can't get enough of the color depth and resolution. Movies are a revelation.
Pros: Depth of Color and resolution
Cons: The blacks are so black it takes some contrast adjustments to get the detail.
Stunningly clear picture with excellent contrast and no degradation in image even when viewed at a wide angle to the side. Very good sound. However, intermittent horizontal white line at very bottom of screen that may be a defect. Some issues with audio/video sync my old LCD set never had. Unpacking the set was a bit of a challenge, as was making sense of how to attach its stand.
Pros: Stunningly clear picture with excellent contrast and no degradation in image even when viewed at a wide angle to the side. Very good sound.
Cons: Intermittent horizontal white line at very bottom of screen; still trying to see if it's a defect. Some issues with audio/video sync my old LCD set never had.
Picture quality is the best you can get and the C7 series has good sound as well - you may not need a sound bar. As always Crutchfield is the best - I ordered on Wed. PM and got the set Fri AM-- In the busy Christmas season -- Thanks!
Very easy set up. Color is out standing. Not the best remote controller in the world.
Pros: Easy set up
Cons: no back light on remote controll
This TV is so clear and lifelike, it is totally captivating. It is easy to watch from different angles or in a brightly lit room. The built-in sound system is very good also. I haven't found anything that I don't like about this set.
Great picture; cool thin screen! I'm having some trouble with the over[powering bass, but that's an issue with the sound bar the tech hooked up to the TV. Can you give me a number to contact him?
So far love the picture. Colors are so bright. Still getting used to remote. Only had TV a week
Fantastic picture, tons of options, easy to follow and understand selections, remote is as well very simple and easy to follow. Thanks, and the wait of buying a new tv for 25 plus years was worth it.
I have owned my LG OLED55C7P TV for two weeks. The picture is terrific, my better contrast levels in black/dark ares of the picture, bright picture. Only disappointment is that picture quality issues with cable and streaming are easier to see with a higher quality OLED TV. I do miss having a complete manual in the shipping box. FYI - this TV is adequate, the more expensive model with a built-in sound bar is not worth the additional cost - picture quality is exactly the same.
If you want to buy the best TV available this is it, stunningly beautiful pictures with advanced features that future proofs your purchase for years
Pros: Great picture and advanced features to futureproof your purchase
Cons: Difficult to setup too many calls to Crutchfield techs, who were great
Very impressed with this TV. I replaced my 2008 model Panasonic Plasma hoping for something that provided a similar viewing experience. Great viewing angels and colors. The brightness setting are too bright for me out of the box, and I had to turn them down. They system also has an easy on your eyes mode that reduces the about of blue light making it easier on your eyes. This is similar to the night time modes found on many tablets and Windows 10 PC's. I really like the Web OS operating system, although I will be using an Apple TV for the majority of my streaming needs. Once you setup the new TV remember to check for system updates. LG released a fairly significant firmware update the first of November that adds many feature enhancements. If your looking for one of the best TV's on the market today certainly consider the LG OLED 55C7P.
Pros: Excellent picture and operating interface
Cons: Magic remote pointer takes some time getting use too.
The picture on this TV is exceptional. There are MANY different settings for the picture which can be tedious to adjust because they are not all located in one place in the settings menu. The installation and hook-up of peripheral devices to the HDMI ports was simple ... EXCEPT MY CABLE DVR BOX IS NOT "SEEN" BY THE TV and therein lies the problem. I have a Cisco 8742HDC model. The Spectrum Tech rep did extensive testing over the phone and we tried a number of things to see if we could isolate the problem. No luck; all HDMI ports worked with the other devices (I tested them). I rebooted the box manually at least 4 times; twice with the TV on and twice with the TV off. The Spectrum tech rep rebooted from their office and confirmed the cable box was working - which I already knew because when I switched it on the default on channel displayed and using my favorites button on the cable box remote I could cycle through all of my favorites with no problem. I even tried the cable box on another TV we have and it worked flawlessly. Then I purchased a converter box to plug the coaxial OUT from the cable box and to plug the HDMI connection from the converter out HDMI port to the HDMI in port on the TV. That didn't work either. Perhaps a newer model of cable box will work - but then I loose all of my recordings. FRUSTRATED! And I do NOT know if that will solve the problem as I write this review - that's my next step. Good sound on internal speakers.
Pros: Picture. Easy set-up for most peripherals via HDMI connections. Internal speakers are surprisingly good.
Cons: Does not recognize my Cisco 8742HDC cable box. Many different attempts to fix this did NOT work. Frustrating! Still no cable reception.
Overall a superb picture. Blacks are absolute. Colors snap. At this early stage of ownership I still need to experiment to get more detail out of black images, ie clothing. They come across as solid black and the creases, folds, etc. are not discernible.
Pros: Crisp. Clean. Rich colors. Black blacks.
Cons: Details within blacks are difficult to ascertain.
I purchased this TV to replace a 10 year old Panasonic Viera Plasma TV and I was blown away by the color and depth and that is in 1080P. I have yet to see itin 4K as I don't any 4K sources. I am very impressed with the quality of the picture and recommend it to anyone
Pros: Great picture
Cons: No owners manuel
I was hoping this LG OLED would be as good as my long retired Pioneer Elite Plasma. Since, I had switched to the higher end LED models from Samsung but they never matched the picture I had experienced with the Pioneer. Blacks were always a dark gray, not black, no matter how much I fiddled with the settings. Colors were good but I missed them being draped against a true black. The LG OLED is by far the best picture I have experienced. Black blacks, great color, and a picture that has a sense of depth. This is a secondary TV and now I am trying to sell my 2 year old primary home theater 65" Samsung so I can replace it with a 65" LG OLED. Now I understand what all the buzz is about with OLED displays. You will be amazed if you buy this TV. I do recommend buying from Crutchfield. I have purchased several pricey AV items and they all were delivered in a few days and all were unblemished, factory new.
Pros: Black blacks, great colors, picture has a sense of depth. Nice selection of apps.
Cons: A bit pricey but worth it if you want the best picture available.
Great tv - so thin with a great picture. I don't much care for the remote - it seems they took an old design and added a laser - but other than that the tv is great
Pros: Beautiful picture, screen is thin
Cons: Remote is clunky
I had a 2007 Samsung TV that I moved with me 4 times and a 5th time to my first home. It was my 80 pound love that I will always cherish in life. Its 2017, time to move on to bigger and better, and thats just what I did. I received this TV two weeks ago and just had my dear friend Katie help me set it up. Since we both weigh a combined 250 pounds, the unboxing and setup was mapped out, designed, and executed flawlessly. That night I was supposed to take her to dinner for helping me, but I couldn't walk away from the picture I was witnessing on the screen. Here we are a week later; I haven't been to work, my bills are pilling up, there is no food in the house, and my dog hates me. This is the sweetest TV I have ever laid eyes on, I did 4 weeks of research prior to purchasing and spoke to "experts" via email. Everything I wanted and more is here with me now, a love connection that will last through time and space. I will always remember my 2007 Samsung but my heart now belongs to my LG.
Pros: Everything this TV offers
I have wanted an OLED set since they became available. Thanks to Crutchfield I can finally afford one. Beautiful picture and very easy to set up. Am delighted with this TV and the great price that Crutchfield offered it for. Many thanks!!!!
Pros: beautiful picture. nice remote.
Cons: wish it had HBOGO app!!!
Great picture. The manual supplied with the product was totally inadequate.
Great picture, very good sound, wide range of settings. As with many recent electronic products the printed Owner's Manual is very skimpy. Look for the User Guide, it is one of the on-screen tabs and provides a lot of information. Does not radiate heat as my old plasma TV did.
Pros: Excellent overall. Sound so good I no longer use my external speakers.
Cons: Skimpy printed Owner's Manual replaced by thorough on-screen User Guide.
Outstanding product! Picture quality is amazing. Easy set up. Simple remote. I'm very pleased with this purchase
Pros: lightweight, thin design makes for easy hanging easy set up amazing picture quality
Great TV! Love the picture, even live and non 4K content looks really good. The no besell ultra thin screen is really futuristic looking.
Pros: Great 4K poctur!
Cons: Should have gone with the 65 inch model!
Terrific television all the way around. Incredible detail and color - including blacks. Easy set up, great smart TV features. Impressively thin bezel. TV does a great job scaling up to 4K. This OLED TV really shines with HDR content. Great service from the folks at Crutchfield, too.
Pros: Picture Detail Design HDR
Cons: None with the TV Wall mount attach point is low on the back of the set - requires mount to be relocated lower on wall. Not the end of the world.
Easy set up right out of the box, with LG guides walking you through. Great picture quality and the interface with apps is easy to use and makes sense. The remote is handy, aside from the arrow showing up every time you use it. It connected easily to our speaker bar, but has pretty good audio on it's own, better than last years model. The reviews are right, it is one great tv!
Pros: Sound w/o separate speaker system. Picture quality, black is black.
Performance of the TV is excellent. The image quality is stunning with 4K content and the built in digital streaming features compare favorably to anything I have seen. Matter of fact the TV streaming interface (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu etc) is so good, I did not use my Roku 4K box to feed it, instead opting to use the built in interface already inside the tv (thus eliminating the need for a roku box). This is the first TV I have experienced that I can say the built in streaming interface is good enough to dump the Roku! My one complaint: This is one heavy tv! Don't let those side pictures showing its thin profile fool you! I am not a fan at all of the location for the 4, M6mounting holes which are all located below the TV's centerline. Most TV's I have owned had the holes for the mount more centered so the weight is carried at the center of gravity. This tv when mounted is very top heavy. This means that an articulating tilt mount wants to tilt forward (and keep tilting). When I first tightened the tilt mount I stripped a bolt and wound up needing to upgrade my hardware to a more hardened bolt. Because the tv is so top heavy my Sanus fully articulating mount would not keep it at the proper down angle (it would drift forward). Heavier bolts have cured the problem for now. Also, because the M6 mounting holes are low on the tv, using a pre-existing mount means the TV will be higher up on the wall and require you to move the mount.
Pros: Stunning 4K picture with 4K content Best streaming interface I have seen Mouse Pointer Remote is COOL!
Cons: M6 mounting holes are below the center of gravity making the TV top heavy. Existing mounts will need to be lowered to keep TV in same location Despite thin profile, TV is quite heavy.
Although it takes for me to received my order longer, it is worth the wait. My new Tv replaced my 10 year old HD Sony Tv. It was so easy to install. From the wall I connected the cable to my cable box. Then I connected the HDMI cable from my box to the HDMI4 port of my new TV and bingo when I turned my new TV on, the clear sharp and vivid picture that I ever seen on my screen. Perfect TV and easy to install.
Unbelievable clarity and blacks that are really black. I use a Marantz SR6011 for my surround sound but when I was doing setup I used the TV speakers. They are not bad! If I had this in my bedroom I would be very happy with the sound produced.
Pros: Lots of HDMI side facing plus one backfacing makes connections easy
Cons: None so far.
It's hard to say anything bad about this TV. The picture quality is like nothing I've ever seen. Rich, varied colors, amazing background detail and excellent sound. I unpacked with care (there are instructions, please follow them) and mounted using a 3rd party VESA in maybe an hour. Sits about three inches from the wall. Most notably, there is a certain "softness" to the images that just doesn't exist in other LED TV's I've seen. Beautiful pastel colors I didn't know existed! Excellent image definition even in high contrast scenes. The software is also very easy to use and the LG apps include Sling TV, Amazon, Netflix, VUDU and Youtube. You can easily "cut the cord" to get rid of cable with this TV. One thing that's important to note is that this is a C7, which I got because I didn't need the upgraded sound systems of the higher, more expensive models (I added a home theater system for about as much money as the price difference for the next model up). However, the model B7 (less expensive) DOES NOT support Dolby ATMOS!!! I was ready to buy the B7 and noticed this in the product description at the last minute. If you are looking for state of the art home theater, you will want the C7 (about $200 more than the B7). All in all, this is an expensive TV, but I find it very worthwhile!
Pros: Image quality, subtle colors, rich background details Easy to use software, useful apps in menu Excellent product support from LG and Crutchfield 55" fairly easy for one person to mount Great sound through a home theater (Wired speaker) sound system
Cons: If I can find any, I'll let you know.
Very happy with this TV. I did all the research and read all the reviews and decided that it was worth it for the price and the new technology. Crutchfield was A+.
Awesome picture, truly the best there is at this time. I replaced my Panasonic 50" plasma with this Oled and I couldn't be happier. While the plasma does have an exceptional clear picture at HD content, this Oled at 4K is really amazing and much clearer than the plasma! I hooked up this tv with Monster HDMI cables and the audio through my Yamaha receiver with 6 speaker surround sound and I am blown away by the sound of it. This Oled technology does not disapoint at all. Highly recommended.
Pros: Lifelike picture when viewing HD content and blu ray dvd's. Recommend researching the best possible calibration settings available online to really enjoy the abilities of this tv.
Cons: None to write about at all.
Replaced a smaller 10 year old Samsung that I thought still had a great picture until I saw the OLED! If you are sitting on the fence about buying this tv, just go for it! You won't be sorry!
Cons: Can't stop watching!
Visually stunning after making the jump from a 10 year old Panasonic plasma. The only downside is that it now shows the flaws in lesser quality programming with greater detail (ie file grain).
Cons: Getting used to all the picture settings and paying a premium for the OLED technology.
Absolutely awesome picture! Replaced a ten year old large screen TV; so much difference in picture quality. Much learning to do to operate remote.
Pros: The quality of the picture. Almost sets itself up.
Cons: Takes a long time to get used to the remote.
Outstanding picture. Well worth the wait and expense. Replaced a Samsung plasma that died after 3 years and spent the past year researching the various display technologies and brands. Glad I went with the LG. Movies and sports look great. Impressed by the vibrant colors. My only gripe is that the TV doesn't mount as flush to the wall as you would think for a panel this thin (used the recommended LG mount).
Pros: Blacks, vibrant colors, HDR, simple Smart TV OS
Cons: Expensive, white plastic back panel
For several years now I have been using OLED screens on a tablet and on cameras. I love the accuracy and range of colors including true black. During that time the glowing gray that is supposed to be black on LCD screens has become more and more annoying. Finally the time came for a major home-theater upgrade, including Dolby Atmos and this TV. The glowing gray problem is certainly solved. When displaying an all-black screen in a dark room, the screen literally disappears. Brightness is exceptional too, probably due to the addition of white to each red-green-blue pixel group. I am thrilled with the results when playing a 4K Blu-ray with HDR. Don't expect miracles with source material created for ordinary HD, but it has quality up-conversion to the higher resolution. It's noticeably better even with old Blu-rays. With some of the 4K Blu-rays of ultra high quality now available, such as Planet Earth II (highly recommended), outdoor scenes are like looking through a window. Shadows are dark and the sun is almost blinding. With white balance set to Warm1, all colors seem to be very accurate without any calibration needed. Controlling the TV is unique in my experience. The motion sensor in the RF remote moves a pointer around the screen. Just click on what you want to select. Pointer not showing? Shake the remote. I definitely like this better than having a bunch of buttons and trying to find the right one in the dark. It may be a bit expensive but is well
Pros: Fantastic picture. True blacks, bright whites. Innovative remote control.
I have always been a SONY TV guy (40yrs)! The only LG products I've ever owned are a keyboard and mouse. I've been wanting a OLED TV for sometime and when Sony finally came back out with an OLED it was simply to expensive. I decided to try out the 55C7P thinking I would be returning it but no way. I've had the TV for 3 weeks now and really enjoy it. It took time to get used to the menu layout. This TV sits in my living room and is hooked up to a Marantz NR1607 receiver with an OPPO UDP 203 Blue-Ray Player and a pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers. It's been great re-watching my favorite DVD's on this TV. My 5.1 set up down stairs has an XBR-55X930D, Denon receiver, Elac tower, book shelf and center channel speakers and I much prefer the LG OLED TV (sorry Sony). I'm not a technical guy but I would say you would not be disappointed with an LG OLED TV.
Cons: None so far!
Great picture, good sound. I had difficulty figuring out the controls but I am learning. The way the TV is packed it would be very difficult to repack if you needed to return for any reason.
Pros: Great Picture, very good sound from the set . Worth the effort
Cons: Once you unpack it, at least I will never get it packed again. Big learning curve with controls.
Great picture, decent sound, very nice view from the sides. Make no mistake this is an investment but I think you will have this TV for a long time!
Pros: Great picture quality , easy to use apps, nice viewing from the sides, nice slim profile!
Cons: Sound is ok,for the price I expected better!!
This tv is amazing. It also future proofs you with Dolby vision and atmos. Picture is a whole level up especially when viewing from sides or distance.
Pros: Picture, easy menus, connected apps, lots of tweakability
Cons: Sound is good but with the hype I was expecting a little more.
Confidence with Crutchfield and the LG OLED TVS they sell!! I have purchased two LG OLEDS in 2016 and am very happy with the quality of these great tvs!! I just replaced an old Plasma with the new 2017 LG OLED and must say these tvs are the best on the market. Amazing picture no matter what you are watching ! I'll keep looking for the advances in technology with great interest. I highly recommend the products no matter the cost!!!

OLED: "OLED" means organic light-emitting diode, named for the advanced material used in the TV's screen. The secret to OLED is this unique light-emitting diode structure with its electroluminescent layer, a special film made from an organic, carbon-based compound that emits its own light when hit with an electric current. A thin-film transistor (TFT) backplane switches each specific pixel on and off. This configuration enables a thinner, lighter form factor, higher resolution and big, home theater-ready screen sizes. Because OLED TVs do not require a backlight, pixels that are switched off are truly black, so OLED achieves deeper black levels and a higher contrast ratio when compared to LCD and LED-LCD TVs with conventional backlighting. OLED technology also increases energy efficiency.
10-Bit Panel: Thanks to its 10-bit panel, the LG OLED TV is capable of displaying billions of colors with fine steps of gradation. With so many more colors to express, you'll see a picture that is more detailed and natural when compared to conventional 8-bit panels. The 10-bit panel even holds up from wide viewing angles, so now everyone in the room will have an ideal view of the action.
Ultra HD 4K Resolution & Upscaler: The LG OLED TV has a display resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 (4K) and will display all video at that resolution, regardless of input signal, thanks to its Perfect Mastering Engine & 4K Upscaler. 4K provides four times higher resolution than current 1080p high-definition TVs with a total of 8.3 million pixels. Its detail is so vivid and crisp, even when viewed from close distances; it's nearly impossible to discern a single pixel, even from inches away. Enjoy incredibly flawless images, vivid colors, and picture details as never before. More benefits of Ultra-HD 4K include:
HDR (High Dynamic Range) Video: The LG OLED TV supports a variety of HDR technologies including HDR10, HLG HDR, and Dolby Vision. HDR reproduces a greater dynamic range of luminosity or brightness levels, bringing greater contrast & wider color spectrum to the screen. This increased contrast reveals the subtle nuances of the image, from detailed blacks and shadows to the brightest whites and colors, plus greater depth. Previously hidden areas of dark shadow and sunlight are now full of clarity and detail.
Ultra Luminance & NBO Polarizer: Ultra-HD picture quality becomes even more dynamic with an extended range of brightness, thanks to LG's Ultra Luminance technology. By enabling higher peak brightness (up to 900 Nits) and an enhanced contrast ratio, Ultra Luminance makes 4K & HDR images even more striking. In addition, a NBO polarizer has been added to the OLED TV's existing anti-reflection film to enhance black levels and reduce reflections from ambient light.
Video Inputs: The LG OLED television features HDMI 2.0a and Composite video inputs. All of the television's video inputs are displayed at 3,840 x 2,160 (4K).
Note: The TV has built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and Digital Cable (QAM) tuners with an RF-coaxial input, so you don't need a separate set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted Digital Cable signals.
Picture Settings: The LG OLED TV provides preset, user, and expert adjustment of the television's picture settings.
Magic Zoom: Magic Zoom enables you to magnify objects and letters anywhere on the screen without any degradation in picture quality, using the included Magic Remote.
Multi-View: The Multi-View feature lets you watch a live TV broadcast and an external HDMI input source simultaneously on the screen. Multi-View provides two smaller side-by-side images that are positioned in the middle of the screen (does not fill up the whole screen).
Dolby Atmos Support: This LG OLED TV currently supports Dolby Atmos playback via Dolby Digital Plus through Internet streaming apps (like Netflix & Vudu), over-the-air/cable broadcast, and USB 3.0. Dolby Atmos playback delivered via Dolby TrueHD through Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray is not currently supported, but will be enabled with a software update (no ETA).
ARC (Audio Return Channel): The Audio Return Channel of the TV's HDMI 2 input enables the television, via a single HDMI cable, to send audio data "upstream" to your AV receiver; increasing user flexibility and eliminating the need for any separate S/PDIF audio connection. This feature allows audio to be sent from the television to your AV receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio/video to the television. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to the TV. ARC allows audio from the TV tuner, Network connection, inserted USB device, HDMI inputs, or any analog connected device to be heard through your ARC compatible AV receiver via the television's HDMI ARC input.
Note: Both the television and the receiver must support ARC for this function to work properly. When connecting an AV receiver that is compatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), connect it to the TV's HDMI 2 input. If connecting a system that is incompatible Audio Return Channel (ARC), an additional audio connection via Digital Audio Out (Optical) is necessary.
Digital Audio Output: The optical digital output terminal will output Dolby Digital/DTS (when available) or 2 channel PCM. The digital optical output terminal only sends an audio signal in Dolby Digital/DTS when receiving Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound from a digital broadcast channel through the tuner, network apps, HDMI inputs, and USB ports on the OLED TV. The optical digital audio output will only output in 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via stereo RCA.
Note: You can choose to turn the television speakers off or leave them on with the TV's optical digital output active.
LG Sound Sync w/ Bluetooth: Thanks to the TV's LG Sound Sync and built-in Bluetooth, you can pair a single set of Bluetooth headphones or one Bluetooth speaker with the LG OLED TV. You are able to stream audio from any of the the TV's built-in sources or connected sources. The TV's built-in speakers and audio outputs will be deactivated when streaming audio to Bluetooth headphones or speaker. The Bluetooth audio output's volume is variable, so volume of your Bluetooth speaker will need to be controlled by both the TV and the Bluetooth speaker for adequate volume level.
Note: Not compatible with all Bluetooth devices.
Magic Sound Tuning: With the Magic Sound Tuning feature, you can detect the space where your TV is installed using your Magic Remote's microphone to optimize the audio of your TV for your environment. When the initial detection is complete, you can select your desired audio mode.
OLED Surround: LG's OLED Surround technology provides simulated multi-channel surround sound (including Dolby Atmos) from the speakers built into the television.
Equalizer: The TV provides preset EQ modes. Choose from Smart Sound, Standard, Clear Voice III, Cinema, Sports, Music, or Game. You can also adjust the TV's sound manually by using the 5-band EQ (100Hz, 300Hz, 1khz, 3khz, 10kHz).
Auto Volume: You can set the TV's volume to automatically adjust for different broadcasting stations, so you can always listen to channels at the desired volume, even after switching the channels.
AV Sync: If the video and sound of the television are not synced, you can adjust the delay of the audio output to match the video.
Wired or Wireless Network Connection: The LG OLED TV supports a wired or wireless network connection. Via the TV's network & internet connection, you can enjoy select online entertainment services. You can also access music, video, and still-image files stored on your computer.
Note: LG recommends a home network connection speed of at least 2.5 Mbps recommended for standard definition, 10 Mbps for high definition, and 20 Mbps for ultra-high definition.
LG Smart TV Apps: LG Smart TV Apps allows you to access a variety of online entertainment services and content directly on the LG TV through its network & internet connection. You can quickly and conveniently browse for TV Shows, Movies, and more to watch immediately. You can also download and use apps from various categories such as education, entertainment, lifestyle, news, and games. Click here for the latest compatible apps (subscriptions & fees may apply for some online services and content). Below is a list of some of the most popular apps from LG Smart TV Apps.
Note: 4K & HDR network streaming requires a network speed of 20Mbps or greater. A wired Ethernet connection is recommended over a wireless WiFi connection for better performance. If you desire a WiFi connection, then use a dual-band Gigabit wireless-N router or better for 4K/HDR streaming.
Channel Plus: The Channel Plus app (powered by XUMO) offers 50+ free streaming channels sports, news, entertainment, and lifestyle programming (including Fox Sports, Sports Illustrated, TIME, People, and more). The Channel Plus app features a handy on-screen guide which is integrated into the TV's over-the-air TV channel guide for easy, seamless access. Click here for a complete list of Channel Plus app stations.
Web Browser: The LG Smart TV features a built-in web browser that lets you search the Internet for a particular website by URL or keyword searches. The web browser supports only HTML5 media and not Flash Plug-in. The web browser only replays the following media file formats - JPEG/PNG/GIF. Not all websites will be available for download, because of size and content.
Notes: Compatible audio formats include MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV/PCM, & OGG. Compatible video files include AVI/Xvid, MPEG 1/2/4, MKV, Motion JPEG, MOV, WMV, & Vob. Compatible photo files include JPEG, PNG, BMP, JPS, & MPO.
CyberSecurity Assurance Program Certification: LG's webOS 3.5 Security Manager smart TV platform has been certified for its effective cybersecurity capabilities by UL, the world's foremost expert in safety and sustainability; a first in the smart TV category. UL's 2900-1 Cybersecurity Assurance Program (CAP) tested the webOS 3.5 Security Manager for malware susceptibility and vulnerabilities, software weaknesses and security controls that help protect users' private information. UL assessed the effectiveness of each webOS 3.5 security layer by subjecting the software to a variety of virtual network penetrations and vulnerability attacks. LG webOS 3.5's compliance in these categories provides the foundation for a safe and secure smart TV experience in your home.
Software Update: You can update the TV with the latest software to enhance the product operation and/or add new features via the TV's network connection. Visit LG's Support Site for the latest firmware/software updates.
webOS 3.5: LG's latest webOS 3.5 on-screen menu system is easy to learn and use. Now you can spend less time navigating and more time enjoying the premium content that you and your family want, accessed right through the television, thanks to LG's intuitive webOS 3.5 user interface.
Content Search: The LG OLED TV offers unique tools to search for TV programming, online apps, and inputs.
Quick Menu & Quick Access: The Quick Menu provides quicker access to commonly used functions like Picture Mode, Sound Mode, Aspect Ratio. The Quick Access feature allows you to assign Channels, Inputs, & Apps to the remote's 1-9 numeric keypad for easier & quicker access.
Netflix Recommended TV: Netflix Recommended TV is an evaluation program recognizing TVs that offer better performance, easier app access, and new features that make for a better smart TV. When you see the Netflix Recommended TV logo, it means the TV has passed a rigorous evaluation process based on criteria that Netflix members care about the most. The TV comes with the latest version of Netflix with newest features. It offers easier and faster access to Netflix (including a dedicated button on the remote), quicker playback and start times, and allows you to resume the Netflix app from where you left it.
OLED Gallery: The OLED Gallery mode turns the TV into a digital picture frame, displaying pre-downloaded artwork and even your own USB downloaded picture files (JPEG format only). You choose one piece of artwork or begin a slide-show.
Hearing & Visually Impaired: The LG OLED TV offers Close Captions and a Voice Guide for the hearing and visually impaired. The TV provides Analog Closed Captions and Digital Closed Captions for the hearing impaired. You can also activate Voice Guides that describe the menu options aloud to aid the visually impaired.
Parental Control: Parental Control can be used to block specific channels, ratings, and other viewing sources (external input block). The Parental Control Function is used to block program viewing based on the ratings sent by the broadcasting station. The default setting is to allow all programs to be viewed. Viewing can be blocked by choosing the type of the program and the categories. It is also possible block a specific channel. The Parental Control function is protected by a 4-digit user password.
Energy Saving Feature: The Energy Saving feature helps to save electric power by adjusting the screen brightness; you can select from six modes - Auto, Minimum, Medium, Maximum, Screen Off, or Off.
On/Off & Sleep Timers: You can program the television to turn On and turn Off at a certain time. You can set the On and Off timer to Daily, Mon-Fri, Mon-Sat, Sat-Sun, or Once. You can also set the input, channel, and volume level for the On Timer. If you do not press any button within 2 hours after the TV turns on with the On Timer, the TV will automatically revert back to standby mode. The Sleep Timer turns the TV off at the preset time (10, 20, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, or 240 minutes).
Built-in Customer Support: The LG OLED Smart TV offers built-in customer support to help your learn functions and diagnose problems.
Motion Sensing Remote w/ Microphone: LG's Magic Remote acts as a remote controller, mouse pointer, and voice commander. This included RF remote control uses a 2.4GHz frequency range (2.4-2.4835 GHz; 32-channels) to control the TV up to a distance of 32.8'.
Note: Through the TV's setup menu, you can program the Magic Remote to operate your cable/satellite receiver, Blu-ray player, or Home Theater/Soundbar system.
SIMPLINK: SIMPLINK allows you to control and play other LG AV devices connected with HDMI cable without additional cables and settings, from the television's remote control. SIMPLINK provides the following remote functions.

Really hard to choose between the C7 and B7A. Ultimately, I feel the aesthetics on this one is better, the black border. If you don't mind the border period. I wish I didn't I would've gone with the cheaper option. [ Eduardo Peralta Nov 22, 2017 ]

I am shopping for new tv and want reasonable price with most advanced technology available [ Lily Oct 06, 2017 ]
The OLED technology is stunning! Bright and clear are two words that come to mind. I value the input of other Crutchfield shoppers and this TV has virtually perfect ratings. I liked the thin and light profile. I went and saw this TV and others in person at a big box store and then ordered here. No sales tax, excellent service and I guess in truth, I'm a Crutchfield Junkie! I can buy for less from other online retailers - but I don't trust them to stand behind any problems. [ Adam Oct 05, 2017 ]
Replacing an old Samsung. I hesitated between LG OLED and Samsung QLED. I opted for OLED because I read that it's the better technology overall and especially for a darker room which is my case. [ Eric Sep 21, 2017 ]
The best tv picture available now. Very attractive price too. [ jose Sep 07, 2017 ]

Great TV best picture available [ Bruce Jul 02, 2017 ]
I am looking for a good quality tv with great picture. I am tired if buying lower quality tv. I am also tired of dealing with local box stores where the salesmen try to lead me to by something that they have in stock and have bad customer service. I am excited to go this route with a great tv reviews and good reviews on this companies customer service. I just hope that this was the right decision over the E7 [ Justin Jun 29, 2017 ]
Awesome reviews- no tax. [ ira May 07, 2017 ]
I've had the OLED55 tv for about 6 months now. I don't game and we don't watch it every day, but I have not seen any evidence of burn-in. [ Rene Mar 14, 2018 ]
No, so far. Yes, I have heard of that too. Since I don't use my OLED TV for video games or leave the same screen on for any length of time I don't think the burn-in effect will happen to my TV. Only time can tell. I hope the information is helpful. [ Teddy Mar 13, 2018 ]
I'm not a gamer, but I love the screen. It is noticeably better than other screens and easily noticed by visitors. I've had it for 6 months: reliable and no burn-in. [ Miller Mar 13, 2018 ]
Not to my experience, and I watch a lot of news channels with static logos. The set has performed flawlessly. [ JEFFREY Mar 13, 2018 ]
Not at all [ BRUCE Mar 13, 2018 ]
I can't speak to gaming issues as I don't use it for that, but as far as overall I've noticed no problems with burn-in. There is a "Refresh" function in the Menu that will clean that up should it occur. I've never used it, but know that it's there. One final note...the picture when you're watching a blu-ray or 4k content is simply spectacular. [ Steve Mar 13, 2018 ]
I'm not a gamer; haven't seen any "burn-in." [ James Mar 13, 2018 ]

I have cable tv and have not used an over the air antenna. Sorry I cannot answer you question [ JOHN G Dec 31, 2017 ]
I just purchased an over the air antenna For now I'm using internet and cable which is excellent! Upon delivery Of the antenna I will be able to assess the picture quality. [ Filbert Dec 30, 2017 ]
The TV works like a charm and reception is about the same as it was with the previous display. I have a so-so HD broadcast antenna and the reception in my location isn't so good, not an issue with the LG. [ JEREMY P Dec 30, 2017 ]
Unfortunately, I don't know. We have FIOS cable, and it works very well. [ Henry Dec 30, 2017 ]
I have never tried an over the air antenna. We have satellite and internet reception. [ MARK Dec 30, 2017 ]
I have Directv, so I have no idea [ Richard Dec 30, 2017 ]
I figured it out. Actually you change the HDMI icon by relabeling it to PC mode. This enables the 4:4:4 subsampling. HDMI 4 is the only connection capable of handling 4:4:4. [ Robert Dec 27, 2017 ]
Apparently it is called "HDMI ULTRA HD deep color" found in the TV Picture settongs on the menu. Doesn't specifically say 4:4:4. [ David L. Dec 27, 2017 ]
LG does not refer to it as 4:4:4. Under the General icon you have to enable Ultra HD Hi Depth Color for each HDMI Port you'll need this sub sampling for. Remember that if you enable this on a Port and connect a device that can't use the feature, your device may not work properly. [ Steven Dec 27, 2017 ]
Excellent picture regardless of venue. no problem with motion the only exception might be a little flutter of golf balls on the green, but I have cataracts, soon to be fixed, which might explain my impression. Upscaling of all broadcast definitions makes for beautiful pictures. [ Richard Nov 10, 2017 ]
Everything we watch on it is fabulously bright, colorful, and detailed. I have noticed no issue with motion during sporting events. [ MARK Nov 10, 2017 ]
I love it whatever is on the screen! Great TV [ Lily Nov 10, 2017 ]
I also had the same trepidation but I'm happy to report that everything is greatly improved and have not found a single weakness. [ Filbert Nov 10, 2017 ]
I'm 100% satisfied with motion performance, even when scaling up from 1080p. This TV is very impressive all the way around. [ EEWdad Nov 10, 2017 ]
I'm watching Seahawks football as I am writing. Perfectly clear image. No smearing or streaking. Fantastic image. [ PAUL Nov 10, 2017 ]
If you are referring to screen judder or motion blur while watching sports, I have not noticed any at all. Rapid movement does not appear to affect this set in any mannee. OLED55C7P picture remains absolutely breath taking!!! [ Tom Nov 10, 2017 ]
Jan: I bought this TV in September (2017). We recently mined into a new home, and have DIRECT TV as our TV provider and CenturyLink for out internet (1Gb). TV is not connected to internet yet, but picture on this model via Direct TV is outstanding. No 4K content yet, but I've seen 4K content on this TV before I bought it. Unbelievable. The football games I've watched remind me of when I first saw a BluRay DVD on an early 1080p TV. Chose Crutchfield over Big Box store for my purchase because of their expertise, pricing and warranty. Hope this all helps. [ James Nov 09, 2017 ]
We watch content from multiple sources and styles (movies, sports, tv, netflix). Pic looks great with any digital source regardless of content. My opinion, TV has great image regardless of motion or speed of subject manner. [ Adam Nov 09, 2017 ]
The lower VESA holes are 4.25" from the bottom of the screen edge. I measure the lower hoes are 18" from the side edge. [ Michael Nov 01, 2017 ]
well, having received my LG C755, the dimension I needed, the distance from the bottom edge of the screen, to the 200mm x 300mm VESA lower mounting holes is 4.5 inches (115mm) *measured with a tape measure. This is what I needed to pre-position the mount and recess before receiving the unit. [ kevin1 Oct 31, 2017 ]
Page 6 of the users manual has an illustration of the mounting hole locations but no measurements. [ Michael Oct 31, 2017 ]
For items that can be handled via Priority Mail, yes. This LG TV is too large to be shipped that way though. It has to be specially handled by a freight carrier so, no, we cannot ship it to an APO address. [ Ryan Oct 11, 2017 ] Staff

Per physical measurement at local Best Buy, the footprint for the OLED55C7P at the bottom of the attached stand is: 22-5/8" (W) by 8-1/2" (D). The top of the stand where it attaches to the TV Assembly measures approximately 25-7/8", before tapering to the base. [ William Aug 10, 2017 ]
Thanks for your question. Actually the same picture was used to represent both models. The specs are correct and are the same for both models. Hope this helps. [ Kenny Jul 22, 2017 ] Staff
