Could not be happier -- Crystal Clear picture -- Awesome menus/features -- BUY IT !!!!!

Pros: That this unit exists !!!

Cons: Sound is "good", but not important, I use a digital to analog converter to my receiver --

Accurate color & detail, and excellent value!

Jason from Greenfield, MA on 4/12/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I made the switch from the LCD market to plasma and I am more than impressed. Efficient detail reproduction, and easy to navigate settings to adjust the color display from everything to gaming to my favorite, movie watching. As much as LED LCD tvs seem to impress with features, the ability to see the picture evenly from any angle and the dramatically better black reproduction made this, along with it's superb price point, the tv to choose. Sure, it lacks the "smart tv" apps built in, but seriously, with having an OPPO blu-ray player and xbox 360 for that, those additions just make for a waste of money. This tv also comes with 3 HDMIs, something that several tvs in this price arena do not offer (only 2). A simple setup of the base to the tv, and all was ready to go. (I had to slightly loosed the swivel stand's bolt to get it to swivel.) The sound may not be soundbar quality, but for most of us out there, this is more than enjoyable, with a huge difference from my older Toshiba 37" speakers. While there may be a slightly less amount of black color display compared to higher rated Panasonics, the price difference makes this the best tv in the $1000 range for those a little more conservative with their spending who'd rather save that extra cash for buying the movies & games that I will be enjoying on this screen. Recommended!

Pros: Accurate colors and flesh tones, easy setup, good speakers, easy to use color adjustments

Cons: Slightly less black depth than pricier name brands (though still dramatically better than LED LCDs & LCDs).

This unit is absolutely visually stunning. The picture quality is wonderful.

Pros: Setup and controls were no problem. Picture quality great.

Cons: Speakers however were a let down, they break up constantly. My normal volume is always low at 10 or 12.

Great TV for a large space

Chicago TV Junkie from Chicago, IL on 12/26/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great TV. LG has always made great products, and this 60 in plasma lives up to the brand quality. With a TV this size, one really has to be sure to be seated at least 10 feet from the screen. Since I have a pretty bright room (open floor-to-ceiling windows), sometimes the plasma TV is dim, but that's to be expected. For the money and size, this was a great value purchase.

Pros: Size; Price; Ease of Use

Cons: Versatility of room placement based on light exposure; Number of Audio/Visual output ports

Very nice for the price

Scottydoesntknow from Clovis, CA on 12/22/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great tv for the price. I didn't need 3d or any silly smart apps of any sort, just a nice big tv and this delivered. I've been using it for about a week and am very happy. I have it hooked to a stereo receiver so I have no idea how well it's own sound/speakers work, but the picture is really nice when watching anything HD through cable or a blu ray player. We used a setup program to adjust the picture settings and I'd say we're happy with everything, though the picture could be a tad brighter I think. It puts out much less heat than my old plasma that is now 7 years old and likely uses double the power that this new one does. It's nice and thing, big, 1080, sharp picture, really happy with it

Pros: Price, size, quality, thinness, picture

Cons: Picture is dim, no apps or 3d

Good TV

Chris from Central Indiana on 12/16/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This TV got really good reviews so I bought it when it got down to 900$ this December. Its your basic plasma TV and I just bought for the screen since I connect my home theatre PC and Wii to it to connect to on line media. The TV stand swivels, which is a really cool feature for a TV this big I thought. I have only had it for a couple weeks.

Pros: Good screen. Plenty of inputs. Actually decent sound, better than I expected but not surround sound. Solid build and the bevel around the edges is small/thin. In general it is thin for a 60incher. No tax.

Cons: Sort of heavy but I can lift it by myself with some effort. Better with 2. You will probably have to tweak the settings a bit. If you google you can find some settings for tweaking the picture. Although I would guess almost all new TVs have this issue since its a lot of personal preferance there.

Great deal!

AshBash from Austin, TX on 9/28/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fantastic value for money. There is no point buying a smart TV because they cost a lot and in a few years time the in-built 'smarts' are going to look decidely dumb. Far better and cheaper to buy a dumb TV with a good picture and then buy a video streamer for <$100. You can update the streamer when something newer and better comes out. The picture on this TV is very good. Not the best I have seen, but very good, especially when you consider the price! (Pioneer Elite is wonderful but very expensive!) Considering what I paid at Crutchfield I am delighted. The TV also looks stylish, not something that LG is normally known for but this one does look good. The frame is not as dainty as the frameless LED-backlit LCD displays, but is still small for a plasma. The only thing that this TV lacks that would be nice to have is 3D. But I am not that bothered, 3D always makes me feel strange and who wants to sit there wearing 3D glasses looking like a dork? So I can live without 3D. I used it with a Denon AVR1912 and Energy Classic 5.0 speakers so I can't comment on the LG's sound quality

Pros: Stylish, large, good picture quality, extremely good value for money, no money wasted on 'smarts' that will look extremely dumb in 2-3 years time

Cons: No 3D, not as good picture quality as Pioneer Elite costing 6x as much

I Bought Two

Oradellian from New Jersey on 6/30/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Yes I could have spent more but why? These were the 8th and 9th flat-panels that I've purchased. Great value. Compare very very well with my previous Sony, Samsung and Panasonic models. Remember that technology is changing so fast that you don't want to "invest" in TVs. Buy what you need for the next 18 months and then upgrade.

Pros: Thin, light, large

Cons: People think I'm wealthy

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Like most things, you get what you paid for. For the price it was well worth the money. I could have sacrificed size for quality, but I wanted size. No, it isn't the best quality, but it is pretty good. I'd give it an 80% out of 100. It has enough settings to fiddle with to get the quality you are looking for. If you are a videophile, I'd look elsewhere, but if you just want to drop money into the biggest tv you can afford, this is a good one to get. You will get some glare but that is typical for a plasma. I really only notice it though on a black screen. Otherwise, the reflection isnt all that noticeable. It has two features that help if you get some burn-in, but I havent noticed any at all. It has a very attractive bezel, but who really cares about that? Not the best quality tv, but I'd wager it is the biggest and best you can get for this price range. I dont really see how you can complain about the quality of a 60 inch plasma that you only paid a grand for. Given the cost, I think the quality is fantastic. Your average consumer won't notice anything wrong with this set. Although it has not come out yet, I'd wager Consumer Reports will list this set as a best buy....and rightly so.

Pros: Affordable, big, good picture quality, lots of settings, best bang for your buck

Cons: Given the price range, I can't really think of any.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall for the price paid it is a good value. The picture is not as sharp as desired, but I can live with it. I have played with the settings, and used multiple configurations, but I just can't quite get it to the sharpness that it should be. The colors are very vibrant, and really stand out in a dark room. Where I have the TV positioned, every morning the sunlight shines directly on the screen, which I knew would happen going in, and it handles the bright light very well. The Intelligent Sensor is more of a hindrance than usefulness. It will make the screen very dull at times, and takes away from the picture quality. My only real gripe, is a week after I received it, the price was reduced. If you are looking for a low budget TV that shows a good quality picture, this is definitely one to get. If you are the type of person to nit pick picture quality to death, then move right on past this one.

Pros: Great price, decent picture, and sound.

Cons: The sharpness needs some work.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My 50" Samsung Plasma got zapped by lightning despite being on a surge protector. Thought I'd go a bit bigger with the replacement and this set seemed like a good value for someone not needing wifi connection or 3D. Really wish I would've gone to see this set somewhere. It has nowhere near the picture quality of the Samsung. Picture is dim, HD looks more like standard definition, even after adjusting with a calibration disc. Even BluRay discs now look like DVDs. If you're looking for a great picture, this isn't the TV for you.

Pros: It's big.

Cons: Very poor picture quality for a plasma TV.
