Our take on the LG OLED65B6P

LG's 4K OLED models are among 2016's finest TVs

LG's flat-screen "B" series OLED models like the OLED65B6P are priced a lot lower than the company's flaghip models, but here's a secret: All of LG's 2016 4K OLED TVs use the same panel and video processing. So if picture quality is your top priority, the 65" OLED65B6P stands with the best you'll see this year.

Not familiar with OLED? It's the most advanced screen technology currently available. We have high-performance TVs coming through our Lab all the time, and none generate more "wows" than the OLED models. After winning awards and rave reviews for the past two years, LG continues to find new ways to improve and refine their OLED technology. And LG is still the only manufacturer building OLED TVs.

OLED (pronounced "oh-led") stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. The OLED screen material is an organic substance that glows when it's activated by an electric current. The screen's pixel layer is made of this self-illuminating carbon-based material — each pixel is its own light source which can be independently switched on and off, so there's no need for a backlight with all its limitations.

Pixel-level illumination = infinite picture contrast and absolute black

Each and every OLED pixel — actually every sub-pixel — can switch off completely, producing absolute black. It's this ability that gives OLED it's remarkable contrast and black levels. LG's OLED design also has an edge when it comes to color and brightness. In LCD TVs, each pixel is made up of three sub-pixels — red, green and blue — to create the color palette. LG's unique 4 Color Pixel technology adds a white sub-pixel to the conventional three colors to enhance both color range and brightness.

In fact, these 2016 OLED models deliver noticeably brighter images than last year's models, and provide a color palette that's 15% bigger. These TVs demonstrate the exciting enhancements offered by HDR. If watching TV is something you routinely do with family or friends, you'll be impressed at the way OLED images maintain excellent contrast and color even for viewers seated off to the sides.

The premium HDR experience:  Dolby Vision™

Our eyes can see a much wider range of contrast and color than most current TVs can display — even most 4K models. So, while 4K provides more pixels, TV makers are introducing new technologies to deliver "better" pixels that produce more vivid, colorful, and lifelike images.

The most important of these technologies is HDR (High Dynamic Range), which significantly expands the picture contrast range with both deeper blacks and brighter highlights. A limited amount of HDR-enhanced streamed video content is already available from Amazon, Vudu, and Netflix®. This TV not only supports the required HDR 10 format, but also the more sophisticated Dolby Vision™ format, which is a dynamic system that is able to adjust brightness and color levels in response to the video signal on a scene-by-scene basis.

A Smart TV approach that's fun and friendly

The OLED65B6P's built-in web apps give you instant access to a nearly limitless selection of entertainment including streamed video from services like Netflix, YouTube®, and Hulu®. The colorful WebOS 3.0 user interface lets you customize your home screen to access the apps you use most, and easily switch between them.

LG's motion-sensing Magic Remote is simple and fun to use. You can point, click, scroll and even speak into the remote to find exactly what you want, searching across apps, movies, TV shows and the web... all at the same time. It's a lot like using a wireless videogame controller or an air mouse.

From LG:

Stop Watching. Start Seeing.

With perfect black and intense color enhanced by both standard and Dolby Vision* HDR, LG OLED brings you a world of beauty without compromise.

Perfect Black

The individually illuminating OLED pixels can brighten, dim, and power off fully to achieve perfect black. That means contrast — the ratio between the lightest and darkest areas of the screen — is truly infinite. Perfect black is essential to a more lifelike image as well as the great shadow detail you can only get with OLED.

Cinematic Color

LG OLED TVs display a color palette that virtually matches the vast range of hues seen in today's high-end digital cinemas. With over a billion rich colors at its disposal, LG OLED TV delivers a theater-quality experience at home.

OLED HDR

OLED HDR delivers a stunning High Dynamic Range picture, including support for Dolby Vision* content. Enjoy brilliant brights and the deepest darks for infinite contrast, rich color and an exceptional viewing experience, closer to what filmmakers intended. With their perfect black and cinematic color, LG OLED TVs have also earned prestigious Ultra HD Premium certification.

    Brilliant

John from Westerville, OH on 7/21/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After significant research trying to separate hype and reality, I dove into OLED and went with the OLED65B6P. The picture surpassed my expectations. Even my wife, who doesn't care much about this stuff, said, "Wow!" as we watched BBC Planet Earth II. There is only one request I have for LG. create a monitor-only version so the bulkier base creates a slimmer gap from the wall when hanging. If you're going to buy equipment like this you likely have a good/great stereo.

    Pros: Picture, picture, picture

Cons: Manual is weak for instructions and preferred settings. Had to surf the web for professional recommendations.

Great replacement/upgrade from Pioneer Kuro Elite 151

Keith from Rushville, IL on 6/4/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Finally upgraded my Pioneer Kuro Elite plasma which still has a fantastic picture, but is beginning to fade a bit in brightness. I knew I wanted to go with OLED for several years now, and was able to grab a 65" on closeout, and got it switched in to my system last week. I also needed to upgrade my receiver to one that was 4k-capable (replaced a Denon 4011 with a Marantz SR5011). Picture quality is fantastic. A friend of mine who happens to be ISF-certified is coming by this week to calibrate it, but even now the improved clarity, color, black level/contrast, and brightness is apparent. I won't get rid of the Kuro, and it's safely in storage, but I'm happy with the LG OLED as a replacement.

Pros: Picture quality, clarity, colors, black level/contrast, ergonomics/appearance

    Cons: none

Amazing picture, especially with 4K feed. I can't imagine you could find better picture in this price range. I was expecting to ignore the smart tv features, but they are great and the remote as a pointer/mouse works very well.

    Black is black is black!!!!!

Jerry from Apopka, FL on 5/18/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There is no question that OLED is the BEST display technology available today. As a plasma fan in the early days I find this so much better in terms of use in a well lit room, absolutely huge contrast ratio, and the blackest blacks I've ever seen. If not for the built-in automatic screen saver pictures we'd never know if we actually turned the display off. It's that black! I have two complaints. The first is with the user interface, which is not as intuitive as other displays we have used. The second is with the voice-control function, which is not anywhere near other mediums in ease of text and numbers entry. It's certainly not "intuitive" speech recognition. Oh well. You can't have everything.

Pros: Unbelievable black levels Works well in well lit room Best contrast ratio ever

    Cons: User interface Voice recognition

    Amazing Pic... Best 4K TV

John from Cincinnati, OH on 4/5/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is best 65" TV for the money. I previously owned the Samsung UN65KS9000 and that TV rocked, however the off-axis viewing was poor. The LG B6 has absolutely no off axis viewing issues and the picture is stunning. It does an excellent job up-converting HD to near 4K and the colors are vibrant. While this is a bright TV, it isn't nearly as bright as the Samsung, but it was a trade-off I was willing to accept. So far the only negative is the 120V plug which can make it difficult if you mount the TV and your power outlet is located near the bottom of the TV.

Pros: Picture quality is perfect.... wide range of colors... does an excellent job with motion and has the best off-axis viewing

Cons: A little pricey compared to the higher end LED TVs, but great price for OLEDs. By the way, this has the same panel as the higher priced 2016 OLED models.

The best TV I've ever owned. Worth every penny. And price on the 2016 models are at least 40% lower then the 2017 models with barely any difference. Watched Spectre in UHD 4K on Amazon Prime and was blown away by the picture quality.

Alan from Seattle, WA on 3/26/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fantastic "TV" (actually a monitor for Cable TV, Internet TV, DVD, etc.). The instructions are often poor, but what is unclear one can usually work through intuitively. An example was the HDMI (ARC) sound out to my Yamaha receiver, which may be equally the fault of poor Yamaha instructions. After hacking around, the 5.1 surround sound is working beautifully.

    Pros: Picture, hardware design

    Cons: Instructions

    Great Picture

Troy from Spring Hill, KS on 3/26/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very nice picture, almost looks like it is not real its so clear. Alot depends on the show/channel/movie. Been watching the NCAA tournament and the colors are very vivid and picture is clear. Movies are unreal. Have not watched a DVD yet. Very happy with this, last TV was a Plasma, I would have to say I enjoy this over my Plasma.

Pros: Great Picture, colors are very vivid. Good and bright, blacks and grays are great too. Connection was simple, just plugged my HDMI into the existing receiver and it was ready to go. Set up with the TV was easy. The remote/magic takes some getting used to.

    Cons: None so far.

    Incredible picture

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the OLED65B6P after researching televisions for a few months. I have had non-4K TVs up to this point, so I wanted to make the upgrade count. I have had this OLED professionally calibrated, which I would highly recommend to anyone who has the funds to purchase this set. The color, white balance, and gray scale was quite off out of the box. The picture after calibration is astounding. We watched "Star Trek - Into The Darkness" on an Ultra HD Blu-Ray for our first official test. Incredible detail, color accuracy, and cinematic quality. The interface is easy to use, and I really like the remote. I would say that setting up devices to be used by the LG remote is not that great. I have a newer Motorola set top box, and rather than inputting a model number, you just rifle through a list of remote types, by number. None of them worked. The same was true for the Xbox One S. A little disappointed, but not a huge deal. Overall the television is the best I have ever seen in person.

    Pros: Almost everything

Cons: -Other device control with LG remote -Price

Gail from Etna, WY on 2/22/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We have had our LG 65 OLED B6P for about a month and love it. Picture and sound are outstanding. The OLED technology is clearly a vast improvement over other systems with an 4K HD picture so crisp and clear that you feel as if you are live on set watching the actors. Sports are equally impressive. TV set up was easy and needed almost no tweaking to perform as promised. Wall mounting the television was more challenging. The LG wall mount for this television and large screen size do not provide much working distance between the TV and the wall making it nearly impossible to see what is happening as you try to mate the TV and mount. We used a piece of furniture and some wood blocks to help with the process but for a while we wondered how we would get the job done. Two people can get the television mounted, three people would make the job easier. We have a note of appreciation for Crutchfield. We ordered the television from Crutchfield after another major source would not fulfill their "ship direct to home" and "no shipping charge" offers because we live in a rural town outside their delivery area. Crutchfield had no problem taking our order and shipping the television directly to us. The advertised price was the same as the other source with no additional shipping cost. Crutchfield also offers free lifetime tech support and a rewards program that added value to our purchase. We are totally satisfied with our new television and with Crutchfield.

Pros: Outstanding picture and sound Delivered as promised with no hassles or surprises

Cons: Need 2-3 people to wall mount

    You deserve this!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

You get this TV because, A: You can afford it, and B:You wanted the best. Most reviews indicate an almost "plug-and-play" approach to setting this TV up but I would recommend spending the time to get to know the TV before it arrives. The documentation that comes with it is very limited and most of your information comes from on-screen directions. If you don't have newer HDMI cables get some! You don't have to get Monsters but at least get ones that can handle the information cleanly. Decide if you want to set it up wireless or through a LAN line. Check if your audio receiver (because you obviously have a surround sound system) is ARC compatible. If not you may want to invest in an optic cable. I think this is a great TV and am very happy I bought it.

Pros: Blacks! Oh my... Great picture in dark and light rooms.

Cons: Trail and error approach to finding information Connections are not all in one central area (why is that?)

The Best TV I have owned

    Brad from CA on 2/13/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I would consider myself as having intermediate experience in Home Theater Systems. Far from a pro but not a novice. After many years of owning mid level LED TVs, I decided to go for best quality and features with this purchase. After several weeks of research and indecision (Also looked seriously at Sony), I finally made up my mind and purchased the LG OLED65B6P. I have had the TV for a week now and I can say I'm blown away at the picture quality. This TV makes all my sources look so much better. Directv, XBox, Blu Ray. I'm pretty impressed with WEB 3.0. I now use the Apps on the OLED for Netflix and Pandora. They are fast over wifi and the 4K content from Netflix is beautiful, though limited. I'm not thrilled with the remote. I have owned other LG TVs and was hoping the remote had improved. It has a little but other than using it to change settings, it sits on the table. I use the Directv remote 90% of the time. It will run the sound and power for the Genie, TV and AVR. I'm looking at a Harmony remote but not sure yet. Set up of the TV was very easy and straight forward. The first time I powered it on I just went through the step by step on screen guide and I was done in about 15 minutes. Oh, make sure you do an update right from the start. Don't skip that step. After the initial setup, I spent some time playing with the picture settings. The possibilities are limitless and can be overwhelming. Unless you calibrate, I'd say pick a picture mode you like and tweak that.

Pros: Easy to set up. Amazing picture quality. Vivid colors, Black Blacks. Fast wifi for running Apps.

Cons: Nothing is perfect but this is close. A very minor negative for me would be the remote.

When I was shopping around for a new TV a lot of things was going thru my mind. So I started doing my homework after constant reading and numerous trips to bestbuy, Walmart and so on I decided on The LG oled. The color is amazing and the blacks are deeper than my old panasonic plasma. This is the best TV I ever owed color wise. If your budget can stand it this is the one to get.

    Pros: Breath taking picture .

Cons: Not too much in the Manuel have to learn on the fly.

LG 4K OLED - the Tom Brady of screen displays

Orion2020 from Seattle, WA on 2/7/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Yep. Stop your doubts folks. The LG 4K OLED TVs are the best TVs yet made. It's what you want if your budget allows. I was blown away when I fired mine up and I haven't even run a 4K source into it yet. The zero black level thing makes a lot more difference that I expected - not a gimmick. It's better than plasma. It's...the best...evah. The Tom Brady of screen displays. Also, the customer service Artie provided was way beyond expectations. He was very knowledgeable about the issues, both technical and order/deliver related, and very friendly on the phone. Frankly, it sets the bar back up where it belongs for customer service in this great country.

Pros: Just name something that could be a comparison point between a backlit LCD screen vs. OLED screen - OLED wins every time The zero black level and amazing color saturations are eyeball popping

Cons: You're sad because you don't have one of these TVs yet

Timothy from Lynbrook, NY on 2/5/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great picture as many have said. Downside is that with content quality so varied, you are often looking at lower resolution original content (e.g., compressed cable channels) and thisbset seems to make low quality source content look worse. But it really shines with true 4K and HDR content. Blacks are super deep as well. I came out of a Panasonic plasma and for brightness this seems just as good.

Pros: Uniform brightness, lack of halos and glow that foul ordinary LED picture.

Cons: Makes low quality source material look worse, stock speakers are poor (low table top set height makes it impossible to use sound bar placed in front)

Gorgeous picture, easy to install and operate.

Gorgeous picture, easy to install and operate. I thought I'd never find a picture I liked more than my old plasma TVs. I was wrong, this picture is fantastic!

Best picture there is on a TV

James from Monterey, VA on 1/31/2017

Got one of these. Love it. Well worth the price.

Pros: I have 20 HDR blu ray movies, but well made regular blu ray movies look just about as good on this screen.

Cons: How can it be on sale when it's at LG's list price? All retailers A to Z are doing this same thing. Crutchfield always has the No. 1 customer support, so this is the way to go.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an awesome product. Hook it up and be ready to be amazed. The colors are so much more saturated (in a good way) then any brand/model I have seen, and the contrast is second to none. Having the ability to decode HRD-10 and Dolby Vision is a huge plus. The only negative is intense whites sometimes will clip. But overall not a large concern. An example is live telecasts that have the low angle sun glaring off of water. This is an amazing TV display panel.

Pros: The best picture available today. Missing your Pioneer KURO plasma display? This LG OLED unit, will make you forget.

Cons: Inability to render properly the most intense whites (not a big problem). This is inherent in OLED displays.

OLED, can't get any better than these. I owned a 2015 model OLED (65 inch LG ...9500) which is fantastic. I got an upgrade! Dolby Vision capable. The B6 model uses the same panel as all the 2016 OLEDs, so why bother with the more expensive upgraded models? Our year old OLED was 3D capable, but we rarely used it, so I figured why not save the $1000? The soundbars in the upgraded models? I have a home theater system, so unnecessary. The picture is great. Setup is pretty easy. much faster UI than last years model. Great TV!

    Pros: Picture

Cons: TV sound average. (Hooked up to my home theater, so moot point for me)

    Almost Perfect

Anonymous from Dublin, OH on 1/8/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There is no perfect t.v., although this comes close. As a former owner of the fantastic Sony HX929 LCD, the LG's true black, saturated colors, good color accuracy come with the issues of OLED uniformity with near-blacks (5 - 10 pct greyscale). With good content this set produces a fantastic image that avoids many of the drawbacks of LCD (dodgy off angle, haloing, backlight bleed, etc). We have our set in a bright room and it's perfectly fine despite concerns that OLED is not bright enough. For gaming (using game mode), I've noticed no appreciable input lag, although YMMV. Web OS has been a pleasant surprise, the built in apps have worked flawlessly, which is more than I can say for my Sony. The only disappointment has been with uniformity in some very dark scenes typically found in Game of Thrones where the middle of the screen is darker than the edges. This resembles backlight bleed in LCD but there is no backlight with OLED. It's a known issue with OLED, and should you venture out to AVS forum you'll find many posts about this topic. I've found that using a brightness level of 52 with ISF dark and gamma 2.2 makes the near black uniformity issue very difficult to see and only then in a dark room. While I may sound a bit negative that isn't my intention. This t.v. is the best I've ever owned, it's overall picture is fantastic, it's aesthetically pleasing, and I highly recommend it.

Pros: Gorgeous picture, occasionally breathtaking. Web OS is snappy and reliable. Regular firmware updates have resolved early issues you might have read about. For an OLED of this size, it's relatively affordable.

Cons: Some screen uniformity issues with near black. Some tendency to crush blacks. No game mode for HDR.

Very "analogue" like image when watching lower resolution (1080) content. Very clean and clear when watching 4K content. Viewing angle is in credible, and colors are nice and saturated. Seems like I am watching a plasma TV, but without the thickness, weight, and power consumption of a plasma.

Pros: The best TV technology, for now.

Just installed this weekend and other than a few issues with remote (no way this one will ever replace my universal Harmony 700) and so far being unable to hear any sound from online sources from Netflix which I'm sure will be resolved eventually I'm in love with it. Everything you've heard or read about OLED technology is correct. Compared to my previous 50" Panasonic Plasma this TV is in an entirely different league. I swear if I didn't know I wasn't watching in 3D I would think I was... that is how clear the picture is! Highly recommended. And with the recent price cuts it's an exceptional buy.

I stopped by the local big box store to see what everyone who owned this TV was talking about. I'm a long time owner of high quality Pioneer, Panasonic Samsung displays. I was taken aback by the deep and I do mean blacks on the screen. The picture looks more realistic then my 2014 Samsung. I ordered from Crutchfield. Setup was a snap. There were three firmware updates since I received the TV. I'd buy this again.

Pros: Easy setup Very high picture quality Great customer service from Crutchfield

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've only had this TV for a couple of weeks. It is VERY thin and VERY light. So far I've been impressed with the black level. When they say OLED makes black they mean it. Black is VERY black. My two prior TVs were plasmas so they had pretty good black levels. They were nothing compared to the OLED black. As a result many scenes in shows are so dark that they can be hard to see. I've had to play with some of the settings to fix that. I can't speak to the clarity of 4k as I haven't seen anything in 4k yet. Some of the normal shows I watch look fine, some look slightly blurry almost as if they have a thin layer of plastic over the screen that blurs the edges. I've found some settings buried deep in the menus and made it better but it doesn't always look any better than my last 1080p TV. I have a feeling it will be like when I bought my first HDTV and most of the content wasn't in 720p yet. It looked a little blurry. I am trying to find a 4k Up-scaling setting to see if that helps but haven't found it yet. I haven't noticed any motion blur effect at all. Coming from plasma that never really suffered that issue like LCD TVs with lower refresh rates do I was worried about that. That has not been an issue. Football games look fine. Overall I'm happy with the TV and I hope to be more happy over time. If you need a new TV this is a good purchase. If your current TV is fine I'm not sure I would upgrade unless this set has a specific feature you don't already have

    Pros: DEEP blacks, vivid colors.

Cons: Some shows appear a bit blurry. I figure it's a setting I haven't adjusted but most people aren't going to dig through every menu to adjust the edges.

This is all it's cracked up to be. Amazing picture. Color contrast. Watched "Guardians of the Galaxy" yesterday from a 1080p source. Upscaling was phenomenal. HDMI signal being sent form closet to Living Room using HdBaseT baluns rated at 18 GBpS. Controlling via RS-232 and using IR signal to control Martin Logan Vision speaker bar. All works flawlessly.

    Pros: The picture

Cons: Two minor points; 1) a right angle plug would be handy for on wall installations, and 2) it will take at least 2 and should be 3 people to hang this above a fireplace mantel. Not heavy but unwieldy. Price used to be but dropping quickly.

The LG OLED65B6P is truly an outstanding television. The blacks are inky dark and clean. Colors are bright and vivid, without being oversaturated. Also, colors and contrast do not fade with off angle viewing. 4K upscaling is excellent. The picture is so impressive, it almost has a 3D quality. Yes, this TV is more expensive, but the visual difference is so obvious, it is worth the extra cost. In addition, I cannot say enough about dealing with Crutchfield. There are other internet sights that claim to offer better prices, but at what expense. My experience was positive throughout. With their return policy, and excellent delivery service, they are difficult to beat.

Pros: The best TV picture available

Cons: More expensive than LED TV's.

    Plasma gone, OLED is king

We have been researching a replacement for our 12 year+ old HP 50" plasma which is limited to 720p/1080i. It's been a great TV, but we wanted larger and I did not want to sacrifice deep blacks, thanks samsung/Panasonic for killing plasma. The choice came down between Vizio P series and LG OLED as these are the only companies to support both HDR and Dolby Vision. Until LG dropped the prices, the OLED was only a pipe dream, but now, it's in our living room. The blacks are amazing, color is wonderful, it powers on fast (the HP took 40 seconds) and is pretty easy to setup. I will say that I think it tries to do a bit too much but I'm very used to doing things manually however. It took quite a bit of doing to get ARC setup between the TV and my Marantz SR7010 but that was because I had hidden the TV Audio input when I set everything up months ago as I had no need for this with a dumb TV. The next issue is that our Roku decides that it will set the input on the Marantz to it's input when we turn the system off, so have had to turn off CEC and set the Marantz to TV Audio manually. I do not get why some companies do this with their products. So far I have setup Netflix and Amazon and streamed some Netflix in 4k and DV and it looks wonderful. After some burnin, we'll have it calibrated . Really excited for a 4k bluray player to go with this and some great UHD content. The remote is pretty nice, but honestly, I would like to turn off that motion controlled cursor, it annoys me.

Pros: picture blacks setup built in apps with Dolby Vision and HDR support

Cons: motion remote cannot be disabled confusing menu layout

I bought this as a replacement for a 7 year old LG plasma HDTV. OLED technology has finally matured to the point where plasma owners can upgrade with confidence. Picture quality is off-the-charts good. Very happy with this purchase.

Pros: Picture quality. "Smart" features are for the most part well thought out.

Cons: Price will come down considerably over the next couple of years, but like any technology you have to trade that off vs. waiting.

    Wow!!

Karl from Burke, VA on 11/12/2016

This replaces my 9-year-old Sony 52" XBR LCD. Wow! Spectacular in every way. The display is so much brighter and more-detailed that I'm having a bit of an issue with the "soap opera" effect, but that's easily remedied by deselecting the default TruMotion "Clear" when necessary. Only had this now for a week, so I'm still experimenting with the multitude of settings. If you've got the $$$, this is an amazing piece of tech.

    Pros: Amazing picture, easy setup.

Cons: Somewhat complex menus and submenus, but that's most likely an issue because I'm an old geezer.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Having only had plasma in the past the LED takes a little getting used to. Quite a different look, but I think in the end, better. I still can't get consistency. I can get the color adjusted to my taste for most shows but then I change the channel and it looks like everyone has third degree sunburn. If I can figure that out I'll give it the fifth star. Just never had that problem with the plasma. Also, sometimes the sound may be much lower on a newly selected channel. If I change it and then go back the sound will be okay. Can't figure that one out. Also, you will want a sound bar.

Pros: When tuned right, great pic. Shipping and delivery were great.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Due to producing inky black levels, this unit provides a picture that is amazing, especially when fed 4K HDR content. Most reviewers pronounce this as the best picture currently available and I have seen nothing in the 3 weeks I've had this to argue otherwise. The ability to produce multiple shades of black yields a rich, textured picture. Mine is wall mounted and you'll need to order the LG mount in order to avoid having parts of a typical wall mount stick out at the bottom. The screen is so thin that the only suitable mounting points are on the thicker housing at the bottom half of the screen, where the electronics and power supply live. The LG mount is an unusual butterfly design, so allow extra time to install it. My one quibble is that some of the advanced picture options are poorly explained: what, for example, exactly is Super Resolution ? Bottom line: if you value a superior viewing experience you should definitely audition this product.

Pros: Inky blacks yield an amazing picture.

Cons: Well, it IS expensive, but oddly enough, the new Sony xbr-65z9d (same screen size, but using LCD technology) is MORE than what I paid for this set.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very good but with some compromises. See Pros and Cons.

Pros: Very good picture and wide viewing angle, Sound from the speakers was very good, the best I've heard from a flat screen television. Easy to find and adjust settings. Very good choice of picture mode.

Cons: Even with the "best" input I didn't observe a better picture than last year's LED model of another 4K television. Must be used with a receiver which can select different inputs. This TV has only two HDMI inputs. Beautifully thin screen but only on part of the TV. Bottom third houses the electronics and is actually thicker than other TVs which spread their electronics and connection over the entire back of the TV.

Crutchfield response on 11/2/2016 After receiving this review we took a second look, and can confirm this TV has 4 HDMI inputs. There are two on the back panel, and two more located on a side panel with the USB inputs.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far I'm very happy with this unit. It's only two days old but I'm comparing it to my previous LG OLED (EF9500) that had a ton of screen uniformity issues. To be clear, LG refunded my money for the original TV and I purchased this newer model. I decided to sacrifice the 3D option for the cleaner "soundbar-less" look. I didn't mind saving the extra money either. The picture is without question the best I've ever owned or seen. For videophiles is not without flaws but it's better than anything I've owned and there's no such thing as a perfect TV anyway.

Pros: Absolutely beautiful picture after professional calibration. WebOS 3.0 is a great interface.

Cons: No 3D support. Less adjustability of the picture than the previous model.

The Only Replacement for Plasma Junkies

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been deeply concerned about replacing my Panasonic Vierra Plasma when it finally took its last breath. I dislike every LED / LCD I have looked at when it comes to television shows and especially movies. The flat, sterile video look always kept me distanced from the visceral and emotional involvement which is huge. I have been shopping the B6P for months and looked at it in different stores. In the meantime, I purchased from Crutchfield, the Marantz SR-6010 for the HDR, 4K pass-through and up-scaling. The 6010 is also compliant with HDCP 2.2 which is important. When the price dropped a couple weeks ago, I squeezed the trigger. The picture is fantastic. With a few easy tweaks in " dark room expert" picture mode, it is as natural as the plasma and much, much better. Blacks are Black! The HDR - Dolby Cinema effects are outstanding, colors and shadows rich and native. The picture menu is simplistic but if you want to go further, it has a lot of sophistication in the level of complexity that you can manipulate the picture. Crutchfield support was there as always for some quick questions. I highly recommend the LG OLED65B6P and the plasma looks great in my bedroom!

Pros: Picture, Picture, & Picture HDR - Dolby Cinema The set itself has great architecture - looks good

Cons: Getting it out of the box!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had previously subscribed to Netflix and Amazon Video (via Prime) and I discovered that the amount of HD and UHD (4K) streaming content offered in these services were now large enough for me to justify spending my hard earned money on the price of this LG OLED television. And I think the amount of 4K content is only going to increase. I was extremely impressed with Tim, my Crutchfield adviser, as I initially had a lot of questions about the various television technologies. He answered all my questions regarding OLED. I love this TV. It has a much better picture than my previous Pansonic 50" plasma set. As others have commented, the look of the set in my apartment living room is really nice. Oh, one last thing, I measured my viewing distance with a tape measure to be 11 feet in my apartment living room. I thought that maybe going from 50 inches to 65 inches might be overwhelming. But that was not the case. I found that the 65 inch OLED screen size is just right for me; I feel like I am sitting in the middle row in a movie theater, not too close and not too far away. Great!

Pros: Easy to setup LG WebOS superb and user friendly LG remote is nice with its pointer So far, very reliable, no technical issues

LG OLED ... The BEST Technology for 4K!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Seven years ago we purchased the Pioneer Elite Plasma 60" TV from Crutchfield ... absolutely the best big screen ever made at that time. It was the last model Pioneer manufactured because they couldn't sell enough at the $5700 price they had to charge to make a profit. It still produces the best picture ever! However, we decided to upgrade to 4K technology with this OLED 65", since LG has proven its reliability for over a year now. We were still somewhat concerned it might not match the quality of our Pioneer Elite. But within the first night of viewing, it blew us away. Definitely better than plasma ... better than Samsung SUHD ... better than being there! It worked perfectly right out of the box and didn't even need fine tuning. The one accessory you do need is an external sound bar/audio system. The onboard speaker is very weak for this size TV. While it's still pricey, its worth every penny. I would advise purchasing an extended warranty to cover it for 3 years just because the technology hasn't been proven in the market that long. But you won't be disappointed. Finally, there's no better place to buy it than Crutchfield. Best prices, best service, always there to help.

Pros: Best picture ever! Brilliant contrast, deep blacks, perfect motion.

    Cons: Pricey!

Great TV with a wonderful picture and great features. There is not yet a lot of 4K content out there yet so I haven't had the chance to see all that well just how clear it is, but it takes regular 1080i or 1080p content and makes it look better. The colors are rich, the blacks are black, the definition is great. The one 4K content movie I did buy (Superman) shows incredible definition. Strongly recommend this TV.

Stellar when playing a high quality signal. More motion blur and pixelation than I expected(I am coming from a plasma) from lower quality signals. According to online sources the TV is supposed to get much better at 200-300hrs of use. Overall I am very happy with the picture. The blacks are much deeper than even my high quality plasma. The TV and remote are very user friendly and set up very well. The smart TV functions are also very user friendly. The overall appearance of the TV is amazing; a very small edge bezel and so thin you have to see it to believe it. The LG mount(sold separately) is well thought out and keeps the extremely thin TV very close to the wall. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase.

That tv is crazy thin! It's pretty amazing seeing something so large be so thin from the side. The picture quality is as advertised... the best I have ever seen. Even from extreme angles you don't get that faded picture that you get with LEds. This particular TV doesn't have 3D, but that wasn't really a big deal for me. 3D is basically dead anyways.

I have had the LG OLED65B6P for 2 days. Purchased and shipped on Thursday and received it on Friday. A big shout out to Lee who made the process very easy and went way above and beyond to get approval for me to get Monday's pricing when I had issues trying to purchase online. Not a Crutchfield issued but a Visa issue. I've only been able to stream movies I purchased from Amazon and VUDU and wow the picture is amazing! I am using the ISF Night Calibration setting and the Cinema Sound setting. I live in a studio apartment and just don't have the room for a full surround system. The Harman Kardon speakers do a great job, the best sounding speakers I've heard on a TV. I've not listened to a G6 yet... I actually prefer the style of the B6. I was worried the G6 may have issues down the road with the flip base. I actually prefer the panel of the B6 over the E6 and G6. Watched Chappie last night on VUDU and I heard sounds I've never heard before. I wish LG had plans for a 4K UHD blu-ray player as I prefer the same brand as they seem to work better together. I've not had a chance to view HDR content yet. Waiting for Philips 4K UHD blu-ray player to release. Then I'll purchase a few 4K UHD blu-rays like Mad Max: Fury Road and Ghostbusters. I've always had issue with Samsung blu-ray players, I've owned 3.

Pros: Awesome picture. Panel is the same as the G6 and E6 just doesn't have the glass which I prefer. Awesome sound for TV speakers. I saw a picture of the remote online and was kind of bummed it was the same as the G6 and E6 remote, but actually I prefer it now that I've had it in my hands. I got a great deal thanks to Lee and Crutchfield. I've always had great service here.

Cons: So far none. I am very please with my purchase. Just wish LG had a 4K UHD blu-ray player and I wish VUDU would ad LG's OLED's to the list of TVs that will play VUDU's Dolby Vision content.

OLED: "OLED" means organic light-emitting diode, named for the advanced material used in the TV's screen. The secret to OLED is this unique light-emitting diode structure with its electroluminescent layer, a special film made from an organic, carbon-based compound that emits its own light when hit with an electric current. A thin-film transistor (TFT) backplane switches each specific pixel on and off. This configuration enables a thinner, lighter form factor, higher resolution and big, home theater-ready screen sizes. Because OLED TVs do not require a backlight, pixels that are switched off are truly black, so OLED achieves deeper black levels and a higher contrast ratio when compared to LCD and LED-LCD TVs with conventional backlighting. OLED technology also increases energy efficiency.

    • Cinematic Color & True Color Accuracy: The LG UHD OLED TV displays Cinematic Color & True Color Accuracy with a color palette that virtually matches those seen in today's high-end digital cinemas, thanks to its 4 Color Pixel Technology. LG's 4 Color Pixel technology adds a white sub-pixel to the conventional 3 color red, green, and blue that enhances both color range and accuracy. This considerably improves the OLED pixels' ability to express the realistic colors and represents a giant step ahead of conventional flat-panel displays.
    • Perfect Black Panel w/ Infinite Contrast Ratio: As the first display technology that allows self-lighting pixels to switch on and off individually, OLED offers the first "Infinite" contrast ratio. LG OLED TV's self-lighting pixels switch off completely for a Perfect Black Panel. With no light bleed, LG OLED achieves absolute black levels, for infinite contrast. Contrast ratio measures the range from the brightest whites on the screen to the darkest blacks. The deep blacks will offer a greater sense of realism and depth on all content.
    • Absolute Motion Clarity: The critical response time of the LG UHD OLED TV (its ability to refresh the image on screen) is less than .1ms (microseconds), drastically faster than LCD or LED-LCD televisions. As a result, you get even the fastest action to be dependably crystal clear and virtually blur-free.

10-Bit LCD Panel: Thanks to its 10-bit LCD panel, the LG UHD OLED TV is capable of displaying billions of colors with fine steps of gradation. With so many more colors to express, you'll see a picture that is more detailed and natural when compared to conventional 8-bit panels.

Ultra Luminance: Ultra-HD picture quality becomes even more dynamic with an extended range of brightness, thanks to LG's Ultra Luminance technology. By enabling higher peak brightness and an enhanced contrast ratio, Ultra Luminance makes 4K & HDR images even more striking.

Ultra HD 4K Resolution & Upscaler: The LG UHD OLED TV has a display resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 (4K) and will display all video at that resolution, regardless of input signal, thanks to its Perfect Mastering Engine & 4K Upscaler. 4K provides four times higher resolution than current 1080p high-definition TVs with a total of 8.3 million pixels. Its detail is so vivid and crisp, even when viewed from close distances; it's nearly impossible to discern a single pixel, even from inches away. Enjoy incredibly flawless images, vivid colors, and picture details as never before. More benefits of Ultra-HD 4K include:

    • Greater Sense Of Depth: At 4K, distant objects in a scene can be rendered with greater clarity than at 2K, with more nuances of light and shadow and focus for a greater sense of perceived  depth.
    • Better Color: Because pixels are units of colored light, their greater quantity in 4K enables more layered transitions and subtler gradations of tones, so the hues we see up on screen will be truer to what we see in nature.
    • Sit Even Closer: 2K HD TVs carry a recommended viewing distance of three times (3X) the TV screen height, but with a 4K display you can move in to one-and-a-half times (1.5X) screen height without exposing individual pixels. Sitting closer better fills your field of vision, assuring total immersion in whatever you're watching.

Ultra HD Premium: The LG UHD OLED TV features the Ultra HD Premium seal of recognition from the UHD Alliance for meeting the demanding standards set by the industry organization for resolution, high dynamic range, peak luminance, black levels, & wide color gamut. This UHD OLED TV delivers a stunning high dynamic range (HDR) picture with support for Dolby Vision content. Enjoy brilliant brights and the deepest darks for infinite contrast and rich color.

    • High Dynamic Range (HDR): HDR reproduces a greater dynamic range of luminosity or brightness levels, bringing greater contrast & wider color spectrum to the screen. This increased contrast reveals the subtle nuances of the image, from detailed blacks and shadows to the brightest whites and colors, plus greater depth. Previously hidden areas of dark shadow and sunlight are now full of clarity and detail. You can choose between four HDR video modes.
      • HDR Standard: Optimizes the screen for HDR video signal.
      • HDR Bright: The screen appears brighter and even more colorful.
      • HDR Vivid: Sharpens the image by increasing the contrast, brightness and sharpness.
      • HDR Gaming: Decreases input lag for HDR gaming, while maintaining all of the benefits of HDR (firmware update required).
    • Dolby Vision: The LG UHD OLED TV takes HDR video a step further with support for Dolby Vision content. Dolby Vision masters its video content at 4,000 nits (40x brighter than standard TV), resulting in more detailed images with greater contrast. With the expanded luminance of Dolby Vision, each scene is created with a range of colors much closer to what the eye actually sees. Dolby Vision unlocks many more hues across the full brightness range (up to 50% more color than regular TV) for a dramatic difference. By using a much wider range of brights-to-darks (50% more contrast than conventional TV), Dolby Vision provides a new level of richness and precision that makes every scene look more real with more detailed textures, patterns, and edges; plus a convincing three-dimensional feel. You can choose between three Dolby Vision modes.
      • Movie Dark: Optimizes the screen for the Dolby Vision HDR video signal.
      • Movie Bright: The TV screen appears brighter and clearer.
      • Vivid: Sharpens the image by increasing the contrast, brightness and sharpness on the Dolby Vision HDR video.
Note: Dolby Vision will be available via software update, which requires internet connection. Please use a premium high speed HDMI cable with 18 Gbps and above to view HDR content.

Video Inputs: The LG UHD OLED television features HDMI 2.0a, Component, and Composite video inputs. All of the television's video inputs are displayed at 3,840 x 2,160 (4K).

    • HDMI 2.0a: The four HDMI 2.0a inputs will accept 4K/HDR (60/30Hz), 1080p (60/24Hz), 1080i, 720p, and 480p video signals. The HDMI inputs not only allow you to connect your Blu-ray/DVD player or Satellite/Cable receiver to the TV, but also a laptop or computer. The television's HDMI inputs do not accept 480i video signals.
      • HDCP 2.2: HDCP 2.2 is supported by all of the TV's HDMI inputs. HDCP 2.2 is short for "High bandwidth Digital Content Protection" and is used for 4K video copyright protection for compatibility with 4K Blu-ray players and 4K Satellite/Cable providers.
      • 4:4:4 Color Subsampling: All HDMI inputs will support up to 4:4:4 chroma subsampling for full color data rendering of 4K video (60fps). 4:2:2 (60fps) and 4:2:0 (60fps) are also supported by HDMI inputs 1-2. HDMI input 3 only supports 4:2:0 (60fps). With 4:4:4 color, luminance (brightness) and chroma (color) are sampled at the same rate, resulting in an RGB color palette as big as the video sampling rate for a video image with more total colors, plus greater color accuracy and detail. You must enable 4:4:4 color subsampling in the TV's on-screen menu.
    • Component Video: The Component Video input will accept 1080p (60/24Hz), 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals. The component video inputs consist of a 3.5mm jack and a 6" mini-to-component video adapter. This same component video output shares the audio signal with the composite audio/video terminal.
    • Composite Video: The composite video input will accept 480i only. The composite audio/video terminal consists of an AV 3.5mm connector and a 6" mini-to-composite video/stereo RCA adapter.
Note: The TV has built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and Digital Cable (QAM) tuners with an RF-coaxial input, so you don't need a separate set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted Digital Cable signals.

    • AV Sync: If the video and sound of the television are not synced, you can adjust the delay of the audio output to match the video.

Digital Audio Output: The optical digital output terminal will output Dolby Digital/DTS (when available) or 2 channel PCM. The digital optical output terminal only sends an audio signal in Dolby Digital/DTS when receiving Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound from a digital broadcast channel through the tuner, network apps, HDMI inputs, and USB ports on the OLED TV. The optical digital audio output will only output in 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via stereo RCA.

Note: You can choose to turn the television speakers off or leave them on with the TV's optical digital output active.

ARC (Audio Return Channel): The Audio Return Channel of the TV's HDMI 2 input enables the television, via a single HDMI cable, to send audio data "upstream" to your A/V receiver; increasing user flexibility and eliminating the need for any separate S/PDIF audio connection. This feature allows audio to be sent from the television to your A/V receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio/video to the television. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to the TV. ARC allows audio from the TV tuner, Network connection, inserted USB device, HDMI inputs, or any analog connected device to be heard through your ARC compatible AV receiver via the television's HDMI ARC input. The audio from the TV's tuner, HDMI inputs, network connection, and USB ports can pass as Dolby Digital or 2ch PCM. Analog connected devices will be output as 2ch PCM only.

Note: Both the television and the receiver must support ARC for this function to work properly. When connecting an A/V receiver that is compatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), connect it to the TV's HDMI 2 input. If connecting a system that is incompatible Audio Return Channel (ARC), an additional audio connection via Digital Audio Out (Optical) is necessary.

LG Sound Sync w/ Bluetooth: Thanks to the TV's LG Sound Sync and built-in Bluetooth, you can pair a single set of Bluetooth headphones or one Bluetooth speaker with the LG UHD OLED TV. You are able to stream audio from any of the the TV's built-in sources or connected sources. The TV's built-in speakers and audio outputs will be deactivated when streaming audio to Bluetooth headphones or speaker. The Bluetooth audio output's volume is variable, so volume of your Bluetooth speaker will need to be controlled by both the TV and the Bluetooth speaker for adequate volume level.

Note: Not compatible with all Bluetooth devices.

    Good reviews. [ David  Dec 31, 2016 ]
It was time to replace the TV and when we saw the OLEDs we were more than impressed. It will enhance our viewing of shows, movies and BluRays. the 65B6P was the size we wanted (it fit into the area we had) and the models "higher" in price did not give us features we were interested in. This was the perfect TV for the next several years. [ Clyde  Dec 31, 2016 ]
Highest reviews for televisions in this category. We did not want curved screen or 3D options so the LG 65OLED B6P was the perfect choice for us. [ Gail M.  Dec 28, 2016 ]

    to replace my Samsung 65in Plasma 3D TV [ Phillip B.  Nov 16, 2016 ]
SWMBO and I have been wanting a larger TV, 65" to 70" range. There were really only ever two options. Vizio P series and LG OlED. These are the only two TVs with HDR and Dolby Vision. We are moving from an old plasma so black levels were extremely important to me. Wife did not like the looks of the Vizio and until LG put these on sale, the OLED was a pipe dream. With this sale, the price came down to an obtainable level. [ Ronald  Nov 15, 2016 ]
Picture quality, and brightness is now better than in 2015 [ DANA P  Nov 13, 2016 ]

    Unbelievable picture quality . [ Brent  Nov 04, 2016 ]
OLED . Also, the fact that this LG model has picture quality comparable to its more expensive siblings (I didn't need features such as 3D and a built in base speaker). [ Thomas Anthony  Nov 03, 2016 ]

The VESA mounting screw pattern is a rectangle 8 in high and 12 in wide located 3.5 in up from the bottom of the tv.. The wall mounting brackets have a mounting screw pattern of 16 in wide by 8.25 in high. There are additional holes in the mounting bracket every 2 inches along the length. Each of the two brackets to be attached to the wall has mounting holes up and down 1.25 in from the center hole [ Walter  Mar 18, 2017 ]
Cannot tell for sure without removing TV from wall, but top bolts seem to be around 1 ft 7 inches from the top. This location is about 8 inches lower than my Panasonic Plasma this TV replaced (so TV sits 8 inches higher than old one). I have a Sanus wall bracket. could not find any detail in the manual. You might try searching for a picture of the back of the TV on the web. [ MARK  Mar 15, 2017 ]
If you bought the LG bracket, the bottom of the bracket is approximately 2" above the bottom of the TV. The mounting bolts are quite low. Can't give an exact measurement because already on wall with speaker bar impeding exact measurement. 65"LG replaced 55" Samsung and bracket in the same spot on the wall. [ Mike  Mar 13, 2017 ]
The bottom mounting screws are 3.5 inches above the bottom of the TV. There is 12 inches between them horizontally. [ John  Mar 10, 2017 ]
If you're using a set top box or similar cable interface, use it's RCA's. If you're on an antenna, there's not a way to do it without some type of interface that has a digital audio or HDMI. I imagine most owners run an HDMI to a surround receiver. Sorry I wasn't more help... [ Joseph  Mar 06, 2017 ]
If you're investing in this high-end UHDTV you should upgrade your receiver to something that accepts HDMI ARC, which is the current standard and how the B6P is designed to work. Your alternative is to buy a cheap HDMI to RCA converter box but that's like putting retread tires on your Ferrari. [ William  Mar 06, 2017 ]
While I don't have the G Series in the 65" LG OLED TV, at the suggestion of Crutchfield staff I went with the B series instead after we discussed what was important to me. I had been considering the G series but I had a strong desire to have a really great sound system and the B series gave me that choice as the G came with a built in sound bar that was not going to match the quality I wanted plus it would not have to a subwoofer wirelessly and the only thing I was giving up was the passive 3D which wasn't important to me. I was able to get the B series with a Martin Logan sound bar, Subwoofer with a separate wifi connector and the wall mount plus a Niles IR microsensor as I was mounting the TV over a fireplace and another priority besides sound was to have my equipment like blueray player, cable box and other accessories I add later other than the speakers to be out of sight plus not have wires everywhere which met my overall needs. I just had it installed by my electrician yesterday and I am so happy with my purchase using the recommendations of the Crutchfield staff. I must admit I was skeptical about the speaker after a friend had asked me why I didn't choose a Sonos system which is the best on the market only to call me after his "skepticism research" to tell me I made the correct decision listening to my Crutchfield represented in everything I purchased for my home. Another plus besides great customer services they give points to earn money towards future purchases and they are an EBATES member :-) [ Cheryl  Jan 27, 2017 ]
The screen is highly polished glass and does reflect glare. We have ours in a room where we can control light and reflections. If you can manage to control light, this is a spectacular TV. We have only had ours hooked up for a few days but are extremely impressed with the picture and sound quality. [ Gail M.  Jan 25, 2017 ]
MY living room is approximantely 17x 21 and has 5 windows, one being directly behind the tv. Every once in a while I will notice a slight glare but never a bother to my viewing pleasure. I to, had concerns but to no avail! I'm sure you will enjoy this tv and will get a lot of Positive comments. Enjoy!!!David [ DAVID  Jan 23, 2017 ]
I have noticed no glare, even with a light source behind me. [ Clyde  Jan 23, 2017 ]
I bought the LG wall mount and its tilt function helps. It is a big tv with a quality screen. Glare can still happen. [ joseph  Jan 22, 2017 ]
Not too well with unshaded windows and lights. Daytime light from uncovered windows behind the viewer can be noticeably reflected off the screen, as well as lights at night next to or behind the viewer. During the day, I use blackout shades over windows, and at night, I leave any lights that could be reflected, turned off while viewing. I do most of my viewing at night with lights turned off; in a darkened room, the picture on my OLED TV is amazing. [ Joseph  Jan 22, 2017 ]
better than most, but I do find from time to time I have to close my curtains when I'm watching TV during the day [ jay  Jan 22, 2017 ]
No, it sits on a fixed base. When I faced this issue, I built a base by salvaging the swivel mechanism from a bar stool and outfitting it with nice pieces of cherry wood for base & top. [ Patrick  Jan 18, 2017 ]
    No [ WAYNE B  Jan 18, 2017 ]
    No it doesn't [ Derek  Jan 18, 2017 ]
The stand doesn't swivel. Depending on the surface the tv is sitting on though, you should be able to slide it by slightly lifting the bottom of the tv and rotating it. Mine is partially enclosed in a wood cabinet and I just put one hand underneath each side and lift it enough to take some weight off the stand and slide it around. If you plan on swiveling it contantly (instead of once in awhile when you have to connect a component) I'd recommend you get a turntable or lazy Susan type of platform, as long as it can support 50 pounds. [ Steve  Jan 18, 2017 ]
If you purchase the LG mount, it will swivel side to side, tilt up and down, and extend out a few inches. I bought the mount for this reason. It makes it much easier to make connections after tv is mounted. [ Brent  Jan 18, 2017 ]
No. The stand holds TV in place with 4 screws and is static. [ RODDY  Jan 18, 2017 ]
    No [ Todd  Jan 18, 2017 ]
No. If you use the provided stand, it's attached to the back of the TV and it's not a swivel type of stand. [ FRANKLIN  Jan 18, 2017 ]
No the stand is stationary [ Nicholas  Jan 18, 2017 ]
    Black [ Patrick  Jan 20, 2017 ]
Black. On another note I shod probably not buy this TV again not too impressed to be honest. [ Attila  Jan 18, 2017 ]
    about a 3/8 inch bezel, black [ JEFF  Jan 18, 2017 ]
Black. Also, if you already have a sound bar, as I did, you'll probably have to raise the TV because it's remote receptor is on the bottom of the screen where your sound bar obscures it. I'm putting the TV on a home-made wood plinth. [ John  Jan 17, 2017 ]
The color is a grayish silver as opposed to a shiny polished silver. Although, looking at the TV from the front, the bezel is so thin as to be hardly noticeable. I measured it ay 1/16" wide. [ Andrew  Jan 17, 2017 ]
Hello, the lg oled has a really thin black bezel. [ Marco  Jan 17, 2017 ]
Nickel/Silver color. The bezel is very thin, maybe 1/8th of an inch. [ PAUL  Jan 17, 2017 ]
Silver very thin strip hardly noticeable [ DON  Jan 17, 2017 ]
When the older show has a smaller format and lower resolution this is reflected in the picture ... same as non-HD transmission ... [ S Cameron  Jan 05, 2017 ]
Pretty good actually, I was definitely impressed with its ability to upscale. Oldershows still look good, artifacts are very minimal. Plus there are a ton of settings to further optimize 24P content. Hope that helps! [ Corey  Jan 05, 2017 ]
It does "OK". For example watching The Rifleman (1960) is no HD experience. Upscaling can't take a bad picture and make it high resolution. All in all though, the OLED65B6P is fantastic. I totally recommend it and Crutchfield got it to me fast and in great shape. [ Alan  Jan 05, 2017 ]
DVD nice. TV videos average. I find all non HD as unwatchable regardless of the TV. [ John  Jan 05, 2017 ]
No, none at all. Probably a network thing. [ Joseph  Jan 01, 2017 ]
No problems. Awesome tv [ Brett  Jan 01, 2017 ]
No issues with blurring when watching sports. No issues of any kind and I am very happy with this TV. PICTURE IS THE BEST! [ PETER A  Jan 01, 2017 ]
Nope. Looks good on mine. The only issues I have are from my actual cable provider. Their signal can be a bit compressed. But the tv itself performs great! [ JAMES  Dec 31, 2016 ]
Nope, I have two of them and no issues at all. [ David  Dec 31, 2016 ]
I've noticed very little motion blur if you focus directly on the football or hockey puck but never to a point of distraction from the game. The overall picture quality is so incredibly good, it is a very minor trade off, if any. [ Robert  Dec 31, 2016 ]
I actually purchased this for my father-in-law's media room, and set it up for him. It appeared to be well calibrated out of the box. The only image adjustments we used were the built-in picture settings, and minor brightness/contrast adjustments for the low ambient light in his media room. No professional calibration has been done, nor did it seem necessary. Very pleasing 4K picture. [ Michael  Nov 26, 2016 ]
The color seems fine to me out of the box. There are presets for different picture modes (cinema, sports, etc. that are pre-tuned to different video sources). [ William  Nov 26, 2016 ]
I've not had the TV calibrated. I use the ISF night setting. [ William  Nov 25, 2016 ]
I didn't calibrate the color at all. Looked fine right out of the box. I only adjusted the automatic dimming feature since the TV seemed dark to me given the lighting in the room. I've been told by local installers that it only makes sense to hire a professional to calibrate your TV if the lighting in the room is constant such as in a theater setting. The room my TV is in has a few windows so it's bright during the day and has ambient lighting at night so a professional calibration wouldn't make sense. [ Gerald  Nov 24, 2016 ]
I purchased a few different calibration discs online and used the patterns they display to calibrate the TV (Disney WOW, Spears and Munsell). It wasn't difficult but it took some time to figure out what everything meant etc... I would do it over if I had to based on what I learned. It will never take the place of a full professional calibration; however, I'm not sure I would be able to tell the difference. I was able to tell a big difference from stock settings to DIY calibrated settings. It really will depend on your room and typical viewing conditions. Good Luck. [ Nicholas  Nov 23, 2016 ]
Color was, great on mine out of the box. I doubt special calibration will make a noticeable difference. [ Joseph  Nov 23, 2016 ]
Hi. The TV does not require any calibration, but there are several easy tweaks I'll mention here that I researched and enabled myself. I play it in Cinema mode mostly. Do be sure to turn off the smooth/clear motion for all presets. Also do this when playing HDR and Dolby Vision content, as the HDR and Dolby Vision presets appear only when playing that kind of content. This will get rid of the soap opera effect that makes everything look too real. Also turn on the TV's HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color for all of the HDMI inputs if connecting a UHD player, ROKU, Amazon Fire, and other boxes as it does make a difference. Also, for connecting Blu-ray and UHD players, go into their settings and set their HDMI Color Format to YCbCr (4:4:4) and make sure that the player's HDMI Deep Color (not the same as the setting for the TV) is set to Off. This TV is superb and displays a stunning picture especially when in HDR or Dolby Vision. Be sure to read the reviews on CNET and on other audio/video enthusiasts websites to get even more information on settings for this TV and its apps, so you'll experience the best this TV offers. I have the Samsung UBD-K8500 hooked to it. [ William K.  Nov 23, 2016 ]
I usually look up the calibration settings online for the tvs I buy. In this case most of the reviews stayed very close to either of two experts presets without much fuss. Looks great without needing to be played with in the two experts modes. [ Guest  Nov 23, 2016 ]
I did not calibrate this unit mainly because the color was spectacular out of the box. I have 3 Pioneer Kuro's in the house and I have calibrated all of them with settings that I got from D-Nice from a video website and after the pioneer's I bought a Panasonic plasma and calibrated it with setting from David Katzmaier. I have a calibration disk somewhere in the house and sometime this winter I may play with the LG set. Again, the color is so good, I have not felt the need to do anything to it presently. Took it out of the box and didn't do anything to color calibration settings. No one in the family has complained about color or anything else for that matter. Having said that, not high on my list of concerns generally as I am moderately red/green color blind. [ John  Nov 23, 2016 ]
It has presets for cinema, sports, etc. I was able to go to the pro dark setting and it was good as set. I did go into the menu and enabled True HD Enriched Colors. [ Robert  Nov 23, 2016 ]
My installer calibrated my television during installation. [ Ron  Nov 23, 2016 ]
The aspect ratio can be set to "just scan", which is 1:1 pixel mapping and eliminates overscan. [ Robert  Sep 07, 2016 ]
    I don't know [ Kevin  Sep 06, 2016 ]
Unable to answer technically. Thx [ John  Sep 06, 2016 ]
According to RVU Alliance website the B6 has 2.0 Jethead. Hope this answers your question. [ William  Jul 13, 2016 ]
It is not, no. All of the 65" Samsung models we currently offer support RVU but they are not OLED displays like this LG. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan  Jul 07, 2016 ]  Staff
