Extends TV from wall

Brenda from Raymond, MS on 3/25/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The directions are just a series of difficult to understand drawings, took us a while to figure out. The screws did not appear to be sturdy enough to hold such an expensive investment, which made us nervous. The drywall screws did not work; we used our own toggle bolts. When up, it does work though!

Pros: Can easily adjust tv angle and position

Cons: If installing in Sheetrock, recommend using toggle bolts instead of included screws

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love this wall mount! We had one we purchased for our smaller LCD TV, but I was concerned that it would not be sufficient for the new 55" LG OLED that we ordered from Crutchfield. I figured I might as well order the LG mount made for the TV. I am so happy that I did. Installation was very simple once I had located my studs and marked their location on the wall. The included mounting paper template was perfect. Taped it to the wall, drilled the holes, mounted the backing plates, mounted to TV mount to the backing plates and was done. The actual install after locating the studs was about 15 minutes in all. The best thing is that Crutchfield shipped the mount 3-day shipping, so it arrived about 2 days before the TV. When the TV arrived, the wall mount was already in place, so mounting the TV only took a few minutes after reading the instructions. Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy?

Worked well for me. Wish it sat more flush against the wall, but probably better that it doesn't so I can tuck the wires and cable box, plus Apple TV box behind it. Still very sleek, even with all that going on.

Instructions make it look more difficult than it really is. Seems too small but the TV LGOLED65" sits firmly on the wall. Very pleased...

Pros: Plenty of TV movement Left/Right Tilt up/tilt down

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very professional wall mount for my new LG OLED65 TV. I started with an inventory of screws, nuts & bolts (anchors, etc.). I quickly noticed that there were "3" different shaped/sizes of black plastic TV mounting adapters (4-each) for use based on which specific LG TV model was being attached. In my case the ones required for my 65" OLED were in a small separate plastic bag, (inside) the larger bag, along with specific smaller screws, for these shorter/more flat adapters, compared to the more cone shaped adapters required for other TV models. The "actual size" paper template made it easy to locate mounting screw placements on the wall (using 16" stud mounting). I was fortunate to be able to use 2 of my previous Stud mounting bracket screw locations..... but needed to lower the new bracket on wall due to TV mounting holes being on the bottom 1/3 of TV only due to the ultra-thin design of the OLED 65 screen. Once the base portion of the mounting bracket was securely attached to the wall studs, and then attaching the extension (moveable bracket portion to wall base), it was rather easy for my friend and I to slide the (4) installed TV adapters into the mounting bracket slots. I would attempt to hang your TV on wall bracket without the assistance of another person. The TV can be adjusted away from wall about 5" and pivot side to side with little force. A lesser amount of top to bottom adjustment is possible to counter reflection from windows or other room light sourc

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

2 Stars, for the product design and features. Let me explain why 2 stars, and how I came out to it. Pros: 1. I do like how light wall mount is, and the fact that is has only 3 major parts (no real assembly required) : deserves 1 star to the rating. (so far we are 1 out of 5) 2. The mount is thin, wall mounting is easy due to sufficient amount of holes on the brackets. Here is another star ( 2 out of 5 ) Bad: 3. The mount is from LG and specifically design for OLED screens!!! (think thin): a) so why there is not mechanism to move TV in and out without pressing on OLED surface? b) Why does upper part of the mount bends, by the 55 LB 65inch OLED screen? c) Why does the bracket, that attaches to the TV is way oversized and sticks 4 inches over the thin OLED screen itself (ugly!). This is manufacture way of saving money over better design. (I so badly wanted to subtract stars for all this issues, but because the mount works it deserves at least 2 stars.) 4. Side note: Instructions are all over the place. This mount does not have any accommodations for the wire management. You will need 90 degree adapters for the HDMI and Optical cables if you planning to move TV as close to the wall as possible.

Pros: Light weight. Only 3 major parts Thin

Cons: You pay way more, for what you get. Read whole review.

Very slim and works well with my LG OLED 65". It was a little difficult aligning the TV mount section to the wall mount section but after a few tries it a perfect fix.

Pros: Slim, perfect fit for the LG OLED 65"

Cons: A slight bit of difficulty aligning/marrying the TV mount section to the wall mount section.

Check your wall stud spacing!

Ronald from Solon, OH on 6/21/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Make sure that you check the wall stud spacing in your wall before you buy. Load-bearing walls have studs 16" apart, but interior non-load-bearing walls can have studs spaced 24" apart, like mine. The wall mount bracket on this product is 18" wide, so anything wider than 16" spacing between studs will mean that you can't mount to the studs. I wasn't willing to risk my fancy new TV by using drywall anchors, so I had to return this bracket and get one that works for 24" stud spacing. I wish that requirement was well documented up front. It's not on crutchfield's product page (as of now), and the manual simply says it is intended for walls with "regular stud spacing". There is a diagram which shows the expected spacing between studs, listed in mm. That, along with measuring the bracket size, is your only clue that it will not work on wider stud spacing. Can't review how well it works because I never used it, but I can vouch for the sturdy construction of the metal brackets.

Pros:

Cons:

Crutchfield response on 7/4/2017 Thanks for your review, Ronald, and sorry for the trouble. Based on your feedback, we've added this note: "designed for standard 18"-on-center stud spacing.

Purchased an LG 65 inch TV and wanted to wall mount. In researching the project, I was strongly advised to get this item. At first I was skeptical that I had no other options, but I wanted NO problems with the install! It went up easily and the TV fit perfectly. I am glad I went the "no hassle" route and took the sound advise. It was actually less expensive than the other product in which I was looking.

Best Bracket in the Racket...

Kenneth from Venice, FL on 2/12/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Some owners, like me would want the thinnest, non-articulating mount they can find so that the LG TV hugs the wall....and they, like me would be wrong. The screen of the LG OLED TV is only 3mm thick, but the lower portion of the unit is over 2" thick and contains all the electronics/interfaces, etc. etc. The bracket has to connect to this part of the set. The top of your TV, when parallel to the wall will be spaced about 3-4" from the wall. This bracket is specified by LG and for good reason. It fits perfectly, allows for neat install of a lot of cabling, and will allow you to easily slide the set out for servicing, changing cables etc. etc. Do yourself a favor and hire a good electrician to put power behind the set (near the lower left quadrant of the screen), reroute coax as necessary and run the gaggle of HDMI, USB and audio cables out of sight. This is not a DIY job. When you are done, you will beam with pride and love this wall mount bracket.

Pros: Specified by LG for their OLED TVs. Holds the weight perfectly. Moves the TV easily. Very thin. Worth the price.

Cons: Best installed by a pro.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works great and a steal at the price I paid.

Pros: Keeps TV almost flush to the wall. You can set it for almost any angle. True full motion. Fits the LG TV perfectly.

Cons: The directions are horrible. You have to actually figure it out for your self. No dimensions for finished height. You have to interpret the picture graphs. Once up you realize how easy it could have been with better directions.

Nice mount, need to adjust the screws so tv position can change easier. With the OLED the upper half of tv is thin and you have to be careful on positioning . Once in place mount is great. I needed to make adjustments to height of mount because of Electric socket in wall

Cons: Mount is stiff on positioning

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works as intended. Not enough range of motion. Quality of build is adequate for the weight rating advertised. However, this unit is inferior to the Sanus unit it replaced though the Sanus unit is at roughly the same price point. The raw, unfinished look of this unit proves the product is not meant to be seen, but fully hidden behind the TV. Not possible if the TV is tilted or turned. Under those conditions, the support bracket does show and it is unsightly!

Pros:

Cons:

Holds the weight, but way too stiff!

Joe from Cary, NC on 12/12/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received the bracket just before my OLED 55" TV. I went ahead and installed it myself without any problem, but I did spend several hours planning out exactly how to do it beforehand since I had never done it before. I used an inexpensive magnet stud finder that found the nails in the studs, then bracketed where I thought the studs would be. That turned out to work perfectly. Figuring out the exact height from the floor to the bottom of the bracket took a lot of math and drawing. The key variable to figure out is where the top and bottom of the TV will be after the bracket is installed and attached. Unless you have a handyman or engineering/math background, I advise getting someone else to install it. If you are brave and very patient, it is doable on your own to attach it!

Pros: Positives: holds the TV without a problem, tilts and swivels as advertised.

Cons: Negative: way too stiff, need to wrestle with it to move and the TV is fairly delicate to be manhandling.

Kevin from Staunton, VA on 11/14/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit is (in my opinion) an improvement over the 2015 model. It spaces the mounting points for the tv farther out as opposed to last year. The 2 back metal brackets that attach to your wall now come separate from the main unit (last year was all 1 chunk of metal). This mount allows easy positioning of 2016 LG OLED tv's and although somewhat minimal structurally, holds 65" tv securely. Overall, works well and looks good.

Pros: Easy to install - minimal space for a mount that holds a 65" tv, looks good.

Cons: Seems not "quite" as sturdy as 2015 model.

I do not believe so- it seems to require a special mount that uses 2 studs [ BRYAN A  Oct 16, 2017 ]
If you look at page 5 of the Installation Manual, you can see that the two stamped bars expect to be attached with a total of 10 screws into the two wall studs. Mounting using one stud is of course not recommended by the manufacturer, and should only be undertaken with the understanding that more substantial screws will have to be used, e.g., GRK screws, and that there will be much less of a rotational resistance for keeping the TV level than would be achieved with mounting according to the directions. Any basis in law for recovering damages for a damaged TV due to mounting failure would seem to be impaired. I solved my wall location problem by making two 1/4-inch thick x 4-inch wide x the required length aluminum plates (T6 temper) to stretch between two studs and attached it with 12 GRK screws. I mounted the TV interface to the plates at the location that put it where I wanted it on the wall. This was a bit of a measuring, machining, and tapping exercise that requires the appropriate tooling. [ KIRBY A.  Oct 16, 2017 ]
I wouldn't. This TV is light but it's big! So I wouldn't chance it since the mount would not be as stable as if you would use a two stud application. [ Jack  Oct 16, 2017 ]
i would strongly recommend not trying that. my studs were too far apart to use this mount as well. I bought a piece of wood to attach the mount too (and the wood was mounted to the studs). good luck. [ Joe  Oct 16, 2017 ]
It should fit it as the curvature is not significant between mounting holes. Having said that not sure why you want to wall mount a curved TV. This is a slim mount and combined with a flat OLED is a really unobtrusive fit. Make sure that you have power in the right spot and preferably recessed. [ Mike  Sep 24, 2017 ]
No, your OLED 65EG9600 is a 2015 model year. The LG EZ Slim Wall-Mount (OTW420B) has been specifically designed for 2016 LG OLED TVs; including the B6P, C6P, E6P, & G6P series - 55 inch and 65 inch versions. [ Michael  Sep 22, 2017 ]
No, the 65EG9600 is a 2015 model with only 2 mount points. The LG EZ Slim Wall-Mount (OTW420B) has been specifically designed for 2016 LG OLED TVs; including the B6P, C6P, E6P, & G6P series - 55 inch and 65 inch versions. [ Michael  Sep 22, 2017 ]
I don't know for sure but it does fit a 55 6p [ William  Jun 28, 2017 ]
I am not really sure about the fit. I employed another, more straight forward wall mount and threw this one away. [ Steven  Jun 27, 2017 ]

Yes. [ EUGENE  Jun 01, 2017 ]
It is made for the LG OLED TV. You get mounts for the curved and flat screen. Screw the mounts into the back of your unit, lift the TV, slide the mounts through the appropriate holes and you are done. [ Leslie G.  May 31, 2017 ]
not sure. It fit my 55" LG tv perfectly [ THOMAS A  May 30, 2017 ]
I don't have that model, but I don't see e7 products listed for this mount at LG's web site. I suggest looking up the e7 model at LG's website to see which mounts support it. [ KIRBY A.  May 30, 2017 ]
Hi Lee, yes it does fit. You will want to consider the installation of a recessed plug as the supplied tv plug is not 90 degrees and it hinders the ability to be positioned closer to the wall. Joe [ joseph  May 30, 2017 ]
I believe the LG OTW420B will fit the LG OLED65E7P. I used this save wall mount for my LG OLED55. [ Michael  May 29, 2017 ]
I have my 65 hanging on the wall with this bracket. The bracket is easy to install and it will take 2 people to hang the TV on the bracket. The only challenge is connecting cables after it is hung. The unit is over a credenza which makes access very limited. So if possible, connect all cables prior to hanging if furniture is beneath the unit. Eric [ ERIC  May 29, 2017 ]
The OTW420B is listed in the manual as the proper wall mount for the 65E7P. I have used this mount for last years model and it is a lovely piece of work. I highly recommend it, but it will only work with the supplied LG mounting hardware. It is not a standard VESA mount even though it uses the VESA spacing. [ Frank  May 29, 2017 ]
I am not a technical or mechanical genius for sure, but the guy that I paid to install my LG OLED TV had no problems with any of the parts. Everything was used, and fit properly. Sorry I can't be of more help. [ Sherri  May 29, 2017 ]
This will most likely work with your 55EG9100 as it fits my OLED55B6P. [ Michael  Nov 15, 2016 ]
This is a nice assembly, but the list of products on page 4 of the instructions are limited to OLED55/65 B6, C6, E6, G6 and the 55/65UH95. It is worth noting that this unit is designed for solid walls, and studded wall where the TV mount is to be located between two adjacent studs. If the decor requires mounting at a particular point, say over a stud, the structure is not built to accommodate that. It is possible, however, to fabricate a replacement set of mounts that this assembly can be mounted to to simulate a solid structure or, equivalently, a longer mounting bracket. I am using 34.5 x 4 x 0.25 inches 6061-T651 aluminum for this purpose. A drill press will be needed for best results. [ KIRBY A.  Nov 14, 2016 ]
The back of the TV can be as close as about 1.25 inches, cables allowing. The front distance from the wall depends on the TV. [ KIRBY A.  Nov 14, 2016 ]
You can get very close...I would measure for you but I am out of the country at the moment. I do remember that the lack of a right angle plug did hamper the ability to be closer. Overall I am pleased but would consider the installation of an oblique angle power / coax outlet box. [ joseph  Nov 11, 2016 ]
The tv sticks out 7" from the wall. [ Michelle  Nov 11, 2016 ]
About 1 1/2" Depending on wires [ GEORGE  Nov 11, 2016 ]
I had this mount recently installed and am very happy with it. It's very sturdy. The TV screen is 8" from the wall. [ SCOTT  Nov 11, 2016 ]
This is a remarkably thin mount and ingeniously designed. Barring any cable issues, I think it could place the back of your tv as close as 1-2 inches from the wall. I had to run mine further out and slightly tilted for the best 3D registration. Hope this helps! [ Frank  Nov 11, 2016 ]
Yes it will and as far as I know, it's the only mount that works for this set. I tried a different mount but due to the configuration it wouldn't work. Eventually I uncovered that the LG mount was the only one on the market that worked for the 65 inch. Hope this helps [ Joseph  Sep 07, 2016 ]
Fortunately a 55-inch TV is much wider and higher than this mount. I am planning to put a box above the mount and route the wires from my 55B6P around the mount aided by cable clamps. Note that the location of joists will be a determining factor. The actual mechanism that moves is only the central half of the image. [ KIRBY A.  Nov 14, 2016 ]
