Got the product and hooked it up to my new JVC car stereo after doing all the downloads. Did my XM subscription via the internet as well. Hooked it up and it works GREAT!!

Pros: Works seemlessly! Got a $30.00 rebate to boot!!

Cons: Had to download info into the unit via the internet...but pretty easy to do, so not a big deal

Good product, it put my xm ready deck to work with no problems. The only negative is the cost, but luckily I received a 30.00 rebate to help!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought a new car in 2010. I wanted a radio with a cassette player; because I had cassettes from high school. The radio I bought had XM with it. I read The reviews on the XM2. I bought it and had it professionaly installed. I recommened this product with a10 plus.I cleaned up my dash and removed the dock and play. The dash looks neater and now I have XM where ever I go.

Piece of Junk!

Leigh from Swanzey, NH on 6/23/2011

After 6 months I had to warranty this item. It just stopped working. I had to take my dash apart and take the unit out and send it to Audiovox so they could fix/replace it. This took 2+ weeks. Then I had to reinstall it again, call XM and change the frequency, and pay a $15 swap fee, all while still paying my monthly XM bill without the use of it for 2+ weeks. Now its been another 10 months and its broken again. Audiovox won't warranty it because its been longer than a year so the warranty is over. So now I have to buy another one and take the dash apart, AGAIN, because no one else makes it. And all this because I put a DVD player in my truck and had to buy this junk product because of course, the XM that came factory with my truck isn't compatible with anything after market. Do yourself a favor, DON'T buy this product!

Works OK with my JVC Nav unit...but...

Daveh from Arnold, ca on 3/16/2011

I installed this with a JVC KW-NT3HDT navigation unit. Installation wiring was confusing, as it does not show it needs to be wired into 12v power. Also it showed in the instructions to place the 2 subunits away from each other. I had plenty of room under the dash so I called Crutchfield and they said the units could be place together. I tie wrapped them together the hid them behind the glove box. All works OK. I would like to see more than basic features fed to the radio head unit. Such as the ability to view stock quotes like my cheap XM Roady2 does. Also, it is a little expensive for what it does.

does the job

hartwell from worceseter ma on 12/7/2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

basic contruction, works find and does the job. Easy to install, just takes time. One issue is that the directions with the package Crutchfield directions did not say to attach the yellow wire to a live wire. Its assumed that you would know? Other than that all was good. Take note that you have to program the tuner ahead of time using onl y windows XP. If if you have windows XP, the programing is very easy and only takes two minutes. Only four starts for poor directions with the yellow wire and you can only use windows XP, I have XP on a older computer and I dont know what you do if you dont have XP?

Product Overview: This package includes the Audiovox CNP2000UCA XMDirect² Tuner/Protocol Interface Adapter/antenna (item number 220CNP2UCA) and the Audiovox XMDirect² JVC CNPJVC1 Connection Cable (item number 220CNPJVC1). With this package, you can install XM Satellite Radio with your compatible, satellite-ready JVC car stereo receiver. In addition to the hardware, you will need a subscription to XM Satellite Radio in order to receive programming.

XM Satellite Radio: XM Satellite Radio programming offers over 170 digital radio channels including commercial free music channels, plus news, sports, talk, comedy, and other entertainment programming from coast to coast. XM also offers traffic and weather alerts for several major US cities (24 cities as of 6/29/10), as well as live sports broadcasts from Major League Baseball, NHL, the PGA tour, Indy car racing, and several major college conferences.

Compatibility: As the firmware is released to complete the compatibility between the XMDirect² tuner and a specific head unit, this package is added to the accessory list for the head unit; please check there to confirm compatibility.

Installation Overview: The XM Vehicle Tuner plugs directly into the Protocol Interface Adapter (PIA). The CNPJVC1 cable plugs between your XM-ready radio and the PIA via a 34-pin connection. You must also mount the magnetic antenna on the roof or trunk of your vehicle, and route the cable to the tuner (inside the vehicle). Before installation, you must download the proper radio model protocol to the PIA from the XMDirect² website (firmware will not be available for all satellite ready radios, but if this package is listed as an accessory for your radio, it is compatible and the correct firmware is available on the website). This requires connecting your PC to the PIA via the supplied USB Programming cable and accessing the Internet.

Note: You must have Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 installed on your PC for programming the PIA. The operating system must be the 32 bit version. The software is not compatible with 64 bit versions.

Dimensions: The XMDirect² components have the following dimensions:

  • Tuner:
