Prewire - New Construction

Jeremiah from Santa Rsa Bch, FL on 3/13/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

New Construction - made prewire a breeze for in-wall speaker mount. Instructions are printed on the box, not included as a separate document. Note that it's not real clear which direction goes inside the wall and which side is mounted in the sheetrock. The correct way to mount these is "rough-side" out. Also note that the tab inside the hole is for securing your wiring until drywall gets installed then it is "breakaway." These are worth the investment if you are doing new construction. There are tabs on the back of the speaker that turn and hold the speaker in place behind the wall once installed.

Pros: Simple install low cost no confusion on where speaker mounts need to be for contractors

Cons: instructions are not clear

These are a must for new construction. Why buy high end speakers only to have the sheet rock guys cover them up? Simply install, they have a mud ring preventing them being covered up and a spot to zip tie you speaker wire. Sheet rock is now up and looks great!

Pros: Easy install, just make sure to pull measurements, so you can have centered.

Cons: None

Good in theory

These looked like a great option for my new theater room that was being built. I had issues with this bracket and another Klipsch bracket where the metal band came loose from the plastic clip. For the price of these things I would expect them to be more durable.

I like how this product comes in a pair, much like the way you buy speakers.

Pros: Easy to install.

Cons: They need to make the cable tie-down loop able to break-away.
