Klipsch deserves your time!

Duane from Hartland, WI on 4/22/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the R-10SW to replace a 20 year-old repurposed NHT Sub. Many years ago, I purchased a pair of Klipsch reference bookshelf speakers along with a center channel for my "playroom". Now that the kids have left the house, I have reclaimed the playroom and upgraded the AV system. I'm really impressed with the R-10SW. It makes the existing system sound that much better. I also like the compact size as compared to the large and bulky NHT sub. I've become a big Klipsch fan!

Pros: Compact size. Big performance. Integration with existing Klipsch reference speakers.

Cons: None. Read the manual along with your receiver manual to make sure you get the most from this sub.

Here comes the boom

Thomas from Torrington, CT on 4/21/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Love it. The design is understated and unobtrusive, and yet elegant without the cover. The sound is wonderful.. the gain let's me quickly tune for my mood; either subtle or boomy. Most of the time I have it subtle to complement the Klipsch r15m speakers. Works perfect with my 2.1 setup for movies and music.

Pros: Design Sound Build quality

Cons: Three way power switch on the back feels flimsy, and I'm not sure the auto power on actually works.

Kevin from Alvaton, KY on 4/14/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I moved my system to a larger room so I upgraded to the R10SW. I listen to 70-80s rock, CDs and DVDs through a Yamaha receiver, Project turntable and Klipsch 5" bookshelf speakers. All I've ever used is Klipsch and the THUMP of the Klipsch Sub always brings a big smile to my face. Plus I bought it as an always reliable Crutchfield Open Box special.

Pros: Awesome Sound! Awesome Value! Awesome Deal!

Cons: Absolutely None!

Bernard C. from Christiansted, VI on 4/12/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to replace a very old, very huge powered sub which had gone to subwoofer heaven after making irritating noises for months. I got a good deal on the new Klipsch from the Crutchfield scratch and dent with no noticeable cosmetic issues, it arrived from Virginia to the Virgin Islands in a couple of days, it fits where it needs to fit and does what it's supposed to do. I have a Yamaha receiver with a subwoofer preamp output and YPAO automatic speaker optimization, so I followed the instructions and everything sounds great--no worrying about settings on the sub itself. I was going to buy new home theatre speakers but the old ones sound fine now. I'm particularly impressed with how much clean bass this sub produces for its size [and price].

Pros:

Cons:

Auto shutoff stopped working after a couple of weeks.

Ralph from Westons Mills NY on 3/21/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like this sub but have been disappointed in that this unit's "auto" shutoff stopped functioning. With the toggle set to "auto" , the green front side "amplifier on" indicator light remains on all the time even when no signal is present. I might also add that the metal toggles in the back are rather flimsy and tiny and could use a beefier, larger and tougher metal toggle switches. Minor issue, but use a light touch when you adjust those so they don't break.

Pros: Size was just right for my application.

Cons: Needs sturdier switch hardware.

Pounding bass!

ROBERT from Berlin, MD on 2/21/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Klipsch R=10SW Subwoofer exceeded my expectations. I have it turned up only about 25% and have sufficient base response. If turned up further, base becomes dominant and greater than necessary. A real base lover could get all the bass he should ever want. It produces low notes that I did not even realize were in the transmission or recording. Highly recommended

Pros: Should be enough bass for anyone.

Cons: None

WOW

Robert C from Elizabethtown, PA on 2/21/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced my old Boston Acoustics surround sound system. The towers had powered subwoofers in them so I never had a seperate box. WOW is all I can say. I am hearing things I never heard before with my other system. The low bass is so clear and so powerful that my house shakes and I live in a fairly large house. BTW the Crutchfield technical sales support is SECOND TO NONE! They have my audio business for life.

Pros: Easy to set up and sounds too good to be true.

Cons: None

Excellent bass

Butch from Richmond, VA on 2/14/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this sub to replace a 20-year old Infinity 12-inch sub that didn't seem to be working very well. The Klipsch produces plenty of bass for the 25' by 13' space we use it in. It is every bit as loud and bass-ey as the 12-inch. It really shines on action movies.

Pros: Great bass. Really adds to the home theater experience.

Cons: None noted.

Perfect Complement to a Marantz Receiver

Peter from Ridgeland, MS on 2/9/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just hooked up my new Klipsch R-10SW subwoofer to my recently purchased Marantz M-CR611, and I couldn't be more pleased! As I mentioned in my review of the receiver, how it made my old Altec bookshelf speakers shine, the subwoofer adds a dimension to my music listening that I've never experienced before. I love classical music, and the drums and bases show up like never before. The gain can be adjusted to the room and other speaker characteristics for a perfect listening experience.

Pros: Lots of control, excellent sound

Cons: Cost (but worth it!)

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great sub woofer. I read a lot of reviews that backed this up. My previous Klipsch sub woofer quit working. I have it paired with Klipsch quintet speakers. It has plenty of bass and sounds great. It is smaller than my previous SW. You can't beat the sound quality of Kipsch speakers.

Pros: Quality bass, Reasonable price

Cons: None

Great sub

Louis from Riverside, CA on 9/5/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This sub rocks! I have it plugged in to my Denon AVR-W2300X and it sounds incredible along with my R-26F floorstanding speakers, and my R-25C center speaker (I have some little Harmon-Kardon satellites as surround speakers but they are hardly worth mentioning). Before this sub, I was using a Harmon-Kardon 100W down-firing sub (which is now supplementing this one). That sub was pretty decent, especially considering the price, but this Klipsch sub not only sounds much better, it also looks much better. I'm already trying to work a second one into my budget.

Pros: Sounds great Looks great Detachable feet allow SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System to be used

Cons: Bass is so deep and full that I feel bad for my roommates sometimes.

Meets my needs just fine

Anonymous from West Bloomfield, MI on 9/1/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It's just the right size and power for a smaller listening room. I use it to add deep bass when playing background music at low levels. Of course it provides a nice boost for movies, too. Currently I have it set to the mid volume setting, so there's reserve for special situations where more LFEs are desired. It's probably all the sub-woofer that most people need.

Pros: The sound is very clear.

Cons: I like the brushed (textured) vinyl finish; it adds a touch of class to the product.

A pair of these really helped the bottom end. My Klipsch towers could not get down low like old fashioned tower speakers. Modern speakers require subs.

Easy set up. Had to lower the gain a lot to balance it with the towers I have. Rattled the walls the first night on Jaws. I had forgotten how low that soundtrack played. A friend was over and I asked if I needed to lower the bass and was told to leave it alone. Happy thus far.

Pros: Compact size Highly adjustable Able to shake a medium sized room

Excellent Sub and Great Value

Dan from Sanford, NC on 7/26/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I give this sub 5 stars for value, bought at a terrific sale price. With that said, it is far more than a "budget sub." As others have noted set up is simple, but of course it would be as you are dealing with a power cord and a cable. But there is more to "set up" to make this sub shine. My 5.1 system includes an older Denon AVR, Klispch K15 L/R and a KC-15 center. In ceiling surrounds by Yamaha round it out. Careful placement of the sub along with properly running Audessy (room correction from your AVR) makes the appropriate teaks necessary to make any sub sound right in your room. Without correction any sub can sound "boomy" This Klipsch R-10SW sounds tight, crisp if you will, and handles the deep lows from LFE tracks perfectly. One note about LFE tracks is that some are just a low frequency rumble that some folks will describe as "boomy" when in fact it is the LFE track that is "boomy". As for music, I used Moody Blues' "Story In Your Eyes" as my comparison track. My old sub is a Polk, 50W, 8" sub from a package deal. It was OK for a first subwoofer but could not do the job in a newly expanded great room. Playing the track with the Polk I could not discern the base line at all. There was some low frequency "something" but no discernable bass notes. The Klipsch brought the song back to life as I know it, you know it, and the American people know it. As for power, this sub has more than I need, even in a fairly large room with 14' vaulted ceilings. Love it!

Pros: Crisp, tight bass for both HT and music. Nice compact footprint.

Cons: If there is one it might be the rear porting. But that is unique to my configuration.

Christopher from NY on 6/19/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice warm smooth bass to accompany my R 15 ms. Loving it for all music genres... can really boom if you want it too. I did the split rca cable rather than the single cable going into the left side. I think it made a difference for me.

Pros: Very powerful - you will need to adjust to your room. I have a mid size apartment living room and even keeping the bass tight - which I normally do- still gives is punch and smoothness.

Cons: Not a con per se - but a heads up. It can boom - so you need to be realistic in an apartment. I got some floor feet for it in lieu of a rug for now. But I keep my bass tight and it still gives more than enough at a tighter setting. I am totally digging it, myself. But this matter can be quite subjective in as much as how much bass one requires. I like jazz, rock, rock and blues - techo folks may need more and may prefer the next model up. I think this is more than enough...

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed a new sub and after reading the reviews and the price reduction I took the plunge. I am impressed with the bass response of this sub. I am using a Sony STR-DN1070 receiver and Polk Monitor 75T main speakers and Polk S35 center and this thing sounds great! It took a little time to tweak in the crossover freq vs the volume but once I found the right combination, wow! This has a ton of bass, I do not even have the volume half way. My room is approximately 15X12 in a open floor plan. I am not sure what a more expensive sub would do for me.

Pros: Size and sound!

Jefferson from El Paso, TX on 4/13/2017

The Klipsch R-10SW is a fantastic buy for the size & sound. I already have an Aiwa 8" powered subwoofer & set this in the back of my room & set the Klipisch in the front, running both. This 10" Klipsch subwoofer is 50% bigger in size than my Aiwa & the bass is 3X as deep. It has the auto/on like my Aiwa which I like & if just perfect for my converted garage, bedroom.

Pros: Auto/on, great deep bass, & just looks & plays perfectly.

A Great Value!

Mark from Sumter, SC on 3/21/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This sub really rocks my 15' x 18' living room home theater! It is paired with Klipsch RP-250F floor standing speakers and an Onkyo TX-NR656 AV receiver. I have to turn the sub down much lower than the Onkyo AccuEQ auto speaker calibration sets it at. It really rounds out the overall sound of the system and I like it very much for the price. (I just could not bring myself to spend $700 or more on a bigger or higher rated sub.) It excels in movies and does pretty well with music (I frequently like to listen to a variety of music at somewhat high volumes). Overall, this sub is a great value and I am very happy with it!

Pros: Very substantial capability, especially with LFE in movies

Cons: Sub could be a bit tighter on some demanding rock and prog rock music

Great improvement in my home theater experience

Joe from Vonore, TN on 12/17/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this 10" subwoofer, rather than the 12"', because its footprint was smaller and best fit the layout of my media room. While I was concerned it might not produce the theater-like experience I was looking for, that was not the case. After experimenting with placement / settings for a short time, I found that this speaker exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it.

Pros: Smaller footprint, with an awesome clean bass reproduction that compliments my Klipsch R-24F's. This SW has the capability to shake the walls of a room that's about 19' X 29'. It was a great choice.

Cons: None

Filling in the gap

Ryan from Agat, Guam on 9/28/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased a pair of Klipsch r-15pm speakers a couple of months back and this subwoofer just finishes the package. The R-15PMs were lacking in the low end spectrum of sound and the addition of the R10SW filled the gap. For the past 6 years, I was using a Bose lifestyle t20 for all my audio needs. Comparing that system to my Klipsch setup, I feel that the R-10SW reaches lower lows and the R-15PMs put out better mid range sound that the Bose definitely lacks. My current set-up is located in my living room which measures 20'x25' and opens up to our kitchen. Whether I'm in the kitchen cooking up dinner or lounging in our couch, the Klipsch puts out magnificent sound. This set-up is great for both movies and audio listening.

Pros: Reaches lower frequencies compared to my Bose lifestyle acoustimass sub

Cons: None so far

Klipsch 10SW

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Im using the subwoofer in a large basement with a pair of Heresy and KG4 speakers. The 10 inch was overwhelmed. Nice sound, just small.

Pros: Easy set up and small foot print

Cons: Sound propagation is limited. Cheap finish for a klipsch , no matter the cost

Klipsch R - 10SW

Richard C. from Riverside, CA on 8/3/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Black wood grain is cheaply made. It is easy to scratch because the grain or grooves are prominent or higher. I carried the sub woofer a few feet not realizing I had a pen on my chest and left its' mark. I was not even putting too much pressure on it. This is why I gave it only 4 stars. The amplifier runs cool to the touch. This sub is an add on to the Bose Acoustimass 5 single cube speaker system with a 5 1/4 inch sub I set up at the Family room 13 years ago. Sound wise, it is more forgiving than my old Infinity BU 2 with a 100 watt amp and a 12 inch woofer. The R- 10SW is the replacement & won't rattle the kitchen cup boards which I prefer. Not "boomy." Without the Bose 5 1/4 inch sub, I would have needed two R - 10SW's for a 30' x 30' family room not including an open kitchen. It gives me a hard hitting lower end (bass) sound and the Bose gives me the mid bass sound. When I move to my next home, I want to buy 2 more expensive front firing Klipsch 10" subs for a family member with a better and smoother wood grain finish as a present. I like the sound reproduction of R -10SW's.

Pros: hard hitting lower end instead of being boomy. Amplifier runs cool.

Cons: wood grain finish is cheap. Easy to scratch.

Excellent!

Klipsch Reference R-10SW

Payton from Decatur, GA on 7/27/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed a sub with a smaller footprint for a system in my den. Could not be happier with the sound and clarity, it adds so much to movies and TV show. I placed it in an entertainment center and the rear port has a tendency to rattle the back of the cabinet. I had to dampen it with a towel...small fix. Was not an issue when I had it outside the cabinet.

Pros: Small size and great sound

Cons: None

Still testing

Doc from Savannah, GA on 7/27/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am still testing this speaker in my home theater setup. I have made a couple of passes setting up the audio calibration using the auto setup for my receiver. Thus far the speaker sounds great but I am not convinced that I have maximised the settings.

Pros: The speaker is well constructed and looks great. Excellent bass response.

Cons: Documentation has a lot of room for improvement.

I just love my new Klipsch R-10SW subwoofer

Rich J from Deltona, FL on 7/27/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had a Yamaha powered subwoofer for about 11 years and never really gave it much thought.I knew something was wrong however, when I turned it on recently. " Buzz crackle thump crackle! Now what? I called the only source that I had sealed with in the past and spoke to a representative by the name of Ziggy. This man knew everything about subwoofers and recommended the Klipsch R-10SW for my needs. I have to say that I am throughly pleased with the service and the product . Was my audio purchase a 10+, you bet it was. Buy with confidence from Crutchfield , they know audio!

Pros: knowledge and service.I do not as a rule respond to companies who ask me for a rating but in this case I make an exception. They hire great reps who are the to answer everything you wish to know about a product.

Klipsch R10-SW

bobO from Hollister, CA on 7/26/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Received my Klipsch R10-SW shipment in 3 business days as advertised. The installation was very easy as well as the setup adjustments. The base is solid and clear with a lot of punch. It really adds depth to movies and augments my Klipsch center channel and front left & right speakers. I have been doing business with Crutchfield for more than 20 years and have always been impress with their Tech support both pre and post sales. Just can't say enough positive things about Bill Crutchfield and his team of audiophile experts. THANKS to all of you that have helped me over the years !!

Pros: Excellent solid base sound with good punch. No loud rumbling base distortion at all.

Cons: When set to the Auto-On mode it does not usually auto power up even after exhausting many advised solutions. May just have to leave the power switch in the ON position.

Little sub: big power

R from Clarkston, Mi on 2/5/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After I had my AR-12 powered down-firing sub loose function, I searched for a suitable replacement. I love the Klipsch brand though I have not been able to spring for the other main channel speakers from K (with time....). Picked this up "open box" from C-field for a discounted price. The cabinet is well made and not super flashy, the on/off light on the front can easily seen through the screen. The material of the actual speaker is able to be seen through the screen - and the front firing design is just as strong as the 12 it replaced. For music (my primary use) - this sub is accurate and delivers clean strong bass (connected to my Denon 23xx receiver). For TV/Movies: this sub is an upgrade for sure versus the AR-12 I had. My only question will be durability and longevity of this unit.

Pros: Small cabinet, clean design. Powerful but not 'overpowering'.

Cons: Price. ...but if this gives me an 'appropriate' life then I will overlook the expense.

After Tweaks, Great Sound

john w from Colorado on 1/1/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Adding this to complete a surround system with older B&W speakers. Also bought Audio Quest Black Lab cable to connect. After tweaking gain etc. on sub to adjust to room, placement, and other system components am enjoying the clean base notes I like. My B&W speakers were powerful to begin with, but this adds a new dimension of power to music and movies. Can rumble the walls and rattle the windows if I crank it, which I don't usually do. Have to give a shout out to Klipsch for their packaging. My box arrived looking as if someone had taken a few good whacks with a claw hammer or hatchet. Speaker was in tact, unmarked and undamaged, so very well protected in the box. Also a shout to UPS during holiday season. Speaker was delivered at 9 PM a couple of nights before Christmas.

Pros: Clean, crisp, powerful, adjustable.

Cons: Lack of documentation for controls. I've found help on Klipsch web site but think there should have been a bit more in the users' manual.

Good Sub

Dan from South Carolina on 12/29/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a pretty good sub for the money. I Did however get it for an awesome price. This sub has plenty of power for my room, I think I have it turned to about 1/4 on the gain. I would however say that is a little boomy, I still have some work to do on getting the levels set correct. Overall I would say that for the money this is well worth it and I have no complaints.

Pros: Plenty of volume. Fairly small cabinet.

Cons: Seems to be a little on the boomy side

Great addition to home theater

KPS from Colorado on 12/21/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The R-10SW is the perfect addition to my home theater system. I'm using Klipsch RB-61-II fronts, RC-62-II center and CDT-3650-C-II in-ceiling surrounds. The R-10SW really rounds everything out. The auto on-off is a plus as is the gain control. Great sub and now everything is excellent sounding Klipsch products. This is a great sub for anyone looking to add that final touch to a system. Great price from Crutchfield made it that much better!

Pros: Sound, auto on-off, gain control, size.

Cons: None.

martyh from California on 12/19/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had been eyeing this subwoofer for weeks -- and weeks -- waiting until the holidays to buy myself a Christmas present. I checked one morning, saw that it was on sale at half off, but that the speaker was out of stock. I immediately set up an online chat and asked the sales rep if I could order one at the sale price even though they were out of stock. Yes! And so I did. The speaker shipped in about a week. What a treat. Happy with the sound quality, and quality of workmanship on the speaker itself, which is why I stick with Klipsch. The item's webpage lists its measurements, but somehow when the speaker arrived and I actually pulled it out of the box, it seemed larger than I expected. Big is always better.

Pros: Great sound and quality. And the packing in which the speaker was shipped was most impressive as well. No chance for damage unless it got run over by a truck!

Cons: I have the speaker in a corner of the living room behind the front speakers so it's a bit cumbersome to get to the controls on the back.

Big bang for the buck!

Ken from California on 12/17/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This subwoofer definitely lives up to the hype, with the 10" Klipsch R-10SW there is plenty of muscle for the typical 12' x 20' home theater application. I highly recommend this sub for the average value conscious audio/videophile.

Pros: sound quality, cost/value, looks

Cons: none

Great product!

Britni from Dorsey, IL on 12/13/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

One of the best subwoofers I have ever purchased! This entire brand is absolutely astounding, but the subwoofer really puts you into the movie you're watching or the game you're playing! This one was out of stock when it was on sale and I really wanted the sale price of course, so I called the number conveniently located at the top of the page and talked to someone who loved helping me out, as soon as I gave him the contact number on my screen he could see exactly what I was looking at and helped me right away, even telling me when the sub would be available again and letting me know that I would definitely still get the sale price! Great product and company to order from!

Excellent addition to my soundbar

GoYankees from California on 12/10/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My Definitive Tech soundbar has nothing below 120HZ so the Klipsch has made a startling difference in sound quality for both music and movie sources. Music has much greater depth and now I can literally feel the movie SFX .

Pros: Compact in the 10" class. Easy setup. More than enough power for moderate volumes. Cool looking copper driver. Solid build quality.

Cons: At full price I would be tempted by the competing HSU Research model which I demoed and louder and lower. However it is a much larger speaker and a bit placement sensitive.

Klipsch sub woofer

Jayk from Illinois on 12/9/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This klipsch sub woofer exceeded my expectations. I was torn between the 10 and 12 but I'm glad I went with this one. I cannot even begin to max out the power on this. Will probably add another later just for show because I definitely won't need the power. We listen to A LOT of music and this sub doesn't disappoint.

Pros: Trusted manufacturer Intense bass Works with any system Small enough to fit in with furniture/living space but size doesn't take away any power

Features

10" Woofer: The Klipsch Reference series R-10SW powered sub is fitted with a powerful 10" copper-spun IMG (injected molded graphite) front-firing woofer for deep bass. The copper-spun IMG woofer is exceptionally light while being extremely rigid, providing remarkable low frequency response with minimal cone breakup and distortion. The front-firing woofer gives you greater placement flexibility than a down-firing woofer.

150 Watt Amp: The Klipsch R-10SW powered sub employs an all-digital 150 watt RMS (300 watt Peak) amplifier for high efficiency and dynamic bass performance.

MDF Cabinet: The R-10SW is housed in a durable MDF cabinet and finished with a brushed black polymer veneer. The MDF enclosure is rigid and protects against unwanted vibration and distortion.

Rear Firing Port: The R-10SW's enclosure uses a bass reflex design with a rear-firing port for greater efficiency and bigger bass.

Controls: The level control, low pass crossover, and phase control allow you to blend the powered subwoofer's low-frequency tones with your system's other speakers, as well as establish the ideal level of bass.

  • Level Control: The level control adjusts the subwoofer's volume relative to the rest of your home audio system. After the sub's level control has been set, the volume control of your AV receiver will be the volume control for both the Klipsch powered subwoofer and your connected loudspeakers.
  • Low Pass Crossover: The variable lowpass crossover is adjustable from 40-120Hz. The crossover point chosen determines where low bass frequencies are "handed-off" from your AV system's loudspeakers to the Klipsch powered subwoofer. Set the crossover point based on the size of your systems' main left/right speakers.
  • Phase Control: This control is used to acoustically match the subwoofer's output to your main speakers. Select the position either 0˚ or 180˚ in which your subwoofer has more output at the listening position.

LFE/RCA Inputs: The Klipsch R-10SW powered subwoofer is equipped with a pair of line-level RCA-type inputs to connect the sub to your receiver or integrated amplifier.

  • LFE Input: Most of today's AV receivers have a line-level subwoofer output (LFE). If your receiver has an LFE output, connect one end of a subwoofer cable (sold separately) to this output and connect the other end of the cable into the powered subwoofer's line-level input labeled "LEFT/LFE". Set the powered sub's built-in crossover to "LFE" with this type of connection.
  • Stereo Input: In absence of a subwoofer (LFE) output on your receiver, as an alternative hookup, you can connect Left & Right channel pre-amp outputs from the receiver to both the "Left/LFE" and "Right" inputs on the powered subwoofer.

LED Indicator: The front-mounted LED power indicator lets you know when the sub is powered on or off. The LED will light green when the powered subwoofer is on and receiving a signal. If the LED is dark and not lit, the powered sub is off.

Auto Power On/Off: The powered subwoofer will automatically turn On when it senses an audio signal. It will automatically go into "Standby mode" after 15-20 minutes with no audio signal. You can also choose to turn the powered sub On or Off manually from the rear-switch on the back.

Placement: Klipsch powered subwoofers are designed to reproduce deep bass and deliver the impact that makes your movies and music come alive. For optimum performance, place your subwoofer in a corner of the room on the same wall as your front channel speakers. Please note that room placement can have a dramatic effect on the performance of your powered subwoofer. Corner placement, as suggested above, will increase the amount of bass output, while placing the subwoofer along the middle of a wall, or out in the room will decrease the amount of bass output.

I've purchased the 14 in version for a larger room and it sounds awesome. The room I setting up now is much smaller so I went with the smaller Sub. It happened to go on sale so I wanted to grab it before the price went up. [ Frank  Jul 13, 2016 ]

I have Klipsch front and center channel speakers now and I've wanted a Klipsch Reference Subwoofer to round out the system. I have a smaller sub now that sounds good, but I think the Klipsch will fill out the low end of my system to kick it up a notch! [ Stephen  Jul 13, 2016 ]

No, it doesn't come with a remote control. Most of the time a sub-woofer is set-and-forget, however. Once you get it dialed in, you probably won't ever need to touch the controls again. [ James  Apr 05, 2018 ]
No remote control. Manual controls are on the back. Has an auto switch which adjusts automatically if you choose to use [ Scott  Apr 05, 2018 ]
It does not [ Sumeet  Apr 05, 2018 ]
Nope. [ Efren  Apr 05, 2018 ]
It does not come with a remote. [ E  Apr 05, 2018 ]
No [ John  Apr 05, 2018 ]
No it does not include a remote. It connects to the sub output on your receiver. So Level is controlled by your receiver. [ John  Apr 05, 2018 ]

This sub does not come with a remote controller. [ Jacob  Apr 05, 2018 ]
The cable I am using has no grounds. It is just plugged straight into the CFE inputs on the receiver and the sub. I have had no problems. I think my receiver also has a hookup for a ground, but I have nothing attached to it. You might try a different cable with no ground wire, or just unhook the ground wire both places, but that is just a guess. I did struggle a little initially with the setup with left/right vs CFE, but I went CFE on rec to CFE (which I think was the left input on the sub) and after I did that receiver setup with the receiver mike, it worked like a charm. [ Eric  May 26, 2017 ]
I really don't think so. In an outdoor setting, this speaker would soon be ruined. Check out Crutchfields big selection of outdoor speakers on line. Daniel L [ DANIEL L  May 04, 2017 ]
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best sub I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the models to confirm compatibility and help you make the best choice for your system. [ Kenny  Nov 12, 2016 ]  Staff
Hi Jason, I have been using the R-10SW for a couple of years now in a room that is 17' x 15' and I am very happy with this powered sub woofer. Outside of what your budget permits I would base my choice on where I am going to place my sub woofer. If you must place your sub close to a wall than a sub that is ported out the front should be considered. Most manuals will tell you to stay a certain distance from a wall if your sub is ported out the rear. Jim [ JAMES S  Apr 19, 2016 ]
I have both. The sw-110 is in the living room, the r-10sw is in the theatre room. The r-10sw has a port in the back and seems to deliver a bigger, fuller sound. They are both driven by Yamaha home theatre receivers. If 50.00 bucks is no object I would recommend the r-10sw. hope this helps. [ roger  Apr 19, 2016 ]
The inputs to this speaker are "line-level" (RCA jacks), not an amplified signal from you amp. See "Specs" tab at /R-10SW/details at the manufacturers website [ Jeffrey  Mar 02, 2015 ]
TheThe doThe literature doesn't specify that I can find but I suspect it's 8 ohms. It's powered so I'm not sure it matters since there's no way to daisy-chain it to another speaker. Btw, this unit really helps solidify the bottom and the gain is easily varied by easily reaching the control on the back without moving anything so you can adjust according to your program material.
