Take your Klipsch home theater to new heights

Our customers love the performance and value of Klipsch's Reference-series speakers. If you've got Reference tower or bookshelf speakers, the add-on R-14SA pair lets you experience Dolby Atmos. That's a newer type of surround sound that expands your movie soundtracks by reflecting sounds off the ceiling.

How do they work?

Each R-14SA speaker has a 4" woofer and a horn-loaded tweeter on its top baffle. These drivers are angled to reflect sound off of your ceiling and back down to your listening position. They're designed sit right on top of your existing Reference speakers. Use a pair with your front towers, or add another pair to the rear surround towers for an even more enveloping experience. They can also be wall-mounted for use as regular surround speakers.

Does your receiver have what it takes?

You'll need a home theater receiver with Dolby Atmos in order to get enhanced surround sound with these speakers.

Just hooked up the speakers yesterday to a Denon AVR-X2300W receiver and calibrated them with the Audyssey system. Then took them for a test drive with "The Martian", 4k Blu-ray Atmos. They definitely added sparkle to the sound stage. The sound was much more immersive and sound objects apparent, even to my uneducated ear. I'm now future ready and loving it.

II have all Klipsch front line up RB-61 II, RC-62 II and these Atmos speakers. They complement very well for movies. Also, for music, they provide a HIgh end edge on sound. Very pleased with the ATMOS R-14SA

You definitely need 2 pairs to get a full atmos effect. This is my 2nd, and now I want to go back and watch all my atmos movies again.

Great ATMOS speakers

Bob from Herndon, VA on 12/18/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great pair of Atmos speakers. I put them atop two large BA towers pointed at the ceiling and hooked up to Yamaha RX-A1070. Listening to source with DB encoding for ATMOS, you can hear spaceships and bullets flying overhead.

Pros: small size, big sound perfect for ATMOS

Cons: only the price

Great Atmos speaker

Paul from Colorado Spgs, CO on 12/7/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Seems to be a great Atmos speaker. I am usine it as Atmos enabled now, but I plan a ceiling mount in the near future.

Pros: Self enclosed, easy set-up

Cons: Limited low frequency response

Added Height

Brad from Jonesborough, TN on 12/6/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Speakers arrived faster than expected! Great customer service obviously all around. Klipsch always has great packaging and everything arrived safe and unblemished. Hookup is straight forward and after "tuning" the room through the receiver, these speakers perform better than expected! I do feel that once there is more content I will be even happier with them, but for now...the added height with music and especially some of the newer movies is really great! I would buy again!

New sound plane is awesome

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perfect addition to my home theater. I recently upgraded my receiver to an Atmos enabled unit. The added sound dimension is awesome. These sit perfectly on top of my Klipsch bookshelf speakers. Highly recommended

Pros: Easy to install

Cons:

Great Expansion Speakers

Anonymous from Dayton, OH on 9/11/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far so good. I bought a Denon AVR-X2300W receiver a few months ago. The receiver is capable of ATMOS processing so I bought these expansion speakers. With the Denon's Audyssey speaker calibration capabilities my home theater has never sounded so good. I'm giving 4 stars only because I haven't yet encountered authentic ATMOS enabled countent. It is still pretty rare. The X2300 apparently sends faux ATMOS signals to the R-14SA's. I'll may revise my review after I watch a movie with true ATMOS surround tracks.

Pros: Look great. Easy to install and calibrate.

Cons: Not much ATMOS content just yet.

I wouldn't be concerned. These are 8 ohm speakers, so that will drop your receiver's peak output to 130W, plus that is just peak power, not RMS. The sound going to these speakers should be filtered to Atmos-specific frequencies, which should have a limited range. I personally have an Onkyo TX-NR656 with these speakers and it works great. [ bryan  Mar 15, 2018 ]
Speakers are most often blown when an amp exceeds it power capabilities and goes into clipping, putting out ultra sonic square waves at high frequencies. Tweeters try to reproduce these full power square waves and fail. More speakers are blown from too little power than too much clean power. [ Paul  Mar 14, 2018 ]
I have the Onkyo RZ3100 rated at 200w per channel for 6 ohm speakers and added the Klipsch Reference R-14SA's about 6 months ago. I havent had any problems, they sound great! [ TYLER  Mar 14, 2018 ]
A full ATMOS setup for the home is a 7.2.4 configuration - 11 channels. The 7 refers to the two front speakers, the surround side speakers pair, the rear surround speakers pair, and the single center channel. The 2 refers to two subs and the 4 refers to the two pairs of height - or ATMOS - speakers; a 7.2.4 configurations usually requires 11 channels. However, if your receiver allows for a 5.2.4 or 5.1.4 configuration then it will have two sets of height speakers amp outputs and you can add two pairs of height speakers. If your receiver only has one set of height amp outputs the you can only add one pair of height speakers. However, if you receiver allows assigning extra up unused zone channels you might be able to assign a 2nd pair of height speakers to them. [ Peter  Jan 25, 2018 ]
Not sure if I completely understand what you are asking. These speakers do work if you have an Atmos capable receiver. I ordered two pair and I have a 7.4.1 setup and am satisfied. I also bought these because I can place them on top of my tower speakers. [ KEN  Nov 13, 2017 ]
The R-15M are 7in wide 8 in deep 12.5 in high. Seems to me that you would have to put the R15M on its side. Hope this helps. [ Frank  Oct 18, 2017 ]
I have the same speakers. Yrs they do for on top, barely. The rubber feet just fit but the atmos speakers are deeper and hang over a few inches. [ Jerry  Oct 15, 2017 ]
