Excellent speakers! I could not be happier!
These are some powerful small speakers, great sound. Fits perfect on my 5.1.4 set up watching movie now in my living room is phenomenal . Love klipsch there are some top quality speakers, i highly recommended them.
Pros: Great sound
Cons: None yet , and I thought if anything will pop up
Very good small speakers. I use them as surround speakers in a 5.1 setup (all Klipsh). Beautiful speakers that produce good sound.
Pros: Price (were on sale). Good sound and good looks.
After unpacking my new speakers, I was impressed first off by the packaging alone, very well done and protected. After applying the small rubber feet, I placed them on my shelf and was immediately astounded by the sound. Now these will not compare to Klipsch further up the range of products, do not buy these if you think they will perform like a set of Heresy, Forte, or Cornwall. Those are in an entirely different league. These are great for bedroom systems, and could be built out to an entire surround system. Unless you are listening to bass heavy music, these will perform quite well, of course you can always add a powered sub to round out the spectrum if you need to.
Pros: Seems to be well made, very quick response, and decent amount of lows for this small size. They are not power hungry, but can handle large amounts if the need arises.
Cons: None so far, just don't expect them to sound like something they are not.
Size was a major concern in purchasing. These speakers were just what we needed. Sound wise- we love them. We play a variety of music, some vocals and acoustic guitar and the sound is great. Not into 'loud' so no comment there but overall very happy. Build is good. And Crutchfield service always excellent!
These speakers sound surprisingly good. I compared them to the R-14Ms and they are significantly better sounding.
They work just fine. I bought them in the store but they were not in stock. They were delivered on time as promised.
using for surround back, sound effects, background incredible.would not hesitate to use for main front l & r.will keep these somewhere in my home theater for rest of my life
Pros: just superb speakers
Great sound great price
Great sound! My old jazz LP's, some over 60 years old, never sounded better. Thankful for the recommendation by the sales associate.
Pros: Great sound on the whole range of highs and lows. Brings my old jazz LPs to life.
Lots of value for the price. Using them as satellites left and right rear. Hearing all DTS and Dolby Digital. I watched the Midnight Special movie - enjoyed sounds of cars moving through all speakers.
Pros: Price and workmanship of the product
These speakers sound great. Matches perfectly with all the other Klipsch speakers in my home theater setup. Use a Klipsch RS-10 or 12 sub with these and fill the room with excellent sound at any volume.
Ear fatiguing tinny sound with harsh tweeters. Having owned the Rf-62ii's for many years and using these as surrounds, I moved these into a bedroom to attempt to use them as mains for music and HT. Bad idea. The resulting sound was echo chamber or mall bathroom with voices sounding extremely exaggerated. The low end frequency response is nowhere near enough to seamlessly blend a subwoofer. I switched these to DT SM45s and I almost started crying. No comparison. Don't waste your money on these. Go with low end Polk towers or spend a few bucks more and get the DT SM45s.
Cons: Ear Fatigue, Hollow Sound, Echo Chamber, Weak Bass Response
These speakers match up well in my 5.1.2 home theater. I'm currently using them as my rear surround channels. I am running 280f and 440c in the front. They go together acoustically and flow very well. I have not tested these in a front stereo configuration yet, but I imagine they would sound amazing playing music. Would recommend buying these to anyone looking to upgrade your sound. Easy install and well built product. Looks good with or without the grill guard. Great customer service as always. Will do business again in the near future.
Pros: Great looking speaker Great sound Very secure packaging Easy install
Cons: Passive crossover design (one pair of binding posts) Doesn't look aesthetically pleasing as the Reference Premiere line
Great little speakers for an awesome price. Hooked these up to a Sony STR-DH520 and a cheap subwoofer I already had. None of the supporting equipment is top of the line but these speakers still sound great with music, TV shows, and movies.
Great sound from such a small speaker. I would definitely purchase these again.
Pros: Great price. Well worth the cost for the sound they put out.
Best speakers I've ever owned. Crystal clear sound and plenty of volume.
I bought these to replace some really cheap speakers. I was having a hard time hearing the voices in movies etc. These new speakers are great. Watched Wonder Woman on them and I could hear all the dialog even during action scenes and explosions. The sound overall was very crisp and clear. A massive improvement over the old speakers.
Impressive sound quality! When I first heard them I thought ohhh what is all that noise! As I sat down and focused on what I was hearing I realized what I thought was a wall of noise settled in to a wall of ten different sounds cymbals here guitar strings there drum beat over there. Remarkable pure clean distinct highs and suprisingly strong bass. Within minutes I was so pleased by these speakers I told some music loving friends to go buy them!!!!
Pros: Nice look (with grill covers off) very efficient doing an A/b comparison with my infinity primus 150s they are louder and a little brighter and I love the Infinitys . great binding posts as I use banana plugs whenever I can. I highly recommend these speakers!
Cons: They seem to be sold out in most places
I brought these bookshelf speakers for my lake home in Canada. I could not believe their sound for the price I payed. I finally have a quality home theater system in our home away from home. Love them and recommend them as a great addition to your home theater system.
I have not hooked them up yet.
Fills the room very well with sound even at low volume.
Good quality sound and value for a mid-sized speaker.
Great set of speakers! They sound amazing, got 2 pairs in my man cave.
Pros: Great price and great sound. They are relatively small for the power they pack so they go great on a set of wall mounts.
Cons: 1 woofer had an issue after a couple months but as always Crutchfield customer support was quick to send me a replacement!
Replaced a set of JBL bookshelf speaks with these and love them. I can hear my music again.
The bass response is the only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars. (If I could, I would give 4.5.stars.) Everything else exceeded expectations; especially for the price. As they have done for many, many years, Crutchfield gave excellent advice and service.
Replaced my front channels of older 5.1 surround sound system and I am impressed with the sound quality. I bought them on sale and feel like it is an excellent value. Have been wanting to own Klipsch for a while. I feel good about doing business with Crutchfield because of their above average customer service. I have had good luck with several purchases over the past few years.
Pros: Good for movies, TV and music.
The speakers give much better sound quality and they fit the space I have. They also look good.
Pros: The sound quality and the size.
As they were on special, I purchased the R-15Ms to replace the front speakers of a smaller Klipsch 5-speaker surround set. My Denon amp calibrated the sound so well they sounded basically the same as the speakers they replaced. However when I connected directly to my NAS and played back FLAC files in stereo they sound excellent. Not the most refined of speakers, but good dynamic range and clean bass.
Pros: Excellent value for money. Match well with other Klipsch speakers
I've done a lot of research and read several reviews for a simailar size bookshelf speakers in replacing the 30 plus years klipsch K2. After chatting with staff members at Crutchfield , I decided klipsch R15. When I got this product after 3 days shipping to Southern California. I anxiously hook it up to my a/v receiver Onkyo TX-SR 700. Amazing, it got plenty of pounding bass for that size! I am a fan of early sixties/seventies/eighties heavy rocks, I had turned it down a bit due to the complaint of my deaf wife!
Pros: It got plenty of pounding bass and afraid to crank it up for a speakers of that size!
Cons: It small!
Like most Klipsch speakers these have great mid range and true to life tone. Paired with a sub they'd be a nice little system, but even by themselves they sound great.
Pros: sound size price
Cons: Need some stands for these if you don't have a bookshelf to put them on.
Great sound, not heavy, great sharp look
Pros: Blends in perfectly with the surround theater and on 2ch when playing music.
I love these speakers, the sound fills the room. My records sound fantastic. The highest I have turned my stereo is only halfway up and they get really loud and don't lose any detail or sound bad.
I finally upgraded from a 5.1 to a 7.1 surround system, and I used these speakers as my surround back L/R channels to do it. What a world of difference! Compared to the R-28F, which I am using a pair for my front L/R, the sound coming from the R-15M is on par. The main purpose I purchased these is for home theater, but I have tested them in stereo for music. Simply beautiful sounding, especially with acoustic guitar.
Pros: Multi-purpose performance excellence
Cons: I have yet to encounter any
Great speakers.. making a huge sounding, crisp and detailed contribution to my system! Love them!
Pros: Large, clean , detailed sound !
Awesome bookshelf speakers paired with Marantz SR7011 and RS-12 subwoofer. Excellent sound, volume, and clarity. At the moment they are front speakers, but I will have other plans for them when I order more speakers. Might be placed as front height speakers.
Purchased the bundle with the Yamaha R-S202 for my garage tunes. I didn't want all the bass that comes with floor standing speakers and a sub (well, my neighbors don't anyway) yet I wanted crisp great sounding tunes. I love these speakers! You can't get this sound from your mini shelf systems, plus I'm able to move these little guys outside and they can fill the back yard with great quality sound. I understand you get what you pay for, and I have no regrets spending a little extra for the quality.
Pros: Light weight, mobile, crisp sound, very good bass considering the size
Cons: Haven't found any yet
First off, to the persons who gave a 1 or 2 star rating. Wake up people, these are a small book shelf speakers, so no you're not going to get tons of bass. Also the port is on the back of the speaker box, that's where you can get more bass out of them. So don't place them pushed right up to the wall or even worse, placing them without any type of wall behind them. You need to move them around and find the best place to take a advantage of the port on the back of the speaker. They need to be anywhere between 4 to 8 inches from a wall or even better and gold into a corner of the wall to utilize the port to manipulate the bass that you can get out of them. The specs say they only go down to about 68 to 72 Hz . Without question these need to be used with a subwoofer. The mid to high range these babies sound fantastic. And let's not forget that a speaker is a mechanical , piston driven device , so they have a break-in process . One more thing. Out of every 100 of the gold drivers that are made for klipsch, only 45 to 65 % of them pass inspection to be installed into one of their cabinets ( a.k.a.) speaker boxes.
Pros: Great sound in the mid to high range And respectable low end , not sub range
Cons: The people who don't know how to do the correct placement of the speakers to get the Maximum sound. 70% of the people who give bad reviews never even heard or seen these speakers in person
Bought speakers bundled with the Yamaha R-S202 receiver to replace a 25 year old Onkyo mini system. Cannot say enough about the difference in sound quality. Clarity is outstanding. Future plans are to purchase another pair to place in home office.
Pros: Compact. Quality construction.
Cons: none to date
First I'd like to say that I don't understand why some people don't like these, they are absolutely phenomenal, I have these running off of a Onkyo TX-NR656 receiver and the sound is amazing hearing everything out of my music I live in an Apartment and I never turn the volume past 50,plan on buying another pair for the back, these speakers are awesome. James Atlanta. 6/07/17.
Pros: Big sound small package.
I decided to order the R-15M's to replace the smaller model R-14M's that I purchased earlier. I am so pleased that I made this decision. The R-15M's are so much better providing incredible outputs of bass and treble. I connected them to my Pioneer Receiver and was immediately impressed with their performance. Highly recommended particularly for stereo and/or surround sound systems.
Pros: Excellent sound particualry outputs of bass.
Cons: Would like to have it designed in a smaller size to be able to better situate it at the living room.
awesome speakers in a small package. First time the wife ever said turn it up!
Pros: Great sound, handles lots of Watts, small footprint
Cons: none so far
The speaker quality is nothing like I expected. My Fisher speakers with my Sony receiver were much better.
Cons: The speakers looked larger on the web page than they actually are. The sound isn't bad. But I replaced much larger older speakers and they do not match up.Crutchfield response on 4/4/2017 Jay, we're sorry you were disappointed with your new speakers. Beautiful speaker with a high quality sound. Just completed my home theater system with this pair.
I hooked these speakers up to my system not the Yamaha I bought. I have a Sony receiver with JBL -L 112 s so I am used to those speakers that after 35 yrs. still rock the house. I wanted to hear what the Klipsch sounded like so I hooked them up to my receiver and I was not impressed, since I bought these for my grandson and will be hooking them up to the Yamaha receiver I bought for him these will be fine, if they were for me I would send them back.
Cons: Poor sound
Great sound and size was just what I wanted for my bedroom
Replaced a crappy pair of surround speakers to go with nice Klipsch sub, center channel and floor standing speakers driven by a Denon AV receiver. They made a noticeable difference.
Pros: Good fit with my other Klipsch speakers. Typical high quality I expected for not very expensive pair,
Cons: Mounting on the wall sideways, so Klipsch badge is sideways (not a big deal)
For the application in which the Klipsch Reference R-15M is being used, it is a perfect fit, and has quite a response range. The speakers are being used in a cabinet made for book shelf type speakers in a small apartment. The sensitivity of these speakers is awesome, requiring very little volume to drive the speakers at an acceptable level. The quality is evident and I have become quite used to a premium product.
Pros: Quality for the price. Great replacement
Cons: For my specific case only, the speakers were just about an inch too tall, had to lay the speakers on the sides to fit my particular application. Other than that, no real cons.
I use these along with a Sub-woofer and find they have very clear sound, especially if you take the time to adjust the EQ for each genre of music you are listening to. Many people tend to "set and forget" but due to the variability of sound engineering on different cuts it really helps to make these adjustments on each album. They have just enough bass to add to the mix and the highs are very clear and can be easily adjusted based on the volume you choose. My use is in a smaller room for both music and TV audio, which really adds to that experience. Small footprint allows for easy placement.
Pros: Small footprint and clear response. Integrate well with a Sub Solid construction
Cons: None yet
Great, really great combination of features by thorough design. Delivers clear stereo sound with lots of power to spare. Remove covers and it adds to festivity by shining warm light.
Pros: Power to spare, great looks, true bookshelf dimensions. Unobtrusive color. Front covers are removable.
Cons: Nothing so far.
Amazing sound!! Love the quality and bass. Great for music and movies.
Pros: Quality on the sound and price.
Overall, very nice sound reproduction with good highs. The deep basses are a bit lacking but still very good for this size speaker and the basses may improved some with adjustment to placement and the equalization of the amplifier. But that will need to wait until the painting and other work is done in the den. The speakers work with no issues but do remember that the terminals are screw-style so unless you are preparing new cabling, you may fine the bare leads you have are a bit short if you are replacing spring-clip type terminals. Very pleased with the sound; a large improvement over a pair of 15 year old speakers.
Pros: Great high frequency response and surprisingly good low frequency (bass) response.
Cons: The screw-style terminals are rather on the larger size and can be a bit challenging to operate with large fingers and short bare wire leads.
These speakers are amazing and for their size have awesome sound. I got these speakers because two of my klipsch quintet speakers went to crap and I needed two new front speakers. After reading many reviews on these speakers I ended up choosing these because I knew I just needed something with good sound since I already have a Polk Audio subwoofer. Let me just say that these things are beyond loud for their size. I have an older Pioneer receiver and I haven't been able to turn it up past half way without not being able to hear anything else. These things bring music, movies and tv shows to life. Can't say enough how happy I am with these speakers!!! Plus I have to give credit to Crutchfield. I had issues in the beginning with my purchase going through due to my mailing address not matching up. Once I changed that and notified them my order was still at my door within a couple days. Much appreciated to the Crutchfield shipping department. I will be ordering a new receiver and subwoofer soon and you can best believe I will be getting it from Crutchfield.
Pros: Amazing sound for bookshelf speakers.
I've only had this speaker system for two weeks, but so far, I'm very impressed with it. It is my foray into into Klipsch products and smaller "bookshelf" speaker systems. The sound is great for the size of the speaker system, and it has really surprised me with the great bass response. I'm driving it with an older Sony 40 wpc receiver, and the efficiency of these speakers is great --- it gives me plenty of volume with the Sony's volume control at the "2" mark (out of 10). Considering the price of these during the Black Friday sale, my only regret is that I didn't buy two sets of them, but if they're on sale next year, I'll definitely buy another set.
Pros: Great bass and treble response. High efficiency. Overall a great set of speakers for casual listening. They can run at some impressively loud sound levels.
I bought a pair on sale. Pretty hard to beat. Sound is decent, there is some bass. I use these in my workshop so, not a place for critical listening. Efficiency is good. I am using these with a subwoofer.
Pros: Price vs. Performance
I ordered these speakers for my office. Paired then with a nad d 3020. I'm getting very nice clean sound. Super happy!
These produce a very crisp sound in the high and mid range. They are plenty loud for my application too. I'm using a 12" sub to pick up the low end.
Pros: Crisp and loud
Perfect fit for my surround sound system at a great price with fast holiday delivery.
Amazing sound, hearing instruments I've never heard before. Love it
The speakers are still undergoing break in, but the sound is excellent. Incredible highs and the lows are quite sufficient for my purposes (home theater and listening to vinyl) at "reasonable" volume. They arrived quickly and set up was very simple. In addition, being on sale helped in the decision!
Pros: Small, attractive and sound incredible
Received these speakers earlier this week. They are outstanding. Absolutely what I wanted. Can't believe that kind of sound coming from bookshelf speakers. Worth every penny.
Pros: size, quality of build, sound.
Cons: None whatsoever.
Super sound! Very well designed and built.
Pros: Sound and look Great.

5.25" Copper-Spun IMG Woofer: The Klipsch R-15M bookshelf speaker is outfitted with a single 5.25" Copper-Spun IMG woofer. Note: The R-15M bookshelf speaker does not include a keyhole slot to wall-mount the speaker. Nor, does it feature a threaded insert to wall-mount the speaker using an optional wall-mount bracket.
Placement: For optimum performance, Klipsch suggests placing the bookshelf speakers 6' to 15' apart. They may also be toed-in slightly for better stereo imaging. The listening position should be about 1 to 1.5x the distance separating the speakers.

The Klipsch Reference series line-up of loudspeakers sound great in stereo and home theater applications.
Optional Powered Sub: For bigger & deeper bass response, pair the R-15M bookshelf speaker with one of Klipsch's powered subwoofers (sold separately - see Accessories Tab).

They could be, but I wouldn't recommend it. The bass port is in the back of the speaker and putting it against the wall would eliminate what little bass you get from the speaker. [ Robert May 28, 2017 ]
yes you can mount these on the wall with the proper hardware. But remember the optimal speaker height for these speakers is around 32 to 46 in. Mounted too high the quality of the sound is distorted. [ Vernon Keith May 27, 2017 ]
Not designed for a wall mounting. They are bass reflex speakers. The ports are on the back. [ Hanson May 27, 2017 ]
Only on a shelf in my opinion. They are a little too heavy [ William May 27, 2017 ]
I believe a wall mount would be OK as long as you allow at least 2 inch clearance at the back. [ David H. May 26, 2017 ]
There is a slight curve to the top of the speaker. [ Robert May 28, 2017 ]
The top of the grill is curved. HTH! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101 [ Paul Jan 24, 2017 ] Staff
Hi Christoper, Crutchfield has asked me to answer your question about mounting these Klipsch speakers to the wall and I don't know why they can't help you theirselfs, unless its to save money, but I will because my answer is short. I myself would NOT "mount" them, at least not in the usual sense. Instead, I would get 4 "L-shaped" brackets in the same color or nearly so to the color of your wall, get an appropriately-sized board to hold them and appropriately STRONG screws to securely affix the brackets to the wall, and just PLACE the speakers on the board n' brackets. This will allow for moving them to the best angles to suit the listening characteristics of your room, AND allow for whatever room in back of the speakers where the speaker wire attaches, with whatever kind of speaker wire and speaker wire ends you are using (banana pin plugs are the best as these are the sturdiest and most secure, also providing for the best sound transmission from amp to speakers.) -Hope this has helped. These are not "great" speakers but "solidly good." I wouldn't waste my time and trouble on fancy wall mounts. [ Roger William Jan 14, 2017 ]
Just got my speakers a couple weeks ago and I haven't had a chance to mount them on the wall yet that is my weekend project [ TERRY A Jan 13, 2017 ]
get a double sided wall mounting bracket, which would attach to the wall and screw to the speaker. or build a shelf for the speaker only and attach to the wall and the speaker would just sit on. 2nd option would be my choice [ Scott Jan 13, 2017 ]
I do not know. Not sure why you would want to set these up with a sound bar. Get the R25C center channel speaker to compliment this pair. [ Robert Jan 09, 2017 ]
I'm not sure, but these little speakers sound amazing! I would buy them anyway. [ Vernon Keith Jan 08, 2017 ]
do not know. Speakers were used in a 7-2 speaker set up. Have a sound bar but it totally set up different. [ Frank Jan 08, 2017 ]
Yes they can be placed on the side in fact I have one of mine on its side. It sounds great. [ David H. Sep 15, 2016 ]
They absolutely can as that is how I am using them. You will find in the box the feet for the speakers are adhesive and not attached. You place them where you want them. [ Hanson Sep 15, 2016 ]
I'm sure a "purist" would say that optimum position is "upright." However, there is no physical reason that the speaker couldn't be placed on its side. If it is intended to leave in this position, the rubber isolators should be attached to the bottom side. [ DAVID M Sep 15, 2016 ]
You can place them anyway you wanted to it's your preference [ John Sep 14, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. No, this product can only use a wired connection. Hope that helps. [ Kenny Aug 23, 2016 ] Staff
