Klipsch Reference R-24F
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Sounds great looks great....zvery satisfied.
I still remember the "wow factor" that I experienced when I upgraded my home stereo system to tower speakers. The whole room came alive with rich, full sound. Since then I've become an advocate for using floor-standing speakers to get the most out of music and movies. If you're considering using tower speakers in your system, a pair of the Klipsch Reference R-24Fs are a worthy choice. This speaker uses a large internal acoustic chamber to produce big sound that will fill your room. And with a slim 6-1/2" wide footprint, these handsome towers won't overpower your floor space.
Over the years Klipsch has become famous for their Tractrix® horn-loaded tweeter. This design is able to deliver clear, accurate high frequencies. The R-24F utilizes this tweeter along with two 4-1/2" copper spun woofers to create natural, full-range sound. It's also very efficient, so you won't need a lot of power to drive it. Two sets of sturdy 5-way binding posts allow for bi-amping or bi-wiring.
Add more bass to a pair of R-24Fs with a matching subwoofer, or team them with other Klipsch Reference speakers for high-impact home theater.

Very nice sounds, good price for good quality.
Speakers sound extremely clear, Crutchfield team was great to work with and had wonderful experience in the store. Would highly recommend these speakers
Very good service
Great entry level sounding speakers , great bass and overall sound for small to medium size rooms,
Pros: Worth the price
Clear crisp, clean sound, just what you want in speaker. I have them paired with a Yamaha AS-301. Great sound. Customer service is great, Hunter helped make the decision that was right for me, no pressure. Will only use Crutchfield and have already recommended them to friends. John M
Pros: Great sound
When I took them out of the box I thought I should have gone with the larger model. After listening to them I was blown away with the sound. Better than my Bose speakers. Using a vintage Sansui G8000 to power them.
Superb sound that is clean and tight. I have these wired to a 2 channel receiver in my office/library. They aren't fully broken in, but they get better with each use. The highs are incredible, almost sharp, but I can tweak them down a bit. I have always been a bookshelf speaker person and replaced a pair of R15's with this model.
Pros: Clean sound
Cons: Would prefer a light wood finish.
Great sound, coupled with Onkyo TX-NR656 receiver. Am looking a upgrading center speaker for even better surround sound.
Nice speakers and sound. Plenty of bass for a small tv room without needing a sub-woofer. Only complaint is that the grilles slowly work themselves loose and have to be re-seated regularly. No I don't turn them up to 11! Hope this will improve over time because I don't want to have to glue them on.
Excellent sound. We are using a five speaker set up for home theater. Center, these two towers and two 7x10x14 bookshelf or satellite speakers on stands. Our great room is 25 x 31 feet with ten foot ceilings. So basically, it takes care of the whole house with room to spare. Yes, there is a 12", 1,000 watt subwoofer.
Pros: clarity, separation, like having the orchestra, choir or band in the same room.
Excellent sound response, super quality. Great for vinyl records. They just keep getting better with every hour of use. Would highly recommend them.
Pros: Klipsch quality, need I say more.
Cons: Wish I had another pair.
Started using them last month. They continue to sound better each day. I love to listen to jazz, these speakers make it sound like you are at a concert.
Pros: Sound quality
The best speakers i have ever listened too for the price, awesome sound added to my Home theater..Love them.
Awesome set of speakers. Very happy. thanks Crutchfield.
Klipsch are the best !
After putting much research and thought into an upgrade for my media room, I recently purchased the Klipsch R-24F's along with the Klipsch R-10SW sub and a Polk Signature S35 center channel (I'm using some old Bose 301's series V as rear speakers). I have to say, I've been totally blown away by the improvement. While my ancient Bose Acoustimass 5 Series II speakers were "OK", not being able to hear movie dialogue was clearly a drawback and, well, driving me crazy. I can't believe the clarity of the R-24F's. I've read some "complaints" about their being "too bright" and lacking in depth. However, I find the brightness pleasing to the ear and if the lack of bottom end actually is an issue, the R-10SW subs I added certainly took care of it. They compliment each other beautifully. While somewhat small in stature, these great looking speakers produce a big, well-balanced sound that is just a joy to listen too. I'm running everything through a Sony STRDH550 and volumes of 40-50 are high enough to rock a media room that's about 19' x 29' (half of the length is the seating / viewing area). The improvement in the surround sound "experience" has Just been incredible. The Polk Signature S35 is thin enough to fit just below the flatscreen and now, for once, I can watch a movie without needing subtitles :) I would highly recommend the R-24F's (as well as the R-10SW and the Signature S-35). Kudos to Crutchfield for providing an awesome purchasing experience.
Pros: Small footprint; big sound
Cons: None that I can tell
Clear crisp sound very happy with this
Cons: It's a little small
Got these on sale for just under $400 a pair. At this price, great value. They are well built and have great overall sound. I was a bit concerned that the woofers weren't that large and would not do well with bass heavy rock or blues or '70s funk, but they sound great with plenty of boom for the basement/den they are in. The speaker cabinet woodwork isn't the finest wood or anything really upscale, but overall solid build and good looks. Five star in my view, given the value for price factor. I use them with an Onkyo TX-8160 receiver, an old Kenwood KD3070 turntable, and an older CD player. I can play my music files from my iPhone via the receiver's Bluetooth function. No TV hooked up--just music. Now I just need to upgrade my old CD player, which won't play CD-Rs I've made at home from downloads I've purchased.
Pros: great highs. Bass surprisingly robust.
Cons: None so far.

Dual 4.5" Copper-Spun IMG Woofers: The Klipsch R-24F floorstanding speaker is outfitted with two 4.5" Copper-Spun IMG woofers. The Copper-Spun IMG (Injection Molded Graphite) woofer is exceptionally light while being extremely rigid - providing remarkable low frequency response, with minimal cone breakup and distortion.
Front-Firing Port: The Klipsch Reference series floorstanding speaker features a front-firing port that is perfectly matched to the cabinet and drivers. The front placement of the port creates ideal airflow with minimal distortion.
MDF Cabinet: The Klipsch R-24F floorstanding speaker features a MDF cabinet with a brushed polymer veneer black finish that seamlessly integrates into almost any room or decor. Placement: For optimum performance, Klipsch suggests placing the floorstanding speakers 6' to 15' apart. They may also be toed-in slightly for better stereo imaging. The listening position should be about 1 to 1.5x the distance separating the speakers.
Reference Series: The Klipsch Reference series consists of three floorstanding speakers (R-24F/R-26F/R-28F), two bookshelf speakers (R-14M/R-15M), one center channel speaker (R-25C), and one surround speaker (R-14S). The Klipsch Reference series line-up of loudspeakers sound great in stereo and home theater applications.
Optional Powered Sub: For bigger & deeper bass response, pair the R-24F floorstanding speaker with one of Klipsch's powered subwoofers (sold separately - see Accessories Tab).

My new Yamaha receiver runs 8 and 6 ohms and the speakers I have all run 4 ohms. I could have made sure my receiver never runs LOUD and the four ohms may be fine, but it would run possibly burn out the receiver earlier. [ Stephen Sep 06, 2016 ]
I'd have to say that while these speakers are beautifully bright, crisp and clean on the high end, I find the dual 4.5" woofers severely lacking in low-end. Had I not bought the Klipsch R-10SW subwoofer with these, I would have returned the speakers and got the larger Klipsch's. The subwoofer just makes up for the lack of bass in the 24's. Hope that helps... I wouldn't recommend using the R-24F's as your two main speakers. [ Joseph Dec 16, 2016 ]
Yes they do. I use a 20+ year old Sony Receiver with 60 watts per channel. The sound is great and as the Klipsch R-24F are highly efficient they don't require much power. [ William A. Dec 16, 2016 ]
I got these for my son last month. He is very happy with the sound. He is young but listens to music old school on a record player. They sound amazing!! [ JOE N Dec 16, 2016 ]
These are great speakers that should work well with any new or older stereo receiver/amp. I am using them as rear surround speakers and the performance and sound reproduction is wonderful. [ Bruce Dec 16, 2016 ]
