Klipsch R-2502-W II
Our take on the Klipsch R-2502-W II by Crutchfield's Marshall Chase
Enjoy great sound throughout your home with Klipsch® R-2502-W II wall-mount speakers. Their high-tech design and solid construction deliver ear-pleasing results for movies or music. Use them as surround sound speakers in an all-Klipsch home theater, or install them in pairs for stereo listening with your multi-room audio system. Either way, you'll experience accurate Klipsch sound without the clutter of conventional speakers.
The R-2502-W II pairs a 1" silk dome tweeter with two 5-1/4" woofers. The tweeter is set within a shallow conical horn for accurate in-room frequency response with low distortion. The horn's uniform sound dispersion delivers highs consistently throughout the room, whether you mount the speaker vertically or horizontally. And the dual woofers offer punchy bass and mid frequencies for realistic movie dialog and music.
Slimmer chance of being seen
The R-2502-W II keeps a low profile with its SlimTrim™ grille. The visible frame size is reduced by 90% and grille depth is reduced by 80% over previous designs, for a nearly flush finish that blends in beautifully. The paintable, aluminum, magnetic grille attaches securely with ease to virtually eliminate resonant distortion.
An optional in-wall bracket is recommended for installing the R-2502-W II in new construction.
Great speakers...set up for a surround sound system..paired them with Definitive Tech 5.5s as rear ....sounds great

High Efficiency: The high-efficiency design of the Klipsch in-wall speakers allows you to get much more output than most in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. Due to the long speaker wire runs that are common in whole-house audio systems, the power coming from the amplifier is significantly reduced by the time it reaches the speakers. The 91dB efficiency of this speaker means it will play much louder at low power than other less-efficient speakers.
Two-Way Design: The Klipsch R-2502-W II uses a high-quality 1" silk dome compression driver (tweeter) mated to a conical horn, combined with dual 5.25" polypropylene woofers in a 2-way design. The speaker's precision voiced crossover networks further ensure that the high and low frequencies are faithfully reproduced.
- Tweeter: A 1" silk dome tweeter mated to a pivoting conical horn generates pinpoint imaging and flat in-room frequency response. Klipsch horn-loaded technology increases acoustic output while significantly reducing distortion. The horn's 90° x 90° dispersion pattern allows the speaker to maintain the same high-frequency directivity whether the speaker is mounted vertically or horizontally (as a center). More direct sounds reach the main listening area with fewer reflections for more detailed sound, wider dynamics and better vocal clarity
- Dual Woofers: The R-2502-W II employs dual 5.25" polypropylene woofer cones for authoritative bass.
ABS Basket/Frame: The R-2502-W II has a sturdy ABS basket and frame. The frame can be painted to match any decor.
SlimTrim Magnetic Grille: With an all new grille, the visible frame size is reduced by 90% and grille depth is reduced by 80% over the previous design, for a more edge-to-edge consistent look that blends in with the wall more attractively. The new aluminum, paintable, magnetic grille attaches tightly and securely with ease to virtually eliminate resonant distortion.
Spring-Post Terminals: The Klipsch R-2502-W II in-wall speaker features two spring post terminals which will accept bare speaker wire (up to 12-AWG), pin-connectors or banana plugs (single/dual). The spring-post speaker terminals are color-coded (red/black) for easy identification between positive and negative.
Power Specifications Note: The manufacturer has specified the maximum power handling of this speaker as 60 watts RMS (240 W Peak). Klipsch has also published a recommended amplifier power specification as 110 watts.
Dual Orientation: This in-wall speaker consistently delivers realistic sound whether it's installed vertically as a left or right channel speaker, or horizontally as a center channel speaker.
New Or Pre-Existing Installation: The speaker can be installed in new or existing construction. It requires a cutout of 6.5" (w) x 16.4375" (h), with a mounting depth of 3.25". For new construction, purchase of the IK-502-W installation kit (714IK502W) is highly recommended. For existing construction, the speaker should be installed in drywall at least 3/8" thick. A cardboard template is included to assist you in making the cutout.
IR Knockout: A 1/2" diameter knockout panel is provided in the lower left hand corner of the speaker frame for installing an IR sensor.

Why did you buy this?
my husband picked it out . i dont know anything about it except it was the smallest speaker he could find. [ julie Mar 16, 2017 ]
Klipsch speakers sound better than any others I've heard. [ JOHN Aug 31, 2016 ]
2 questions already asked
I have 5 of these set up in my living room paired with avr x2000 and they are great! As far as a problem with a moisture barrier from what I've researched they are completely fine around insulation. On one wall I have insulation directly against the back to help soundproof the wall behind it. No worries great sound and go big on sub to complete surround sound. Talk to klipsch rep if u have concerns along with Crutchfield. Hope that helps! [ GREGORY P Aug 25, 2015 ]
No need. The wiring inputs are close to the base of the speakers and the magnet depth prevents them from touching insulation. [ Will Aug 25, 2015 ]
this is a great speaker for center channel. I actually bought 5 and used them for front right, left and center as well as rear right and left [ Kerry Nov 29, 2014 ]
I used it for my rear channel. The Klipsch system that I put together, including these speakers, is outstanding. I would think this would work fine as a center speaker as well. [ HAROLD Nov 29, 2014 ]
I think it works good for center channel but please keep in mind this is my personal preference [ G. BRIAN Nov 28, 2014 ]
Definitely suitable for center channel use considering the tweeter is isolated and not adjustable. Aesthetically I purchased 3 - center fr left/right [ Will Nov 28, 2014 ]
I originally ordered the r-3650 w2 and returned all 5 for 5202's. The Klipsch rep talked me into it. I have five of these speakers in wall with 10' ceilings and they rock. I denon avr x2000 receiver along with klipsch sw 112 sub. From what I gathered these tweeters being soft dome put out more of a realistic sound for movies and tv watching where the horn tweeters are more in your face. Great for movies and music and not so much for tv like sports etc. I plan on putting the first pair I ordered in a theater room if my wife lets me build one??. You won't be disappointed with those speakers I mean 10 lil 5 1/4" subs plus your main subwoofer!! Good luck Greg 35 yr old. [ GREGORY P Nov 28, 2014 ]
I did not use this speaker as a center because when turned on its side for vertical placement it is bigger then the space between two studs. I have two of these speakers as my left and right. I used the Infinity ERS HV250. It is sized to be put between studs vertically. [ Christian Nov 28, 2014 ]
I bought 3 for the front. L,R and Center, it makes a great center channel. [ JAMES Nov 28, 2014 ]
