Looking for speakers that deliver the kind of impact and clarity that make you feel like you're right there in the movie or on the stage with your favorite musical artist? Check out the RF-62 II from Klipsch®. This floor-standing tower speaker offers dynamic, full-bodied sound that makes it ideal for larger rooms. Building on Klipsch's previous Reference speaker line, the Series II models have updated drivers and a new crossover system for even more spacious sound. Pick up a pair for stereo music, or use them as your front left and right speakers in a home theater setup.
All Reference Series II speakers feature a redesigned version of Klipsch's famous horn-loaded tweeter. Because high-frequency sounds are more directional than bass frequencies, it's especially important to target them right toward your ears. Klipsch places their titanium tweeter inside a flared opening, known as a "horn," which disperses the highs evenly across your listening area in a 90°-wide, 60°-high pattern. With their Series II speakers, Klipsch has redesigned the shape and slope of their famous horn enclosure, so your movie soundtracks and music will sound more "open," with improved dynamics and efficiency. All in all, you can count on powerful, "front row" sound that's crystal-clear at all volume levels.
The RF-62 II uses newly machined, light-yet-rigid Cerametallic woofers with a folded edge to produce smoother mids and tighter bass. The specially treated aluminum in the cones helps to dampen unwanted vibrations and reduce distortion, while integrated dustcaps add stability. The RF-62 II also has dual five-way binding posts, giving you the option to bi-amp or bi-wire this speaker for even better performance. And the rigid, braced cabinet comes in a handsome woodgrain vinyl finish.

Average Customer Review(s):
Very happy with this speaker the sound is excellent. I have Bose, infinity as well klipsch RF 62 ll seriously blows the other two away no comparison. Crisp clean nice. Don't think you will disappointed if your thinking about getting these And the sale price at crutchfield made this purchase amazing.
This was my 1st purchase of a Klipsch product I was extremely pleased with the fast shipping good value And Awesome sound
Pros: Crisp clear sounds Nice quality looks
Cons: Can't think of any right now
I have to give these speakers a 5-start rating. I've been listing to King Crimson, Moody Blues, Paul McCartney and many of my other favorite vinyl albums, and I'm hearing instruments and vocals that I never heard using my previous speakers. The sound is both lush and crisp, which is an amazing combination. My Klipsch speakers are powered by a Marantz PM7005 integrated amplifier, which I also love. I'd also give 5-stars to Crutchfield, as I got expert advice and quick delivery...had the speakers in a few days. Also, Crutchfield had a phenomenal sale on the speakers which saved me a lot...way to go, Crutchfield! Anyway, I highly recommend these speakers!!
Pros: Sound that is both lush and crisp...how the heck do they do that? Also very good looking, classy design. And I like how the grills attach to the unit with magnets. Very cool. Finally, very happy with the sale price on the speakers...paid a lot less than the normal full price. This was very sweet.
Cons: None that I can see at this point! Consider me ecstatic!
It's been a couple weeks since I received these speakers. I am still going through the break-in process. The speakers look very nice, but most importantly they sound great. So far so good!! :) At this point, it is a 5 start rating.
Pros: Great sound and clarity.
Cons: None so far.
Just hooked up sounds great, Great work from Crutchfield.
Pros: Looks great, sound great, Sold Klipsch, many years ago,
I have wanted a set of Klipsch speakers since listening to my brothers in DC 40 plus years ago. I finally made the leap, after listening to my younger brothers much more expensive ML speakers while vacationing in Florida. I actually bought them on line before we left. Excellent choice. Every bit as clear as the ML's at a much more affordable price. I listen to everything from Rage against the Machine to Miles Davis and they enhance the sounds on both these disparate genres. Don't wait 40 years like I did!
Pros: Crisp, clear range
I bought these off Crutchfield about a year ago and have them hooked up to my Sony STRDH550 5.2 Channel receiver as outside left and right and they sound awesome. Living in a college household they have been known to be turned all the way up to the point the receiver just turns off. Up until that point they still hold their sound almost perfectly with no rattling and only slight distortion from the tweeters. The only con is that at low volume they have low bass. Now I have klipsch hersey's as well which makes them mostly used for the mid and high ranges which they work fantastic for.
Pros: Awesome sound no matter how loud with any genre of music.
Cons: Not much bass at low volume.
Just set up my new music system with the pair of Klipsch Reference RF-62 II speakers I bought on sale here along with a Klipsch R-10SW sub powered by a Sony STR-DH550 receiver. These speakers are FANTASTIC! I can't believe what great sounds I'm hearing from a moderately priced system.
Pros: Look great in my living room Great sound quality Easy un-boxing & install
I bought these for a vacation home. I have B&W 803S and wanted something to give me a similar experience and sound but at a much lower price. I wanted something primarily for listening to music, especially classical. I was not disappointed and was very impressed with the sound! They have excellent clarity and depth of sound with a good frequency response. I get the high and lows of the frequency spectrum delivered with great soundstage. I also purchased the matching center speaker for surround sound and TV. These speakers with my two smaller back speakers deliver a very rewarding listening experience. I am using my older Onkyo TX-NR905 receiver to power these. They can be bi-amped but I am not doing these because of the higher Onkyo power rating. For the price point you will not be disappointed.
I purchased the Rd-62 to replace my Sony-ssf7000, and I must say I made an excellent decision, the sound drives a cross the room and the sheer look of the speakers add a certain touch of elegance to my living room. I can't stress enough how crisp and clean the sound that this speakers emit is, totally recommend them, specially if they are on sale.
Pros: Terrific sound, easy set up and amazing clean sound
Cons: I was not fully aware that biwiring wires were necessary.
I purchased the RF 62's to replace a pair of RF 52's in a small living room. Not because I was in any way unhappy with the 52's (they're wonderful speakers) but because I wanted to move them to my den. I went with the 62's because they were on sale and I felt they would provide a bit more bass for movie watching. I only use the two speakers and they do indeed provide an extra punch for movies. They are primarily, however, used for music and they perform superbly. The clarity, separation and sound stage are outstanding and I don't think a better speaker can be had for the money. Get them on sale while they're still available. I promise you'll be glad that you did.
Pros: great for two channel listening...for the money they're untouchable
After reading reviews and product description the Klipsch RF 62II are exactly what I expected. Clear, open, wide soundstage, solid bass and high sensitivity. No distortion at high listening levels with my 40 watt NAD receiver! Musical with all recordings but excels with rock due to the front row sound. Solid, quality and attractive construction from a well respected AMERICAN company!
Pros: Good value at retail price and a steal on sale from Crutchfield!! Highly recommended!!!
I love Klipsch, thanks to my new Klipsch RF 62 II speakers my set is complete. I have Klipsch center, SubWoofer, and four RF 61 II speakers. I got the RF 62 II thinking I needed the RF 82 speakers. I am so glad I got the RF 62 because they provide more then I need. The sound and power is mind blowing. Klipsch speakers are so clear. You hear everything so clear the highs, the lows, mids everything . I love the sound of them even at be ry low volume levels you hear everything , and if you want to they will blast and still provide a very clean sound. I'm so thankful for a well insulated home or these things could cause me to have some very upset neighbors. They sound great with TV, movies, and my Jazz has never sounded like this I hate to turn it off. The RF 62 II are everything they are built to be plus more. OUTSTANDING totally outstanding.
Pros: The great sound
These RF-62 II replaced my antique floor standing S0nys. Even though my old speakers still had some bark left in em, I was absolutely amazed that going from two 12" woofers over to four 6" woofers made such a difference! Sound reproduction technology has come a LOOONG way. KLIPSCH has taken that tech even farther with these speakers. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I do enjoy my music cranked loud on occasion. At moderate listening levels, these ROCK! Bass is surprising, with a crisp upper end. With my Denon amp I can get em to break up a bit if I really push for that unnecessarily loud sound, but that's not where anyone typically listens anyway. I have a KLIPSCH 12" sub which for listening to TV surround at normal volume levels in MY room size is turned down to its lowest setting. Thump and rumble is perfect through the RF-6s. Definitely not over bearing by certainly defined! I like that. KLIPSCH CDT-5800s are complementing the surround. I'm really happy with this combination. Well done KLIPSCH!!!
Pros: The footprint is exactly what I needed for my particular size listening area. Nice bottom end without having to massage my receiver to create it. Set ur crossover freq and ur good to go.
Cons: Not aware of any at this point, but don't expect that to change.
Great upgrade from a set of small bookshelf speakers. I miss the bass from my old subwoofer I had to get rid of, but the bass out of these towers are no disappointment. For mostly music and occasional tv and movies, the bass will easily give your neighbors something to complain about. I would buy these again without question and probably will buy another set in this family in the future.
Pros: The highs are very clear, plenty of bass without a sub, they look amazing with the grills off.
Cons: Sometimes the highs are a little too bright, at some point you'll wish you had a subwoofer (but do you really expect to get subwoofer-level bass without a sub?).
Guys, these speakers are mind bending nice plain and simple you cant get a nicer speakers at this price now where guys i checked 5 STARS...
Pros: They rock all music in a new clarity i never knew before they look good too...
Wonderful speakers- especially for the money! I loved the first pair so much, I bought a second pair!
Pros: Powerful, clear and attractive!
Always wanted a set of Klipsch speakers. Just got these in and hooked up. Replaced a set of JBL Northridge E60's that sounded great thru a Yamaha R-S500 receiver. Have Rush playing now with the RF-62's and there is no comparison. It is like having twice as much power out of my Yamaha. The bass and crisp highs are "AMAZING" Great speakers.
Pros: Buy Them! Great Price!
Love everything about this brand. I'm sure if you buy you will feel the same.
Great speakers. I am hearing new music in everything I listen to. Fun!!!!!
Pros: Great highs. Easy to put together. Makes music come alive again.
Cons: Perhaps a bit shy on bass, ok for me however.
Speakers arrived as promised in excellent condition. Easy set up. As a complete novice audiophile I relied on the advice of the sales person in selecting these speakers. They are everything he said they would be- nice base, crisp clear higher tones and very little distortion at very high volume. These replaced some classic bose bookshelf speakers which sounded pretty good. The improvement is substantial even to my untrained ear. Great look, sound and value. Outstanding customer service.
Pros: Excellent speakers for the price
Cons: I will now need to upgrade my receiver to realize the full potential of the speakers
I've used these for about 45-52hrs so far. 2-channel only. I listen to metal, nordic orchestral metal, reggae, reggaeton, late 80s-2005ish rap/hiphop, and trap. Played with a short length rca to 3.5 from an IPAD 3 or custom pc on a soundblaster zx. 320 kbps .mp3 files vs .flac vs CD are definitely discernible. I have not watched any movies with these yet. I am 29 and would not consider myself an audiophile. Living room is 20x30 with tile. The house is solid block with no crawlspace. The speakers are 1.5 ft away from the wall due to rear ports and not on the included spikes for carpet. These exceeded my expectations. 35hz out of a 6.5 woofer was hard for me to believe until you get these. They were tinny during break in, but the clarity and bass increased drastically later on. Powered by a yamaha rs201, bridges removed and dual wired 6 ft runs with 14g oxygen less copper. Much better quality than the versions sold in the box stores. Magnetic covers are great!
Pros: Price and Quality of the speaker build. They look great even naked! Crutchfield Shipping! Huge improvement over previous generations that I have experienced. Wife likes them a lot. I blame her for a quick break in with her trap collection lol. She had to do the instagram with them(women). These speakers are in the piss off your neighbors crowd especially for the apartment/condo, zero lot line cookie cutter neighborhoods.
Cons: Have to re-listen to the collection. None at this time. I probably should get a higher end standalone, stereo amplifier in the long run. People complaining about lack of bass must need a new amp or room layout. Or you are a giant basshead like the bass zombies in cars. I was into car audio 10 years ago!
I am using these speakers with a Sony HAP-Z1ES hi-rez audio player and TA-A1ES amplifier. These have really brought about a new appreciation for my music collection. As corny as it sounds I am able to pick out things that my previous setup just simply didn't allow. The train passing by during the intro to Bowie's "Station To Station" has never sounded so realistic. The guitar during the chorus of the Beatles' "Wait" leapt out of the speaker. The depth of Waylon Jennings voice has never hit so hard. These have far surpassed my expectations.
Pros: Crisp, clear sound. Display nicely when the grill is removed.
Cons: A little weak on the bass side
These speakers are replacing some 35 year-old Advents that finally dried up and blew out while playing ZZ Top. They deliver smooth bass and I am hearing lyrics in the midrange that I never knew before.
Pros: Excellent clarity and power.
Cons: Virtually none. They are big, but that's what I was looking for when I ordered them.
Just got a pair of these speakers maybe 2 weeks ago and have been watching blu-rays and listening to music on them for a few hours every day. They sound amazing in my opinion. I was a little afraid of what I was reading online about Klipsch speakers, being that they are "too bright", but honestly I don't agree with this notion. I just think they sound really good. Doesn't fatigue my ear in the slightest, and this is often time after listening to a full album (40-50 minutes at a pretty decent volume). The bass on these is very impressive as well I might add, as they are able to reach incredibly low notes. I have these without a subwoofer at the moment (I will be getting a Klipsch 12" soon!) and they still make watching blu ray action movies super enjoyable. I almost find myself wanting to keep rewinding parts to hear them over because of the wow factor on these speakers. As far as the build quality, nothing more needs to be said other than they are masterfully put together. Most solid speaker housing I've ever felt to be honest. They look sexy and they make me smile ever time I put them on. I really do love these speakers. Buy a pair and see for yourself!
Pros: Fantastic sound. Powerful. Insanely attractive design. Outstanding build quality.
Cons: none that I can see or hear
Pros: it's the sound !!!
As a lover of strong bass, I might have preferred the 82's, but these do produce most acceptable base along with crisp treble. Driving them with a new Onkyo TX 8050 and am very pleased with the overall sound. Very attractive in the environment.
Pros: very good bang for the buck
Cons: maybe could have a tad more bass
Overall I'm very pleased with the RF-62 II. They haven't completely broken in yet, but every time I listen they open up more. I've always liked the sound of Klipsch, so I may be biased towards the sound a horn speaker makes, but I find these speakers to be very musical, even at low volumes. Push the volume, though, and they respond willingly. I'm pushing them with a Marantz SR6003 and it seems to be plenty of power. The only reason I haven't given a full 5 stars is because of my indecision between the 62 and 82. If I had to do it over, I would likely get the 82. I find i still prefer the sound, even music, with the support of a sub. I'm not a total bass-head, but I like to hear low the frequencies. While sharp, the 6.5" woofers in the 62 struggle to provide that umph that I desire on the low end. I'm not sure how the 82s compare. I do have to say that the 62s are very responsive, and paired with a sub sound fantastic. So if you don't mind running a sub with your music, these are a sure bet. Placement does matter, but the sound will fill a room.
Pros: Very musical, low distortion, precise sound
Cons: Fairly large box (even for a floor-stander), woofers probably can't stand w/o a sub.
After buying the RB-61 II for my computer I decided to to buy these to upgrade my AV system. I had a 'Energy classic 5.1' surround speaker system which was OK for movies, but I really wanted better sound for playing music. These Klipsch speakers had so much more body, clarity & presence than I had before. I also bought the Klipsch RC-52 II to replace my center channel speaker. Next up is to replace the rear speakers with some Klipsch Reference RS-41 II.
Pros: Great sound for listening to music.
Cons: Not a fan of the tower look, but I understand the design dose get the horn closer to ear level.
I ordered these as I was thinking the RF-42's I had ordered was not going to do the job. The speakers arrived but one had a broken Speaker grill and a blemish on the cabinet. These things happen.....not a big deal as Crutchfield has done a fantastic job of taking care of it. I have these hooked up to a Denon AVR-X2100 in a room that is 14x19 open concept with 12' ceilings. After calibration these sounded great! Much fuller than the 42's did. These speakers blended much better with the subwoofer than the 42's did. Audyssey actually set the crossover at 40hz and I was amazed how full they sounded. I used Pink Floyd and Carlos Santana as reference music. I also tried these speakers with the receiver set to Direct and Pure Direct sound settings and they actually sounded great! I will be getting the matching center channel very soon.
Pros: Build quality Full sound even with out a subwoofer Look great!
I added 2 of RF-62 along with a BIC F12 subwoofer with an Onkyo TX-NR636 for a simple 2.1 setup in a 10x12 hall in a small apartment. They seem perfect for my taste of listening. These speakers are so amazing to hear. I didnt have much issues with the "brightness" of the horn tweeters as I had set both my front speakers to -2db in my amp. Will probably add some surround speakers and a Klipsch RC-52 later to complete the 5.1 setup.
Shipping was on time and the speakers were in good shape. Easy hook up and the sound blew me away. These speakers sound excellent. The price was the next best thing. Thank you Crutchfield.
Pros: Sound for the size
While not a dyed in the wool audiophile, I do appreciate good sound. The bass these produce is tight and punchy, almost sounded as if i had left my sub woofer on. I actually had to check my sub to make sure it was off and it was. The clarity is great, the highs are crisp and clear, as other reviewers have said, you will most definitely hear things you hadn't heard before in movies. Vocals in music are very clear and the music is enveloping. I do not find these to be too bright at all. I am powering them a Sony STR-DN1050 AVR and they sound great. I am very pleased with them. At this price, I don't think you'll find a better speaker. If movies and rock are your primary material, then pull the trigger, you will not be disappointed. I would not use these in a small room or small apartment, the bass may be too much. I am also very pleased with Crutchfield, they shipped right on time and arrived on time with no issues. If you can afford these speakers, get them, you absolutely will be glad you did.
Pros: So far everything about them. Some have said they do not look pleasing to the eye, a bit mundane I guess. I find them to look very nice, they are big, not huge, but big and will need some room to fit, so make sure you have the room for them.
Cons: None so far.
Been searching for a new speaker for my new home. After months of researches, I lock down into Klipsch because of the reviews i read online. Recently I see theres price drop, I jumped onto it. Been using it for 2 weeks now, it's probably the best money speakers you can get on the market right now !
Pros: Great looking , awesome pricing, strong mid range , crystal clear sound, good bass
These are my very first pair of stereo speakers and they fill my moderately sized living room with full stereo sound. They have amazing bass presence so I didn't need to add a sub woofer! Thank you to crutchfield for guiding me to these speakers!
Pros: Amazing sound! Beautiful pieces of furniture!
I was in the market for a good quality 2-channel audio system which would fill a room with sound and bring all my favourite music to life - these speakers do that job really well! My listening range is very broad from pop through to Indie, rock, and a bit of classical. My previous speakers were a pair of B&W 600 series floorstanders which I had to sell due to an international relocation to the USA. It took me a few listens to get used to the Klipsch speakers after being used to the bigger sound I got from the B&W's. But I think the sound is crisper and more detailed. The Klipsch proprietary horn design works very well provided that you position yourself directly in front of the speakers. I paired these speakers with a Marantz PM6005 amplifier and matching CD6005 CD player and I haven't switched the system off since I took it out of the box. These speakers perform well above their price bracket and I am very happy with them.
Pros: Fantastic performer for the price and the Crutchfield team are great to deal with.
Cons: None at this price
After researching a pair of speakers to go with my new Yamaha R-S700 receiver, I decided to go with the Klipsch RF-62 II speakers. They are a perfect match to that receiver. I made my choice after reading every possible review from all of the available sources as well as feed back for other sites and reviewers. I made the right choice and love the quality sound over all ranges with them. Highly rated!
Pros: Perfect match for my R-S700 Yamaha receiver and they look fantastic! Sound quality is outstanding.
These are very nice..."fast" and so much detail that was missing...Iisten to primarily Baroque string concertos, Corelli, Locatelli, Geneniani, so beautiful and clear and dynamic, it goes right to your soul, I haven't listened for three hours in a row in a long time....a quantum leap over what I had, doesn't even sound like the same cd's. Some people have said they are large and can overpower a small room...I have them in a one bedroom apt living room, I don't think they are too big at all.I think they are just the right size...I am using them as two channel stereo with a tube amp and preamp with just superb, exquisite results. Thank You Crutchfield I am very happy with this purchase from you.
Pros: dynamics, balanced, detail, fast, bass, looks
I bought these towers to compliment the RC-52 center channel I bought several years ago. They are really nice speakers, and if you get them on sale, they are a great value. The highs are clear and articulate, but not harsh or brittle. Some say you either like Klipsch horn tweeters or you don't. I somewhat disagree with that as these are much smoother sounding than horn tweeters of 10-20 years ago. They are still not as soft or smooth as a silk dome tweeter, but they are definitely pleasant to listen to and I do not experience any fatigue while listening to them. Mids are very lush and full with just a hind of bass bleeding into them. The bass is warm and full, but somewhat muddy. It is perfect for movies and general music listening. It does not handle sustained deep bass hits well like you would find in rap or hip/hop music. I don't listen to much rap, but I did throw in some Lil Wayne to see how they handled it. They sound find with quick hits, but with hard, sustained synth bass, they distort badly at high volume. This is the only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars. Flip to rock music (which is much more my style), and they shine. I'm more into hard rock and metal, but there is nothing more musically beautiful than listening to a lossless recording of some old Santana, Fleetwood Mac, or Pink Floyd. The clarity, articulation, and soundstage put out by these speakers is nothing short of breathtaking; enveloping you in sound. Close your eyes and smile.
Pros: Clear, articulate, yet smooth highs Lush, warm mids Smooth, warm, full bass If you want them for a theater room or for listening to anything other than rap, you'll love them.
Cons: Lack of dynamic punch for really low sustained bass A little bit of bass bleeds into the low mids (I suspect using a larger sub combined with the current mid woofer would sound much better, but who asked me) The vinyl "wood" veneer looks really cheesy. Either use a real wood veneer, real wood, a leather or leatherette, or just skip it and paint them gloss black. This is really nit-picky, but the "feet" on the rear of the speakers should really be one bar that goes all the way across the spea
These are great speakers for the money. They sound good and are solid and attractive. I'm using with a subwoofer, so I can't speak for the bass. WIth my sub though, they handle the highs and mid tones perfectly with my sub. I used my Denon-auto-setup and tweaked the crossover levels. Now I have a wall of sound whether listening to pure stero music or with surround mode on. I'm happy about this purchase. I didn't give 5-stars only because I know there are bettter (more expensive) speakers available. For my small room though, this is more than enough and I am picky about my music and video.
Pros: Clear sound, attractive design
Cons: none yet
Great sounding speakers out of the box. Very crisp highs and good bass, good looking cabinets. I ordered these Monday morning and they were on my doorstep in less than 24 hours! Highly recommend Crutchfield.
Amazing sound - could not see or hear reason for scratch and dent classification and discount - they took a collection of reward cards, gift card and credit card as payment
Pros: price - convenience - sound
Klipsch sounds great
Pros: Cherry is beautiful and the sound is moving
This was my first set of speakers that wasn't one of those home theater in a box sets. So I am no expert by any means, but I left my old $300 sony system hooked up so I could compare the sound, and I can't believe what I was missing. My old speakers just seem so muffled and dead compared to these. Also, I bought these Open box and they are perfect looking, and both sound great.
Pros: Awesome sound!
Cons: The tweeters do bother my ears a bit and they are quite large.
These speakers sound good,The cabinets are cheap,Chinese quality for sure are only one year the black ash vinyl is coming off and Klipsch is giving me a hard time about repairing or replacing the speaker or cabinet. This is the second pair this same thing has happened.8 years ago i bought a pair of RB 81 bookshelf speakers and the same problem.
Pros: Good Sound
Cons: Cheap Materials.
Very crisp design. Love the bi-amp connections, they pack a great punch. Beautiful with grills on or off.
It's hard to believe the cherry finish is cheaper. It looks very warm and realistic. But you want to know about the sound. While they do require a break in period to bring out full depth (they are bright out of the box), once they are broken in the deliver phenomenal sound. Particularly with vocals, these speakers are relaxed and won't wear you out for hours of listening enjoyment. The high efficiency design ensures that any amp pushing 8ohms can handle these speakers with ease. I am very fond of the transparency of the sound. The cabinets and the grilles don't impart any noticeable character to the sound source. Although, the copper cones are so beautiful with the cherry cabinets you may leave the covers off permanently. I was originally blown away by a demo set of the RF52 II speakers but after finding this deal, I figured why not go a little bigger, a decision I do not regret. I am quite impressed by these, coming from some less musical yet decent JBL speakers, and they have made the perfect match to my Rega turntable and Yamaha two channel receiver. I do suggest dual wiring them if your tuner supports it.
Pros: Looks, sound, craftsmanship, stability
Cons: A little on the heavy side but not much of a con. Requires some break in time to truly sound expressive.
These speakers perform just as I expected and had read about , they are a perfect fit in my Klipsh home theater system and I got the heavy punch and power that I was looking for without being to huge or expensive.
Pros: Perfect size for a tower speaker with awesome music sound quality and high performance, movies sound much better as well.
Was a little concerned I was getting too much speaker, but I have been blown away by how GOOD these sound. So glad I steeped up to the 62s.
These speakers sound incredible. I believe they are the best value. The discount for the cherry color makes it even better. They look great by the way.
Pros: Amazing sound, Easy to install, nice warranty,
These speakers sound awesome. I am no audiophile, but I know quality when I hear it!
Pros: Well built American made product. They look and sound fantastic. The copper cones look amazing with the grill cover off.
Excellent speaker lots of full sound and bass will fill a room with sound easily without using alot of wattage sounds like being there
Pros: Excellent sound have not broken in yet plenty of bass when needed highly recommended
Nice speakers, beautiful cabinets and very excellent sound quality. They play very sharp clean sound at any volume and take little power to drive compared to my old speakers. I did however like the powered sub-woofers in the Polk towers I previously owned although at 15 years old with one blown it was time for a change. I'm thrilled with these Klipsch RF-62's and with the loudness button on my 85W RMS Onkyo receiver I still get a decent base response.
Pros: Clear crisp sound at any listening level, beautiful cabinet and reasonable price for a speaker at this level.
Cons: None regarding the speaker but I do miss powered sub-woofer thump!
Love these speakers. They do sound a little "bright" out of the box, but everything I read says they need to be broken in for a little while before they give a nice "warm" sound. I have them paired with a Pioneer SC-1223-K which I've also read will contribute to that endeavor. They are very solid and well-built, and look beautiful with grill or without. The grill is magnetic for easy removal and restoration. Very happy with purchase.
Pros: Construction, Crystal-clear sound, looks, Klipsch brand.
First, Crutchfield service is outstanding. Now for the speakers, they exceeded my expectations in looks, build and sound. The cherry finish looks much better in person and much better than the black. The speakers are heavier and more solid than I was expecting. The sound is great. Large, deep sound stage, the "front row" sound is just that. The sound stage is projected out into the room creating a great sense of depth. Imagine is terrific as well, especially for the price. Detail is of course excellent. I was a little worried that the horns would be harsh for music, but my worries were unfounded. The mids and highs are very good and spectacular respectively. Certainly no complaints. Biggest surprise is the amount of bass. These towers surprised me in the amount and depth of the bass. It's tight and controlled. I noticed no booming or muddiness. A very nice speaker. 5 stars for the price.
Pros: Detail in the highs, efficiency and bass
I wasn't expecting the beautiful sound recreation from these speakers. What a wonderful addition to our surround sound. An exceptional enhancement to our music listening experience.
Pros: Love the high range clarity. Warm and comforting mid and high range. Low range superb.
Very full sound. Have used primarily for watching movies for the moment. Sound nice even at lower volumes. Slowly replacing an onkyo home theatre in a box system I have. These loudspeakers are definitely a great start. Have no doubt enhanced my movie watching experience. If you're on the fence, just do it and thank me later.
Pros: -Great sound at lower volumes -Nice highs -Just enough bass without sounding too boomy -Take up less room than I thought they would -Solid construction with good weight
Cons: Double check to make sure you've got enough space. Not so much width but the speakers are pretty long right around 15 inches long.
These replaced my very old ADS speakers and are paired up with a Pioneer Elite VXS-84TXS receiver. They sound wonderfull. I was looking at their Icon Dual 8 speakers and decided to go with these instead because of the reviews I read hear.
Pros: Look good and sound great
This is a beautiful speaker! Things appear in proper proportion! Highs are crisp, mids full and warm, and bottom end expansive!
Pros: Affordable excellence
Cons: Damage to carton on shipping cause slight nick in cabinet veneer.
I originally bought the bookshelf version RF-62 II's. I loved them so much. Then when I saw the Tower's were discounted I didn't hesitate and immediately bought them as well. Now with the towers in front and the bookshelves as surround I am in 7th heaven (this set up is in my bedroom). I don't have space for a subwoofer, but I don't need them. I moved my turntable to this set up so I can play all the classical and jazz vinyls I have while reclining in my sleep number. It is sound, sound all around and when I close my eyes I feel like I am lying down in the middle of the stage.
Pros: Deep, rich and smooth sound reproduction all up and down the frequencies. No need to mess with the spectrum analyzer it is so balanced. It doesn't matter what volume the sound is being played at.
Extremely clear sound, highs are crisp cans clear and the bass is incredible. This price is amazingly low for the quality of speaker your purchasing . Klipsch RF62II speakers are made right here in the USA and they are an outstanding product.
Pros: These speakers sound great! They create a great theater experience! They look fantastic! The price can't be beat!
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Bought these for a summer home to use as front stereo speakers .fit and finish very nice, fast shipping. Sound is ok pushing them with a 80 per. Onkyo tx-8050.. This two way speaker needs somthing to help them, other then a good sub.
Pros: fit and finish very nice.
Cons: new RF 11 horn missing something in detailed sound.
These are incredible speakers. I am a drummer who enjoys playing to music and I need to have some volume behind me and these definitely put out the volume. They have a great bottom end (bass) and the highs are clean and crisp. You can hear every little detail of a song. I couldn't have been more impressed with a speaker.
Pros: Great bass and great high's and nice, loud volume that is clean. Nice looking speakers (all black).
Cons: Screws to install feet have a phillip's head and the screw head can strip out when attempting to tighten. I have preferred a torque's or square head screw.
I ordered two of these speakers and they arrived in perfect shape, within 3 days, and they sound incredible! I only wish my listening room was the size of a concert hall so I could fully enjoy their gorgeous sound. While they are fantastic easy listening speakers, these dudes were made for volume. Crank up your Led Zeppelin and rip off the knob! Fantastic!
Cons: Not much bass available at the lower volumes
I am proud to display such a work of art in my home and the sound is like no other speaker, it is clean, crisp and clear. I would recommend this to anyone.
Pros: All the good things one could say.
Cons: None at all.
WOW!!!!! These speakers are simply amazing. Crutchfield's service was outstanding. WOW!!!!
I must agree with the folks who wrote the other reviews. Also, as with their bookshelf models, Klipsch speakers are crisp, clear and love to be cranked up. I upgraded to these towers and not only did the sound level go up, the bass picked up dramatically. I no longer need to upgrade my two sub woofers. These speakers are well worth every penny.
I purchased five of these (along with the equivalent center channel model) for a new home theater installation, and I could not be more pleased with their performance. From their crystal clear highs to their organ pedal-tone lows, these speakers deliver very refined, uncolored sound at any volume - along with excellent imaging characteristics. I consider these speakers to be a very good value.
I upgraded my old JBLs. These sound awesome. Great bass and highs. Also got the Klipsch center and surrounds. You really feel the movies now. If you have the room these are the way to go.

Overview: The Klipsch Reference Series RF-62 II floor-standing loudspeaker delivers high-performance sound using Klipsch's advanced technologies and world-class materials. The Klipsch Reference RF-62 II employs dual 6.5-inch woofers and a 1.0-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver loaded with a square Tractrix Horn, inside a bass reflex enclosure. The Klipsch Reference Series floor-standing loudspeaker will bring out the power, detail, and emotion in your music, movies, or video games.
Highly-Efficient Design: The Klipsch RF-62 II utilizes a highly efficient design to produce more output using less power & energy for louder sound with less distortion. The RF-62 II is able to fill large rooms with outstanding, accurate, non-fatiguing sound that you can listen to for hours.
Tractrix Horn Tweeter: The Klipsch RF-62 II features a professional-grade 1.0-inch titanium-diaphragm compression driver inside a square Tractrix Horn for smoother high-end response with greater extension, enhanced imaging, and more powerful dynamics. The Tractrix Horn delivers a 90-degree wide by 60-degree high dispersion pattern for a broader sound-stage. Behind the horn lies a 1.0-inch titanium tweeter with a linear travel suspension for open, natural, sound.
Dual Woofers: The dual 6.5-inch woofers of the RF-62 II feature Klipsch's distinctive, copper-colored Cerametallic cones. Made with an anodized aluminum, these cones are strong and dent resistant. The anodizing process converts their inner and outer surfaces to ceramic. The outcome is a rigid cone with superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the woofer's operating range. The 6.5-inch woofers also employ a rubber surround for added durability.
Crossover Network: For signal purity and perfect driver integration, the crossover on the RF-62 II features the finest components and Klipsch custom internal wiring.
Bass Reflex Enclosure: The dual 6.5-inch Cerametallic cone woofers and 1.0" titanium diaphragm compression driver are mounted in a Bass reflex enclosure which features dual rear-firing ports. The RF-62 II's rigid cabinet offers improved internal cross-bracing to minimize panel vibrations that can color sound and dual rear-firing ports to eliminate turbulence noise. A black metallic finished baffle around the horn mouth and dual woofers dramatically improve acoustics across the sonic range. The bass reflex enclosure features a MDF cabinet finished with either a Black Ash or Cherry wood-grain vinyl.
Magnetic Grille: The floor-standing loudspeaker features a removable magnetic grille which easily snaps into place over its cast-aluminum front baffle. The speaker can be used with or without its grille in place.
Dual Binding Posts: The speaker has two sets of binding posts connected by jumpers. Using the dual binding posts, you can bi-amp or bi-wire the speakers. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, spade-connectors, and bare wire.
Feet: The RF-62 II feature two integrated front-feet and two stabilizer rear-feet with rubber bottoms so you can safely place the speaker on your tile or hardwood floors. The Reference RF-62 II also comes supplied with a set of carpet spikes so you can place the speaker comfortably on your carpet. The supplied carpet spikes add approximately 1.0-inch to the height of the speaker. The carpet spikes screw in directly to the bottom of the floor-standing speaker's feet.
Placement: The Reference Series floor-standing loudspeaker is designed to perform well in a wide variety of locations but you will get the most out of the speaker by following these simple guidelines.

The width of the speakers is 81/2 inches. I think you can still use the bottom pads without the extender. [ TRENT Mar 29, 2015 ]
The width minus the rear feet is the same size as the cabinet. The base is self contained in it's own footprint. I wouldn't trap these in a corner because I bi-wire them and don't use a sub so mine have to breathe for the bass to sound good. If you are using these in a home theater setup you may be able to stuff them into a recess and let a subwoofer do that work. As for the alternate feet for the back, I think you may be able to bolt the feet straight in rather than use the extensions. You get spikes or rubber feet in the box. [ chris Mar 24, 2015 ]
Speakers are 8.50" width. Mine are in a house, on carpet. The feet in back make them much more stable. If the speakers are in a place where they will not tip over easily, then I would just leave the feet off. [ Dan Mar 24, 2015 ]
8-1/2 inches, the feet supplied with the speaker can be mounted on the underside of the speaker without the extension. [ TERRY K Mar 23, 2015 ]
I had the same problem. Just turn them so they face backwards, they can be mounted that way. Screw them down tight and your good to go, that's how mine are mounted in the narrow space between the TV stand and the tower. Hope that answers your question. [ KEVIN W Mar 23, 2015 ]
8 1/2 inches [ SCOTT JOSEPH Mar 23, 2015 ]
The tale of the tape on my speakers is 8 & 1/2" wide by 15 & 3/8" deep by 40&1/8" tall. The front feet sit under the cabinet and I think the rear feet could be mounted so that they swivel under the cabinet as well. [ DALE Mar 23, 2015 ]
thanks gonna try and listen to them some where and compare [ Dennis Dec 26, 2013 ]
If you're running a good sub with them, then not that much difference. The RF62s will have more mid bass output at high volumes due to the extra driver. If you're not running a sub then there will be quite a bit of difference. The RF62s have a substantial amount of bass. [ GENE A Dec 26, 2013 ]
Sorry. No idea. I'm old school so probably got them for the size, but I have the room for them and I really like the sound and so do others... [ MARK Dec 26, 2013 ]
I believe you will get a more full sound out of floorstanding speakers as opposed to bookshelf speakers. What I would recommend is buying the floor speakers and using the RB-61's as surrounds. Then again, from my understanding, unless you are a serious audiophile, you may not notice much of a difference. It really is all about preference. Audition them in store when you can, and in home if at all possible. [ DAMON Dec 26, 2013 ]
Dennis, The RF- 62's have two 61/2 woofers opposed to the one 61/2 woofer of the 61's. I have the tower speakers in front and the bookshelf speakers for the rear. The towers have a fuller sound , but complement each other very well. Hope this helps. [ CYNTHIA R Dec 26, 2013 ]
thanks. it seems from the reviews for the rb61s are not the d same as mine. that the rb61 in my setup are just missing something. I am 69 and hearing is not as good as it used to be . maybe that is the problem [ Dennis Dec 26, 2013 ]
Since they're of the same line, I wouldn't say they are superior. However, with the RF-62 II will be capable of a lower bass extension, providing a more potent sound. In all other regards, the speakers will be quite similar. [ MARK Dec 26, 2013 ]
