Great speaker for the size. Great sound, clarity, and fit/finish. I would recommend!

Pros: Fantastic sound out of a relatively small speaker. Fit and finish is great and has bi-amping capability if you want a bit more from them.

You WILL NOT be disappointed. These speakers more than enough highs, lows and mid ranges that you could ever expect from a bookshelf speaker. Klipsch does it yet again.

It is capable of being a great sounding music listening speaker if you power it with high quality amplification. First and foremost, these speakers are nowhere near as efficient as Klipsch states as they add about 4dB from their in-room measurements versus in an anechoic chamber as every other speaker manufacturer rates their speakers at. With that being said, they are not as naturally loud as they are said to be. I was expecting blaring, over bearing loud noise. What they offer is very peaceful, smooth, non-glaring, easy to listen sound. Now, let's talk about the listed bass response of 45Hz at -3dB. I have an Integra AV receiver with 100WPC RMS continuous on all five channels driven with the ability to bi-amplify the front speakers by reassigning the from high speakers for 200WPC RMS continuous to the speakers after removing the gold plated jumpers and running a second pair of speaker cables in the proper manner. The sound from the receiver, which is Onkyo's higher end brand, sounds like crap. It is lacking almost all bass, energy, push, drive, midrange is highly recessed and shrill, and the treble is very tinny as if an equalizer was set to +10dB at 16KHz. Now, let's get down to how to bring these speakers to life as I did using two different integrated amplifiers. I first tried a $4,399 Prima Luna Dialogue Integrated HP (High Power) with stock EL34 tubes; which are not known for mush or deep bass. This made the speakers come to life with fabulous sound in all aspe

Very pleased with these speakers. I was originally concerned that they are only 2-way speakers but the clarity is incredible. I listen to vocals and a lot of plain instrumentals. It is amazing how true these sound to the real thing.

Hefty sized bookshelf speakers that present nicely but offer great sound. Not the ear-piercing highs that I've heard in some cheaper Klipsch models, this new titanium tweeter puts out a lot detail without sounding harsh. Nice low-end on these speakers, but my subwoofers do the heavy lifting. The speakers were supposed to be delivered on a Monday but I got them late Friday night - perfect for the weekend! I'm extremely pleased with the sound and, of course, the customer service that Crutchfield provides. Now I'm waiting to get a 450c!

I purchased these when they were on sale. I have them setup for a 2ch (No Sub) listening station with CD and Turntable. I am more than happy with the turnout. I had a Bowers Bookshelf with this setup before, the Bowers did have more articulated highs but lacked in low end. A sub was needed to help balance the lows and highs. These Klipsch's balance perfect once you adjust the EQ to your taste. I like the fact...for a bookshelf speaker...they get down to 45hz. Which is more than enough low end to run on there own. Songs from Pink Floyd shine with crispness due to the horn loaded tweeter. This new Tratix horn system means I could spread the speakers farther apart and not lose that detail from center. The speakers are rated at 92db and I noticed they are very efficient with my Yamaha amp. You could even run these with a 20 watt amp and still be happy. All in all..for this price point, I would purchase again. Thanks Klipsch!

Speakers are highly efficient and don't require a lot of power to get a decent output level. Very clear on highs and mid-ranges. Very low distortion - even at hearing damage levels (grin)! For the lowest lows (sub 40s), you may want to add a subwoofer.

Even though I ended up returning these I would rate them 5 stars. They were a little too bright for my room and the equipment I used them with, but they have a number of virtues: Like other Klipsch speakers they are very efficient, meaning you don't need a powerful amp or receiver to get them to play loudly. They are very clear and go loud without strain. The imaging is pretty decent too. They work well with tubes because they don't need a lot of power and because their brightness balances with the darker sound of tubes, though I was using them with a NAD 326BEE which is solid state. The bass is pretty good for the size and price. I AB'd them against models from Focal, Monitor, and some others and thought they won. The fit and finish is excellent, too. But a lot of people find Klipsch speakers a little too sharp-edged in the treble so make sure this aspect of their performance suits your taste.

My family was looking to upgrade our home entertainment experience. We had a decent Pioneer receiver, Klipsch Quintet surround sound speakers and an Infinity 12" sub. Decided to replace the receiver with a Denon 2300 and upgrade the center and front channels to Klipsch RP-450C and RP-160M's. What a difference. While this unit is sizable, it is incredibly well voiced and thunderous when you put some watts to it. I cranked it up to 7 and put on the opening scenes of Interstellar. The room literally shook. The rumble from the aircraft was felt and heard and I just sat there with this stupid grin on my face. Music is no less impressive. I've heard new ( to me ) nuances from music that I've been listening to for years.

Pros: Voices are crystal clear from the most subtle to the loudest. Pulls nuances out of music that you didn't know existed Thunders when you push it.

We purchased a pair of these this week to use in our den after it is remodeled. As a temporary set-up, we connected them to a 50wpc mini-stereo amplifier we purchased online (including the power adapter). We set this up on our home office that has a cathedral ceiling and is about 14' x 14'. The speakers are set up on the floor about 1 foot from the back and side walls. The sound is nothing short of incredible. We cannot even imagine what they will sound like being played through our much more powerful amp that is in the den. We wish to thank Cosmo for his assistance in finding the right speakers for us.

After reading several reviews, I opted for the RP-160M to replace my 5.1 system's front speakers. The improvement in timbre and overall musicality is amazing! I've heard secondary parts buried in the multitrack mixes that I never knew were there. These are quality monitors that only lack the sub-40 Hz frequencies which is totally understandable for the compact size. I expect them to get even better as they break in.

I bought the RP-160M's as front speakers in a home theater 'build' in a new house where i knew I wouldn't have room for larger floor standing speakers. These are amazing speakers. they are loud, crisp and clear. I was replacing a Klipsch Quintet set and these speakers are in such a different league than the Quintets that I loved for many years. I would buy them again and again. Very pleased with the purchase.

I purchased these Klipsch RP-160Ms as rear effects speakers. The Mission 707S's I have up front are great speakers, but not nearly as efficient as the Klipsch. For movies and TV I believe the Klipsch will be a better choice. They don't have the power handling of the Missions so I'll have to be a little easier on the volume, as I'm using a Perraux 2150B on the front and a Hafler DH500 the rear. It did take a few days to break in the Klipsch. But they do sound good. Looks like I'll be contacting Crutchfield for another pair plus a new center speaker from Klipsch to match the extreme efficiency of the RP-160Ms. Overall, I'm happy with the new speakers ( except I'll be moving around a lot of gear from one end of the house to the other). I would recommend these to anyone with a taste for good sound but not a lot of bucks.

WOW! Amazing so much sound can come out of a speaker this small. If one didn't know better, you'd swear these were floor standing speakers. Not only do they sound great, they look great too. And I've only got about 12 hours on them, and I know they'll only get better once they're broke in. Klipsch has it going on, and has for many years, but these guys really sound right. Crutchfield's service is 2nd to no one too. Rock on!

I'm a long time Klipsch owner and the RP-160M bookshelf speakers did not disappoint. I've previously owned everything from the older Synergy line, up to the flagship RF-7s, and the RP-160M lives up to the Klipsch name. They are amazingly capable (dare I say powerful?) for their size, with precise highs and lows. The lows were actually better than I had expected, to the point that for much standard music listening, they don't even need a sub. Of course, a sub is always better...but you won't feel bad without one, if you need to stage your purchases and grab a sub later.

Cons: Not really a con, but due to the size, speaker stands need to be selected carefully. You'll want a stand with at LEAST an 8" x 8" platform, but deeper is recommended. Mine are 8" x 10" and it fits well, but I'd be happier with something a bit larger for extra stability.

Beautiful crisp, clear sound. Enough bass for a rear speaker that balances well with my subwoofers. I replaced older Klipsch speakers used for rear surround speakers. I'm slowly upgrading all of my system and this was a great start. Crutchfield made ordering simple and they were at my doorstep within 2 days! I couldn't be happier with the experience.

These speakers will change your life! They are not too brassy like some people say. The speakers are not forgiving as they will show week components in your audio set up. Don't pair them with a garbage amp; if you do then you're listening experience will suffer. I feel any negative review on the speakers is linked to the owner not using the proper equipment. I'm using a Yamaha RX-V471. This is not a luxurious powerful amp-receiver, but they sound really good and smooth with these speakers. Some say you need a sub woofer and some don't. I think that it's personal preference, but if you want the full spectrum of sound I recommend a sub woofer. I have mine paired up with a polk 12 inch sub and it feels in those deep low thunderous booms. I set my crossover at 60 Hz. The speakers are about 9 feet apart and I elevated them 1 foot as my couch set pretty low. Finally, price point. For the money I don't think you can beat what is being offered. There's a lot of technology in the speakers and they are by no means cheap sounding. Everybody has a personal opinion, but as someone that is been a music enthusiast for 30 years, I must say you can't beat these for the money.

The RP160M is an amazing compact speaker capable of extremely high output with no distortion. They are very efficient. A clean 60W per channel amp will make front row concert like sound levels with these. They sound a lot larger than they are. Their strengths are in the clean crisp highs and mid bass punch, with a nice low frequency presence. They push very high compression and are excellent movie track and rock speakers. They do well with classical music also and superbly reproduce string instruments. They are a little weak in vocal reproduction, but improve with use. If you want to EQ these, they will make almost any sound balance you want, but I run them with a direct signal. They do sound better when played loud, but are decent at low volumes also. If your main goal is to do critical listening at conversation levels, there are better choices for you, but if you demand huge performance from a small speaker, good luck finding anything that will top these, regardless of price point. When coupled with a small subwoofer, you get amazing full soundstage experience, even in a large room.

Cons: Vocal reproduction fidelity slightly low, but acceptable trade-off for amazing sound dynamics.

These are priced above some of the mainstream brands like Wharfedale and Fluance, and there are worth the money. Where the other brands drop off, these still have fuel left in the tank and almost never break up. Not only that, but they do well just about everywhere you put them. There is a gentle bass boost that is great for home theater and also bringing music to life. Sound damping on the boxes is great for the price range and combined with the tratrix horn and titanium tweeter, the imaging is clear and forward. Although the frequency response is not perfectly flat it does provide for a boost in sound stage and instrument placement. Bass extension is impressive and plays strong to 40 Hz. These will run on almost any amp, although better equipment will always yeild better results. If they are in your price range it's a no-brainer. For 2.0 music or 2.1 music, you'd be hard pressed to find anything better until you get to $1000.

I have had Klipsch Forte speakers for over 30 years as the main front speakers, and needed to match these older ones with rear speakers for a new 5.1 system. I had some older Infinity speakers that I thought we pretty good as rear speakers. But when I hooked these new Klipsch RP-160M up my whole world changed !! These not only matched perfectly with Klipsch's from 30 years ago, but added a huge, bright theatre dimension to my living room. There is an obvious "blended" sound the Klipsch engineers figured out a long time ago, but these 160's are a perfect match to their classics! Thank you Klipsch for a long tradition of fabulous speakers !

I've owned Klipsch speakers since the 80's with a pair of Heresys as my mains when 2 channel receivers were state of the art. I just purchased a pair of their RP-160's for my main front and finished my set up with Klipsch R-14's for the rear, an RC-62 II center channel and a 12" Klipsch sub to finish it off. An amazing system for the coin....no one does it better for the price. Of course, it certainly helps to have the very best customer service in a retailer far above the rest....thank you Crutchfield, you guys do it better than anyone!!!

Major update for my home theater system. The 160's replaced Paradigm Phantoms and the change was dramatic upon first listen. Since these are new, I expect that the sound will continue to improve as time goes on. I played the Earth, Wind, Fire & Chicago concert at the Greek Theater. The music and vocals were great, tight, and accurate.

A couple of years ago, I set up my 5.1 system with 4 Klipsch RB-51 II's and a RC-52 II center speaker. More than happy with the setup for theater, but lately I've wanted more for music (95% of my listening). I've found the RB-51 II's to be just a bit too bright, almost sharp at times. Not having the budget to replace all 5 speakers, I thought maybe the RP-160M's would be a good move for front L&R. Upon researching, I could find little written that compares the two models. Just a few words here & there. I took the dive anyway and I'm very glad I did. The RP-160M's addressed my needs precisely. The biggest improvement is in the high end. Smoother, silkier, more realistic highs with much less fatigue. Vocals take on more presence and the imaging is far more pinpoint than the RB's. They are incredibly detailed, but without that undesired sharpness. I find myself listening at higher volumes and for whole afternoons instead of just a couple of hours at a time. Flawless, solid build quality, too. While it's unfair to compare the low end on the two models (1" larger woofer on the RP's), I find the bass on the RP's to be smooth, substantial & not exaggerated at any frequency. For movies & 5.1 music, the RB's & RP's blend seamlessly, too. Bonus for me: I kept the original RB's, moved them to the sides and enjoy 7.1 sound on movies now. Bottom line: these are beautiful, accurate, efficient speakers, especially for the price.

A very good value and good sound for most genres of music. I added a Svs Sb1000 subwoofer to my set-up and paired with a Marantz Pm 7005 integrated amp. After the one month break in period they now sound very nice. They do tend to be on the bright side so listen before you buy. The bass was good without the sub woofer but my room is 25by30 so the sub filled out the room better.

Great bookshelf speaker. Very well balanced sound. Excellent bass for a bookshelf speaker. I've seen other reviews that commented about a sometimes "harsh" high end. Personally, I don't hear any high end harshness. The overall sound is clear and crisp from the highs all the way down to the lows. I have no complaints. I would buy them again or recommend them to a friend. They are a bit larger than a lot of the bookshelf speakers out there so if the space where you plan on putting them is limited, make sure you measure the space.

The speakers are quite good, and definitely worth the money. Crisp sound, and they'll definitely blast. Oddly though, horns, which were touted as being especially good on these speakers, sounded better to me on my 34-year-old Avid (defunct brand) speakers, while bass, which Crutchfield to its credit cautioned to be not so great without a subwoofer to go with these speakers, sounded better than on the old ones. But who knows, I'm no aficionado and know nada. Check 'em out.

These are insanely great speakers. Capable of great volume at no distortion, they were built, as Klipsch says, to irritate the neighbors. But they deliver beautifully not only rock, but everything else, classical, blues, you name it. As well as stand in powerfully as your fronts speakers for a powerful 5.1 or higher surround set-up. I have 3 sets of these speakers. One set in the office on a small tube amp with a DacMagic DAC. The others are in my main he theater system. Give them a generous offset from the wall, approximately two feet, and the bass response improves. When running the YPAO on my recover, the speakers were recognized as large, which may give a sense of their capabilities. I am a long time Klispch fan so I may have bias in the favor. I think the horns are an improvement compared to the older Reference line (RF). The speakers can be effectively utilized as main speakers or surrounds depending on your room and system size.

Pros: Bass response Crisp, Clean and clear highs I like the included bases that provide a slight upward tilt of the speakers. You may remove them if you like. High efficiency typical of Klipsch in general.

Bought two pairs to use in a Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 setup in a multipurpose room and am very happy with them. They're taking a little longer than expected to break in, but they keep sounding better and better every time they're used. Surprised how much bass they produce on their own.

I was a bit worried about the size of these initially. I had gone to my local electronics store and the speakers they had were all much smaller. But once I received them I was pleasantly surprised. They feel like the perfect size! Not too small to where you feel like you are compromising on actual driver size and also not so huge to where you feel like it will take over your room. The sound itself is excellent. I am using them as the front speakers in a home theater setup.

Very happy with my Yamaha receiver and Klipsch speakers. Great sound quality, easy to set up and operate. One thing though- to use Spotify you have to buy the service. Other than that, great. I love all the choices of inputs: net radio, pandora, laptop, cd player etc. speakers are amazing. Wish they would ship them in a plain box. Tempting for thieves to steal off your front porch! Cons: Packaging on speakers too obvious Have to spend money every month for Spotify (but I am glad I did)

The speakers look great. Build quality fit and finish is also great. The sound is really super clear at low volume or high. I watch a lot of movies Voice quality is perfect the speakers give you all the background effects that you often do not hear on other speakers.They will not disappoint. I am very pleased with the sales man from Crutchfield telling me about the speakers.

These speakers are a little bit larger than what I would call "bookshelf" speakers, but if you have a large wall with built-in shelves, these would look great. Since Klipsch has put what appears to be low, built-in stands on them, I have mine sitting on the floor beside the small 48" wide, 25" tall cabinet that holds my components and center channel speaker.....the 46" TV is mounted on the brick wall above the cabinet. The sound is incredible....they replaced a set of 1992 Klipsch KG 3's....and are a real improvement.

Pros: Great sound and a size....the black wood grain is beautiful and the magnetic grill is more convenient that what was used in the past.

These are not small speakers. I actually expected them to be smaller (and was afraid they would be too small), but they have a nice, substantial dimension and feel to them. They are not nearly as large physically as they sound and they sound huge! They have such a large sound field they just seem to fill the room, which is nice because they sound great in any number of seating positions in the room. And paired with the RP-450C center, what in incredible LCR system this is. I use these with a 75" TV and Klipsch's large surround speakers and huge sub. What a system. Even when running music just two channel these cabinets produce bass that is unexpectedly low and musical. I honestly had to go over to see if the sub was on, and it wasn't. Fantastic sound and simple yet elegant visually. Really love these speakers. I went back and forth between these and the floor standing models. I really needed these up off the floor so they sit on the same shelf as the TV. They sound and look simply wonderful. I am so happy I went with these.

Pros: Huge sound field, surprisingly good low frequency extension, substantial physical dimension and superbly built.

These speakers are a great purchase for a small speaker they put out a lot of sound I highly recommend them!!

First: There is about a 20 -30 hour break-in period for these speakers. They don't sound as good right out of the box until they are broken in. They can play at life size volume unlike many small speakers. The bass is stronger than the high treble which lacks a little body and brilliance. They have a small problem with clarity when reproducing complex sounds (which many speakers of different price ranges do). These are best used in smaller rooms, and if budget permits, coupled with a pair of speakers with great high treble performance. Missing: Being able to use banana plugs on speaker wire connections. These are fine purchases for auxiliary systems.

Cons: Lack of sharpness and body in high treble. Stone age speaker wire connectors.

We bought these to be able to listen to music from MP3 files, an MP3 DAC, streaming, CDs, and even out old LP's. Out musical taste run from classical music through unaccompanied vocal, through jazz. All I can say is that the sound is everything we hoped for. Sure, there may be 'better' speakers out there, but these were absolutely right for us at the sound level we use (with our sensitive hearing). The sound is clear and the instrumental/vocal blends are excellent. Out listening space is sub optimal, but that doesn't matter so much. There is not much room for speakers, so floor standing were not an option. These speakers are just the right size. We also use the speakers for our DVD, BluRay, and streaming video viewing. While not the immersive sound many people like, these are a massive improvement over the TV speakers and the speakers we had before. Movie dialogue is much clearer.

I've finally added surround to my system and I love it. I have these speakers on the ground in preparation for my rear height speakers and dolby atmos. I'm building my system one step at a time and this was a nice step.

I have only had these a couple of weeks,but as with my other Klipsch speakers they sound great. Klipsch and Jamo,highly recommend.

Pros: Now i have all Klipsch speakers...sound is great...good bass,excellent highs...they play all types of music with clarity.

Treble forward bookcase speaker with adequate bass does the job for small to medium partial home theater and music

Cons: Would be better with subwoofer but not absolutely needed. Really cleans up dialogue from video.
