From Klipsch: Reference Premiere Speakers
When it comes to big-time home theater thrills, a lot is riding on your center channel speaker. It carries the lion's share of vocals and dialogue, as well as the music and sound effects found on most movie and TV soundtracks. Klipsch's RP-450C is more than up to the challenge. This powerful center channel speaker from Klipsch's latest Reference Premiere Series puts you right in the front row for exciting cinematic sound. The RP-450C features four 5-1/4" woofers for plenty of bass and midrange punch, plus Klipsch's signature 1" horn tweeter for outstanding intelligibility and sparkling clear highs.
Never one to rest on its laurels, Klipsch has been busy refining and improving its designs to create loudspeakers that blow the doors off of its loyal followers' expectations. The new Reference Premiere Series builds on the acoustics and technologies of Klipsch's classic Reference Series, with important enhancements that provide an even more intense listening experience.
With its Hybrid Tractrix horn and Cerametallic woofers, the RP-450C center channel speaker is built to effortlessly deliver clear, powerful Klipsch sound.
Horn technology is one of Klipsch's long-standing hallmarks. Flared openings in the speaker cabinet project sound waves toward your listening area and prevent them from simply spilling out in all directions. This design reduces reflections that can color the sound, and boosts dynamics and efficiency for powerful sound that remains crystal-clear at all volume levels.
Klipsch's newly designed Hybrid Tractrix® horn features a circular throat around an advanced titanium diaphragm tweeter that transitions into a square 90º x 90º mouth. This unique shape provides a cleaner, more efficient transition of sound waves into your listening space. Compared to previous Klipsch models, this horn design delivers a wider sweet spot with more precise placement of instruments and vocals. Even the horn material itself has been upgraded to molded silicone rubber that helps decrease resonance for smoother, warmer highs.
The RP-450C's Tractrix horn shaped port eliminates air turbulence for reduced noise and distortion.
Look around the back, and you'll see that instead of the conventional round port tube found on many speakers, Klipsch uses a Tractrix horn-shaped opening for smoother, more efficient airflow in and out of the cabinet. The resulting decrease in air turbulence makes for cleaner, more powerful bass with reduced port noise and low-frequency distortion.
The RP-450C's Cerametallic™ woofers dish out smooth midrange and articulate, well-defined bass. Klipsch makes its cones out of specially treated aluminum that's strong yet lightweight, to dampen and prevent distortion. With the Reference Premiere Series, Klipsch also gave these woofers newly developed titanium voice coil formers that allow more linear movement for enhanced efficiency, lower distortion, and extended low frequency response.
Team an RP-450C center channel speaker with other Klipsch Reference Premiere Series speakers to create a high-impact home theater system.

Excellent center speaker, clarity and sound is amazing
Pros: Clarity and build quality is amazing, excellent sounding center speaker
good quality, great sound,it pairs with RP 280 FA for a atmo system.
Excellent speaker. The RP-450C is an amazing speaker. Right out of the box I could hear sounds on movies II'd never heard before with my other center speaker. Truly amazing.
Pros: Sound clarity Good punch Most nuanced speaker I've heard
Cons: none yet
As I have discovered since entering the world of home theater sound systems, the center speaker is all important . I had been using a B&W CM Centre 2 speaker that was actually the same price as this Klipsch 450C, but I was disappointed with its clarity in voice. As many of us of a certain age have discovered, dialogue can be hard comprehend on a home system. This Klipsch center speaker is much clearer, crisper and brighter which improves both dialogue and music (to my taste). The only drawbacks with this speaker are its size (it's pretty wide), and the angle of dispersion for the tweeter is fairly narrow. If you are off center, the high frequencies degrade rapidly so it is important to place it as close to your seated ear height as possible.
Pros: Sounds great! Very good value.
Cons: Limited angle of tweeter dispersion. Wide speaker
This is one nice center channel speaker!
I thought this speaker would be a significant improvement over my smaller Advent center channel and it has exceeded all of my expectations. I'm moderately hearing impaired due to years of loud music and operating heavy equipment so dialogue is hard for me understand at normal listening volumes. The Klipsch delivers clear and crisp highs and bass and midrange that is tight and clean which allows me to understand the dialogue at a much lower volume level, which makes my wife love them as well. This is a large well built speaker, but if you have the room for it, you will be impressed. Thank you Crutchfield for making the entire process from decision to delivery easy
Pros: Awesome sound with great clarity
Made a great improvement over my old C-1 Synergy and matches well with my Klipsch Forte II front speakers.
Pros: Great sound and very efficient.
Cons: Is a little large for a wall mounted application, but would work great in a entertainment center or as a base for pedestal mounted screen
Very fast delivery! The feeling of knowing crutchfield is a very reputable company makes purchasing large items feel much safer! This center channel speaker blew my mind in how much of a improvement it made to my system. Absolutely love it!
This thing is awesome. I started with the 250c, tried the 440c, and then decided to try to the 450c. This thing is so clear and crisp I swear I am hearing things that I've never heard before in watching movies and shows. The bulk of my system is used for tv, movies and sports. That means the center speaker is the most important one. If you are on the fence between this and the 440c, definitely go for the 450c. Just make sure that you have enough room. This speaker is massive, but definitely worth it.
Pros: Clarity Solid build No distortion
Crisp Clean Sound. This speaker replaced an older Klipsch center channel and this one delivers! Bright sound and really handles the bass well. Whether you are listening to music or watching movies, this speaker does what you need it to do. Fantastic! I am beyond impressed. Best center channel I have ever owned.
Pros: Clarity. Great build quality.
Great sound that fills the room. Great compliment for my RP280 standup speakers. Thanks again Crutchfield for a great suggestion to fill out my system.
My family was looking to upgrade our home entertainment experience. We had a decent Pioneer receiver, Klipsch Quintet surround sound speakers and an Infinity 12" sub. Decided to replace the receiver with a Denon 2300 and upgrade the center and front channels to Klipsch RP-450C and RP-160M's. What a difference. While this unit is sizable, it is incredibly well voiced and thunderous when you put some watts to it. I cranked it up to 7 and put on the opening scenes of Interstellar. The room literally shook. The rumble from the aircraft was felt and heard and I just sat there with this stupid grin on my face. Music is no less impressive. I've heard new ( to me ) nuances from music that I've been listening to for years.
Pros: Voices are crystal clear from the most subtle to the loudest. Pulls nuances out of music that you didn't know existed Thunders when you push it.
This center speaker is truly a MONSTER........in size and function!! Never knew I was missing so much information before I hooked this up in my system. Most difficult part is trying to fit this speaker in, or on, a TV stand, on a speaker stand and lose the ability to open any doors, or to use it as a platform for your TV, depending on the size of your screen. But the sheer capability of the speaker itself.......WOW. Yes, I'm very impressed and very happy with this purchase. And Crutchfield went over and beyond assisting me in exchanging a cherry colored model for a black model. Crutchfield customer service is second to none....period!!!
Cons: Size and weight. May not fit in your system. Double check the dims.
A new listening experience has been created! Clear and crisp dialogue nearly overwhelm you when watching a movie, the soundstage simply sings when you crank up the tunes. Love it!
Wow...I've had many center speakers over the years and now I realize that none of them were the right tool for the job. This thing is massive and sounds uncolored. Voices are natural and full range. My AVR identified this as full-range. Compromise somewhere else if you are building a system because the center really is the most important...that and a sub. Matched with Klipsch RP-260F mains, R-115SW sub and Focal & Celestion rears. It makes a perfect tv stand and I would have no fear using it under an old Trinitron!
The Klipsch Reference Premeire RO-450C is phenomenal. I am older and having performed in large music ensembles my adult life I have lost some hearing. I wanted a center channel speaker that did not make me want to buy headphones! This speaker is so clear that I was sold after 2 seconds! The lightest whisper is so audible and clean. This is a superb speaker.
Pros: While putting 105 watts per channel this speaker was clear to the ear and absolutely no distortion. This speaker is better than going to the theater. I'm blown away!
Wow! I picked this monster up a few weeks ago and I'm just blown away. I've thrown everything I can think of at this speaker and it loves every minute of it. It screams when you want it to and whispers when it needs to. It's big. I mean really big! Frankly, it's just imposing to look at. All that size translates into equally big sound. If you love big sound, this is the center channel speaker for you.
Pros: Clarity and detail. Big bass. Looks fantastic!
The customer reviews on this center channel & your Crutchfield tec rated this center channel high. I was extremely happy with the purchase. It made a big difference in a brighter, louder sound than my older klipsch center speaker.
Pros: Crisp, bright sound, love the magnetic front cover.
I ordered this center speaker on a Wednesday morning and it was at my door by Friday afternoon. Great and speedy service. Now for the best part- THIS SPEAKER IS PHENOMENAL!!! I set it up and watched Transformers and Optimus Prime's voice was deep with bass and clear. Wow!!! I got the cherry finish because that's the finish of my other Klipsch speakers. It's beautiful just to look at. Thanks Crutchfield for such great service. Order this speaker!!! You will not regret it.
Pros: deep rich soundstage across front good looks easy hookup
Amazing center channel. I have it as part of a 5.1.2 system using both as a home theater and listening to music. The dialogue is very clear and bright, which I like. I found that the first week I had the speaker, there was also a "harsh" quality to the sound, but that went away after the break in period. I am very happy with this speaker and have paired it with RP-280 FA.
Pros: Very clear, bright dialogue.
Cons: A little harsh the first week -- but that went away after the break in period.
Best center channel speaker! Little pricey but well worth the money. Clear, crisp, dialogue. Bass and clarity are outstanding. This speaker along with the Klipsch RP-280FA Dolby atmos speakers are fantastic. I will buy the Klipsch RP-250S surrounds next to complete my Klipsch home theater.
Very impressive sound and voice projection . Gives more depth, bass and added clarity to vocals. I'm new to Klipsch. This is my first and only Klipsch speaker. It is quite impressive. Replaces a Polk CS-10 center speaker. Substantial size and price difference, but worth it. Works well with my unusual set-up of Golden Ear Triton Three's as front speakers and AR3a's as surrounds. Watch size and weight (31 inches wide and 35 lbs). Looks beautiful with cherry wood.
Pros: Cleaner speech with more depth. Beautiful look in cherry.
Cons: Watch the size and weight. make sure you have the room and support.
Long time fan oh Klipsch and this center does not disappoint. Replaces an older RC-3 that has performed well for 15+ years, still works just wanted more volume. Tested out with several of my favorite blu-rays and noted better vocal performance and interestingly enough I found myself looking around for subtle background vocals and sound effects that seem to come from this center that I had not heard before, I can only assume the 5.25" drivers provide a better output for those particular sounds, or I am imagining it all. Bottom line great center, very enveloping sound.
Pros: Improvement from RC-3 Magnetic Grill is great
Cons: Big box, big speaker, Big Bang on porch when dropped off, luckily no damage.
This is by far the best center channel on the market,Klipsch's new horn technology in the RP line sounds phenomenal under any circumstance.I would give this 50 stars if i could, thank again Crutchfield for such a wonderful product!!
Pros: Sound is unbelievable Build quality is top notch
Klipsch is all good stuff. I wasnt planning on going for this model but it perfectly fit into my entertainment center shelf so I had to go for it. The sound is so much louder and detailed with this center. I have Klipsch speakers all the way around, with Klipsch Heresy II's in the front and a 12" Klipsch reference sub. It goes much louder than my wife will allow so I haven't really even tried to push it. So far very impressed with the clarity and detail now that we have a serious center channel to drive. Don't bother going for the next smaller model if you have the space, you won't be disappointed.
Pros: All around a great speaker. Looks sweet in the entertainment center.
Cons: A little large, but how else do you pack so much into a cabinet?
Amazing center channel!!! Extremely clear and the definition to the sound field is mind blowing. One of the best upgrades I could have done to my almost complete Klipsch setup. Nice build beautiful clean look especially with the grill off.
Pros: Whats not to love!!!
Cons: A little expensive but worth it!
This thing is a beast. Everything I expected and more. Sounds great weather it's music or movies. Pairs well with the rf7II's
Pros: Big enough to sit my tv on. Good clean highs.
Adding the center channel really makes the mix come alive, dialog is very clear. Sound quality is top notch, would recommend.
Pros: Excellent product/quality
I purchased the Klipsch RP-450C to match my recently purchased nearly new RP-260Fs. The towers and center fill out the front three channels of my HT. They replaced my Polk Monitor 60 towers and CS1 that I had used for 10 years. The 450C looks beautiful and sounds even better. It is surprisingly heavy and large. Be sure you have adequate space. I wish I could rotate it vertically to better isolate the center from the left and right. Acoustically transparent screen in my future? The first thing to note is the clarity of audio. It reproduces audio with no hint of distortion, color, or muddiness. I was not convinced I needed as large a woofer in a center. After hearing this gem of a speaker in my HT I am a believer. The titanium tweeter is a real treat and like the towers, produces a crystal clear high with zero distortion. All of this without being painful to the ear. I did build a custom center channel speaker stand as my original setup was not wide enough to properly support this large cabinet. Be sure to build some angle into the stand to aim the tweeter towards ear level. I will comment that the speaker grille is well made and I love their magnetic attachment. I am very happy with this speaker and would highly recommend this as an addition to a Klipsch based HT. If you are debating between the 440C and this unit... Just get the 450C! You will not be disappointed I will add that I saved a few bucks buying from Scratch & Dent - still c
Pros: Fantastic sound quality Excellent build quality Magnetic grille Overall finish
I had used many center channel speakers in the past. I have 7-1 setup in the basement 20 (W)* 25 (L) with two massive front tower speakers, powered by a fine 4K receiver. However, always I found the center channel was missing something, specifically there were gaps in the sound distribution, esp between the center and the towers. I got this massive and beautiful RP-450C Cherry yesterday. It was very easy to set up. once plugged in, the audio was clear, able to handle highs and lows effortlessly, and the sound coming from it, permeated the whole room, giving a full surround wrap that I had never heard so far with any other center channel speaker. My family and friends were thrilled with the new experience that was not there before. In sum, for the money and the value that I got, sharing my personal experience, there is nothing to hesitate, its worth every dollar, no matter where you buy it from. With this speaker, you can be sure of getting Cinema Theater experience at home!
Pros: Too many to list
Cons: Its big, need to plan the space for this beauty..
I tried the RP440C center but decided to go with this one because the whole reason I was upgrading my old Infinity system was to get the dialogue stronger in the mix. The 440C was rally very good, but naturally the 4 - 5 inch speakers are fuller and more present still. It is a big unit, but I have room in my med/small home theater (13.5' x 19.5' w 10' screen). It sounds great with my RP250F fronts, RP250S surrounds, and 2-R110SW subwoofers.
Purchased product as "Scratch & Dent" - product arrived in excellent condition! The hook up to my Denon AVR-4200W receiver was easy. Installed speaker under my 65" TV, looks great. This speaker sounds great. I can hear all of the special effects and nuances within movie sound tracks, and speaker enhances the soud stage of my music like you wouldn't believe. Really pleased with this purchase! Hoping to match it up with some Klipsch RP-280s to complete my system.
Pros: Sounds great, looks good. Good bass and midrange reproduction!
Cons: Not a con, but it's a big speaker, deep, make sure you have the room under your TV.
Impressed with the sound of this center channel. I have never though dialogue could sound so clear even with music...
Pros: Cleanliness of sound, easy installation, superb manufacturing quality
Super clean sound and look, why go to the movies, bring them to your own home. I couldn't be happier with this center!
Bought this center channel after exchanging it from a smaller Klipsch . Both were open box items , both (flawless) ,could not be happier with both but wanted more so I got this one and it is great it is crystal clear and does exactly what I need it to do, rock!!! So to sum it up I would definitely buy it again. Worth the money.
Amazing product! Worth every penny. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone looking for a high end quality center channel!
Just received my RP 450C, well no fault of Crutchfield again. It took 7 days to get to me, but since I followed it. I noticed UPS received it in 2 days near me. Sept.2, 9:50 pm then delivered it to me at 9 pm sept. 6th. It wasn't a big deal to me. Anyway just hooked it up but only as a 12awg. not like my towers which are 9awg. Set up the Ypao to adjust correct sound. First thing obviously after 5.5 mths listening to movies in stereo but adjusted by my reciever Yamaha RX-A 3050 . It sounds very clear for voices nicely. Again having Klipsch speakers for so long I know everytime I buy one I don't ever worry about there sound. The box it came in was protected, but that speaker caught me off guard in size. Wow, before I ordered I pulled out a measuring tape to see . Lol I didn't image it was that big... The sale price is why I went with the 450C first I was thinking 440c. Great price made me pull the trigger.
Pros: It's Klipsch of course. Price Sound Construction Those awesome copper colored woofers. Black ext. Looks good design wise.
Cons: Big heavy
Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-450C one of the best purchase I've made to date one the best thing is I can hear all the voices in a movie while airplane and car are buzz by! Plus I can listen to music at a very low level and get all the quality you expect in a concert! I've have use it in a large room and in a small room and they sound great. I have a pair of Klipsch R-28F floorstanding speakers and a pair of klipsch 160m and together they go far be on all my expectation.
Pros: Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-450C are the best center speaker out there for the price!
I have had center channel speakers before, but could never hear them, this is way better.
This is my first time using Klipsch. Bought this to use in a Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 setup in a multipurpose room. It's paired up with Klipsch RP-160M. It's taking a little longer than expected to break in, but it keeps sounding better and better every time. I originally had an RP-250C, which was fine, but I wanted a little more fill.
Pros: Love the magnetic speaker grill The ebony finish looks great Sounds fantastic
I have been a fan of Klipsch speakers for long time. Back in the 90's I had KG-4's and KG-2, before surround sound really took off...I've matched the RP-450 with RF-52 II's, RS-52's and R-12 SW. The sound is nothing but AMAZING! I iniitally connected before running Denon Audyssey, and sounded good. After running Audyssey boy did this center channel really perform! I watched the movie Prometheus and noticed things in the film coming from the center channel that I really never noticed! The clarity and detail from movies is outstanding! Keep in mind this center is fairly large and deep, will work well if you place TV on top of speaker and inside an AV cabinet, just make sure you do complete measurements, L, W, D, to ensure proper fit! My RP-450 is placed inside a center channel area of my AV Cabinet, Bell-O PR-33, [http://www.bello.com/pr33.php] had to slightly mod the inside, but it does fit very well and has excellent SOUND! Very happy with the purchase, highly recommend this to anyone looking for a higher-end, but yet value-priced center channel.
Pros: Superb clarity and sound quality!
Cons: A bit large and deep in size, may be difficult to fit into an AV cabinet.
After having the RP-450C for a few Months, This is an Awesome Center Speaker, Dialog is Very Clear!! This Replaced a Klipsch RC-3. The RP-450C is by Far Better than my old RC-3. Also have the RP-260F Towers for about 4 months now. At First didn't think they were any better than my 10 year old Klipsch Towers, In time (a Little Break-in) and running a System Enhancement Disc They really Shine Now. New Horn Design Sounds more Detailed & Smoother, Especially if Paired with good Separates. Originally Purchased the RP-440C, Not a Bad Center Channel - It's Just the RP-450C sounds more like a Speaker (Not a Sound Bar) if that makes sense. Kudos to Crutchfield for the Hassle Free Return and Exchange.
Pros: Clear and Full Sounding
Cons: Size might be an Issue to Some. If you have the Room You won't be Disappointed
This speaker really packs a punch (it doesn't take a lot to drive it). It is very articulate and good at representing sound. The horn combination with the 4 woofers allow an impact sense to drums while keeping a very realistic representation of a persons voice. This was a big improvement over my old Polk Audio CSi5.
Pros: Articulate, full sounding, clear and very appealing to the eye.
Cons: For some: the size. For me, nothing!
Excellent product. Great appearance and sound. Customer service provided great advise in guiding my purchase. Thank you.
This is an excellent center channel speaker. I had been looking for one that would look good as well as sound great. This speaker does both and it is a giant compared to all the other tiny center speakers out there. The sound is very rich and full. I would recommend that you have a very good powered amp to push this guy else you may be over driving your amp to get the very best out of this speaker. Thanks for Crutchfield and UPS it arrived in excellent shape and on-time.
Pros: Great Sound and excellent directional sound image.
Cons: Price but you get exactly what you paid for so.
I was advised that if you are going to invest in one thing for your home theater that you should not skimp on your center channel. So I didn't and chose this outstanding center channel speaker. I have to say that this speaker just makes movies come to life. Virtually all of the dialog comes from the center channel, and this pairs up with my 75" TV extremely well. I use the Klipsch RP-160M speakers for L and R with the RP-250S surrounds and the huge R-115SW sub (all connected to the Yamaha Aventage RX-A1050) and I have a system that has turned my 25' x 20' space into a state of the art theater experience. Huge dispersion on this speaker, you can hear it extremely well no matter what your seating position is in the room. Fantastic clarity and excellent focus on verbal dialog.
Pros: Wide sound dispersion, incredibly clarity and detail, can keep up with the largest TVs
Cons: None whatsoever.
This speaker is a great edition to my klipsch tower speakers. I had a klipsch reference series before and upgraded to this speaker and it is great for music and watching tv.
Pros: The Highs are crisp and clear and it provides great depth of sound.
Cons: None so far have had it about a week.
Awesome center channel speaker
This speaker has far exceeded my expectations!!!! Ready for the floor standing speakers!!!!!
Pros: Loud dialogue and super bass. Will not disappoint.
Cons: None. Can't think of one.
Research says your best speaker should be Center Channel. Research is RIGHT. Matched up with my power hungry Cerwin-Vega D4s, music is like front row concert! AV great too.
Pros: Copper Coated Cones look great when displayed. Overall an attractive speaker that sounds better than it looks.
Cons: Hmmm...maybe my loud music
Sounds amazing, crystal clear, plays as loud as I want it to without distortion.
Pros: Looks good, sounds better.
This center speaker is amazing! You can hear sounds that you never where hear to before. Very happy with my purchase and it looks great!
Pros: None, i like the fact you can remove the grill to show it off and leave the grill on.
Cons: Size make sure you get the specs on this speaker, so it will fit on your entertainment system.
Impressive sound, changed the way I hear movies.
Pros: Deep reach sound of voices.
Cons: Make sure you have space for it.
Speaker is very well made and looks great.
Pros: looks great...
I am very happy with this center channel. It's amazing what a different it makes; dialogue in movies is so much clearer than it was before. I only wish I had bought it sooner. Crutchfield service was amazing as usual.
Pros: Great sound Looks great Big enough that I can set my TV on top of it
Cons: Costs a lot by my standards, but I'm happy with the value for money
I replace my Bose 4 speaker center channel speaker with this one and I love it. The dialogue is so much cleaner it's as if I was missing something and I didn't now it, until I put this in as a center channel in my system.
Pros: Great vocal recreation, great looking
Cons: I wish I could have got it on sale
Bought this speaker to to go with my other klipsch front and rear speakers. I had a older Infinity center that sounded good but did not sound as good as my others klipsch . After install made a big deference on sound. Better highs and great lows. Speaker also looks awesome.
Pros: Sounds great lows awesome
I've been through a few different center channel speakers, neither my previous Infinity or Mirage could output a balanced range of vocals and effects. The Klipsch blends very nicely with my older Infinity SM155 & SM125 studio monitor main speakers.
Pros: -Solved my weak center channel output, movie dialog is loud and clear. -Easily handles 100+ watts of power without sounding stressed.
Cons: -Pricy -Styling is rather plain

90° x 90° Hybrid Tractrix Horns: A redesigned Tractrix Horn utilizes a circular horn throat paired to a square horn mouth to further improve high-frequency response and extension, while enhancing imaging and dynamics. The compressed molded rubber construction adds high frequency damping to reduce harshness and improve detail. This creates the cleanest, most natural sound possible. These 90° x 90° Hybrid Tractrix Horns provide a wider sweet spot while maintaining controlled directivity of the sound.
LTS Tweeters: Behind each Tractrix Horn lies a 1" titanium tweeter with a linear travel suspension for open, natural, sound. The Linear Travel Suspension minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performance.
Cerametallic Woofers: The four 5.25" woofers of the RP-450C center-channel loudspeaker feature Klipsch's distinctive, copper-colored Cerametallic material. Made with an anodized aluminum, this cone is strong and dent resistant. The anodizing process converts its inner and outer surfaces to ceramic. The outcome is a rigid cone with superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the woofer's operating range The 5.25" woofers also employ a rubber surround for added durability.
Crossover Network: The Klipsch RP-450C center-channel speaker's crossover network is constructed using extremely high-quality components including top-of-the-line internal wiring, polyester film-type capacitors and an air-core inductor to ensure signal purity and proper driver integration. The speaker's enhanced crossover frequencies (500/1500Hz) offer smoother on-axis and off-axis integration.
Bass Reflex MDF Enclosure: The Klipsch RP-450C employs a bass reflex enclosure with a rear-firing Tractrix port for greater efficiency and bigger bass response. Utilizing Tractrix geometry, the all new Reference Premiere bass port allows for the most efficient, fastest air transfer from the cabinet for a clean, powerful low frequency response. The ported enclosure features a MDF cabinet finished with a premium wood-grain polymer veneer (cherry) and a polymer front baffle. The speaker's rigid cabinet offers improved internal cross-bracing to minimize panel vibrations that can color sound.
Magnetic Grille: The center-channel loudspeaker features a removable magnetic low-diffraction grille which easily snaps into place over its polymer front baffle.
Binding Posts: The Klipsch Reference Premiere series RP-450C is equipped with sturdy binding posts to ensure a secure connection to many types of cable and connectors. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, spade-connectors, and bare wire.
Placement: The RP-450C should be centered directly above or below your video screen. If necessary, you can place the speaker on an optional floor stand in front of and below the screen that elevates it to the correct height. Ideally, however, the speaker's front baffle should be flush with the front of the screen.
Rubber Feet: The center channel speaker comes with four self-adhesive rubber feet to secure the speaker in place and prevent any damage to your stand's or shelf's surface. The rubber feet add approximately 0.125" to the height of each speaker.

Updating my old speaker system with a bigger, badder one from Klipsch, to include a new center channel ordered from Crutchfield, taking a chance on one of their "Scratch & Dent" models. Klipsch has always been system I've desired and decided I'd been on the fence for far too long. It was time to stop wishing for it and buy it. And with all the guarantees from Crutchfield, ordering from them is a true no brainer. Thanks Crutchfield!!! [ Jack L. Oct 15, 2017 ]

This speaker can "hold it's own" as a home theater center channel with just about ANY main speakers. I have it as part of a full Reference Premier 7.2.2 system with RP-280FAs as the mains and they blend beautifully. It is big and strong enough to set your TV on if you desire. No sonic difference between this speaker and the "CA" version - just the speaker cabinet finish. Highly recommended! [ JAMES D Jul 11, 2017 ]
It was on sale, and I wanted this particular model. [ Joel Jun 02, 2017 ]

Have had RC-3 center for several years and read glowing reviews for this center. Had wanted to go with the RC-64 ii, but at that price point I could get 2.5 RP-450C units. [ THOMAS Apr 24, 2017 ]

I've owned Klipsch speakers for many years and trust the quality. Also, I like the size of this center speaker as it is large enough to put my 55" TV on. [ Samuel Feb 29, 2016 ]

To go with my new 65" LG OLED TV. I have RF62 Klipsch speakers pairing with a R-25c center, but soon will be purchasing the RP260F as an upgrade and wanted a great center speaker so hopefully this will be a big jump in my home theater setup. [ Thomas Jan 10, 2016 ]
Based on great reviews-- I have Sonus Faber Amatis and though I thought of getting another Sonus Faber for the center channel, the Klipsch centers I have heard (and others' reviews) convinced me to by the Klipsch. [ Robin Jun 12, 2018 ]

I chose it based on the fact that I own Klipsch products and the reviews for it. [ Kelsey Apr 25, 2018 ]
I chose this because The center channel is the most important channel to me because I'm slightly hearing impared and sometimes it can be difficult to understand the dialogue. This is the most speaker I can fit into my available space. It will handle the power and has been consistently one of the highest rated speakers. Klipsch's performance coupled with Crutchfield's legendary advisors and customer service made this a no brainer! Thank you Crutchfield! [ David Feb 03, 2018 ]
To me center channel is the most important part of home theater audio. This high end model, on sale, and with outlet savings is a very good deal. [ James Maserejian Feb 02, 2018 ]

Rated as best center speaker available. Have had the old center speaker for 10+ years. Sound was fine in an apartment but in house with speaker further from couch was not very good. Looking forward to new sounding great speaker from you all. Thank you, Paul. [ Paul Dec 30, 2017 ]
I think it'd be fine. I've got a 54" OLED tv, probably 35 or 40 lbs, on top of mine. My feeling is that twice that wouldn't stress it at all. [ John Apr 12, 2017 ]
I have my LG 55" with abase sitting on top of my Klipsch. It's pushing nearly 60lbs. I haven't experienced any problems so far. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't support the weight. If you have. Facebook page, send me a friend request for some photos of my theater. [ Otis Apr 11, 2017 ]

The centerpiece speaker should have no problem with the 60" flat screen all pending on the style of your base. My footprint has the feet toward the ends of the tv so not an option for me. [ Victor Apr 10, 2017 ]
This Center Channel Speaker is pretty well built. Think 75 Pounds would be pushing it [ JULIUS Apr 10, 2017 ]
