    Klipsch delivers again!

Chris S. from Portland, Indiana on 7/5/2016

Klipsch has always been a great brand for musicality, but I never really thought of them for a soundbar. You always see mainstream electronics like LG, Vizio, Samsung, etc. Don't waste your time or money on them... Klipsch is worth any extra money. It sounds great at all volumes, and bass is quite good for a small-enclosure 10" sub. Bluetooth connectivity was a minus on this soundbar, but a quick trip to Amazon for a Belkin Bluetooth adapter with optical output made it work flawlessly. This set has gone away in favor of the Reference series, which has built-in Bluetooth. Let's put it this way.... My wife starts yelling about the volume and her pictures shaking on the walls long before the system ever sounds even slightly strained. Awesome!!!

Pros: Great sound Easy to integrate Blends in to decor Sub is modestly sized considering output

Cons: No Bluetooth connectivity This model has been discontinued That's it!

    Great sound bar

Greg C from oviedo, FL on 2/22/2016

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Sound bar is plug and play with Samsung TV. As others have said, big jumps with small increases on remote. I have found a way to at least minimize at lower volume. Push volume down while pointing remote at both TV and sound bar till zeroed. Then adjust only the TV. I performed, pointing remote 180 deg away from TV, and adjusting volume to about 11. Then, pointing remote at both, bringing up volume on TV and sound bar together. This way, you can control volume during quiet moments and kick it up when needed. The TV speakers fade into background and disappear. Good balance of low and higher volumes together using this method. The sub is great. Have it set just above the half way point.

Pros: Sounds really good with great bass output. Set-up in 5 minutes with Samsung TV. Adds so much depth.

Cons: As others have said, big jumps in volume, with small increases on remote. See review above for alternate method.

    Sound Bar

    Jim from Arizona on 12/13/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had a little trouble understanding the instructions to sync to direct tv but with a little help from tech support, I got it working fine.. The sound is great, I played around with the sub placement but have found the perfect spot. I agree with previous comments about how the volume range and or steps from one click to the next are pretty wide. It's something I can live with however. This system outperforms my sony 7.1 in ease of use and sound quality. This small system rocks and takes up very little space.

Pros: Takes up a lot less space than a full surround system. Sound is great.

Cons: Without Crutchfield tech support, I would've struggled a lot longer than I did to sync with my Direct tv remote.

    Decent but not that thrilled

    Charlie from California on 12/13/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice sound but not quite what I expected, leaves a little to be desired.

Pros: Easy setup, subwoofer sounds great.

Cons: No indication of volume level, and when raised to maximum volume is nowhere near what I would expect. Good sound, however.

    Good for the price (but...)

JoeBlow from US of A! on 12/10/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great for the price. Good volume ... in fact too much volume (read the "Cons"). Good sound. Pleased with purchase (but...). Still would recommended.

Pros: Looks great (simple & clean; aesthetically pleasing although soundbar itself is larger than others). Easy set up. Used my own Monster optic cable (less clutter, better performance/sound quality). Comes with its own (low quality) supplied optic cable. Easy programmable volume controls (used on TiVo remote). Wireless woofer a DEFINITE plus! Can be hung on a wall using supplied template or on a flat surface with adhesively added rubber feet.

Cons: Why I rate it 3 Stars: Volume control lacks "fidelity" ... I don't know how loud this thing will go but 2 "+" hits on the volume control is too loud and 3 hits is waaay too loud. Tried using the supplied (too small and easily misplaced) volume control with the same result (lacks fidelity). Would be nicer if volume changed at a more gradual rate (rather than a gargantuan, seemingly uncontrollable rate). Soundbar rather large side (deep); I've seen slimmer ones but may affect sound quality.

I have had my Klipsch bookshelf speakers for years and I am very happy with them. When I saw this great deal I went for it. Solid sound, great bass, highly recommend. Be sure to use the enclosed fiber optic cables for sound connection.

Pros: Clarity, easy installation, well established product, convenience of wireless woofer.

    Cons: Non

    Great Product for the Price

Scott Z. from Indiana on 12/8/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price, this is a great investment. It provides plenty of power and deep, powerful bass. Set-up is foolproof. However, I would not say it would be a value at twice the price. The wireless sub allows transmission from the bar without any cables. The only cable the sub needs is the power cord. So, less cable mess behind your furniture. The bar can either rest on something (with included rubber feet with sticky tape) or be mounted to a wall with 2 standard screws and anchors (if needed).

Pros: Easy set-up. Plenty of power. Looks nice.

Cons: The unit is unable to learn some user remote controls. Since purchasing this product, I have hooked it up to two different TV's. The unit learned the remote for the first TV no problem. The second TV, not so much. The TV is an Insignia purchased through another retailer. Something to keep in mind should you own this brand. The quality of the included digital optical cable is sub-par, as is the teeny, tiny remote. Bluetooth devices must be connected via a 3.5 mm cable. No EQ.

    Powerful System

Tom E from Bath, Maine on 12/4/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy to set up, powerful bass for movies. The optical input did not work, even though a signal was present. Not a big deal, as the supplied RCA cables worked well. Does not add a great deal of improvement for TV dialog

Pros: Powerful bass, easy to set up

Cons: Would be perfect if it had Bluetooth connectivity for devices. Bass and treble controls would also be nice

    Francis from Indiana on 12/2/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good sound quality. I like the 3D effect which creates nice depth. Missing mid to high frequencies diiferenciation (no EQ possibility, too much mids). The bass presence is very tight- that is good, although i expected more depth and power (rumbling) a lower volume. Overall good purchase for the price, easy to set up and pair.

    Pros: Price-quality ratio Brand Practicality

Cons: Bass rumbling at lower volume level

    Great Addition to Our TV

    JJJ353 from Connecticut on 12/1/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall, it does what we bought it to do - give a full deep sound stage to a 55" flat screen that came with speakers worthy of a small 1950s transistor radio. The volume range is now appropriate for the size of the screen image and will fill the room when we need it to. Getting used to actually having some bass in the TV sound took a bit of time, but overall it's very pleasing once I cut the subwoofer volume down a bit to keep it from overpowering the high notes. The good news is that if you Really need some low end punch, it's more available than I thought a system this size could produce. I hooked it up using the optical audio cable and turned it on. Before I could read the next paragraph in the startup instructions, the system was responding to both the TV and Cable remote controllers without any intervention on my part. The only other thing I had to do was tweak the TV's audio equalizer and disable the tin-foil speakers in the TV so they did not sour the sound field. It was fully operational in less than 5 minutes - a nice change from most of today's tech.

Pros: Good overall sound and plenty of distortion-free volume when you need it. Very fast install and setup.

Cons: The dinky remote has too narrow and/or too weak a beam of infrared signal to the sound bar. If you're not facing almost directly in front of the center of the bar, the signal is not received. The TV and Cable remotes work to control the sound from nearly any position in the room.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Was worried that the price indicated an inferior product. I was very surprised b y the quality of the sound. I'm certainly no audiophile... but have built home & car speakers in the past, so I have a decent ear for good sound. I think this matched up very well against any other sound bar product I was looking for. I looked at the Bose & the Sonos. The both sounded OK... but since they were trying to replicate surround sound with what amounts to a center channel speaker, I found the Bose to be particularly Echo-e. And the Sonos Subwoofer that is for over $600 is terrible. The main speaker itself was nice, but add that cost to the cost of the main speaker & it's a terrible value. I'm very please with the Klipsch

Pros: Great for "minimalist" stereo sound.

    Steve from Alabama on 11/27/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've wanted Klipsch speakers since the 1970's, but they were out of my price range. I was really excited when I saw these. After getting them hooked up, I am disappointed. I had an old Samsung surround sound system which I gave to my daughter, and I liked it much better. This doesn't provide much better quality than just my Samsung TV speakers. I'm going to evaluate for a few days, but unless my attitude changes, I will probably send them back.

Pros: Not too hard to set up. It took about an hour

Cons: Sound quality is not all that good, not much better than my Samsung TV

Pros: Music and overall sound is great

Cons: dialog gets lost a bit when there is other background noise

    Good solution at modest price

    Jgs from Colorado on 11/22/2015

Good product in transitioning from 5.1 to 2.1 for aesthetic purposes. I actually like the simulated surround function unlike several others as the product noticeably attempts to project sound outward. I'm also ordering an optical splitter with the limited inputs and lack of a receiver since the Samsung optical out does not relay digital signal. Overall really good enveloping sound in our great room (wood floors, 10' ceilings, 24'x24') that fills the need we had at a reasonable price as this item is a year or two old.

Pros: Really easy to hook up, nice sound when digital, automatically recognizes signal to power up and down

Cons: Requires digital splitter if you have more than one component. Sound increments aren't refined, but in able to find a volume that I'm comfortable with.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Needed a decent bar to go with XBOX1, noticed the price, cheaper than online retailer, read all reveiws first, biggest complaints was remote quality and optical jack being loose. Ordered it. true remote isnt great, but i know my soundbars and the optical jack isnt loose , if you use lets say a better {$20} optical cable instead a cheap one it comes with ,it couldnt fit any tighter and most of these are designed to be wall mounted , if you use a better cable and sit it on a shelf, buy a right angle toslink adapter, and the cable wont kink or stress jack, as for the bar well worth the money, sounds great, no bluetooth, but doesnt matter if dont need it.

    Pros: simple install

    Cons: remote

This system rocks. The TV in the library now has the depth of sound I LOVE.

    Surpassed my expectations

Jon from Warren, Ohio on 11/18/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this for my girlfriend's house because the TV speakers weren't cutting it. I have a full on Klipsch surround system at home that I'm thrilled with and the Klipsch sound bar was priced right so I thought it would be a good solution. Wasn't disappointed. The difference is night and day compared to the TV speakers. Can clearly hear dialogue and the soundtrack comes thru loud and clear. Bass response is way better than I expected--actually had to throttle it down a little. And overall it can really crank without distortion. The 3D surround feature is a nice touch and it adds some dimension. Even tho its not going to compare to true surround it really does sound great. Overall I'm very happy with the performance for the money. And kudos to Crutchfield for the excellent as always service.

Pros: Set up and running in 5 minutes, sound is amazing with great bass response. High performance to dollar ratio with this system.

Cons: Blue tooth would be nice but not a big deal. The remote is also really small so I find myself digging it out of the couch cushions frequently--guess I should get around to programming my TV remote to operate it!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Did a little research prior to making a sound bar purchase and having owned Klipsch towers, center channel, rear surround sound and sub for a while, decided to give the ICON SB-1 a try. I couldn't be happier with it! Wireless sub sounds amazing! Comcast X1 remote controls the volume flawlessly (although I DID have to Google to find programming that worked on a Klipsch forum). The ONLY thing I didn't see mentioned anywhere in the provided details, or made aware of when I called to verify the dimensions prior to wall mounting my new Sony XBR65X810C 4K UHD, was that the sound bar is oval in shape from top to bottom and uses supplied rubber cradles to stand...which added to the overall height. Can be mounted to wall as well, w/o rubber cradles, using integrated mounting points.

Pros: Sound quality & clarity...bass response...sleek appearance...ease of installation...quality of packaging for shipping

Cons: Does not include bluetooth connectivity...not sure why some reviews rate it and even mention it in their reviews...there is none. This may be a CON for some...but for me, it is NO issue at all.

I've been a very loyal fan of Klipsch products for a very long time, in fact I own several of their products which I use on regular basis. When I found out about this sound bar I thought that I would definitely have to try it. Now, I'm so disappointed in the lack of quality and the signature of Klipsch. It just doesn't sound good and now I'm stuck with it. I just hate to return stuff, I'll find someone who doesn't expect much and will give it to him/her. I would definitely not recommend this product.

    Pros: Just the name recognition!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Was looking for a soundbar to go with my 65 inch Samsung set. The Samsung speakers are weak at best and dialogue was difficult and quality was less than stellar. Saw the Klipsh soundbar and thought I would try it. It was on a nice sale also. Ordered it and it was at my door 3 days later. Extremely easy to set up with the optic cable. Followed the directions and it powered up right away. Did not have to do any programming on the television at all. The Direct TV remote recognized the soundbar, and I control the volume via the one remote. The wireless Sub worked right out of the box as well via bluetooth. Could not be happier. Highly recommend this product. Great Value.

Pros: Set Up. Sound Quality. Workmanship. Ease of Use.

    Cons: None.

    So far so good

    CJ from Ohio on 11/4/2015

I'm new to home theater. I purchased this system for use in a 12x18 living room with my Optoma 141x projector. I will preface by saying that I'm no audiophile, and this is the first time in 10 years that I have purchased audio equipment. In the past I've been satisfied with no muss no fuss setups, and soundbar/sub combos are just that. I had this up and running in about 10-15 minutes with no issues pairing the sub. I'm not over the moon particularly because it did fall short a bit of my expectations for dialogue clarity, but I will be keeping it for now. As I get older and wiser, I'm starting to turn that corner to traditional wired systems and I'm already planning on gradually purchasing the pieces to replace this. If you're already using a receiver with your TV and you want good home theater quality, you might think about purchasing some individual speakers and a wired sub for much better value and then add on as you wish. Buy once cry once! But this is perfectly acceptable for a modest setup like a bedroom TV or as a clean and easy upgrade from your TV's speakers.

Pros: It sounds quite good for basic TV and action-y scenes. I've been re-watching X-Files to get hyped for the 2016 return. I heard and felt deep booms that I've never heard before very loud and clear, so the sub is good...maybe too good. I could hear the dialogue a lot better than with anything I previously used.

Cons: I did have higher hopes for the dialogue which is why I spent the money, because I'm a bit hard of hearing with human speech. But words did get lost a couple times in the lows of the score or during a lot of loud action. That subwoofer. With few interface features and the cheap finish it's not a great value for the money, but probably better performance than similar systems. Music was my least favorite--the tweeters felt shrill and fatiguing while listening to orchestra. Remote is garbage.

Right out of the box, up and running in under 15 minutes. Mounted on the wall just under the console table shelf out of sight, wireless sub in the corner where you can't see it either - but crisp Klipsch sound everywhere! I am so happy and so is my sound challenged aged ear husband!

Pros: You can make it disappear!

Cons: Bit of work to get it to pair with universal remote - but worth it!

After purchasing a 4K television, I wanted to upgrade my sound as well. Quite naturally after being an owner of many Bose products over the years, I opted for one of their sound products. I returned it withn a couple of days and bought the Klipsch Icon SB1 and have absolutely loved it. The dialogue is crisp and clean and with the sub, you get a nice bass response as well. I am very happy with this system and I recommend purchasing it.

Pros: Ease of installaion, clarity or sound

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Was looking for something to improve the clarity of the dialogue for my "old ears". While this is not a perfect remedy its much better than the small speakers of my Panasonic Plasma. I still miss some of the dialogue due to all the background music and sounds that most TV shows have in them now that override everything else. Also this unit was easy to install and performs reasonably well. There are large increments in the volume levels that makes the sound either a little too loud or a little too low. Would also benefit from a Volume Equalizer so that the commercials would not be so much louder than whatever you are watching. I have to constantly lower the volume whenever a commercial comes on. The sound is much richer and fuller than the TV speakers.

Pros: Richer/fuller sound and clearer dialogue. Easy to setup and operate.

Cons: Could use a volume control that goes up and down gradually rather than in such large steps. Also needs volume leveling so commercials are not so much louder than what you are watching.

    Great Sound & Easy

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The system was easy to install and worked excellent right out of the box. I liked that the speaker mounted to the wall with only two screws. With a little measuring and a level it was perfectly level the first try. The full size pattern really helped. I have a full Klipsch 5.1 system in my family room, including an 800 watt sub. This system is just as clear, but not quite as powerful. The subwoofer really does add a lot to the sound. The TV speakers used to sound good, but this system really outshines them.

Pros: Easy install. Great sound. Good flexibility on installation options.

Cons: The cord for the subwoofer could be longer.

Very good sound, plenty of volume, extremely easy setup

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As per earlier reviews, this product is an easy setup, and having a bluetooth subwoofer is a definite plus for convenience. Sound is very good; however, I have yet to listen to music from this device. I use this in a smaller sitting room attached to the kitchen with no issues. I presume it has a lot of room to increase volume - it barely breaks a sweat at any volume I've tried so far, usually sitting no more than 12 feet away. With my ATT U-Verse, however, Klipsch is not a recognized brand to program the remote. HOWEVER, my old Samsung TV that I attached it to JUST HAPPENED to have the same code. SO, if you have ATT U-Verse, program it as a Samsung LCD TV LNS4041DX.

Pros: Ease of setup, sound, simplicity - works exactly as expected.

Cons: Possible incompatibility with some programmable remotes (ATT U-Verse; however look at my review above for this specific remedy).

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

While not on the level of my friends $7000. Klipsch surround system, this setup does a respectable job. The main issue with these sound bars is that they are taller than the bottom of most flat screens, which have the receiver window for the remote control right at the bottom. I have a 50" LG. The soundbar blocks this area so you need to raise the tv up higher to make the remote control receiver window accessible so your TV remote can work! (Unless you want to stand up every time!) What I ended up doing was placing the soundbar on the floor in front of the TV stand and placed the sub behind the TV stand on the floor. This setup works fine in my room. I also keep the sub off with normal TV watching. I tested the clarity and volume of the combo by cranking up a cd of Led Zeppelin-Physical Graffiti Remastered. WOW! After adjusting the sub volume I found a great sounding setting that was very loud and clear with excellent full range sound! I'm very happy with the performance of this system for the price. It's like I have a nice stereo system that works for cd's, DVD's and TV programing thru my BluRay player. I haven't checked out the 3D feature yet.

Pros: Easy setup, great sound quality and high volume capability, nice looking soundbar.

Cons: Soundbar is taller than the bottom of some TV's and blocks the receiver for the TV remote control.

I spent a lot of time researching and reading reviews. There are so many sound bars by so many manufacturers, it is easy to get lost in the noise. I knew this product wasn't going to deliver the same sound as my wired-in surround system in my other house, but this system sounds much better than expected and the wife is happy because there are no wires showing. The bass seems to work anywhere I place it and the 3D feature does a great job simulating surround sound.

Pros: Great sound, simple to install, looks great, responsive bass. No problems with Bluetooth connectivity with bass module.

Cons: No coax input, only optical and analog. Notice many manufacturers are going coax only instead of both?

Replaced an older Onkyo surround system and was concerned that I would lose too much with a sound bar ... but wanted a simpler, cleaner setup. The Klipsch came without instructions but it was so simple, you don't need them. Attached to the TV via optical connection and to a older CD player via A/V connection. Both worked right out of the box with no issue including the wireless pairing with the sub. Was also simple to program the remote so that you don't need the Klipsch remote. Sound was even better than I hoped for ... not true surround sound like I had ... but better than using just the front speakers and sub from the Onkyo system.

    Pros: Simple to install

Pros: Easy install sound quality, wireless sub adds a kick. Installed with LG TV in 20 minutes. Was always listening to the stock TV sound at max volume on Netflix, now we can hear dialog, music and surround perfectly. Enjoyed streaming holiday music through TV and the sound bar. Great product.

Simply outstanding! This unit has seriously great sound and is so easy to set up. It works perfectly with my Samsung TV, which had disappointing sound. Now, I can hear everything clearly. The sub adds that extra kick. It's side firing, so it works well without being muffled by the carpeting I have. I had a Yamaha system, but it just wasn't enough to fill the large room I have this in.

Pros: Ease of use. Sound quality.

Only complaint, the optical port is too loose and the cord has a tendency to come unplugged. I contemplated returning it, but I've spent far too much time looking for a quality system iny price range. This was it. I'll resort to returning it or duck tape before I start the search again.

I'm a total audiophile and the blend of lows, mids, and highs is very important to me. These speakers sound amazing on movies and games. One caveat: if you want that great balanced and mastered sound you here in the Best Buy show room, you have to have media that has been mastered for optimal sound, such as Bu-ray, and then you need to use the optical port. Using the standard port will mix all the sound together and blast it out like your average car stereo, and so it's not worth the money to have this system unless you're using the optical line for optimized media. All in all, my trained ear says this performs just as well as the over-hyped $2000 Bose systems you hear about. I watch movies on this thing and feel completely immersed. Family room is fairly small compared to some living rooms, but turned all the way up, this thing can shake the nails loose in my neighbors' walls. :)

Pros: Cost effective; very high quality balance of lows, mids, and highs, with separate wireless sub and independent volume control.

Pros: Sub is very strong, makes movies come to life.

Cons: No subwoofer control on remote, have to manually turn it down on the back of the unit. No Sound Leveling function. Commercials are way too loud. No digital UI so I can't tell what volume it is set on.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this to replace an aging Sony Dolby pro logic system. I was looking for something with good sound and Bass that would clutter the room much less. This thing works great, not quite as loud as the Sony could play but very clearer sounding with better bass from the sub. Now on TV I can nearly feel a door slam on screen. It defiantly is made for TV and movies. but after plying a few of my fav CD's I'd say its very good and reproducing music recordings. the remote is the one thing that may be a let down to some. Its very tiny and I'm sure can be easy to loose, but it programed to my harmony remote with out a hitch so it not an issue for me. It's almost like they knew most buyers would use some type of programmable remote so they didn't bother to include a nicer one, as was my case.

Pros: less clutter than a standard surround system sounds great plenty of bass vocals and voices sound nice

    Cons: dinky remote,

Unknown product name to me but I know Crutchfield (their product testing and customer service) so I bought it on that trust. Got it home and had it installed in no time. Not unhappy with this product at all.

Pros: Sleek design... Fits well under the TV... Easy easy easy set up. Don't need a degree in audiology/sound mechanics to put this together. All of my Samsung remotes operate the sound bar and I didn't have to do the "teaching remote" steps

Cons: There's no way of knowing what volume setting it is on so never sure if it's on a setting of 3 or a setting of 30... Occasionally it flutters when switching between sources on the TV. Volume levels between clicks varies is wide so when it's too low (click 1 click up) now it's too loud.

High quality sound, very well balanced. Dramatically better than TV speakers and sounds nearly as good as my other TV setup that is a $500 Sony receiver plus full set of surround infinity speakers with 10" subs.

Pros: Small, super easy to setup, works with any IR remote for volume, low sale price, super tight deep bass, goes louder than I'd ever want yet stays clear. Easier for family to use because TV, Cable box, and speakers easy to get to work with one remote in simple setup.

Cons: No competition for a true full surround system, but I wasn't expecting that. No tone adjustment other than subwoofer level, but it's so good, I don't find myself needing it.

Bought this package to upgrade from the television speakers. I run everything off of my Xbox one including my cable tv. The sound this package puts out is incredible for the price. I had purchased a smaller samsung package for 100 less but my open living room kitchen space was too big and dwarfed the sound quality of the Samsung. When I installed the Klipsch system it blew me away with how good the bass from the woofer was filling the room anywhere you were. This is definitely a must buy for someone in the market . For an affordable soundbar and wireless sub.

Fantastic product. I switched top a sound bar to save some room and get rid of clutter in my living room. I had demo's a number of models in this price range and sound wise, the Klipsch blew them all away. The only downside was the lack of Bluetooth but thats solved easily enough. And to be honest, the sound of this is so far surperior to the others in this range that it made it a non issue. Crystal clearm solid and full but not overwhelming bass and super easy set up. I think I Spent more time unpacking it than actually hooking it up. Combined with the sale price from Crutchfield, I cant see anything that can touch it. Since I got it I have been trying to talk a number of friends into getting one.

Pros: Super easy setup, fantastic sound. Balanced, more tham ample volume, full bass. 3D sound is a great option for movies.

The living room in our new home is totally incompatible for surround sound. Plus, with 4 remotes sitting on the table, my wife never knew which one worked what. The answer was simple: Soundbar. I'd always heard such good things about Klipsch that I thought I'd give it a try. When the SB-1 arrived, it took less than 10 minutes for me to set it up. It has exceeded my expectations in terms of overall sound, good but not over the top base, well defined (clear) human voices, and ease of use. I couldn't ask for anything more!

Pros: Sounds great. Easy to set up. The 3-D effect is amazing.

This is a 2nd Klipsch SB1 I own. The first one gave me such an impressive sound I had to get a second one to replace a Polk Audio 6000, which Crutchfield had picked as their choice a while ago. As expected, the signature of Klipsch is the crystal clear highs, which SB1 doesn't disappoint. The Polk Audio is great, but the SB1 is really much better. There is a lot of choice out there, and it's very hard to choose the ones that sound right... so this is one of those things you have to have faith when you buy it online. Crutchfield staffs are pretty reliable when it comes to recommendation so don't forget to ask lots of questions. If you keep in mind that this is a sound bar and not a surround system, this is a great piece if you want a full sounding spectrum compared to television speakers. The subwoofer adds a nice punch and rumble and the highs are nice too. This replaced a Yamaha yas-101 sound bar and it has both deeper and higher response but I preferred the volume control and response of the Yamaha. Got this because I was completely unsatisfied with the sound from my new Sharp big screen. My living room is a 30 foot room with 25 foot vaulted ceilings and a little irregular shape and this system still sounds good. I am not a true audiophile, so I was not looking for an expensive true surround sound, or a hi end music quality system (obviously). I was skeptical that any sound bar system would sound acceptable in a room such as mine, but my family and I are thrilled with how it sounds. Very easy set up. Only wish my TV allowed me to disable its own volume - it is annoying to have the TV volume and the sound bar volume both responding to the universal remote - and I don't like having to grab the little sound bar remote every time I want to change the volume.

We are enjoying this soundbar and sub very much. It is not extremely loud but you can turn it up to max volume and it will not distort. Keep in mind, you only get out of it what you put in. A good clean signal going in such as hdmi and a good toslink cable like the monster cable that I purchased with this product will result in the best sound. Kept the box for about a week just in case I wanted to return it and a couple of days ago I disposed of the box, I will be keeping this. Thanks Crutchfield for the great service and thanks to Klipsch for the great sound!

After reading all the great reviews, I bought this item, set it up, and was immediately underwhelmed. I tried it vs the TV, vs a pair of floor-standing speakers, vs a pair of speakers that are above my head, and vs all of the above with and without subs. I realize it might not be fair to compare any 2.1 speaker set against a 1.1 solution, but I expected more sound to fill the room. On the plus side, the highs are nice and bright - it's good as a center channel for voice if that's what you want. Add the sub and I suppose that's why so many are happy. I thought the lack of mid-range was too noticeable, but I'm obviously in the minority. I had my neighbor, who was also excited that I got the Klipsch, sit an go through the various possibilities with me for an hour. He was also less than fully impressed. I have returned this sound bar and will try to convince my wife the the floor speakers are worth the improved sound. I really wanted this soundbar to work for our room, but I think the room is too big at 20x18 with an open second floor above.

If your in need of a sound bar, there is no other choice, honestly. For the price and sound quality you'll be hard pressed to find something better. Strong mids with detailed high reaching tweeters. The 250 watts of power is not a real number. I'd say it's around 100 or so. The subwoofer is underpowered and must be placed in a corner. I have it set to 5/8 volume. Even still with a spl meter (not a fake iphone version) turned to volume 10 out of 20 it will play music back at 103-105 db 6 feet away listening to metal (The word alive, Wishmaster). Movies at volume 15 out of 20 dolby digital input from the ps3 is 90-110 db (Tron Legacy). No distortion period. Amazing really. Now for the negative. Needs to mounted high for optimal dispersion. Grill needs to be off on the sound bar or it will sound like a boombox. I have mine mounted 6 feet up above the 70inch in my apartment. Sub takes a long break in period, even longer for the speaker bar. I love this system though. Excellent for an apartment.

Pros: Intoxicating sound. Excellent bass. Loud.

Cons: Not a 5.1 system. Subwoofer placement limited. Sound bar needs to be mounted high for spatial dispersion. Break in time is a good week of listening.

This soundbar fills my living room nicely with a full bodied sound. The bass is excellent and the vocals are crystal clear. That being said, there are a few issues. The 3D sound mode is useless and actually worse than the standard setting. The only control for the subwoofer volume is a knob on the subwoofer itself - not through the remote. The volume steps through the remote are not fine enough. I'd like to have more steps for finer control. And the remote is a little flimsy. I have a Vizio soundbar that was less than 1/2 the price of the Klipsch that has a few more features (including bluetooth). It lacks the depth of the Klipsch's sound, but not by a lot. All in all I'm pleased with the Klipsch, but they need to step up their game and include the features that cheaper soundbars provide. I think that the price I paid was fair to a little high compared to other makes. Crutchfield sales, service, and shipping was first rate!

I am pleasantly surprised at the sound quality from the Klipsch SB-! setup, which I'm using in a fairly large-sized family room. It looks quite nice sitting atop a 72" long console unit, directly beneath my Sony 60" wall-mounted TV. The sound bar alone sounds quite tinny, with very little mid-range tones. However, the 10" Klipsch sub fills in the voids quite nicely -- and rattles the walls when necessary. I couldn't be happier.

Pros: Good sound, good looks, quality of Klipsch at a reasonable price.

    Cons: None

I got the Klipsch SB1 at the discounted price and it's well worth the money and would have been at the full price. TV show dialogue we couldn't hear clearly before is crisp and clear now. The bass is excellent and fills in where it should but doesn't overpower the rest of the audio. Setup was very easy, including tuning it to my cable remote. Fantastic purchase and an excellent product.

Pros: Great sound, looks great, easy setup, quality product.

It is a very good wireless sound bar and subwoofer. The sound is excellent, just right, and has good power, subwoofer has an adjuster base boom boom, I like it. It's automatic set up, just plug and play. The price is reasonable too.

Pros: The sound clarity and power.

    Cons: Nothing

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed a simplistic solution to provide better sound for my parent's T.V. and this sound bar worked perfectly. Easy setup (just a few cables & it learns your T.V.'s volume & mute buttons). Only problem I had was turning off the internal speakers in my Panasonic Plasma but a quick google search solved the problem.

Pros: Very easy setup (no receiver needed) Much better sound than internal flat panel speakers (warmer sound with some bass) Learns T.V. remote buttons so dedicated remote not needed. Turns itself on & off when it detects signal from T.V.

Cons: virtual surround sound is not believable. Stick with standard 2.1 and enjoy

Shipping was very fast & the SB-1 arrived in undamaged condition. Installation using the optic cable was easy and the resulting sound is excellent. Two minor quibbles: adjusting sub woofer sound level took some trial & error to optimize and sound level ajustment is a bit course & can require some adjustment for different channels. I definitely recoomend the SB-1 for the quality of sound & ease of use.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this as an upgrade to our 65" Samsung standard speakers for when we don't feel like turning on the home theater set-up. Based on other reviews we went for the Klipsch SB1. All I can say is "WOW", what a difference this soundbar makes. Although we've only been using it a few weeks, whether watching T.V. or movies, the Klipsch SB1 makes a huge difference in sound quality and projection. The base module is nice but the tonal quality from the soundbar is well worth the $399 price. Great addition to our home!!

We bought this sound bar for our new 55" tv and it works great. My wife wears hearing aids and this sound bar has tweeters that make it much better for people with hearing problems to make out voices. We love it and would recommend it to everyone.

Arrived very quickly with no damage. Easy to set up. Great to listen to.

Pros: Excellent sound quality even at low volume levels. The TV speakers made listening to speech an exercise in turning the volume way up to understand what was being said. Music and speech are crystal clear even at very low levels. Bought this after a price drop which was a bonus.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got this on sale and had my eye on it anyway. The sound is probably the best I've heard in the ~$500 price range. The subwoofer really kicks. Set up is ridiculously easy. You need a digital optical audio cable. Other reviewers noted a coarse volume adjustment, which I agree with. It is not ideal but tolerable. My Directv remote controls the volume the same as the small remote supplied with the system. Note that this system doesn't have Bluetooth capability but I just got an RCA to headphone adapter cable and plug my iPhone into it directly to stream Pandora. Would have given 5 stars were it not for the volume adjustment and the lack of a Bluetooth connection.

    Pros: The sound Looks good

Cons: No Bluetooth Coarse volume adjustment

Very nice, easy install. Sounds much better than TV speakers and other sound bars. It is hard to hit a sweet spot with volume at low levels, I assume its the sensitivity that Klipsch is known for. Not an issue when a little louder. Missing bluetooth but I knew that going in and probably never would use it anyway.

Pros: Sound baby. I love the horn sound, Either you do or you don't. I also think Bose is overpriced hype for paper cones and inaccurate sound. To each his own. I love it

Cons: A little steep on the price. Also hate that Audiovox owns Klipsch now. The thing will not do dishes no matter how I try....

This sound bar was so easy to hook up after I called a crutchfield advisor to explain the optical cable. Since I never saw one I didn't know you have to take off the white plastic cap before trying to hook it up. I couldn't figure out why the cable didn't fit. After speaking with the advisor he assured me I wasn't the first person to make that mistake. I'm not sure if he was telling the truth but if he wasn't that also says something about the great customer service. The sound bar is amazing. I didn't realize how bad the TV sound was until I hooked this up. I can hear people when they speak now! Movies and music shows are so much better. I would definitely recommend buying the Klipsch Icon SB-1 and buy it from Crutchfield because it's the best price I could find anywhere and customer service is outstanding.

I did a lot of research online and listening in stores. This is by far the best-sounding bar under $1000 and totally whomps the $1500 bose bar. Got it from Crutchfield at $200 discount to every other store, plus free shipping and Crutchfield''s awesome tech support. If you have room for it, quit thinking and buy it.

Pros: Sound, sound, sound. Really fills my 20 X 25 X 10 (ceilings) with clean clear sound. Base is deep without being boomy. Looks good (for a soundbar), installs in 5 minutes. Did I mention the sound?

Cons: Only complaint is it didn't have bluetooth connectivity built in. Easily solved by plugging soundbar to TV via optical cable and adding a Logitech bluetooth speaker adapter ($40) via the soundbar's RCA jacks (inexplicably, Crutchfield doesn't carry this item).

This is a very nice aftermarket TV speakers, but I was expecting a little better sound for the price. paired with a 55" Samsung LED TV. The simulated 3D sound is good with Blueray discs. but not on normal DVD's. No really sound difference from the internal speakers on the TV and SB-1 when watching normal TV show thru my cable provider. If I was doing it again I would have purchased something in the $200-$300 price range and probable would have gotten the same sound quality and save $250-$300.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I originally focused on the Klipsch SB3 but ordered the top rated Sony soundbar in Consumer Reports which did not have the full sound I was looking for. I traded it up for a ZVOX 555 which was better because I could hook my existing 10" subwoofer to it, but the subwoofer connection went out after a few weeks. I traded up again for the Klipsch SB1, which had now replaced the SB3, and I'm absolutely satisfied with its clear and crisp sound and the 10" subwoofer provides the fullness I was looking for. As far as the volume adjustment issue others have commented about, I find that if I boost the volume and it jumps too far I can back it down a little and get the level I'm looking for. A bit of a hassle, but you can get to the level you want to with some adjustment. I would highly recommend the Klipsch SB1 for ease of setup and providing very accurate reproduction of the sound.

Pros: Ease of setup. Very clear, crisp and full sound with the 10" wireless subwoofer. No turning off or on with the automatic off and on feature. Programmed easily with my cable box remote.

Cons: I have no negatives to report.

This product lived up to both the Company description, and the customer reviews I read before purchasing it. Installation was very easy and it sounds great to me! Of course I could be biased, but guests comment regularly about how great this sound system is, so the quality of the system is evident to everybody. Also, my TV does not interface with the optical connection so I had to call a tech for some help. As always Crutchfield Techs came through. They researched my TV and had me up and running in a matter of minutes!

Pros: Great quality to cost ratio. Easy installation. Technical assistance is outstanding!

My large screen TV speakers occasionally rattle at higher volumes so have been meaning to get a sound bar... And now that I just got an Xbox One, even more reason to get good sound. After much research I landed on this system and am not disappointed. It really fills my pretty large room with sound and it has more than enough power that I would never "crank it up" all the way, else my ears would hurt. The sub-woofer really can make my house shake. Great for movies and video games.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After reading the reviews here and talking to a Crutchfield advisor, I decided to give this sound bar a shot. I had already gone through two Samsungs (the first one was knocked to the floor by the cat and it was toast, the insides of the CD mechanism hanging loosely from the housing) and the second one simply died .....two weeks after the one year warranty had expired. As my advisor noted, while Samsung makes great TVs (and I have one I wouldn't trade for anything) they are not sound experts. Duly noted. I was concerned that the system would not be sufficient for the size of my room, (20x25) but it is great. Sound definition is excellent. As for the complaints about the sound adjustments, my Verizon FIOS remote automatically adjusts the Klipsch, so I have none of those problems that others have reported. Sound adjusts smoothly.

Pros: Easy peasy to set up right out of the box. Sounds great. Couldn't beat the price.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Wiring and start-up was unbelievably simple (I used the optic connector provided). Follow the instructions and the remote set-up was a cakewalk. As mentioned by a couple previous reviewers, the "steps" in volume using the provided remote are rather large. I found using my Samsung remote, they are more incremental. As for the sound? Wow. Absolutely night and day improvement over the television's internal speakers. Bass, vocals, it. Watching movies and listening to music is incredible.

Pros: Super easy set-up, amazing performance for a soundbar-based system

Cons: The only "con" I can think of is the aforementioned volume "steps" with the provided remote.

Love soundbars for easy hookup and sound function in small to avg rooms. I had been looking at this soundbar for awhile All my soundbars have come from crutchfield and more than happy with product and service. This soundbar is quality in richness and how it can fill a room. It is a bar great for tv drama, movies and music. My ear had to get used to the difference and out of the box it was a bit tight until it played awhile. My wish list was that the next manufacture will include hdmi and volume display. This bar is as close to a 5.1surround that I have seen and it one of the few that can fill an open room with wonderful sound without turning up to the max and the sub all the way up.. Really a wonderful feature this bar has when hooked to an optical cable on the back of the tv or aux to the cable box is once the tv or cable box is turned off it goes to standby and when tv or cablebox turned back on it awakes to sound, no need to hunt the bars remote everytime. WORTH THE MONEY SPENT!

Pros: Full sound, power, ease of use and just plain quality of a soundbar. Great bar tv and music.

Cons: No hdmi, volume display and bluetooth

    As described - great soundbar!

After doing some extensive research online (customer reviews, critics reviews), the Klipsch SB1 looked to be a top mid-priced sound bar and a good value for the money. After using it for 2 weeks now I have no regrets on the purchase. The bar was simple to install and hang and is very simple to operate. The sound is quite powerful, especially when combined with the subwoofer. The clarity also is amazing even at high volumes. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the volume stepping issue which I was already aware of when purchasing the sound bar. It was mentioned in numerous reviews and the criticism is valid. It doesn't ruin the audio experience, but it is definitely something I notice and wonder how the heck Klipsch overlooked (or ignored?) this issue.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This sound bar produces big, natural sound. Started out a bit shrill out of the box, but has broken in nicely. Excellent clarity in dialogue and will flat out scream on soundtracks. It is not true surround sound (nor is it supposed to be) but the 3D mode does add some "width". I researched sound bars for months before deciding on this model. It was a great choice. The SB-1 is an excellent value for the sound upgrade received. It works perfectly with my Harmony 900 remote. As another reviewer noted on another Klipsch model, the adjustments in volume were a bit coarse. I found that my cable box had the "loudness" feature enabled. I disabled the feature and the volume adjustment is more refined. Finally, as always, you'll never go wrong buying from Crutchfield.

Pros: Clear, natural sound. Decor friendly. Wireless sub. Strong, but not overpowering bass. Simple connections. Easy integration with Harmony 900 remote.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I own a Harmon Kardon sound bar for another TV, that sounded good enough for me to try this for the living room set. What a difference! The sound quality is much better on the Klipsch.... Better sound, Much better separation in 3d mode and the set up was very easy!

Pros: Simple to hang up above the tv, using the provided template. Up and running in 20 mins!! Sounds great!!

Cons: The Box was pretty beat up on arrival, with a couple of fist sized dents and a 2-3 inch hole knocked partially into it. However, the upon opening, the equipment was fine and in perfect shape. So really.... no gripes!!

    Best on the market

Overview: The Klipsch SB-1 Soundbar + Subwoofer Speaker System improves your television and movie sound by simulating a multi-speaker surround sound system. It instantly upgrades your TV sound without requiring a separate receiver and multiple speakers. The Klipsch SB-1 consists of a self-powered soundbar speaker and a 10" wireless powered subwoofer, combining for 250-watts (Peak) of power. The system features an elegant black satin finish to blend in with your flat-panel TV and decor.

Self-Powered Soundbar w/ Horn-Loaded Technology: The Klipsch SB-1 includes a self-powered Soundbar speaker. The SB-1's Soundbar speaker utilizes horn-loading technology designed to send sound more directly to the listening area. By incorporating highly efficient horn-loaded technology into the SB-1 all sounds are more detailed, dialogue clarity is significantly improved, and overall output is maximized to cover even the largest listening areas. The Soundbar speaker utilizes two lightweight 0.78" aluminum tweeter diaphragms for distinctive high-frequency detail, coupled with four 3" long-throw IMG (injected molded graphite) woofers for extended mid-bass response. The tweeters are mated to dual 90° x 90° Tractrix Horns to both reduce distortion and to increase dispersion more directly to the main listening area. Reduced distortion increases sonic detail while controlled dispersion sends more sound to the listening area for greater accuracy and openness.

Wireless Powered Subwoofer: The Klipsch SB-1 includes a wireless powered subwoofer with a 10" side-firing fiber composite woofer in a bass reflex enclosure (with rear-firing slot-port). The sophisticated, 2.4 GHz technology automatically connects the soundbar and subwoofer together wirelessly (wireless range of up to 50'). Subwoofer cabinet construction is critical for proper bass reproduction. Particleboard or, even worse, plastic subwoofer cabinets resonate in a manner that severely distorts bass, causing it to sound "boomy". The Klipsch SB-1 subwoofer uses a very solid MDF cabinet to prevent unwanted vibration and distortion. The wireless powered subwoofer has an independent volume control dial located on its rear-panel.

3D Surround Mode: The Klipsch SB-1 features a selectable 3D Surround Mode designed to simulate the effect of a surround sound system. This effect will work at multiple listening positions in your room.

Digital + Analog Connection: The Klipsch SB-1 is designed to quickly connect to most TV's using either a digital optical (toslink) connection or an analog (RCA) hookup. Using the digital optical connection, the built-in Dolby Digital decoder accepts sound from both the TV and any device (such as a DVD/Blu-ray player or Cable/Satellite receiver) hooked up to the TV. There is also analog RCA left/right input, if your television does not offer an optical digital output.

Remote Control: You can program the Klipsch SB-1's Volume Up/Down and Mute functions into your existing TV remote for further ease-of-operation. You also have the option of controlling all functions of the system with the included IR remote control.

Mounting Options: The soundbar speaker can be positioned on a shelf or stand using the supplied rubber feet. It can also be wall-mounted using its dual keyhole slots and included easy-to-use template. The keyhole spacing is 28.25". The minimal 2.9375" soundbar depth aesthetically matches either a wall-mounted or table-top mounted TV. The rubber feet add 0.25" to the height of the soundbar speaker.

Reviews seemed the best. had been comparing to a Yamaha YAS-201, this seemed to get better, plus Klipsch better known as a speaker manufacturer than Yamaha. Lack of Bluetooth was almost an issue, but opted for the sound. Plus this includes a subwoofer Yamaha did not. The higher end Yamaha (YAS-203?) had the wireless subwoofer but more complaints about the sound quality ("tinny", "muddled bass", "poor dialog") that I stayed away from it. [ michael  Dec 06, 2015 ]

Is that a TV? If so, probably, that's what it's made for. It has an optical and an RCA input. Sounds great but I'm worried you may not deserve it. [ chubby  Nov 03, 2015 ]
same problem here. Doesn't bother me often but other reviewers hate it [ chubby  Oct 03, 2015 ]
I find that the incremental volume step up or down is to wide and it takes a little effort and some luck to achieve a desired volume. [ JOHN H  Oct 02, 2015 ]
When the volume on my klipsch system is turned up by one increment during alot of action or something similar it seems a little loud but for the most part its just right!! [ ANTHONY  Oct 01, 2015 ]
Yes to the off and on. Not sure about cables. Came with an optical cable I believe that worked for me. Get one, sounds great. Really good bottom end [ chubby  Dec 22, 2014 ]
Ken, Yes you can turn off the sound bar independently in fact it has its own remote. Also the system comes with everything needed to hook up the bar to you TV. I highly recommend this bar its powerful and almost sounds as good as my 7.1 system. Happy holidays Ray F [ RAY  Dec 21, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: It is likely you can connect the Klipsch SB-1 to your Samsung TV; however without the exact model of your TV I am not able to say with 100% certainty. It is possible to turn off the sound bar and turn back on the speakers in the TV if so desired. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Dec 21, 2014 ]  Staff
Very easy to hook up. Plug it into power outlet to power the unit and one wire to t.v. the remote control turns the unit on and off. I use yhat reomte to adjust volume level and turn the tv sound to lowest setting. Sound from this system is fantastic. Highly recommend. Considering a second uunit for basement tv. [ JOE  Dec 11, 2014 ]
It comes with an optical audio cable to hook to your new TV that will provide you with audio. As far as independent control, that depends on how you have it set up... There is a remote included for full independent control, but I have mine volume and mute set up to my Direct TV remote. The good thing about this sound bar is it can learn whatever input signal you want to use to change volume and what not. The soundbar turns on when it gets an input and will turn off when there is no more audio being pushed to it from your device or TV. At any point you can turn the sound bar down, then turn the TV up if you dont need it. Hope that answer is of some help. [ JOSEPH  Dec 10, 2014 ]
For details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation. [ Greg  Sep 01, 2014 ]  Staff
Not sure what model your TV is and how old it is. You can purchased a universal remote at any retail store. Walmart, Target, etc. If you want something more what you are looking for on a higher end unit, check with Crutchfield. Dan [ DAN  Aug 06, 2014 ]
You will need to contact Klispch to get a replacement remote. You can reach them at 1-800-KLIPSCH [ Jeff  Jul 29, 2014 ]  Staff
The SB1 does not have any tone or eq controls. [ STEPHEN R  Jun 02, 2014 ]
No, the SB1 does not have treble/EQ controls on the remote or otherwise. The volume control increases/decreases incrementally, with no fine control, but the increments seem to work out OK. The sub has its own volume control located on the sub. The sound is absolutely great - I especially like the 3D surround mode for both TV and music - I don't know how they do it. [ CHARLES C  May 28, 2014 ]
No, it does not. I have adjusted at the source whether it is TV or receiver. Has great sound with wonderful low tones. [ LEO A  May 28, 2014 ]
No they do not have EQ Controls. Just subwoofer min/max volume control. [ AMANTE  May 28, 2014 ]

Brian, mine is in a room approximately 17'x20'x9'. It works great. I have a higher end sound bar in another room and I prefer the sound quality of the SB-1 to the more expensive one. Good luck. [ JEFFREY  Apr 02, 2014 ]
Thanks everybody...went ahead and pulled the trigger. This should be great from what i am hearing for my simple living room. [ Brian  Apr 02, 2014 ]
Brian, put this in our lower level media viewing area which is about the same size with 9 foot ceilings. We have a 65" Samsung and the sound quality from the Klipsch so far has bee nothing short of impressive. Not the same as a complete home theatre system, but much better than the standard speakers for movies or regular T.V. viewing. [ Kevin  Apr 02, 2014 ]
We have a similar size room with 20' high ceilings and the sound is fantastic. I would recommend this set to anyone. [ KEVIN  Apr 02, 2014 ]
Hey Brian, This size room is definitely NOT too big. Mine is about the same size and I absolutely LOVE it. I only have the bass up 1/2 way cause I'm afraid I'll disturb my neighbors w/it all the way up. It will literally vibrate the floor across the room. Feels like I'm in a movie theater most of the time. I say pull the trigger, you won't be sorry! ;) ~Rae [ RAE  Apr 02, 2014 ]
SB 1 has not been installed. When I do, will follow up. [ David  Apr 02, 2014 ]
Your TV should have an optical out (fiber optic) or analog out (red & white RCA). Either output source from your TV to the sound bar will work. Whatever source the TV is showing should send the sound to to sound bar. [ BRIAN G  Jul 08, 2014 ]
I not sure what issue you have, but I've a Smart TV, I connected the DVR box to the TV with a HDMI cable, Connected the optical TV output to the Soundbar optical input, turned off the internal speakers. Everything audio plays thru the soundbar. [ JOHN H  Apr 03, 2014 ]
The sound bar works great on my Samsung Smart TV. I connect the smart TV to the internet and play movies through the Amazon app without any sound problem. I have a Netflix app as well but don't subscribe, It should work the same. [ Allan  Mar 20, 2014 ]
The sound will still go through the TV. Your set up in the tv needs to be switched to sound bar. [ STANLEY J.  Mar 20, 2014 ]
The optical is hooked up to the TV so watching Netflix through the bar is not a problem. I do it now. There can be a lag/echo sometimes with the sound at the beginning dependent on the transfer speed. That goes away in a few minutes. [ William  Mar 20, 2014 ]
I am not sure what you mean by a smart TV. I have a 60" Sharp Aquos with built-in WiFi including Netflix. The Klipsch Icon SB-1 has two types of inputs. It has a digital optical audio input and stereo RCA phono plug inputs. I connected the digital optical cable directly to my television and I get sound from all applications including Netflix. FYI - when you set up the SB-1, you first couple your television remote to the soundbar. Your television remote then controls the volume of the audio coming from the soundbar. It took a couple of attempts for the soundbar to learn the signal from my remote, but once it did, it worked fine. I hope this answered your question. [ RICHARD W  Mar 20, 2014 ]
I Know nothing about Sonos, I not sure what you mean by network, my optical cable goes between the TV output & the SB1 input. The speaker system is decent I would give it 4 **** , the remote should be redesigned, it's too small easy to lose, and hard to tune into a desirable volume level. [ JOHN H  Mar 08, 2014 ]
All you have to do is plug and play. [ JOE D  Mar 08, 2014 ]
Optical to any source that accepts optical. Ours goes from bar to tv. Could go to receiver, cable box, etc. Component ports and cables also an option. [ JIM  Mar 07, 2014 ]
If you have it hooked up to a smart tv you don't. You access your network through there. There is no wifi or network cables on the system itself. [ William  Mar 07, 2014 ]
Nope, it doesn't. I just got one and it is only hooked up to my TV. For what it's worth, the sound is great. I'm very pleased with it. [ MEREDITH  Mar 07, 2014 ]
Travis I am not familiar with that system so I did read up on it and it seemed all it confirmed was the sonos will play what ever sound was put into it. In that case the will play anything hooked up to it or thru the tv. [ STANLEY J.  Mar 07, 2014 ]
I have my SB-1 connected to my television with the digital optical cable. When you turn the TV on, the SB-1 detects the signal from the television and automatically comes on. When you shut the TV off, the soundbar dies not shut off. It shuts off automatically after a few minutes of not detecting sound from your television. [ RICHARD W  Mar 20, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: You can program this sound bar with your new Samsung remote control. With this, you can power it on/off, turn up/down the volume, and mute the sound bar. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Mar 09, 2014 ]  Staff
2:1 you will have tell the tv you have a soundbar [ STANLEY J.  Mar 07, 2014 ]
This is a powered sound bar/sub. It should play whatever you have coming out. I don't think the Blu-ray can process the sound, so pre-amp through the TV. [ DANIEL M  Mar 04, 2014 ]
It's not 5.1. For real surround sound you need a different amplifier. This is a very good, inexpensive shelf system for a small room, but wonderful for that. [ RICHARD  Feb 26, 2014 ]
No Bluetooth capabilities. It would be the perfect soundbar if it did! [ Kelly  Jan 13, 2014 ]
    No [ Bob  Jan 10, 2014 ]
The Klipsch SB-1 soundbar does not have native bluetooth capabilities. An alternative option is to get an RCA (red-white) to 3.5mm headphone adapter to plug your device into the soundbar. Likewise, a bluetooth 3.5mm headphone dongle may be a possibility. You can't beat the sound on this soundbar for the price, very happy with my purchase! [ JOSEPH  Jan 10, 2014 ]
    No. [ STANLEY J.  Jan 10, 2014 ]
    Don't Know [ BRIAN C  Jan 10, 2014 ]
    It does not. [ Allan  Jan 10, 2014 ]
If the TV sits on a pedestal base you could place a piece of wood, e.g., a 2x8 or 2x10 cut to length to support the base. I have the same issue and have been thinking of that as a solution. I need to raise mine about 2 inches. [ EDWARD L  Jan 07, 2014 ]
I used the least expensive hockey pucks i could find; stacked 2 under each foot of the stand. [ PAUL F  Jan 06, 2014 ]
I have my soundbar sitting on my mantle and my tv mounted on the chimney you only need 4 1/2" clearance . I would start with the tv first . Put it comfortably viewable and go from there . There are only two wires to hide , the power and the optical. Good luck! [ JEFFREY  Jan 06, 2014 ]
You may wish to determine if the soundbar can attach to the mounting bracket directly. Ours did. The kit included a small shelf-like device that facilitated the mounting of the sound bar to the frame. Les [ LES R  Jan 06, 2014 ]
    This system does have a built-in amplifier. [ Jeff  Dec 10, 2013 ]  Staff
I believe only 110v. For me it was just plug into a 110v outlet and turn it on. Highly recommend this sound bar. Everyone who heard it thinks it's the best they've heard. [ JOE  Dec 03, 2013 ]
I looked on the back of the subwoofer and it supports up to 240V so I can only assume the soundbar does as well. I can't readily access the power supply on the bar to confirm, but I am fairly certain you will be fine at 220V. [ ROBERT  Dec 02, 2013 ]
I do not know but do not recall seeing a voltage selector on the back. [ LEO A  Dec 02, 2013 ]
Yes. The SB1 power suppy looks like the type that is used for laptop computers and is marked "INPUT 110-240 V 50-60 HZ 1.5 A". The AC supply cord is the type for North America with a two blade NEMA plug on one end, and an IEC "C8" plug on the other end that connects to the power supply. This very common C8 type cord can be replaced with one that matches the power outlet standard in your country. Search on Google for "Klipsch Sb1 quick start" to see a very rough drawing of the SB1 power supply on page 2. [ Kent  Dec 02, 2013 ]
Not sure. It has a transformer that plugs into the power but I am not sure if it handles both 110 and 220. [ MARK J  Dec 02, 2013 ]
