Your TV may look fantastic, but highly dynamic, multi-layered audio is not its forte. Solution? The Klipsch Icon SB 1 sound bar with wireless subwoofer. Klipsch's legendary horn-loaded technology will banish incoherency while preserving all the rich detail you demand from your on-screen entertainment.

Virtual surround technology immerses you in a surround-sound like audio experience from the get-go. Plenty of power is on-board to fill even a spacious viewing room with quality sound. Each channel features two soft dome compression tweeters mated to TracTrix® horns, for unparalleled clarity. The midrange and midbass frequencies are capably handled by four 3-inch woofers (2 for each channel). And then there's the wireless, 10-inch side-firing subwoofer for the authoritative low frequencies that breathe realism in to the action on-screen.

Ready in minutes

The 'SB 1 is easy to set up. Rubber feet are included for positioning on your entertainment console, and one cable is all you need to connect to your TV in most cases to hear better sound right away. Should you wish to wall-mount the sound bar, a template is included so you can use the dual keyhole mounts to do so. At 40 inches wide, it's a perfect companion for your wall-mounted TV sized 42 inches and up.

Great product. Easy to hook up and sound through all media formats is AWESOME.

    Product Research

Overview: The Klipsch SB-1 Soundbar + Subwoofer Speaker System improves your television and movie sound by simulating a multi-speaker surround sound system. It instantly upgrades your TV sound without requiring a separate receiver and multiple speakers. The Klipsch SB-1 consists of a self-powered soundbar speaker and a 10" wireless powered subwoofer, combining for 250-watts (Peak) of power. The system features an elegant black satin finish to blend in with your flat-panel TV and decor.

Self-Powered Soundbar w/ Horn-Loaded Technology: The Klipsch SB-1 includes a self-powered Soundbar speaker. The SB-1's Soundbar speaker utilizes horn-loading technology designed to send sound more directly to the listening area. By incorporating highly efficient horn-loaded technology into the SB-1 all sounds are more detailed, dialogue clarity is significantly improved, and overall output is maximized to cover even the largest listening areas. The Soundbar speaker utilizes two lightweight 0.78" aluminum tweeter diaphragms for distinctive high-frequency detail, coupled with four 3" long-throw IMG (injected molded graphite) woofers for extended mid-bass response. The tweeters are mated to dual 90° x 90° Tractrix Horns to both reduce distortion and to increase dispersion more directly to the main listening area. Reduced distortion increases sonic detail while controlled dispersion sends more sound to the listening area for greater accuracy and openness.

Wireless Powered Subwoofer: The Klipsch SB-1 includes a wireless powered subwoofer with a 10" side-firing fiber composite woofer in a bass reflex enclosure (with rear-firing slot-port). The sophisticated, 2.4 GHz technology automatically connects the soundbar and subwoofer together wirelessly (wireless range of up to 50'). Subwoofer cabinet construction is critical for proper bass reproduction. Particleboard or, even worse, plastic subwoofer cabinets resonate in a manner that severely distorts bass, causing it to sound "boomy". The Klipsch SB-1 subwoofer uses a very solid MDF cabinet to prevent unwanted vibration and distortion. The wireless powered subwoofer has an independent volume control dial located on its rear-panel.

3D Surround Mode: The Klipsch SB-1 features a selectable 3D Surround Mode designed to simulate the effect of a surround sound system. This effect will work at multiple listening positions in your room.

Digital + Analog Connection: The Klipsch SB-1 is designed to quickly connect to most TV's using either a digital optical (toslink) connection or an analog (RCA) hookup. Using the digital optical connection, the built-in Dolby Digital decoder accepts sound from both the TV and any device (such as a DVD/Blu-ray player or Cable/Satellite receiver) hooked up to the TV. There is also analog RCA left/right input, if your television does not offer an optical digital output.

Remote Control: You can program the Klipsch SB-1's Volume Up/Down and Mute functions into your existing TV remote for further ease-of-operation. You also have the option of controlling all functions of the system with the included IR remote control.

Mounting Options: The soundbar speaker can be positioned on a shelf or stand using the supplied rubber feet. It can also be wall-mounted using its dual keyhole slots and included easy-to-use template. The keyhole spacing is 28.25". The minimal 2.9375" soundbar depth aesthetically matches either a wall-mounted or table-top mounted TV. The rubber feet add 0.25" to the height of the soundbar speaker.

Reviews seemed the best. had been comparing to a Yamaha YAS-201, this seemed to get better, plus Klipsch better known as a speaker manufacturer than Yamaha. Lack of Bluetooth was almost an issue, but opted for the sound. Plus this includes a subwoofer Yamaha did not. The higher end Yamaha (YAS-203?) had the wireless subwoofer but more complaints about the sound quality ("tinny", "muddled bass", "poor dialog") that I stayed away from it. [ michael  Dec 06, 2015 ]

Is that a TV? If so, probably, that's what it's made for. It has an optical and an RCA input. Sounds great but I'm worried you may not deserve it. [ chubby  Nov 03, 2015 ]
same problem here. Doesn't bother me often but other reviewers hate it [ chubby  Oct 03, 2015 ]
I find that the incremental volume step up or down is to wide and it takes a little effort and some luck to achieve a desired volume. [ JOHN H  Oct 02, 2015 ]
When the volume on my klipsch system is turned up by one increment during alot of action or something similar it seems a little loud but for the most part its just right!! [ ANTHONY  Oct 01, 2015 ]
Yes to the off and on. Not sure about cables. Came with an optical cable I believe that worked for me. Get one, sounds great. Really good bottom end [ chubby  Dec 22, 2014 ]
Ken, Yes you can turn off the sound bar independently in fact it has its own remote. Also the system comes with everything needed to hook up the bar to you TV. I highly recommend this bar its powerful and almost sounds as good as my 7.1 system. Happy holidays Ray F [ RAY  Dec 21, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: It is likely you can connect the Klipsch SB-1 to your Samsung TV; however without the exact model of your TV I am not able to say with 100% certainty. It is possible to turn off the sound bar and turn back on the speakers in the TV if so desired. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Dec 21, 2014 ]  Staff
Very easy to hook up. Plug it into power outlet to power the unit and one wire to t.v. the remote control turns the unit on and off. I use yhat reomte to adjust volume level and turn the tv sound to lowest setting. Sound from this system is fantastic. Highly recommend. Considering a second uunit for basement tv. [ JOE  Dec 11, 2014 ]
It comes with an optical audio cable to hook to your new TV that will provide you with audio. As far as independent control, that depends on how you have it set up... There is a remote included for full independent control, but I have mine volume and mute set up to my Direct TV remote. The good thing about this sound bar is it can learn whatever input signal you want to use to change volume and what not. The soundbar turns on when it gets an input and will turn off when there is no more audio being pushed to it from your device or TV. At any point you can turn the sound bar down, then turn the TV up if you dont need it. Hope that answer is of some help. [ JOSEPH  Dec 10, 2014 ]
For details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation. [ Greg  Sep 01, 2014 ]  Staff
Not sure what model your TV is and how old it is. You can purchased a universal remote at any retail store. Walmart, Target, etc. If you want something more what you are looking for on a higher end unit, check with Crutchfield. Dan [ DAN  Aug 06, 2014 ]
You will need to contact Klispch to get a replacement remote. You can reach them at 1-800-KLIPSCH [ Jeff  Jul 29, 2014 ]  Staff
The SB1 does not have any tone or eq controls. [ STEPHEN R  Jun 02, 2014 ]
No, the SB1 does not have treble/EQ controls on the remote or otherwise. The volume control increases/decreases incrementally, with no fine control, but the increments seem to work out OK. The sub has its own volume control located on the sub. The sound is absolutely great - I especially like the 3D surround mode for both TV and music - I don't know how they do it. [ CHARLES C  May 28, 2014 ]
No, it does not. I have adjusted at the source whether it is TV or receiver. Has great sound with wonderful low tones. [ LEO A  May 28, 2014 ]
No they do not have EQ Controls. Just subwoofer min/max volume control. [ AMANTE  May 28, 2014 ]

Brian, mine is in a room approximately 17'x20'x9'. It works great. I have a higher end sound bar in another room and I prefer the sound quality of the SB-1 to the more expensive one. Good luck. [ JEFFREY  Apr 02, 2014 ]
Thanks everybody...went ahead and pulled the trigger. This should be great from what i am hearing for my simple living room. [ Brian  Apr 02, 2014 ]
Brian, put this in our lower level media viewing area which is about the same size with 9 foot ceilings. We have a 65" Samsung and the sound quality from the Klipsch so far has bee nothing short of impressive. Not the same as a complete home theatre system, but much better than the standard speakers for movies or regular T.V. viewing. [ Kevin  Apr 02, 2014 ]
We have a similar size room with 20' high ceilings and the sound is fantastic. I would recommend this set to anyone. [ KEVIN  Apr 02, 2014 ]
Hey Brian, This size room is definitely NOT too big. Mine is about the same size and I absolutely LOVE it. I only have the bass up 1/2 way cause I'm afraid I'll disturb my neighbors w/it all the way up. It will literally vibrate the floor across the room. Feels like I'm in a movie theater most of the time. I say pull the trigger, you won't be sorry! ;) ~Rae [ RAE  Apr 02, 2014 ]
SB 1 has not been installed. When I do, will follow up. [ David  Apr 02, 2014 ]
Your TV should have an optical out (fiber optic) or analog out (red & white RCA). Either output source from your TV to the sound bar will work. Whatever source the TV is showing should send the sound to to sound bar. [ BRIAN G  Jul 08, 2014 ]
I not sure what issue you have, but I've a Smart TV, I connected the DVR box to the TV with a HDMI cable, Connected the optical TV output to the Soundbar optical input, turned off the internal speakers. Everything audio plays thru the soundbar. [ JOHN H  Apr 03, 2014 ]
The sound bar works great on my Samsung Smart TV. I connect the smart TV to the internet and play movies through the Amazon app without any sound problem. I have a Netflix app as well but don't subscribe, It should work the same. [ Allan  Mar 20, 2014 ]
The sound will still go through the TV. Your set up in the tv needs to be switched to sound bar. [ STANLEY J.  Mar 20, 2014 ]
The optical is hooked up to the TV so watching Netflix through the bar is not a problem. I do it now. There can be a lag/echo sometimes with the sound at the beginning dependent on the transfer speed. That goes away in a few minutes. [ William  Mar 20, 2014 ]
I am not sure what you mean by a smart TV. I have a 60" Sharp Aquos with built-in WiFi including Netflix. The Klipsch Icon SB-1 has two types of inputs. It has a digital optical audio input and stereo RCA phono plug inputs. I connected the digital optical cable directly to my television and I get sound from all applications including Netflix. FYI - when you set up the SB-1, you first couple your television remote to the soundbar. Your television remote then controls the volume of the audio coming from the soundbar. It took a couple of attempts for the soundbar to learn the signal from my remote, but once it did, it worked fine. I hope this answered your question. [ RICHARD W  Mar 20, 2014 ]
I Know nothing about Sonos, I not sure what you mean by network, my optical cable goes between the TV output & the SB1 input. The speaker system is decent I would give it 4 **** , the remote should be redesigned, it's too small easy to lose, and hard to tune into a desirable volume level. [ JOHN H  Mar 08, 2014 ]
All you have to do is plug and play. [ JOE D  Mar 08, 2014 ]
Optical to any source that accepts optical. Ours goes from bar to tv. Could go to receiver, cable box, etc. Component ports and cables also an option. [ JIM  Mar 07, 2014 ]
If you have it hooked up to a smart tv you don't. You access your network through there. There is no wifi or network cables on the system itself. [ William  Mar 07, 2014 ]
Nope, it doesn't. I just got one and it is only hooked up to my TV. For what it's worth, the sound is great. I'm very pleased with it. [ MEREDITH  Mar 07, 2014 ]
Travis I am not familiar with that system so I did read up on it and it seemed all it confirmed was the sonos will play what ever sound was put into it. In that case the will play anything hooked up to it or thru the tv. [ STANLEY J.  Mar 07, 2014 ]
I have my SB-1 connected to my television with the digital optical cable. When you turn the TV on, the SB-1 detects the signal from the television and automatically comes on. When you shut the TV off, the soundbar dies not shut off. It shuts off automatically after a few minutes of not detecting sound from your television. [ RICHARD W  Mar 20, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: You can program this sound bar with your new Samsung remote control. With this, you can power it on/off, turn up/down the volume, and mute the sound bar. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Mar 09, 2014 ]  Staff
2:1 you will have tell the tv you have a soundbar [ STANLEY J.  Mar 07, 2014 ]
This is a powered sound bar/sub. It should play whatever you have coming out. I don't think the Blu-ray can process the sound, so pre-amp through the TV. [ DANIEL M  Mar 04, 2014 ]
It's not 5.1. For real surround sound you need a different amplifier. This is a very good, inexpensive shelf system for a small room, but wonderful for that. [ RICHARD  Feb 26, 2014 ]
No Bluetooth capabilities. It would be the perfect soundbar if it did! [ Kelly  Jan 13, 2014 ]
    No [ Bob  Jan 10, 2014 ]
The Klipsch SB-1 soundbar does not have native bluetooth capabilities. An alternative option is to get an RCA (red-white) to 3.5mm headphone adapter to plug your device into the soundbar. Likewise, a bluetooth 3.5mm headphone dongle may be a possibility. You can't beat the sound on this soundbar for the price, very happy with my purchase! [ JOSEPH  Jan 10, 2014 ]
    No. [ STANLEY J.  Jan 10, 2014 ]
    Don't Know [ BRIAN C  Jan 10, 2014 ]
    It does not. [ Allan  Jan 10, 2014 ]
If the TV sits on a pedestal base you could place a piece of wood, e.g., a 2x8 or 2x10 cut to length to support the base. I have the same issue and have been thinking of that as a solution. I need to raise mine about 2 inches. [ EDWARD L  Jan 07, 2014 ]
I used the least expensive hockey pucks i could find; stacked 2 under each foot of the stand. [ PAUL F  Jan 06, 2014 ]
I have my soundbar sitting on my mantle and my tv mounted on the chimney you only need 4 1/2" clearance . I would start with the tv first . Put it comfortably viewable and go from there . There are only two wires to hide , the power and the optical. Good luck! [ JEFFREY  Jan 06, 2014 ]
You may wish to determine if the soundbar can attach to the mounting bracket directly. Ours did. The kit included a small shelf-like device that facilitated the mounting of the sound bar to the frame. Les [ LES R  Jan 06, 2014 ]
    This system does have a built-in amplifier. [ Jeff  Dec 10, 2013 ]  Staff
I believe only 110v. For me it was just plug into a 110v outlet and turn it on. Highly recommend this sound bar. Everyone who heard it thinks it's the best they've heard. [ JOE  Dec 03, 2013 ]
I looked on the back of the subwoofer and it supports up to 240V so I can only assume the soundbar does as well. I can't readily access the power supply on the bar to confirm, but I am fairly certain you will be fine at 220V. [ ROBERT  Dec 02, 2013 ]
I do not know but do not recall seeing a voltage selector on the back. [ LEO A  Dec 02, 2013 ]
Yes. The SB1 power suppy looks like the type that is used for laptop computers and is marked "INPUT 110-240 V 50-60 HZ 1.5 A". The AC supply cord is the type for North America with a two blade NEMA plug on one end, and an IEC "C8" plug on the other end that connects to the power supply. This very common C8 type cord can be replaced with one that matches the power outlet standard in your country. Search on Google for "Klipsch Sb1 quick start" to see a very rough drawing of the SB1 power supply on page 2. [ Kent  Dec 02, 2013 ]
Not sure. It has a transformer that plugs into the power but I am not sure if it handles both 110 and 220. [ MARK J  Dec 02, 2013 ]
