Cube Design: Definitive Technology's Cube tabletop Bluetooth
loudspeaker makes a strong visual impression with its bold, minimalist compact
shape that easily tucks into the corner of your kitchen counter, bookshelf, or
Tri-Polar Speaker Technology: Combining built-in amplifiers, digital
signal processing, bass-reflex enclosure, and speaker components in a "Tri-Polar" configuration, the
Cube is able to produce impressive bass and spacious imaging. Tri-polar
Technology employs speakers on two sides and on the top of the enclosure in a
"Tri-Polar" configuration. Two left and right 1.25" mid/high-frequency speakers,
at a 90° angle to each other on opposite
sides of the cabinet, create a much wider soundstage with a greater sense of
stereo separation. The top mounted drivers include a 5.25" midbass woofer and a
1.25" mid/high-frequency driver that fire upward. These speakers add powerful
bass and a sense of image height.
Bluetooth Audio Streaming w/ AptX: The Definitive Technology Cube
supports Bluetooth A2DP/AVRCP which allows you to wirelessly stream audio from your
Bluetooth-enabled Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Blackberry,
laptop/computer, etc.. You'll be able to stream stored music or music apps from
your Bluetooth-enabled device. The Cube employs AptX audio coding technology for
lossless, audiophile-quality streaming with compatible AptX-compatible phones.
You can even control basic playback functions (such as Play/Pause) from the Cube
speaker.Advanced music navigation
and song/artist information will still be handled by your Bluetooth-enabled device.
Simple Pairing: The Cube pairs wirelessly and effortlessly with
Bluetooth enabled devices with a single press of a button. Bluetooth-enabled
devices (like Android) that have Near Field Communication (NFC) are even easier
to pair with; simply touch the device to the Cube and they're paired. Once
paired, the Cube will automatically re-connect to your device when within range
(up to 33').
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some
Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not
support all features when used with the Definitive Technology Cube.
Auxiliary Input: The Cube Bluetooth speaker is also fitted
with a 3.5mm auxiliary input to connect virtually any non-Bluetooth portable
audio device with a headphone output.
USB Charging Port: The Definitive Technology Cube features a
USB (type-A) port used to charge your smartphone or other USB-enabled portable
audio device. You can choose to power your device using either AC or battery
power. However, charging with battery power will reduce battery life. If
batteries are already weak, the USB connection will not charge your device. This
USB port does not support audio playback.
Rechargeable Battery + AC Power: AC household current powers the Cube,
but it also has a built-in rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. While plugged in to
AC power, the Cube charges the internal Li-ion power pack (takes approximately 3
hours to acquire a full charge). When you want to take
the wireless speaker to another room of your house, simply unplug the power cord
and carry it anywhere you want full-fidelity sound for up to 8 hours of
battery-powered listening (at moderate listening levels).
Carry Handle: A handy notch on the back of the Cube makes it easy to
pick up and move.
