Our take on the Definitive Technology ProMount 90

Sturdy, articulating wall-mount brackets

Wall mount your compatible Definitive Technology center or surround speaker for easy, out-of-the-way placement. The ProMount 90 swivels 180°, giving you plenty of aim and flexibility. Your speakers attach to the brackets using the speakers' threaded inserts. It's designed to work with Definitive's ProMonitor 600, ProMonitor 800, ProMonitor 1000, Mythos Gems, Mythos Gem XLs, ProCenter 600 (requires two mounts), and ProCenter 1000 (requires two mounts). It's also compatible with all speakers equipped with a 1/4"-20 threaded insert.

This looks to be the best way to mount my DT 800 speakers high on the wall. Very sturdy and color matches speaker. Best to long screws when mounting since speaker weigh about 4 pounds.

Overview: The Definitive Technology ProMount 90 articulating wall-mount speaker bracket is intended for use with select Definitive Technology ProMonitor, ProCenter, Mythos Gem, and GM XL loudspeakers, or similar loudspeakers with a 1/4"-20 thread receptacles. Each bracket can support up to 10 lbs (4.5 kg). You will need two ProMount 90 brackets with the ProCenter 1000 and ProCenter 2000 center-channels speakers.

Note: The ProMount 90 is packaged in pairs.

Articulating Mount: The ProMount 90 features a ball-and-socket assembly which allows you to swivel, rotate, and angle your mounted speaker in the direction you need it. The ProMount 90 also features a security screw which tightens the ball-and-socket assembly to hold your speaker in place once its facing the direction you want.

Installation: The ProMount 90 attaches to the 1/4"-20 threaded insert on the back of your speaker. Each mounting bracket features two integrated screw holes which are used to mount the bracket to your wall (using optional wood-screws). The Definitive Technology bracket mounts the speaker approximately 2.9375" away from the wall.

I need these wall mounts for my pro cinema 600 speakers that I am about to install on my boat. I only wish that when I ordered them from Crutchfield initially, that they would have been offered at the time of purchase. For instance while placing that order the wall mounts are offered automatically for purchase also. I had to search other sites to even learn that they are available. Thanks. [ James  Feb 22, 2017 ]

Because it will allow for better positioning of the speakers in my room. The ProMount 80 appear to allow for the speakers to point in only one direction. These will allow me to point the speakers at my seating area. [ Michael  Dec 01, 2016 ]

I looked at mine this morning. It is impossible to measure at the middle while it is on the wall because of the protruding piece. The middle is wider than the ends because it is really a hexagon, not a rectangle. The narrow width on the ends is just 2" but my guess is that the middle is exactly 2 1/4" so your space may be a teensy bit tight. Also, you need some room for the speaker itself since the attachment piece is not terribly big. I like the mount because it is very discreet for a small speaker, but sounds as if it will be a tight fit. [ Melanie  Jan 20, 2017 ]
2" wide 4" tall and hardware holes are 3 1/2" apart [ David  Jan 20, 2017 ]
2-1/4" wide by 3-1/2" high [ JOSEPH  Jan 20, 2017 ]
I checked a picture of the PRO 600, and it appears to accept a standard bolt, the same one as the Pro 90 mount uses. The PRO 90 mount can easily handle the weight of the PRO 600. My educated guess is that the PRO 90 mount will work just fine on the PRO 600, since they are very similar speakers. [ NEAL  May 07, 2016 ]
ProMount 90 construction is strong and solid, and hold speakers of double the weight of the ones in Procinema 600 speakers. They are very easy to install and angulate if needed. Excellent product. [ JOSE A  Jan 29, 2015 ]
I installed definitive bipolar speakers. They look good on the wall with these mounts . I don't know about pro cinema speakers . [ HAR  Jan 28, 2015 ]
I have used these to 'hang' Definitive Technology Pro1000 monitors from the ceiling. I did throw away to mounting screws and went to Home Deopt and purchased a package of self-drilling drywall anchors with 100 lb capacity. A little overkill, but better safe than sorry. [ JAMES  Dec 26, 2013 ]
These holders are excellent for ceiling speakers. I used them to hold two light weight Def Tech speakers and two old heavy weight speakers and both has work fine. They are very strong and vary easy to install at the same time. Recom: for heavy weight speakers use slightly divergent drilling for expansions and screws. [ JOSE A  Dec 22, 2013 ]
Great, I ordered 4. I'm hanging PM-1000s with these mounts. They're supposed to be speced out for their weight. Thank you for your response. [ Ed  Dec 22, 2013 ]

Great mounts. Depends on weight of speakers [ MICHAEL T  Dec 21, 2013 ]
Yes, I mounted two speakers inside a Stickey mission oak cabinet. Plenty of angle adjustment. Just make sure you're not too tight in a corner to mount the plate or tighten the ball clamp. [ MICHAEL  Dec 21, 2013 ]
Ed, I have two of these mounts mounted on a wall secured to wall studs tilted toward the T.V with the Mythos Gem speakers which weigh about 4.5 pounds. Depending on what speakers you plan on using, I would think they would work very well in a ceiling mount application. [ STANLEY  Dec 21, 2013 ]
Yeah, that's my question. Are they a practical application for what I'm trying to use them for? I have no doubt they're sturdy enough, but I'm not sure they will be long enough to allow the articulation. I'm looking for alternative mounts also, so if you know of any others out there, please let me know. Thank you for your response, Christopher. [ Ed  Dec 21, 2013 ]
I attached mine to the wall, with that being said they are very sturdy mounts and should have no problems with a ceiling installation through a stud. The only issue may be the articulation possible. [ CHRISTOPHER  Dec 21, 2013 ]
Those will not work with the Yamaha Natural Sound NS-AW150 outdoor speakers that we sell. Those speakers need mounts that attach to the sides on it's back and that mount then attaches to the wall.
