What's in the Box:

  • 62mm Hoya EVO antistatic UV(0) filter

Nice filter - not much to say - Always had good results with Hoya Looking forward to the anti-static glass, always nice if you don't have to touch the glass as much to clean.

Very Poor First Impression

Lorin from Riverside, CA on 1/6/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Received today, and until today, I don't recall ever having to clean a camera filter out of the pack. There was much debris from the packing on the glass. Once cleaned (the anti-static feature seemed absent or just useless) three imperfections in the glass glistened like little diamonds, they could not be removed with what should be considered an adequate attempt. Seemed like flaws in the coating. The lens was packed loosely, floating and banging around in the case. Something else I have never experienced with my usual brand or any other brand. Having ordered about 20 filters and polarizers over the years, I have never seen a filter delivered in this condition.

Pros: None

Cons: Have to return for a refund. Very inconvenient.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted something to protect my lens, with as little optical degradation as possible. The anti-static feature was a "bonus". So far protection and image quality have been great, and it does seem to repel dust better than a cheap UV Filter I had previously used. I now own three of these for different lenses.

This Anti-Static UV Filter WORKS! Does NOT collect dust or pollen in the field.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

One of the most essential additions to the camera is a terrific lens. Yet, without choosing a well-ground filter you can miss out on the full potential of your photos.. The Hoya antistatic UV lens is the best that you can get !

Pros: The Hoya EVO antistatic filters feature a coating that repels dust. The filter has a hardened antistatic top layer that is water-repellant, stain and scratch resistant, and is easy to clean. Ultra-violet filters UV(0) filter out unwanted ultra-violet rays before they reach the image sensor, reducing haze and increasing clarity.

Cons: None !

Q & A

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

I always use high-grade protective filters for my lenses (after a bad experience!); it just doesn't make sense, however, to spend top dollar on top-quality lenses & then degrade them w/ cheap filters. Plus, these are made in Japan, are multi-coated, & I believe they're among the finest available that I can afford. [ WILLIAM  Mar 16, 2016 ]
I chose the Hoya EVO Antistatic UV Filter to protect my lens. [ Kirsten  Mar 06, 2016 ]

Protect the lens from dings scratches and dust [ DANA R  Dec 13, 2016 ]
Kind of a no brainier as this will save the much more expensive lens if certain things happen. [ LANCE  Jul 02, 2016 ]
Very nice filter. Purchase this filter a second time/same model after dropping my lens. Never had to clean the filter of dust. Anti-static properties work as described. Not to mention no degradation to image quality. [ Stanley  Aug 21, 2017 ]

The HOYA digital filter kit I purchased was made in the Philippines by Tokina Co. LTD. HOYA is a trademark of HOYA Corporation in Japan. [ Donald  Jul 06, 2015 ]
Yes, it indicates that it is made in Japan along the ring of the filter. Hope the info was helpful. [ Eleazar  Jun 29, 2015 ]
Yes - Mine is. So far it has been really good in repelling dust and pollen - there always will be some, but so far this is the best UV Filter I have ever used. [ ABI J  Jun 29, 2015 ]
I just looked at the container the filter came in and yes-it was made in Japan. [ JANE M  Jun 28, 2015 ]
