Our take on the Lowepro D-Wrap™

Lowepro's slim D-wrap provides easy accessibility and full-time protection for your digital camera. It stays securely attached using the built-in plate with a threaded key that screws into the tripod mount on the bottom of your camera. The stretchy neoprene fabric then folds around the body of your camera to keep it safe while not in use. To use, just unwrap it and shoot — all buttons and functions are completely accessible — then wrap it up and tuck it away in a purse or bag.

D-Wrap is delightful

Written by Ralph Graves, Staff Writer - Creative, on 8/13/2012 12:00:00 PM

This is so simple I almost didn't understand it. But when I tried the D-Wrap out with my little point-and-shoot, I not only got it, but resolved to get it once I was through with the testing.

The D-Wrap wraps itself around the camera and has a Velcro® flap to keep it closed. The wraps is attached to the camera's tripod mount. The design solves two problems I had with my current camera case. With the D-Wrap, I just open the flap, and I'm ready to start shooting. Because the wrap is attached to the bottom of the camera, it just hangs down, out of the way. Much better than unzipping a case, fishing out the camera, then getting it ready to shoot.

The second problem it solves is what to do with the case. I don't have to decide whether to put the camera back (and risk losing some shots) in the case, or jamming the case in my pocket and carrying around an unprotected camera in hopes of catching something. The wrap's attached to the camera, so I don't need an extra hand (or pocket) to store it. Brilliant!
