Sound Ordnance designed the B-17 bandpass subwoofer to be the bass fortress in your vehicle's sound system. Its 12" polypropylene woofer is mounted inside a sturdy enclosure, between an airtight sealed chamber and a second chamber that boasts a generous slot port for massive air movement. This bandpass design increases speaker efficiency, for impressive bass firepower from a relatively small box. Best of all, you can watch the woofer swing into action behind the clear acrylic front window.
The heavy-duty speaker terminals provide excellent connections, and the rugged black carpet cover with the Sound Ordnance logo lets your competition know you mean business. And you'll have extra peace of mind with Sound Ordnance's 3-year warranty behind your investment. Add a suitable amplifier, mount the system safely in your trunk or cargo area, and get ready for a bass barrage.

Very solid hard hitting sounding bass for the size, sounds and feels like more then one sub!
Great buy for the money and it looks good....made a big difference compared to my flat box...highly recommend...the only con is you lose space
Best. Sub and thumpfor the $$$$$
Pros: Easy to install
This subwoofer is great. It is aesthetically beautiful. It can also put out some thumping bass. But any bass below 40hz isn't picked up so we'll. However it does put out some great mid-range bass and very loudly at that. If you listen to mostly hip hop, then this is a great sub for you
Pros: Great for hip hop Looks very good Nice loud bass
Cons: Not great for low frequency bass
It's been a little over a year and I am still amazed by the tight, punchy, smooth and accurate bass that this sub produces. I enjoy sitting in my car and just jamming all types of music. I primarily listen to hip-hop and r&b but no matter what I play this sub reproduces the low frequencies so well. I'm powering it with a 350 watt mono amp and loving the thump I get. I'm definitely going to upgrade to the B-24 once I make some room (Mazda3 hatchback) but the B-17 sounds so good I'm not in any hurry.
Pros: Accurate bass response. More punch than you would expect. Construction is also great.
Had this for a couple days now and still cannot believe the low price! Also cannot believe the bad reviews! I'm powering this with an old amp. AB crossover style. 4 ohm @ 300 watts RMS! This sub slams! Perfect bass! Nothing missing! No bad sounds! Insanely intense for one 12!
Pros: Low price! High quality! Perfect size and weight! Looks amazing and sounds even better!
Cons: Highly addictive! Will have you wasting lots of money on music!
Reviews are what sell, and I'd definitely say that this is worth the money. Sound Ordnance products have my vote, I'd buy from them again. If I were to have any space left in my trunk I would have bought the B-24 box with two 12s, but this will still make your rear view mirror shake so much you can't see anything out of it.
Pros: Coolest looking enclosure I've seen, great quality for price, sounds very nice
Cons: Very low bass doesn't hit as hard
Not too many Bandpass boxes in the market, but I must say that out of the few bandpass subwoofers I have owned the Sound Ordnance B-17 is a top choice quality.
Pros: Nice deep tight Hard hitting undistorted bass ! Handles the power pushed by my amp easily without a fault !
Cons: Bulky construction. Not exactly a space saver.
I bought one of these and paired it with a Sound Ordnance M-1500 mono amp. The subwoofer is in my trunk and it didn't quite have the bass I was hoping for, possibly because of the trunk, and I would have to turn up the bass boost which made the bass way too boomy. So I bought a second B-17 and hooked it into the M-1500 as well. It has a solid kick now with zero bass boost. In fact, it now easily overpowers my door speakers (4 Sound Ordnance 5x7's) powered off the deck and I'm considering buying a second amp to power them. For anyone wondering, because the M-1500 is mono, how I connected that up, I just plugged the second subwoofer into the extra terminals and it worked fine. They sell a box with 2 of B-17's in them, but because of my trunk opening and the size of these monsters, I don't think I would have been able to easily fit it in like I can with two separate boxes.
Pros: Solid build, good connectors, a good solid kick, and it's very affordable.
Cons: It seems to be centered around 45hz and I notice that even though it will rattle your lungs, it doesn't have that really deep/low bass I enjoy. I used to have a $300 sealed enclosure 15" sub 20 years ago and it was louder and deeper than two B-17's combined. To be fair though, that $300 sub would probably run $500 today and these two 12" B-17's cost less. So if you're looking for that ultimate earth shattering deep bass, these may not be for you.
I purchased this Subwoofer back in November 2015, and I was taken away by how awesome it sounded. Lots of BOOM! This would be my 3rd subwoofer owned, and by far the best sounding out of all of them. However, 6 months later in May it dies on me. A bit surprising that it only lasted 6 months, i figured I just had a bad one and called Crutchfield. The subwoofer luckily comes with a 3 year warranty and they sent me a brand new one instantly. I was very pleased by how fast my replacement had came. It came within 2 days and I was back to bumping my sub. I even adjusted my amp so that so much power wouldn't be coming out the sub, but just enough for some good bass. Now 2 almost 3 months later It Blows Out Again!! I'm glad this thing has such a great warranty because they're sending me another one now. But I am not happy by how durable this thing is. I'm giving it one more chance before I look for another subwoofer. I am in love by the quality of sound it produces, but just wish it would last...
Pros: Great Sounding Sub. Lots of Bass for you to feel. And 3 Year Warranty. Crutchfield also has great customer service to take care of you for when this thing fails lol.
Cons: Terrible quality. Possibly cheaply made. Haven't taken it out the box so don't know to be honest. Doesn't last long..
Excellent subwoofer for the money. I purchased this as a replacement for a JL Audio dual 10" sealed box. I mostly listen to electronic/dance music and drive the unit with a 150W JL Audio amp. The ported design delivers a good amount of oomph. I actually like it better than my old sub though listeners that prefer a tighter musical bass will be disappointed. Not sure you can do much better for the price point. The build is solid though the carpet grade and plywood is a bit lighter duty than you might get from a more expensive enclosure.
Pros: Small footprint leaves space in your trunk, reasonable price, good oomph for dance/electronic/rap bass heavy music. Good output from lower wattage amplifiers. Plexi-glass enclosure protects driver. Speaker is better construction than one would expect for the price point.
Cons: Rolling bass not suited for more traditional musical listening.
I absolutely love my new speakers!! i was a lil nervous about the size of my car and how the sound would come together, but it is perfect.
Pros: Nice bass Still have plenty space in trunk
Cons: Haven't discovered any yet
Pros: Good sound Good base
It sound very good , More than I expected. It sounds as good as a lot of other speaker boxes that I'v had. for the money its a good buy
Pros: sounds very good more then I expected. very good for the price.
Cons: Its bigger than thought. It takes up a lot of space in the trunk.
great speaker Just got this and installed it yesterday I have been driving around for fun with it and cant enjoy it enough
Pros: easy to set up
Cons: a little big
Excellent sub for the price. Decent range. Solid build. Hits like a train.
Pros: Compact. Hard hitting.
If your looking for clean bass at a great price then you will not be disappointed with the B-17. Sits nicely in the back of my 4-runner and fills the air with tons of low end bass. It will Connect to any amp and bump and bounce. If you have a crossover then any music will be complete!
Put this in my Chevy Spark Hatchback. I must have over guesstimated the size of my little trunk because this sub is a little bit too big. But I made it work and it really does put out the bass I was looking for. It rattles about everything in my car turned up but your neighbors won't feel it though I'm sure they can hear it. I have it paired with the Sound Ordinance M-1350 amp and they really do work well together. They sub also looks pretty cool stuffed in my hatchback. :] Overall I'm very happy with this setup and for the price you cannot beat this quality subwoofer.
Pros: Powerful bass, great looks, great price
Cons: None at all
Amazing subwoffer. Had to turn down my bass. The bass is so strong it's pushing my back through the seat. Sh*t is shaking in my car with the solid deep bass. Unbelievable sound. Thank you Sound ordinance for helping us poor people listen to amazing music! Do have a kenwood player, polk components, and a sound ordinance amp, the smaller one. I don't know what will happen if i play my system to its recommended limit? Only tried half way limit so far. I think my small car will break if I max it. Thanks again. Great product! Looking forward to buying many sound ordinance products in the future.
Cons: None at all.
This is a great subwoofer. It hits pretty hard and it plays pretty deep. I have it in my ford f250 super cab and it is pretty good in there however it does not play loud enough to rattle the other cars around you. If you want a subwoofer this is a great product for 100$ but it is not crazy loud and will not produce a feeling where you feel t while standing outside of your car. So if you want some serious bass pay some more money for a different sub but for the price it is fantastic. And it looks cooler then almost any other sub
Pros: deep hits pretty hard low price looks awesome
Cons: not that loud Not that big of a box
This sub replaces the Sound Ordinance B-8P that I purchased before. I really liked that sub so I was pretty confident that this sub would rock. I received this sub exactly when it was promised. I also bought a Rockford Fosgate R600x5 a 1 farad capacitor and a 4GA amp wiring kit. I installed all of it. It was really easy. I adjusted the amp per the instructions and played some music. The bass is unbelievable. It hits so hard you feel it in your chest. If you have one of these sub's and pull up behind a car, be prepared to have them look back. You can feel the bass 2 cars away. The craftsmenship is top notch. The glass front is great protection for the speaker and a great way to show it off. This is a great addition to any top notch sound system.
Pros: Compact size. Low price. Excellent craftsmanship. Superior sound quality.
I purchased a Sound Ordinance amplifier in the past, and haven't had any issues with it. So I figured I would give this B17 sub a try. It looks really cool in person. Build quality looks good. I paired it with a Boss R1100M amplifier. It thumps pretty good. In fact it overpowers my regular speakers. I have to play with the radio settings to find the right balance in the sound. For the money that I spent, I'm very happy with the purchase so far.
Pros: Cool looking Sounds good Nice low price for all in one package
Cons: No cons to list
I had a Bazooka BTA10100 in my Tundra Crew Max for about 2 months and this B-17 blows that Bazooka away! I paired it with the M-1500 and this sub hits nice! It's been 4-5 years since I've had a subwoofer in any vehicle I was driving and thought the Bazooka would suffice but alas I was disappointed. I'm used to running 2 to 3 JL Audio 10w0's at once so I know what good bass is and this B-17 gets the job done! Works and sounds great with my factory stock radio system (non JBL) and I couldn't be happier!
Great hard hitting bass for the price. Paired it with Sound Ordnance M-1500 amp and I could not be happier. Great combo!! Had a few issues with the install and Crutchfield advisors help me through them. Thank you Crutchfield.
Pros: Quality Bass Great Price Great Appearance
Great speaker box!!
Using a s part of my office computer sound system. Sounds great.
Pros: Clean looks and good sound.
These subs should be more money bcuz they perform like pro speakers....I have them in my 09 accord sedan. I didnt even put the bass up i Left it the minimum and it still bumps beautifully. I love and trust me people hear u coming so no complains at all and also the bass that it produces is so clear dude its not like a distorted nasty sound its a boom but with out the rattling
Pros: Clear deep rich sounding bass
Cons: None at all
Okay first off, the sub and box is GREAT! If you want a ton of bass then this isn't for you. Get the b-24 if that's the case. If you want to hear the bass and not drown out the music then get this sub! It sounds very clear when tunned correctly. It hits decently hard but it isn't going to rattle the car next to you by any means. Sound Ordinance is a fantastic brand and it carries a great warranty. I'm happy with the sound and I enjoy this sub!
Pros: Everything above. Note- If I could go back I would get the b-24. You can always turn a sub down if it's too loud. But all subs peak at some point, in this case, it may not be loud enough.
Cons: While I was breaking the sub in, it tended to rattle. I couldn't get the sub to the level that I wanted without that rattle coming. After about two weeks I readjusted my amp, the m-1500, and it's more clear now. Just break the sub in and the better the sound will get.
sounds really nice with any type of music. super easy to set up and the build is really nice. it looks great in my car and doesn't take up a whole lot of space(i have a geo metro hatcback). this thing thumps and rumbles(even more when hooked up to an amp) and i didnt have to spend a whole paycheck on it.
Pros: size and power, sounds good, look cool, easy to use
Well built, very nice looking, ready-out-of-the-box sub for this money is difficult to come by - making it a great value. I like bass of all kinds, but I expect it to be accurate for the type of music I'm listening too. This thing only goes "boom" and I find it only useful for rap or some club music. Anything else, fugedaboutit....your ears will be disappointed.
Well, the thing was broken right out of the box, which caused a lot of havoc and confusion until I isolated the sub as the issue. Waiting on a new one, so I'll give it a proper review when it ships. From what I can tell, everything about the product is great. Style, quality of build, and value are definitely high up there. We'll see how the sound quality is, but obviously that has to wait
Pros: So far, it just looks pretty. Big enough to anchor even large amps on the side and not interfere.
Cons: Broken out of box (hopefully fixed soon), also kind of tall for my trunk.
Never owned a sub, till now. Now i have all the bass i need ,for the price and sounds great.
Pros: Well made, sounds great and the cost was in my range.
I just installed this system today, it hits great for $130. Bought the m-2250 to go along with it. I am pleased with the look and quaty. If you have a small space wouldn't recommend that amp... But would recommend this bass!!
I did not truly understand the type of enclosure this was, and what type of sound it will produce. Some 10 months later, I call Crutchfield back as I still can't get a good sound that I am looking for. Come to find out, this bandpass enclosure is good for vibrating the car basically. It does do that pretty good. The sound is not responsive to the power given to the speaker. I understand now that the vibrating blury sound is what is to be expected from this speaker. Needless to say, I have another speaker enclosure on it's way to me. The enclosure is built well and construction is on par for a nice unit, just not the sound that I want.
Pros: Nice appearance and quality build of compartment
Cons: The sound out of this type of enclosure
Bought this as a present for my son. I paired it with the M-1500 AMP based on recommendations in the reviews. I have to say that he's pretty pleased with it. I was initially disappointed by the amount of "hit" that we initially got out of it. But once he got the 20 hour break in done, it seemed to give a little more thump. I do wish the lower end frequency was lower but 40 Hz isn't bad. The box size is bigger than I though but it looks nice installed.
Pros: Sounds good after the break in period, look pretty good in the trunk of my son's 2012 Civic.
Cons: Takes up half of the 2012 Civic's trunk, frequency range could be greater
I had been looking for a sub to replace my MTX 12"( I purchased from Crutchfield back in 2006!) for a couple months. I loved the original price and thought based on the reviews it had tremendous value. Then on November 21st my MTX sub blew out!! I get an email from Crutchfield about their Black Friday sales. Long behold this bad boy on sale for like 1 or 2 days!!! What are the chances! Either price was great, because I think the quality of these subs is well worth $150-$175. Plus free shipping? Thats like making a cake and eating it too.
Pros: Awesome quality, great lows, solid highs, such an overachiever.
Cons: I thought it'd be smaller, but still good!
I put this box in a 93 Durango behind the third seat row and was perfect fit in the area. I had just enough room between the seat and hatch door. I have 210 Watts rms pushing the sub and I couldn't expect any more from it. Sound quality is great, there is plenty of bass for the buck and the box looks cool !
Pros: I Like the enclosed sub woofer it keeps it in good shape and I like the sound quality that the box has
Cons: It does not have a handle or hand hold built into it
Excellent sound for such a great price. Its band pass so it doesn't need as much power as regular ported/sealed boxes. Bigger than I thought but I like it!!
Many of my buddies laughed at me when I first told them I ordered a "Sound Ordinance" subwoofer mainly because it isn't a well known brand. Boy did I prove them wrong. This thing is amazing! I have it hooked up with the SO M-1350 amplifier, and I couldn't be happier. For being a low wattage subwoofer, this thing hits incredibly hard! It lets off a deep sounding bass that's enough to rattle your neighbor's stuff. Also, it's just great to look at! The acrylic window is a wonderful addition because you don't need to worry about what you're throwing into your trunk, the subwoofer is well protected! In conclusion, the B-17 is a wonderful addition to any car. It's easy on the eyes and amazing on the ears, 5 stars hands down!
Buy this amp and this sub-woofer.
Im really not impressed with the sound qaulity of this speaker. It does look good and is very well constructed but I definitely would not reccommend this set up to anyone who is looking for low, crisp, deep bass.
Pros: well constructed, dynamic look, cost efficient
Cons: poor sound qaulity (doesnt carry low bass lines, easily distorts)
After reading all the positive reviews I decided to purchase this sub. I wasn't "Blown away" but it sounds really good for the price. I don't think you can find a better sounding sub enclosure for less. I push it to the max too. 500. I'm three weeks in and it still sounds good. Impressive. I would recommend this to anyone who is trying to upgrade sounds for cheap. Oh, I live in Maryland and got it the next day for free! You can't beat that.
Pros: Well built, cheap, great sound!
Cons: Misses Lows, almost non existant
Only reason i give 4 stars is because its bigger than I though, above the line of the seats, and barely hides under the back cover.
So I baught this sub when I seen it went on sale and said why not. I have had only kicker in the past, but am very impressed with this sub. I really didn't want to go with the bandpass mostly because of the look of it, but for the money you really can't get much better then this. I have it hooked up to a Kenwood KAC-9104D with a Kicker wiring kit. If you are looking for a take the person driving next to you breaths away this isn't the sub, but if you are looking for something that really good in the car for you and your company, then this is the sub for you. Real good bass for the price. And a lot lighter then I thought it would be.Would recommend to anyone.
Pros: Good quality, build and sound, for the price.
Cons: Non yet
Deep, loud bass that sounds great. First sub lasted 7 months, crutchfield replaced it and the second one just broke after 6 months. Listen to lots of dubstep, drum n bass, reggae and other bass music tho so to be fair I do put the subs under a lot of stress. Definetly worth the value
got this sub for my wife its her first system and it hits hard got it hooked to a kicker dx250.1 amp and a pioneer avh2400bt head unit great system for under 750 and had to turn amp dwn half way cuz was drowning out my stock speakers lol but gona replace em shortly gona get the sound ordnance speakers for them too cant beat the price and quality an hits just as hard as the name brands an bout half the price
Pros: every thing
I replaced my 8" Alpine Type R in a ported box (350 watts RMS) with this bandpass box and speaker. The difference is very clear. The bass in my car sounds louder, deeper, lower and fuller. This sub doesn't sound like a 250 watt RMS speaker. It is also a very attractive looking piece of hardware. I highly recommend this product. There is NO WAY you can get better bass from a single 12" sub than this.
Pros: sound, price and cool looking
Bought this speaker and a Boston GTA 802 amp rated at 260 watts rms not a good recomendation, I hooked this thing up to a 500 watt rms amp and wow!!!! I have been building systems 20 years and this speaker impressed me. Bang for the buck cannot be matched, walmart pricing with top shelf quality. If you buy this speaker over power it, go with 350 plus watts, I have 500 pushing mine and it handles it all, I turned it down just a little to keep things cool. At 250 watts I was on the phone with crutchfeild telling them we had a problem. OVERPOWER OVERPOWER OVERPOWER!!! Power dont blow speakers distortion does, as long as you dont get carried away it will handle up to 500 watts Ive seen it my self.
Pros: Big Bang for the buck, Wow Factor, good looking package, makes you rearveiw mirror dance with your music
Cons: you will find all loose bolts in your car, have to retighten your license plate!!! NONE CHEAP BOOM FOR YOUR RIDE
I have a 98 Nissan Maxima and I installed this sub along with the Sound Ordnance M2-100 amp. I have an aftermarket Alpine receiver and Kicker speakers also. This has been in my car for several months now and I am totally impressed with how great the bass is in my car! Even though it is a single sub, it has more than enough oomph to shake my car and I can definitely make my neighbors angry if I want to. I usually listen to music at normal levels, and at low and regular levels it really fills out the bottom end of your sound and thumps enough to be satisfying. At high levels, this sub hits hard enough to shake the car, stays clean, and sounds amazing. My brother has two 12 inch top of the line Kicker subs, and at normal listening levels, this sub is almost as good as his, and this is 600 dollars cheaper! That brings me to the best part of this sub, the value. You absolutely cannot beat the performance of the B-17 for its low price. If you are on a tight budget like me but want good bass, you can to stop looking and order this sub. You'll be blown away.
Pros: -Amazing bass for cheap single sub, excellent build quality, looks awesome, comes with 3 year warranty
Cons: -pretty bulky
Ok so man first of all I am blown away... once u get to hear the sound from this thing than u will understand where I'm coming from. Sounds so clean so deep with heart trembling bass. It was so freaking loud that I let my friend Jay listen to it and he has two kicker COMP Vr's or whatever crap he said and let me tell ya he's selling them with in the next week or so and purchasing this bad boy... My god this subis packed with so much punch 250/500 RMS with an M15OO Mono amplifier u can't go wrong. If you do not want to be stared at while driving than don't get this if uwant a lot of attention than this is your best and only bet. I drive a 2011 STI with a stock double DIN NAV... Yea the difference there is no comparison. This is a competition sub no matter which way u look at it. PeAce go get it
Pros: Tremendous heart trembling bass, just enough to enter into a competition. 3 year warranty. Very clean deep bass sound. Perfect for HIP/HOP and R&B... Also some rock
Cons: virtually really none except that it is very wide and tall for some vehicles.
This thing thumps and booms !! You can feel the bass in the whole car..I had to adjust my head unit accordingly and it still punches hard !! It gives my music that sonic bombast I want !! I had a Bazooka tube before and upgraded to this, huge difference !! For the money its build quality and sound is a cut above !!
Pros: Reasonably priced, awesome bass production, you can hear and feel it !!
Cons: Its much larger than spec'd.
I have limited space, but wanted a big bang. Well, I got it! Very nice sub! You can't beat it for the money or warranty!
This sub sounds amazing for the price. I have it in a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Hardtop with the Sound Ordnance M-1350 amp and a JVC Arsenal head-unit. The sub is surprisingly loud and low. I was skeptical when I bought it but wanted something cheap since theft in a Jeep is so easy. I have no complaints with this sub. The only reason that I didn't give it a 5 Star is because nothing is perfect but this sub is "very" close.
Pros: Great price Excellent sound Doesn't take up a lot of room in a Jeep 4dr
Cons: None so far
I really enjoy this sub. I think it sounds great and it was well priced. The only issue I could have is the size specifications are a tad off. It is a bit longer and just slightly wider than was specified.
Pros: Sounds good, looks nice, Affordable
Cons: Bigger than was mentioned
This subwoofer is extremely well built, looks awesome and sounds even better. I've got it paired with the M-1500 amp at about half gain and it hts harder than anything I've ever had. Very responsive and deep loud fluid sound. Amazing price as well.
The setup only took my friend and me 6 hours. easy to manage. and the sound is incredible.
Pros: It's sooo much better than i expected it to be! I love it it's loud it's clean just perfect.
Cons: Nothing to hate on.
I bought this for my sons suv for Christmas and could not be happier. Has a very good bang for the buck and is pretty darn crisp sounding. I initally went with this sub due to the box having the protective lens so we would not have to keep taking in in and out for fear of the speaker getting cut or poked. After speaking with a tech he helped me determine that this would be a great fit for my application and man he was dead on. This thing with the proper amp will hit hard and clear. You cannot beat this for the money at all. Way to go Crutchfield on another quality product.
Pros: Extremely good value, powerful and pretty clear, protective clear cover
Cons: nothing yet
I bought this sub about a month ago and just had it installed today,in a ford mustang lx hatchback for my son, this subs thumps that is all i can say it thump.i was kind of hasten about buying it but the more and more reviews i read about it, the more i decided to get it and im glad i did. THIS ENCLOSURES THUMPS
Okay, so I only put this in just today, but after listening to it for a while... Its amazing! Not only is it one good looking unit, but wow is it a nice heavy thumper. This is really a great sub for the price. I have it paired with a Boston GTA-802 amp, and it shakes my mirrors, seats, and sounds great. I love Crutchfield, and I will be a life long customer!
I ordered this sub probably about a month ago along with the sound ordnance M1350 amplifier and just recently bought the wiring kit to hook it up. Everything was shipped super fast and I was very satisfied. I hooked everything up by myself and for this being my first sub woofer ever, I'm amazed. Right now I only have it at about half way to full power and already it has amazed me and was exactly the thing I was looking for. It sounds amazing in my car and rumbles my seats and mirrors and everything so nicely and again, its only at half power! Like someone else said though, this isnt something that will "shake buildings" or anything. For the price too, you can't pass this up. I got lucky and bought mine on the day the sale for it ended and got it for $99 so basically I <3 Crutchfield.
ok, i have to say, sound ordnance is a great brand. these products are top quality. they perform as great as they look. i have mine fully broke in, and, wow. sounds great. thumps when i want it, or sounds smooth if im in the mood for quieter music. if ur debating, dont hesistate. u will not be dissapointed. free delivery that shows up quick and unscathed. 3 year warranty! dont wait!!
I bought this sub after my factory one blew in my ford expedition. Let me say I love it, i am only pushing it with my factory amp which i think is rated at 85w rms & it still vibrates my rearview mirror, I figure this will at least let me break it in until i upgrade the rest of my system & install another amp. I think the dimensions are off because I measured the space hehind my back seat & it said it would fit..but its too big. Anyway i love the sub it makes my factory stereo sound awesome & i love crutchfield.
I purchased the B-17 and tried to use it with an existing amplifier. I called the Chutchfield techs and was told that a Boston Acoustic amp (that happened to be on sale) would be perfect. I mentioned that the catalog said I would be turning my car into a low frequency fortress with the Sound Ordinance subwoofer. The amplifier would bring out the little nuances at a flick of a switch via the rear panel. I'm sorry to say that he underestimated the full effect this combination would have on my sound system. I have a dream system like you've never heard in your life. Polk Audio(seperates in front& full range in the rear), and a Kicker four channel amp. You guys are the best!!! Every product lived up to the hype.
As others have stated this is a pretty decent box, especially for the price. If you're expecting to shake buildings look somewhere else. If you're looking for something to give your system some range and a little boom this is the perfect low cost solution. I am pleased with my purchase.
This Sub is very nice i was kinda ify about buying this sub becasue its really cheap for being a 12 inch sub but man it sounds really good!!! And it looks really good!! I get a lot of compliments on how cheap i bought it for and how good it looks and sounds my friends all own subs and they really like my sub if ur looking for a cheap sub this is the one you want to get im soo gladdd i bought this!! I would recommend this sub to anyone who mentions to me they want to buy a sub !! This is really a great buy ohh yeahh i ordered this on monday and i got it on tuesday!! This is a must buy!!! Sry this rating was so long im just really happy with this sub and with crutchfield with there delivery!!
Excellent bass for the price. Looks great and sounds even better. Don't wait on this. Its worth every cent. I got my 03 corolla set with this and a 300 watt Infinity amp. A few extra bucks on wood for a custom amp rack, some auto carpet and an afternoon working on the install and it came out awesome. This is my wifes car and she is very happy with the sound and looks of the sub too. I have had over 6 cars in the past 15 years with competion quality and SPL over 130. This is an impressive sub and bandpass box. Would have cost many hundreds of dollars just a few years ago for this. If you want a true ground pounder then spend a ton of cash on some JL's, but this will shake your seats and wake your neighbors when hooked up right. Plus a 3 year warranty, stop the madness.
im running this sub with the sound ordnance M-1500 mono amp. hits really good with hiphop although its alittle off when you play fast beat house music. other than that its a great sub and you cant go wrong with it. btw i have this in a 1995 lexus es300. the people from crutchfield told me it wouldnt fit but i ordered it any way and it does
I have this running with a Kenwood KAC-5204 Amp in my GMC Envoy. With 150 watts this thing pounds out the bass. Not only does it sound great it looks great as well. It looks and feels like a very well put together unit. I highly recommend this sub.
Very Great system! I also bought the Sound Ordnance M1350 Amplifier and the sound is amazing for the price. I got the equipment and when I came home from work I had installed it in my car within 2 hours! The price is very good for the sound, and the box looks even better in person, and i get a lot of positive comments from friends!!
I was going to wait a couple weeks to write a review so the sub would have time to break in, but I couldn't wait. I just hooked this up yesterday and I am amazed. I haven't had time to do much adjusting but it sounds great already. I was really suprised by the clarity. I figured it would sound nice but it sounds way better than expected. Another homerun for Crutchfield.
Using it in home theatre setup driven by a 250W plate amp in combination with a Polk sound bar. Adds good depth and presence to music. Solid construction. Quality terminal connections. Good buy for the $$$.
i ordered this sub and the sound ordnance M-1500 mono amp. i hooked it up today and it sounds great! The bass hits hard! It is the best subwoofer for the money and it sounds great!
k i would like to say this is the best subwoofer for the price. first i got a little suspicious since it was really cheap and never heard of that kind of brand. but i trusted crutchfield and i made my order. after i got it install i was very impressed with the loudness of the bass. it rattles my whole car. my gosh i just love hearing metal and hip hop with such a loud bass. but some techno may not be the best for this. if you listen to very fast bass techno then the subwoofer will be out of sync and get led behind with the beat and it is very noticeable. but some techno sounds really nice if the bass of the song doesn't beat too fast. i would recommend if your trying to save on cash get Sound Ordnance M2100 amp. it has 200 watts rms which is a great match for the subwoofer. i would actually rated 4.5 out of 5 but i feel like ill give it 5 star rather then 4.
vehicle: 2001 VW Passat 4motion Variant Previous set-up: Stock monsoon HU, 10" sub in Qlogic enclosure built for S-10 regular cab p/u I was a little hesitant purchasing this since I have never heard of Sound Ordinance before. However, after some research, I made the decision to buy it. I figured that it had to sound better than the 10" I had now. When I first opened the box, I was surprised to see the quality of the enclosure as well as the sub. When I first connected it, I could actually "feel" the difference. I can now feel the kick of the bass drum on my back. I couldn't feel that with the 10" sub. The sub and enclosure look really good. Seems to be high quality. The acrylic seems to be nice and thick. Everything is nice and tight. Overall, for the price, I am very impressed. This set-up has filled in the low end I was seeking. I don't listen to alot of rap or R&B, but "My People" by Erykah Badu is ridiculous with this 12"! I was smiling in my garage when it was on! Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. The only reason why I rated it at 4 stars is because I don't know much about subwoofers and enclosures, and thought there might exist something better out there for the price. I could be wrong, however...
b17 off the chain.. lovin it. inside a 2006 hyundai sonata. would recommand this to everybody. 3 year warranty straight killin it. have the m1500 sound ordnance mono amp pushin it
I felt good buying this because Crutchfield is the only place that sells this subwoofer, so I wasn't worried about quality. I installed it myself a week ago and have spent the last week breaking it in. It sounds amazing. Ive got it paired with an Alpine MRP-M500 amp and I love It. i would recomend it to anyone looking to buy a sub. in addition it comes with a 3 year warranty, so i have no worries. Crutchfields service was great as always. I'm very pleased. 100%.
this subwoofer hits really hard i like it alot!!!!! pow

While helping my brother to choose audio equipment to replace his factory system I recommended the Sound Ordnance B-17. After it was installed and I heard the sound I was so impressed that I ordered one for the system that installed in my son's car.I was so equally impressed by the deep tight bass it produces that now I'm replacing my 10" enclosed subwoofer with much better sounding Sound Ordnance B-17 [ Lawrence Dec 14, 2016 ]
