Outstanding little subwoofer solution!!!!
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I installed this sub in a 2015 Honda Fit Ex that came with a 6 speaker factory setup. I also installed 2 Rockford Fosgate 6.5 coaxial speakers in my front doors. I have to admit that the install took much longer than I originally planned but a good portion of that time was my own fault. The sub, once installed correctly, is running above expectations and I'd actually forgotten how effective isobaric can be. I'm 45 years young and back in the day.... well, that's another story all together. The tech support I received from one of Crutchfields technicians "Oakley" was outstanding. I ran power from a T30 Torx bolt located at the fuse block instead of running from the battery terminal in order to save some time (my decision). I realize this isn't the best practice but I was trying to save some time and so far so good. I ran a ground wire in the hatch of the car near the sub and remote wire from the back of the factory Head unit to the sub. I also ended up running 16 gage speaker wire directly from the rear door speakers themselves to the sub, as I found splicing into the thin factory speaker wires at the bottom of the door pillars did not have enough power to drive the sub. I also found the colors of the speaker wire and polarity misleading on a couple of different sites, including what Crutchfield had on file for this car. Both rear door speaker wires were blue (positive), and pink (negative) for both doors. You can't beat a sub under $100 so don't hesitate this sub!
Pros: Price, efficiency, size, craftsmanship, perfect for filling in that low end sound in a small car.
Cons: As others have mentioned, the lack of a remote control for turning up the gains. This can only be done from the rear of the unit but that was clearly stated the descriptions so net a big deal. At this price point I can't complain.
