Sound Ordnance B-8PTD
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
First... be sure you buy a kit that has wires long enough to reach the sub. The kit I purchased from Crutchfield did not reach from the battery & remote wire to the rear of my SUV. I had to add about 5 feet more of wire (not a big deal, just an inconvenience and also the wire I had was not the same high quality as what came in the kit). Getting the ground wire was also a challenge because it was so short. I had to take off a panel that also had a seatbelt bolt to remove and I was not able to get the seatbelt harness installed. I'll need to get a bolt threader and get that done at a later time (third row seat seatbelt, so now I have 7 belted seats instead of 8). Aside from the inconveniences that came from the installation process, the powered sub sounds really nice. It doesn't shake the rearview mirror, but it does give a satisfying low end that the radio & 6-1/2 two way speakers would not have. The radio and sub have enough setting adjustments to really get a good sound between the powered sub and speakers. Overall very happy with this powered sub. Seems to be a good quality unit that should last a long time.
Pros: Sounds great. Good low end bass, but not the thump from big box units (I didn't want over powering bass, this is just the right amount).
Cons: The kit sold by Crutchfield was not long enough to give trouble fee installation. Would recommend finding a way to measure the length needed before ordering the wire kit.
