About the Sound Ordnance™ Bass Bunker

Dominic DeVito
Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.

The BB102-75S sealed enclosure holds two 10" subwoofers and offers an internal volume of 0.76 cubic feet per chamber. Just add the right subs, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.

Features

Materials: The Sound Ordnance BB102-75S Bass Bunker is an unloaded, hatchback-style sealed enclosure for dual 10" subwoofers. It is constructed of 5/8" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), covered in black carpet.

Internal Box Volume: The enclosure has two separate chambers, each with 0.75 cubic feet of airspace.

Terminals: The BB102-75S is equipped with two pairs of spring-post speaker terminals, one for each chamber, mounted in the rear panel. The spring terminals will accept bare wire, pin connectors, and single banana plugs, but are spaced too far apart for dual banana plugs. Inside the enclosure, each set of terminals has an attached 18" length of speaker wire for connecting the subwoofer.

Brackets: Brackets for securing the enclosure to your vehicle are recommended.

Q
What would be better in my 1997 Silverado k1500 standard cab a ported box or a sealed box for to ten inch subwoofers?

It's really a matter of personal preference Charles. Check out this comparison article in the Crutchfield Labs for more information on the specific differences: http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/sealed-or-ported-subwoofer-enclosures.html?search=sealed_subwoofer I hope that helps! Hi Charles, In my opinion, a sealed box would be more than enough punch for a pickup. I had a 1997 Dodge Ram extended cab with two 10" in a sealed custom fit box and it did the job plus some. From what I understand a ported box will give you better deep tones but it can also sound a bit muddy. A sealed box will give you more precise tones. I think you'd have a better experience and more than enough bang with a sealed box in a standard cab pickup. I hope this was helpful.
