Sound Ordnance Bass Bunkers
Crutchfield: Sealed and ported subwoofer boxes
Sealed vs. Ported Subwoofer Box Listening Test
Sound Ordnance: Victory through Superior Sound
Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.
The BB10-75S sealed enclosure holds one 10" subwoofer and offers an internal volume of 0.76 cubic feet. Just add the right sub, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.
Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.
Great box, works very well.
Average Customer Review(s):
Great box, works very well.
Pros: Enough space. And pre set with wiring
Well built and the price is right
Pros: Well built enclosure with internal bracing and rugged carpet
Cons: None so far
Great product. Exactly as advertised. Quality product. Well done.
Great product. Exactly as advertised. Quality craftsmanship. Well Done.
Awesome box! extremely well made and sturdy. Honestly surprised by the build quality from Sound Ordinance. The carpet is solid and very clean looking and the push down terminals are perfect. Could not be more satisfied with this box!
Pros: Build Quality, Carpet, Terminals, Price
Cons: The wire could be a lower gauge, but that's me really nit-picking
Great box! Bracing is nice. Awesome speaker terminals. Prefect for a polk mm1040.
The subwoofer I chose to run in this box is an Alpine SWS 10D4. This box boasts superior quality compared to other boxes I've heard with the same subwoofer in them . The build is sound and sturdy, with ports for speaker wire very easy to get to. The material used, which is 5/8" MDF, Screws fit snuggly with no worries. There are also great spots for mounts if you plan on mounting it, which I have already done. I'm feeding this guy with an Alpine MRV M500.
Pros: Great build quality Outside port sturdy and easy to get to
I purchased this box along with a JL Audio 10W0v3-4 subwoofer and grill. I wasn't looking for window rattling, neighbor annoying, bass; just good clean, crisp lows and this box and sub combo has really fit the bill. I'm driving the sub with an Alpine PDX-V9
This was a sealed box for a 10" JL W1. Very well constructed and nicely carpeted. Quality connections. Well sealed and extra support beams inside. All wood connections were well sealed with silicon/glue. While this box was listed at .76 CF, but I was easily able to add some additional wood pieces inside to lessen the airspace.
Pros: Well built, good looking.
Cons: None, yet
Very nice subwoofer enclosure, with great fit and finish. Comes with good quality speaker wire for internal wiring.
Pros: High quality finish and connectors
With quality this affordable, don't build your own! Great look.....quality build. Makes the job easy, easy, easy!
Pros: affordability, looks, quality
As usual, Crutchfield does it again...great product, delivered on-time as promised. What more could one ask for?
Pros: Well constructed.
Excellent product! Arrived on time as expected with any Crutchfield purchase. Suited my needs for a 10" subwoofer just fine. Easy to connect and hook right up to the amplifier! Jeep JK sounds better already!
Great little box. Fits snug against my hatchbacks back seat back. (that's a lot of back!) Very well built, very durable and looks great. The terminals on the back of the box protrude just slightly, so keep this in mind when placing it on a surface that might get scratched when installing the driver/woofer.
Pros: Small, strong, well built
Cons: terminals protrude from back and could scratch surfaces when installing the driver/woofer
Nice looking enclosure, built solid and fits nicely in the back of hatch back.
Pros: Nice carpeting on the outside to blend in with natural flow of the cars carpeting.
Cons: The curvature limits possible mounting positions.
I had a old 10 inch Alumapro Subwoofer that I wanted to put to use. I bought this box and it fit perfectly. It doesn't take up very much space in my trunk (Toyota Corolla). Good bang for your buck
Pros: Worked as described, inexpensive
Solid enclosure. Very well made. The binding posts are easy to use and good quality. Bought this at the advice of a Crutchfield adviser an he was spot on with the recommendation. The unit sits in the back of a Nissan Xterra which is somewhat of a rough ride. No doubt this enclosure will hold up. You won't be disappointed.
Pros: Solid. Well made.
had a 10" MTX gathering dust and decided to put it to use. got the box from the outlet, a speaker had been put in previously, so there were already screw holes. luckily they matched my woofer. installed in 5 minutes and playing. works great, wish I had a better woofer, but a sub and box for this price is hard to beat! this box is well made and looks good. I like the binding posts, they are good quality.
Pros: easy sub box reasonable price good value good quality
This box is heavy and puts out great sound with my alpine type R. For the price, this box is worth every penny
For not knowing much about subs and bunkers along with the whole 9 yards, I'd say I'm satisfied. The sub fit nicely into the bunker a good friend of mine strapped it fast to the back of my vehicle.
Pros: Fits nicely and doesn't take up a lot of space.
Looked for a small box for my 10 inch subwoofer. Found it at Crutchfield. Good quality and great value.
Pros: Good construction. Spring loaded wire connectors made this a GREAT value.
Cons: Carpet wanted to come loose while drilling pilot holes for speaker mount.
Showed up to my house properly packaged with no damage. The box is well built with proper reinforcement and flawless carpeting. A great value!
Pros: Flawless carpet Structurally sound Great price
I was a bit worried at first that this box was only 5/8 thick, but once I hooked it up to a Polk db1040 and a boston 300 RMS amp it put my worries out the door. I am impressed with the quality and durability of this box. I highly recommend this unit for any style woofer, you will not be disappointed.
If your looking for a single 10" enclosure you can't do much better. This box is heavy duty and can really rock.
Pros: Heavy duty construction
Cons: does not come with speaker grill
Crutchfield customer service matched these boxes for my woofers. Great sound, more great customer service. Thanks Crutchfield.
the box is good quality and good construction but I've realized after installing it that I need a ported box over a sealed due to the lack of bass.
I used this box for an Infinity Kappa 100.9w. Between the combination of these 2 products, the sound coming from my trunk can only be described as incredible!! The bass hits hard and all that is back there is a single 10".
I have been updating the sound system in my Sequoia over the last couple of months. Before I could get the sub box built, I scheduled a week long photo safari to Florida. I saw an add in a Crutchfield catalog for this series of pre-built cabinets. After talking to a helpful Chrutchfield advisor, I ordered this model. With free shipping, I got it in 2 days. The box is well built and nicely covered. It comes with a recessed connector cup installed that will accept several types of speaker wire terminations. It is doing the job very nicely, and I am greatly enjoying my new system on my trip. Thanks, Frank

Although it was priced higher than most I found, the size was right for my application [ Mike Jan 25, 2017 ]
I already have a 10 inch sub in a custom box, but I am now going to just use my old sub in this box so I can remove it if I need the cargo space. [ John Nov 09, 2016 ]
Flashflood destroyed my existing box, but the driver survived. This box is the closest match and seems to be well made. [ John Sep 24, 2016 ]
based on customer reviews. [ teddy Jul 26, 2016 ]
I bought this because this is one of the best pre-made boxes I have used. I had a rockford p2 10 in here and it sounded great. Now I am going to drop an Alpine Type S 10 in here. Can't wait! [ Danny Jul 25, 2016 ]
It fit [ Christopher Jan 03, 2016 ]
Assuming the model number you've provided is accurate, the Rockford woofer is recommended for use in a vented (ported) enclosure of between 0.75 & 1.5 cubic feet of airspace. So, I wouldn't used the sealed box you've selected. The BB10-75V would be the better choice: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777BB1075V/item.html The woofer should be a SVC 4 Ohm impedance and rated for 300 watts RMS so the R500X1D you've selected is a great match to power it. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan Jun 03, 2016 ] Staff
