Best Prefab Available
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
These bassbunkers are some of the most sturdy and well built prefab boxes on the market. I wish they would make the dual ported 12 box with the larger volume. But right now I'm using the BB12-200V which is the largest, vented, single 12 box they make. This box is amazing. People that refuse to use prefabs have never used a S/O Bassbunker. It has internal bracing too in case you're using a high powered sub like I am. This keeps box rise to a minimum so you can get the most from your amp. It uses 3/4 in. mdf board, lots of internal bracing, and 16 sq. in. of port area. I have a Sundown Audio SA-12. D2 in this box running on 1200 watts RMS off my Pioneer GM-D9601. It absolutely pounds. My rear spoiler has come off my car, and my mirror broke off my windshield. Just from a single sub. This box is fairly close to Sundown specs. Every single time I turn it up, I am blown away by how loud it is. Last is the tuning. It is tuned to 36 Hz. This is perfect for a daily driver. Its low enough that you dont miss the deep notes. And just high enough to get that extra volume. I don't like those boxes that are tuned in the 40s. Sure they're loud, but you miss the deep notes, and they peak at certain frequencies. 36 is just right.
Pros: High quality material, very well constructed, tuned to the perfect frequency, very fair price for what you're getting.
Cons: Not necessarily a con, but if you use a high powered subwoofer, you may have to replace the 12 ga speaker wire that comes with this box. Or if you have a dual voice coil sub, you will need an extra short piece of wire to connect both coils.
