Overview

Our take on the Sound Ordnance™ Bass Bunker

Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.

The BB8-35S sealed enclosure holds one 8" subwoofer and offers an internal volume of 0.38 cubic feet. Just add the right sub, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.

Its great to have bass and trunk space as an adult. I matched this up with a Polk MM that you can find here, good combo

Features

Materials: The Sound Ordnance BB8-35S Bass Bunker is an unloaded, hatchback-style sealed enclosure for a single 8" subwoofer. It is constructed of 1/2" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), covered in black carpet.

Internal Box Volume: The enclosure has 0.38 cubic feet of airspace.

Terminals: The BB8-35S is equipped with a pair of spring-post speaker terminals, mounted in the rear panel. The spring terminals will accept bare wire, pin connectors, and single banana plugs, but are spaced too far apart for dual banana plugs. Inside the enclosure, the terminals have an attached 18" length of speaker wire for connecting the subwoofer.

Why did you buy this?

Right fit for the job. [ John  Feb 16, 2017 ]
Will fit good in the small trunk of my mustang. [ James  Feb 08, 2017 ]
Right size. [ JACK  Feb 03, 2017 ]
Did the trick for my Polk 10" sub. Pleased with purchase, good quality box. [ Pierre  Jan 02, 2017 ]
It was the closest thing to what I needed that crutchfield has wish the cubic foot would be a lil less for my punch 3 shallow mounts [ Cory  Nov 02, 2016 ]
to put an 8 inch speaker in [ joseph  Oct 20, 2016 ]
It looks like it's built well for the price. [ Charles  Oct 06, 2016 ]
User reviews [ Troy  Aug 09, 2016 ]
We are using the sound system in a room, not a car, so a box is the best solution for us. This one is compact, and with stuffing it sounds nice and punchy. Excellent quality for the money! [ Todd  Jul 12, 2016 ]
I ordered this enclosure because it's internal free air space was closest to the JL Audio recommended space for the 8w3 which is the subwoofer I picked up and the box is tuned closest to spec provided by JL for the 8w3, I wanted an 8w7 but the box for it wouldn't fit in my trunk. [ Jacob  Apr 30, 2016 ]
Only box that I found with great reviews. [ Sean  Mar 26, 2016 ]
Speaker required air space was correct [ Steve  Mar 16, 2016 ]
Not many other options for a sealed 8" box. The price point on this model was acceptable. [ DILLON  Mar 16, 2016 ]
Was the correct air space for the sub I'm using [ jeremy  Dec 30, 2015 ]
I am installing twin 8" subwoofers in my Dodge Stealth. There is limited room and these will fit both the back cargo area (flanking) and my Infinity 860w's. I want the tone not to rattle my frame. [ Keith  Dec 05, 2015 ]

3 questions already asked

No, it is not. However, if you mean a required volume of .35 and not 3.5, then yes it will work fine. The difference in volume is insignificant. [ juanita  Jul 03, 2016 ]
I purchased this box for my daughter to use with a Polk 8" subwoofer with similar recommendations. It sounds fantastic in her little Kia Rio. The recommended box volume is just that, simply a suggestion based on the woofer's specifications. Fractional variations in box volume aren't going to have an audible effect on the woofer's performance, so I'm confident you won't be disappointed going with this box. It's very nicely constructed and finished, and a solid value. [ Frank S.  May 22, 2016 ]
I don't know about the RF but the infinity I had in there sounded real nice [ julian  May 21, 2016 ]
They will work together because the volume taken up by the mass of the speaker magnet and structure reduces the internal volume of the speaker box bringing it closer to the recommended volume for the speaker [ juanita  May 21, 2016 ]
Yes. [ PETER  May 21, 2016 ]
Yep. [ Frank S.  Jul 29, 2015 ]
Yes it does [ julian  Jul 29, 2015 ]
It does come with the terminals and wire. It is ready for a speaker. [ Todd  Jul 29, 2015 ]
yes it does. [ PHEALIN  Jul 29, 2015 ]
