Win the battle for great sound in your ride. Sound Ordnance amplifiers feature tough construction, rugged looks, and a 3-year warranty, so you can enjoy the full power of your music for the long haul. Even better, you can add Sound Ordnance to your arsenal at a surprisingly affordable price.

The Sound Ordnance M-1500 mono amplifier packs a 500-watt wallop that'll give your subwoofers some serious firepower. An adjustable low-pass filter and a variable bass boost allow you to control your bass barrage at will.

The M-1500 amplifier uses sophisticated power supply and output technologies to ensure clean amplification from the inputs all the way to your speakers. Special circuits protect the amp from overheating and short circuits, and a turn-on delay virtually eliminates that annoying thump when you turn your system on.

Features

Power Ratings: The Sound Ordnance M-1500 is a mono-block Class AB amplifier with an RMS power rating of 300 watts per channel into 4 ohms, and 500 watts per channel into 2 ohms.Power ratings are measured with an input power of 14.4 volts.

Crossovers: The M-1500 is equipped with a low-pass crossover and a subsonic filter. You can set the low-pass cutoff frequency between 40Hz and 300Hz. The subsonic filter, designed to block ultra low frequencies that can damage speakers and rob amplifier power, is variable between 10Hz and 40Hz. The crossovers have a 12dB per octave slope, and cannot be turned off.

Bass Boost: The amplifier has a rotary bass boost control. Boost is continuously variable from 0dB to +12dB and centered at 45 Hz.

LED Indicators: The M-1500 features two LED indicators: a green LED that illuminates when the amp is powered on, and a red LED that illuminates when the amplifier is in protect mode due to overheating or a short circuit in the speaker wire.

Remote Bass Control: The amplifier comes with a remote bass control module to allow you to adjust the volume of the amp from the front of the vehicle. The module has a rotary volume control knob, and an LED to indicate when the amplifier is turned on. The module is designed to mount under the dash, and comes with 16-1/2 feet of cable.

Connections

Removable End Caps: The end caps on the M-1500 are removable with a 3mm Allen wrench (not supplied) to make it easier to attach the power and speaker wires.

Power Connections: The power and ground connections are set screw terminals that will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire. (An 8-gauge amplifier wiring kit is recommended.) The remote turn-on terminal is a set screw terminal that will also accept up to 8-gauge wire. A Phillips-head screwdriver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.

Speaker Connections: The speaker connections are set screw terminals that will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire. Even though this is a mono amplifier, there are two sets of speaker outputs. The terminals are wired in parallel internally, allowing you to connect two 4-ohm speakers to separate terminals. A Phillips-head screwdriver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.

RCA Inputs and Outputs: The amplifier features a pair of stereo RCA inputs for connecting your head unit. There is also a pair of stereo RCA outputs for feeding the preamp signal to another amplifier, if needed.

Fuses: The M-1500 features two 30-amp ATC blade fuses.

Why did you buy this?

1st time buying amp trusted crutchfield reputation for a solid product for someone with a tight budget [ Joshua  Jun 14, 2017 ]
Recommended by an advisor and it does not disappoint! Cheap and good sound! [ mrkramer1979  Jun 14, 2017 ]

Reviews are very good on this amp and great price and 3 years warranty hard to beat. [ L  Dec 31, 2016 ]
I needed some real power to run two 12s at 2ohms. This thing did it without a hitch and never ran hot. The warranty can't be beat and it always performes flawlessly. Also the price is spot on! [ LESLIE J  Dec 27, 2016 ]

Sound Ordnance is top quality at affordable price and add a 3 year warranty and You can't go wrong [ Marc  Aug 06, 2016 ]
My old 800 watt amp died and instead of going with another 4 channel amp i decided to just go with a mono amp and hook straight into my sub. For the combo deal I was able to get this at, seemed like a no brainier with my old sub showing signs of wear in it's diaphragm. I won a few SO speakers and powered subs so I figure why not try the amp by itself. [ Mr.  Jul 05, 2016 ]
Need power for the subs...Works great! [ Benjamin  Jun 17, 2016 ]
I ordered this amplifier because it provided the recommended 4ohm RMS power rating for the JL Audio 8w3 while receiving good ratings and reviews and from many articles produces a very clean sound and has clean output. Also worth noting, in many online articles, Sound Ordnance is known for being an underdog, so to speak, producing great products but currently being young and small and having to sell cheap to keep selling against big names, which for me means, good cheap amplifier. [ Jacob  Apr 30, 2016 ]
I biggest reason I chose this was the advice given on Crutchfield's website. It was easy to understand for a novice and still informative for and advanced user. I seemed to me to be a good price for this product. I've had good results with my previous purchases with Crutchfield. [ Jason  Apr 22, 2016 ]
good price [ KIM DANIEL  Apr 17, 2016 ]
Good review and price [ Anna  Apr 16, 2016 ]
Cost effectiveness [ Stephen  Apr 09, 2016 ]
Sound Ordnance has a good reputation for good quality. [ BRYAN H  Mar 20, 2016 ]
this was a great price and just what i was looking for [ joseph emery  Mar 16, 2016 ]
reviews, combo deal, give it a try. Not afraid of trying new brands. [ Juan  Mar 04, 2016 ]

If you will look in the details section, you'll see it's listed as a class AB [ Lucas  Jun 16, 2017 ]
As long as the 4-ohm coils on each of the Kicker 10C154 subwoofers are wired together in parallel to show the Sound Ordnance M-1500 amp a 2-ohm load, then that would match up very nicely. If you would like to discuss further, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. Hope that helps! [ Larry  May 08, 2017 ]  Staff
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system. [ Krissy  Jul 15, 2016 ]  Staff
First off, you will be very limited w/ a stock deck that had no RCA out puts... The only way I know is, you have to buy a inline output converter and connect it to the stock speaker outputs... Then you can run some some RCA's to your Amp.. Your best friend will be that bass knob & dials that the Amp comes w/ especially since you don't have a sub output fr the deck... Good Luck.! [ OWEN K  Mar 12, 2016 ]
Im sure you can connect to your Toyota but you will need to buy a rca converter. That is what I bought and used to connect to my stock factory head unit in my 2013 infiniti g37x [ Victor  Mar 11, 2016 ]
I would say your best bet would be on the back of your rear seats. I put mine on the back of my subwoofer even though I read its bad, but not much changed in my opinion. [ Andrew  Feb 11, 2016 ]
I mounted mine with capacitor on the back of the back seat. You might not have enough power to power 2 12s [ Corey  Feb 11, 2016 ]
Without knowing what kind of car you have or the dimensions of the sub enclosures, that will be hard to answer [ DUKE  Feb 11, 2016 ]
Anywhere. [ CARL R  Feb 11, 2016 ]
What year make and model of car ? How big are the sub enclosed ? Dimensions ? [ DUKE  Feb 11, 2016 ]
You need to wire the positives to the positive terminal of the amp and both negatives to the negative terminal of the amp to achieve a 2 ohm to 2ohm hook up. [ MARK  Jan 25, 2016 ]
Even though this is a mono amplifier, there are two sets of speaker outputs. The terminals are wired in parallel internally, allowing you to connect two 4-ohm speakers to separate terminals. [ Jeff  Jan 25, 2016 ]  Staff

I'm pretty sure the input level would be considered the gain adjustment. [ PAUL  Jan 01, 2015 ]
Honestly i used the bass gain remote that i also came with the amp. Your supposed to use only 3/4 up in the gain without the remote but with it you can adjust from up front without ever touching the amp. It does have a rotary bass control but use the remote it will make a difference. [ GABRIEL  Dec 31, 2014 ]

Mine is "slightly" tucked away in the rear of my truck, and it gets hot but I'm pushing two Polk audio Dxi's. If your using most to all the power this things puts out its gonna get warm after 30 min and hot around 45 min of continuous MAX output. hope this helps. Also, i have had this amp for over a year and it is loud and reliable, no problems what so ever, great build quality! [ MICHAEL  Oct 20, 2014 ]
I keep it in my trunk and it overheats when it gets real hot outside. It has a cutoff feature though so it doesn't get ruined. All I do is open up the back seat and blast the A/C so it cools off. As long as you have good airflow over it it should be fine. [ PAUL  Oct 18, 2014 ]
I would have to say no it would not, the footprint of the amp is just entirely too large. I went with a Rockford Fosgate amp and it worked fine, but this thing is entirely too large. [ RICKY A  Oct 17, 2014 ]
It will work and doesnt get hot from no airapace but i had this amp attached to the backseat in my civic hatchback. So honestly under your seat i couldnt tell gou yes or no bit hell of an amp [ GABRIEL  Oct 17, 2014 ]
In my opinion it would not be too hot to mount under seat but possibly too big. Amp never got very hot on me. Definitely would not fit under my Honda accord seat [ JAMES E  Oct 17, 2014 ]

I connected 2 JL Audio single subs to this amp and it was too loud for my taste. So my answer is yes you can. [ RYAN  May 01, 2014 ]
This amp has two channels, I has it powering two dxi polks. And it does the job. I have it tuned bad and need to take it in to a shop but I defently does the job. [ MICHAEL  Apr 30, 2014 ]
Yes it will work perfectly fine. It will also turn your 2 ohm in to 4 ohm phase. Good amp powerful and full hitting hard amp. [ GABRIEL  Apr 30, 2014 ]
It will work with a dual sub system, that is I was running it with the subs wired in parallel. You can get a two into one connection from Radio Shack or just run both connections to the single connection...either way it will work. [ CURTIS A  Apr 30, 2014 ]
All depends on how you wire it [ BURBON  Apr 30, 2014 ]
As long as you do not push less than 2 ohms. Two 4 ohm subs wired parallel will work fine with the 1500. Two 2 ohm subs will not. [ RYAN  Apr 30, 2014 ]
