Win the battle for boom with subwoofers from Sound Ordnance. Throw one or two of these bad boys in your vehicle to give you bass you can feel. You'll love the difference these subs make, and adding them to your system won't destroy your budget.
The M2-8SVC 8" subwoofer comes with a tough glass fiber cone that will keep its shape when the music's turned up, so your bass stays accurate. The butyl rubber surround helps keep the woofer's movement on track, and it'll stay pliable for years to come. The stamped steel basket provides a stable home for the whole assembly, so your bass plays the way it should. Also, Sound Ordnance backs up this sub with a 3-year warranty, giving you peace of mind while you're rocking hard.
To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 120 and 225 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Great sound good price
Perfect sound at an amazing price compared to the big guys. I didn't need competition style gear and just needed some punch. Installed this in my 2000 Jeep Cherokee with the XJ-Pod enclosure. Super clean install and no rattling. Paired with the compact Sound Ordnance amp this thing really kicks the low end. Extremely satisfied.
Pros: Great sound in a compact and economical package.
Very good sub woofer for the price and size.
Pros: Very good sub woofer for the price and size. Use it to replace stock sub woofer, in my 2004 Toyota Avalon. Speaker replacement the install wasn't as bad as I read and seen online.
Cons: Installation instructions could be better.
Impeccable service, ordered past 5pm cutoff on Wednesday and received Friday. This speaker and the blaupuntk amplifier alongside the 4 Rockford fosgate 3 way speakers in the doors is nothing but crisp clean sound. Installed in existing factory opening center rear in 01 maxima.
Pros: Plug and play
Excellent sound at a very good price. Performs as well as sub's twice the price or more.
Awesome speaker for the price. Was surprised at how good and solid it is. Was not looking for a full blown subwoofer, only one to replace the OEM one in my Toyota.
Great sounding and the price was excellent. Toyota wanted $350 just for the speaker, not counting labor. The speaker wasn't that hard to install.
Pretty good subwoofer for the price and size. Use it to replace stock subwoofer on my wife's 2013 Lexus RX350 with Nav Premium 12 speaker package (non Mark Levinson). This plug in right away in stock enclosure. I added a little polyfill in the enclosure.
Pros: Good price Good sensitivity Good xmax Flexible enclosure
Speaker sounds great, fit perfectly in my 2003 Toyota Avalon. Can't be happier.........NOTE: had to modify stock mounting bracket because bolt pattern was different. Kept stock bracket but inverted the screws with longer ones. Fit back in perfectly..!!!
Pros: Great product, great price....., also came with case candy.
Ran a test without a box and it was amazing for a small sub (I know, it needs a box for optimal performance). I use subs to fill in lows and kicks for hard rock, and add depth to my classical - not really into the massive thumping, so can't comment on how these are when really pushed. They seem to respond really great, and you can't beat the price. I expect the sound to be even more defined when I install these in the box in the rear of a 1957 Chevy resto-mod.
Pros: Perfect size, easy to install, really fills in the bottom end
Cons: needs a box (not really a con because I need to build it into a custom location, and I love to do it.)
For small 8" subs, these sound pretty good so far. I built my own special box design and sealed, painted and applied wire ports, then painted with the black bedliner spray for a really good look. Due to space, I really couldn't install 10" or 12" so I went with twin 8" on a 97 Jeep Wrangler TJ and really worked out well!
Pros: Good sound for 8"
Cons: None so far
Great sub at a great price. I used it to replace the stock sub in my Lexus since it was blown out. Now the sound is better than ever. It thumps and bumps all my favorite tunes.
Great product sounds 10 times better the the factory speaker in my Avalon and Crutchfield did a superb job with factory installation info and connectors... look forward to future upgrades
Pros: Great sound. Low priced. Easy install
Excellent sound for the low price.. definitely recommend this.
Great sub for the price! The sub in my 02 Avalon had gotten damaged from time. I found a repair I could do, but then I found this sub. I decided to go for it rather than fix the smaller stock JBL that was in there. Great choice. This one hits harder and sounds better. My only gripe is that the connectors they sent along with it do not fit this speaker from what I could tell and it came with NO instructions on how to attach it, this was frustrating, but I clipped the plugs off, spliced the wires and I was able to get it to work. This was a great buy. A very reasonably priced sub that sounds great....just could have used some better instructions.
Pros: Sounds great! Great Price!
Cons: Lacks instructions.Crutchfield response on March 20, 2017 Jordan, whenever you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, please contact our tech support team right away. They can help you solve the problem and get the sub connected and working! Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Just received my pair of S/O M2-8SVC subs, which I mounted in a home-made twin-chamber box (.35 cu. ft. each) under the back seat of my 2006 Nissan Titan. They are being powered by a Rockford-Fosgate P300-1 mono amp wired in parallel to present a 2-ohm load and 300 watts. After tweaking the gain and LP-HP settings on the HU (Pioneer AVH-4800), these little subs really impress! Tight, solid bass on all types of source material. They are well-made and pretty hefty for a "budget" speaker, and I've owned many different brands of subs in the past. They also come with a nifty rubber "concealment" ring to cover the mounting screws, as well as a "dog tag" and "S/O" decal, and feature a 3-year warranty. Delivered fast and efficiently in Crutchfield style, they really rock!
Pros: Work well in small enclosures. Plenty of power-handling. Eight screw holes instead of four, for tighter seal. Excellent quality for a budget price. Single 4-ohm coil for easy two-speaker parallel wiring. Hefty terminal posts.
Cons: Needs an optional grill with "S/O" logo!
2 of these S/O 8"subs wired parallel to achieve a 2ohm load really fills the cab of nissan frontier(with almost nowhere to mount a bass system) with big booming, clear bass! Would definitely recommend these subs to anyone with limited space. I was really pleasantly surprised at the boom from these little guys! Wow, Crutchfield tips and guides are always spot on. Thanks again Crutchfield team.
Pros: Small size makes for easier choices on where to mount. Lot's of big bass for a small price!
Cons: Nothing bad to say about this product or previously purchased S/O equipment.
Great Factory sub-replacement that was Sun rotted. This is a win-win situation all the way around and has a great price fits perfectly in the factory OEM bracket and sounds phenomenal. What a great recommendation again from my guy Champs
Pros: Direct replacement fit Sounds great Super price
Cons: I didn't do this 4 months ago
I was skeptical when ordering this sub due to the size. I have. Stalled one in a BMW Z3 and another under the rear seat of a tundra. Amazed at the amount of bass produced. You are not going to get SPL out of their sub but I t will definitely fill in the lower end of your stereo and they are small enough to fit almost anywhere. Will definitely buy a couple more for other vehicles.
Pros: Great bass response and sound quality, fits in small spaces
Cons: None yet
Give these little guys a chance I have to of these in a home made box and rumbles the rear of truck with great bass sound amazed buy these little guys.
Pros: Great for very tight spaces nice quality build large magnets.
Sounds good for the price. Fit in my 97 expedition. Had to take heat gun to back of factory enclosure to make it fit, but is fine. Works good with the factory amp too. Good replacement for stock sub.
I totally love this new subwoofer.
Pros: Much improved sound
Cons: Minor alterations though manageable for even me attempting my first car speaker replacement.
I bought this speaker to round out the sound in my daughters Kia Soul. The car came with the Infinity system which sounds great, but was lacking in the low end. The goal was to add a little deeper bass without being heard two blocks away, not take up too much space, and not break the bank. This speaker has fit the bill perfectly so far. I built a small sealed box that would fit into the storage tray in the cargo area to keep the speaker out of the way. Even in a smaller homemade box this speaker sounds great. If you are trying to irritate the neighbors, its definitely not the right speaker, but if you want to add a little extra bass, this speaker does a great job.
nice quality product. I purchased for a stock replacement for a ford expedition, it won't fit the stock sub box. so FYI
Pros: looks good great price
Cons: cant use it, so none that i know of.
I used this in my Ford Ranger combined with the S/O M100-2 amp. No it is not going to rattle the neighbors widows, but it sounds great in my little truck! Sound you can feel!
Works great! Better than the original and easy to install
Great little sub for your money
Pros: Fast free shipping
Had to cut speaker box. Sounds Great
Pros: Ease of wire hook up. Good price, scratch and dent as 10.00 off :)
I compared them to a RF Punch S1 and they are nice and tight sounding. A little bit tighter than the RF but have a great sound
Pros: Great value and great sound especially for a lower powered system. Lots of sound for the power.
Cons: Nothing really negative but the hole cutout does need to be slightly larger over other subs
speaker used on my boat , along with a amp from Crutchfield . sounds awesome , not real expense either !
Pros: Good rich sound !
Cons: Some songs get the speaker thumping , have to cut back control to keep sound down ,
Don't let the name fool you into believing that if it's not a big named product line that it must be cheap. Sound Ordnance is the only speakers and power amps I buy now. You can't beat the price and quality of their products. I've had them in my car for over 2 years with no problems whatsoever. I had everything professionally installed.
Pros: Overall build and Quality
Cons: Zero Cons
Very good sounding speaker for the price , not only that you get a 3 year warranty with it as well, I don't have an amp hooked up to this speaker yet just breaking them in ,but it still sounds good.. I can imagine what it will sound like once i hook the amp. I like the wire hook-up to the speakers, just like the home style speakers.
Pros: Excellent Speaker
This is a great little subwoofer. I purchased to replace a busted OEM subwoofer in my 2002 Ford Expedition. I read some of the forums only before purchasing and I have successfully install this subwoofer and the Sound Ordnance M2100 amplifier in the stock enclosure/location with very little modification. I was able to keep the original power and signal wiring as is but I changed the fuse in the amplifier to a 25A fuse to protect the original power cables. I did have to modify the original subwoofer enclosure. This 8" was too deep for the box b/c of the reverse hump in the back. Online someone said they heated it until it flatten out. I just cut the plastic hump out and filled it with a piece of MDF wood. I did not add any additional poly-fill other than the stock stuff that's in there. I measured the enclosure and it is roughly 0.6 cubic ft which makes it suitable for this subwoofer. Now this is an 8" so don't expect it to do any damage but it is a great upgrade for stock 8" subwoofers. I highly recommend. For the amplifier, I had to remove the shiny silver plastic by removing the screws and tearing off the decorative silver plastic. Fit well in original amplifier location with cup holder removed.
Pros: Great sound from small package
I am using this sub in my 2000 XJ in the Select Increments XJ-Pod 8" Subwoofer box (sealed) for 84-01 Jeep Cherokees. The sub is powered by the Sound Ordnance M-1350 amp and the head-unit is the Alpine CDE-153BT CD Receiver. Together, it sounds great and I wish I had done this years ago.
Pros: Great sound, better than I expected out of an 8" sub, especially for the price! I really like S.O.!
Great value, built like a tank.
Pros: A++ all the way around
I needed some bass in my old vehicle and did not want to spend to much. Called up and spoke to the rep and he suggested the 8" for my application, due to using my old amp for power. Crutchfield is great because they helped me figure out how to bridge the amp that I bought from them in 1999. Lifetime support baby! Anyway, got my sub, built a box to fit under the passengers seat and hooked everything up. It sounds great! Fills in all the sound and thumps like my old 10" sub that I used to have in my truck. My kids love the sound system, and now we have a great time in the car listening to all types of music. Next I'm upgrading the stock door speakers. What will I buy? Sound Ordinance components.
Pros: Full sound with little space
Cons: So loud, could hurt your ears. But that's why I bought it.

price and reviews. I am also limited on space for the box it will go in. I have a full size extended cab truck but ABSOLUTELY DO NOT want to use up all the space for just a speaker box. This will replace the VERY old and wore out 12 in. R.F. Since I have had great success with Rockford Fos. I was going to purchase another, but I think this speaker will be a great replacement and for an UNBEATABLE price !! Look forward to using it ! [ kenneth Mar 01, 2017 ]

THis was not an issue for me. I actually stripped the connections off to expose the wires, because it has a positive and negative. It sounds good in my 02 Tahoe [ DEMARLON Aug 04, 2015 ]
I had no issue when I replace the Sub in our 2002 Avalon XL, just make sure you get the wires connected properly to match the impedance or the other speakers. It will work either way but will sound better if all are in sync. You will be able to tell by listening, if it does not sound correct just reverse the wires. [ Roger Aug 03, 2015 ]
If you are saying your vehicle has two wires connected to the current subwoofer, then this unit will work fine. If your vehicle has 4 wires connected to the existing subwoofer then you have a Dual Voice Coil setup. Most aftermarket amplifiers will allow you to bridge the two outputs into one (two wires) for a SVC speaker. Some OEM radios will allow you to just connect one pair of speaker leads. If you have a DVC setup (4 wires) currently, you can find nice DVC subwoofers on the Crutchfield site. [ William Aug 03, 2015 ]
NO this will not be a issue [ Anthony Aug 03, 2015 ]
Mitch, I replaced the factory sub in a 1998 Ford Expedition. The factor amp was existing and I would assume the crossover was built into the amp. I would say yes you would. Good luck. [ TIMOTHY J Mar 19, 2014 ]
I didn't I just hooked it up to my stock stereo in my Chrysler 300 class c and it sounds great! [ DEAN Mar 18, 2014 ]
