Powerful sound

Sound Ordnance component speakers invade your car's listening space with clear sonic reproduction that'll mobilize your music. You'll enjoy the new life these rugged speakers bring to your system, all at a budget-friendly price.

The P-52C 5-1/4" component system sports tough polypropylene woofers that can handle just about any musical onslaught. Mount the separate 3/4" silk dome tweeters in a strategic spot, and they'll deploy all the musical details — you'll enjoy improved definition without harshness. Outboard 2-way crossovers direct the frequencies to the speakers for a balanced sonic attack. The black powder-finished stamped steel frames tell you that these Sound Ordnance components mean business, while a 3-year warranty gives you peace of mind for the long haul.

Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.

Excellent sound for a great price...!

2003 Dodge Durango
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was originally looking to order the Rockford's but when I went to place my order, they were out of stock, so I spoke to a rep who recommended this set... I wanted a matching brand/series 2-ways for my back doors and this had that match... The cross-overs were easy to connect and install even with being the first ever component set I've ever installed...

Pros: Clean, crisp, clear sound from both the tweeter and the woofer...

Cons: The size of the cross-over "box" did limit the installation location options...

These are the first sound ordinance speakers I purchased and took a gamble on them based off of the reviews on the crutchfield site. That being said the reviews are pretty accurate you get great sound for a great price! These speakers are really clear when installed to an amp which is where the tweeter really shines!

Pros: Great quality for great price!

Cons: None so far!

Ok entry level speakers. The speakers feel like the made in China. Not much to say both positive and negative, but I should have not rolled the dice with these and should have got bigger and better quality speaker system.

Pros: Inexpensive and easy to install.

Cons: Feel cheap and sound low quality. Bass is bad and nonexistent. The crossover dose not do a good job.

2006 Ford Fusion
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these speakers to replace factory components on a 2006 Ford Fusion. I also replaced the stock head unit with a Sony WG-GT90-BT. The sound was definitely better than the factory gear but I wanted more. I returned these speakers for some Kicker 41KSS54's and am very glad I did. These speakers probably sound as good as any other speaker at this price point, but it wasn't enough for me. Crutchfield support was superb.

Pros: Price.

Cons: Harsh highs.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The mids are pathetic my 15 year old stock speakers are better than this junk save your money!

Pros: The tweeters are ok the crossovers are descent

Cons: Pathetic, I thought perhaps the xover was consuming all the power so I hooked them up direct to the stereo output and nothing, at the same level on the stereo I get about half the volume of a factory speaker. Save your money .

Mind Blown

Joe M from Clearwater, FL on 9/12/2015

2000 Ford Expedition
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I only went 4 stars, because I'm hard pressed to ever rate something a 5. For the money or even $75-$100 more, you can not beat these speakers. I mounted the woofers in the factory location, and the tweeters in the A- Pillars of my 2000 Expedition. I also bought the P57's for my rear door. They are running off of an after market head unit, and no amp. For $60, I was expecting something slightly better than factory with a less muddy sound. These tweeters are BRIGHT, which is good. I haven't yet messed with the -3db switch because the crossovers are tough to reach where I mounted them, but I will. The brightness isn't a factor for me, because I listen to a LOT of rock and Raggae, and everything sounds clean. If I were to compare these to any past speakers I have owned, I would say the lowest end Focal or the Polk DB5 separates, but these have a LITTLE bit more mid-bass than either of these. I had originally ordered an amp and sub (for the factory enclosure) elsewhere, but am cancelling that order and adding an S/O 8" sub off of the factory sub amp. These speakers do not need the amp if you're using an aftermarket HU, UNLESS you're adding in bigger/multiple subs (which is with any system, really). Long story short, I'm VERY impressed, and will be putting the same setup in my other vehicle. For under $100, the sound I'm experiencing from the P52C and the P57 pairing can't be beat.

Pros: Inexpensive, clean sound, easy install, thorough package contents (wiring, tweeter mounting hardware), suprisingly well built.

Cons: Absolutely none

P52C: great deal

Great sound especially for the price. The instructions for this and the other items I purchased were a great help and the delivery was fast.

Pros: Dollar for dollar a great deal.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very clear sound overall. The tweeters make the highs very clear for the perfect soundstage in my '09 Ford Escape. The woofers sound a lot better adding the correct bass blockers to keep the mids in time with the tweeters. No rattling of the woofers at all. Very good choice to use to replace larger factory speakers.

Pros: Awesome soundstage in a small package!

Cons: None

2003 Saturn L200
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I listen primarily to aggressive metal. I installed P-52's in the front and the P-52C system in the back of my Saturn L200. I've also included the B-8PTD because the weakness of the speaker size, 5-1/4, is a lack of low end. Since everything I listen to is down-tuned, this was a necessary addition. I'm absolutely blown away by the quality of the system given how relatively inexpensive it is. It can do Meshuggah as loud as I can stand without distortion. The install was pretty straightforward and very well though through by Sound Ordnance and Crutchfield. For aggressive music with a moderate budget (less than $350 for four woofers, the sub, and two tweeters), I don't think you could possibly do much better. For rap and metal you'll need a sub to supplement the low end, otherwise the system works great for everything I've played.

Pros: Outstanding sound quality, good output, has handled everything I've played so far punch and precision.

Cons: The instructions aren't as clear as they could be for us electrical noobies. I needed a little extra wire to put the tweeters onto the sails of my rear doors. The lower mid range of the system is smurfed a little because of the speaker size, so if you have an EQ on your head unit, I'd boost the lower mids.

2002 Acura RSX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price these things sound great. If you are in the market for component speakers you definitely need to give these a shot. I have these powered by a 500 watt Alpine 4 channel and the sound is crisp, well defined and caries extremely well. The mids are a little lacking in bass but if you are buying components then you should already be looking at subs to complete your sound profile. I built my system on a budget and these definelty make you think twice about spending the cash on nicer units

Pros: Price!!!! Sound quality ease of installation

Cons: Bass could be a little more from the miss

Great little speakers for the front doors of my 2001 Honda Civic. I like my sound a little bright and these really fit the bill. Bought the p52c set for my Jeep Cherokee. Direct replacement for front doors. Plus a crossover and tweeter!! for the price of a mid level 2 range door speaker. Had no problems mounting, all hardware was included. Love the sound!! Goes well with my subs. Thinking about ordering the p 65c for my rear hatch area.

Pros: Sound is great! Great fit. Nice look too!

Cons: Nothing worth writing about..

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We bought these speakers to install in a customer's VW camper van. They replaced a set of cheap, too small, flea market brand speakers - so the difference in sound is incredible. They look good, and installed fairly easily where the factory separates had been. Would have been nice if some speaker wire had been included, but at this price point, that might be asking a little much.

Pros: Value, fit, sound.

Cons: No speaker wires included.

I installed the speaker in a 99 LeSabre. The speakers were easy to install, just a little bit of ingenuity, to mount the tweeter. The old car now has great sound that makes the XM worth the cost.

Pros: Perfect fit for the 5 1/4

Cons: A little work to get the tweeters to mount

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

the tweeters sound great but the speakers are not what i was hoping for. i have 2 12 inch type r's and they basically took over these speakers and you couldn't really hear anything. i was running these and a pair of kickers off of a sound ordnance 4 channel. when i was replacing the speakers with 5x7's, the terminals on one of the speakers completely broke off and the speaker was unusable. cheap, not worth the price in my opinion

Pros: tweeters sound and look good

Cons: cheaply made, weak mids, not very loud at all

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Im am very pleased with the quality and the sound of these speakers. I purchased them to replace the two stock 6x8s in the back and the infinity 6x8s I put in the front doors. These are superior in sound to either set of speakers. The bass is very adequate for mid bass woofers, when I first turned them on I had to check if my subwoofer was off because of the bass. It was off. The sound is fantastic. The highs are very crisp and clear and the mids are very well heard. the infinities I had would muffle with the bass, these do not. Even at high volume they stay crisp clear and sounding perfect. I would recommend these to any audiophile as they sound better than any other speakers Ive ever owned with the exception of the Alpine type R components I had in my old Honda. Im running an Alpine 305s headunit to power these speakers. the power is adequate and makes everything loud enough for me....and my neighbors.

Pros: The sound clarity The highs The lows The price

Cons: havent found any yet.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these for the front door of my sons vehicle. He is 17 and we have built a nice system in his car using Sound Ordinance gear. For the $ - am very happy. The tweeters are very clear and mids and very good. He also has 6x8 S/O in rear deck and 2 -12 inch Rockford subs driven by S/O mono amp in S/O bass bunker. As he says - he needs a big S/O sticker or Crutchfield to sponsor his car for all the S/O gear we have used. We are very happy.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ok bought these because I had faith in Crutchfields signature brand. I just got them installed and noticed that these components don't put out alot of bass at all. The highs are really good and the mids are just ok. I should of spent a little more and got something else. Its not really a big deal since these are just front and rear speakers. They work ok for that. I do have a kicker 4 channel amp thats running them..

I installed these speakers in a Toyota Tacoma and found that the sound was noticeably crisp and clearer than what I had in there before. You would need to have other large woofers to make up for any bass that you may be looking for. We already had other larger speakers to compliment these. Hope this helps. [ GREGG  Aug 03, 2015 ]
They provide a nice crisp sound, they definetely benefit from a sub though. They do have all the wiring and what is needed for mounting the tweeters for various mounting which is a plus in my book. I mounted in door of 2004 f150,mounted the crossoverbehind door panel, allowing to get at the switch for different crossover option switch it has (after removing the window switch panel, an easy/quick job)In the end you must decide about the room you have and which you think will fit the best in your situation.
