Grado Headphone Extension Cable
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Works great with no high frequency roll off.
Grado's 15-foot extension cable gives you some room to roam. Now you can get comfy on the couch and keep your headphones on, even when your components are across the room. Plus, you can daisy-chain up to three of these cables together for an even longer run of 45 feet. This cable is made using the same high-quality wire used in Grado's headphone cable, so you won't have to worry about any signal degradation.
Works great with no high frequency roll off.

Works great with no high frequency roll off.
I like this cable. Medium weight. Flexible. Quality plugs.
Perfect compliment to my Grado headphones. Allows me to listen from across the room with exact same clarity as if using the original headphone cord. Plus a "too good" to be true price point. As always free and speedy shipping from Crutchfield.
Does what it's supposed to. Long, supple, solidly built.
Pros: Supple and long. Solid
Cons: Nothng I can see.
This is a well made headphone extension cable. It's made from the exact wire in my 325's. Sound is neutral.
As described. Came with a big to keep it in. I liked it so much I ordered a second.
Pros: Bends easily but it maintains a set when you straighten it out..
High quality materials and great sound
It's exactly what you'd expect from Grado. Nice weight, very flexible, works perfectly.
Pros: Feels great in the hands, no connectivity issues.
Well made good heavy cord .
First of all my cable came in a open pouch, which is a little unusual and it also looked used. But when I hooked it up to my TH900's it sounded ok. The length and build quality is good.
Pros: Build Quality
Cons: None Yet
Initially, I was a little skeptical at the usefulness of this cable, given its price, considering my 'phones were little more than twice the price. However, upon receiving it (they even give you a little resealable storage bag) and taking it out of the packaging, it was clear to me that this was a quality accessory. The length is perfect when combined with my SR80e's own cord reaching from my Yamaha RX-A3020 with room to spare and solid connections on both the terminating and receiving connectors for a solid fit for carrying the signal. It is built very well and the jacket is very rugged but flexible for lying flat and not being ungainly. It's heavy enough that you would not want to be using this taught between both your cans and your listening device and unless it's a solid component, the heft will likely pull whatever you have connected off its surface. If that's the case, you should probably find a new seating location. I don't have a means to test this electrically, but I feel confident that it doesn't compromise on the delicate signal driving my cans. The flex reliefs on both ends of the cable are welcome and useful additions and there is plenty of gripping surface with ribbing to ensure you can adequately support the efforts needed to seat and disconnect your various connections accordingly.
Pros: Well-built Quality materials used throughout Length is perfect for my uses
Cons: Price may be a deterrent but you'll quickly overlook it after you use it for the first time
I'm not sure that these sound better than the old coiled extension cable that I used to have, but I definitely like the fact that they don't have a coiled cord. I was willing to buy another set of inexpensive coiled ones again, but the local Walmart and K-mart didn't stock them. So I decided to just pay a little more and order the Grado's, and figured that it might sound better too. Seems to be well built and it sound great with my Sennheiser HD-650 headphones ... currently, I'm driving with the headphone jack on my NAD C 326BEE integrated amplifier, and I don't notice a difference in sound quality when I bypass the Grado's and plug the phones in directly. Maybe with other setups or listeners, a difference could be noticeable, but the Grado Headphone Extension Cable is 100% transparent to me.
Pros: Nice build quality, no coiled cord, and completely transparent sound for my setup/ears.
Cons: Priced a little more than I wanted to pay, but no buyer's remorse after living with them.
Very high quality cable! Pricey, but well worth the cost. Easy to maintain without getting tangled up or twisted. Maintains the high quality sound of my Grado headphones while increasing distance from the amplifier.
Pros: High quality, does not tangle easily.
Cons: None found yet!
High quality headphone cable. Large but very flexible cable with quality jacks and good strain relief. Comes with a vinyl storage bag.
Solid construction, no degradation in sound, good length. Have accidentally stepped on the connector with no damage.
Pros: Solid build/Quality of connection
Cons: A bit pricey
Simple, straightforward product with the excellent quality we've come to expect from Grado.
with the standard factory cord being too short for what I needed, This high-quality extension from Grado seemed (and is) the perfect choice. Very nice quality with thick cord and nice plugs on both ends, I believe this would provide the perfect addition to any ones headphone needs. I recommend for any and all in search of more length in their applications. No loss in audio sound quality!! These should last the entire length of time of any set of cans, regardless of who much they are used (mine are used daily). Excellent value and build quality from simply the best headphone makers.
Pros: sturdy, nice length, thick & solid build quality, and very nice plug ends.
High quality product. I used this cable to extend the reach of the Grado SR60e headphones. This cable did not introduce any distortion to the headphones and made the headphones that much better to use.
Just what I needed! Durable and well made. Not chincy thin and poorly made.
Pros: Durable, well made.
Need a adapter for Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones
Pros: waiting for the headphone
A very nice ,well manufactured cord. worth every penny invested
Very solid and pro styling,perfect
Pros: Built to last, an extension of the quality of their headphones, not a cheap acc.,no degradation in sound quality, price very fair
Needed to extend my earphone and this works very well. Have been an audiophile since 1958 and have the best gear I can affoerd in my AV system. This extension works very well and to my ears and has no loss of fidelity.
Pros: Fits my system very well and easy to set up
Cons: none noted
Good strong cable, well made, tight connectors
Pros: Serves the purpose
Works perfectly - no noticeable loss in sound quality.
The head Phone extension cable not only sounds excellent but it is well worth the price. I went to an electronics store to buy a head phone extension cable and, while I paid less than $10, it was horrible. You really do get what you pay for .This cable delivers the goods and is an excellent addition to my home system.
Pros: Value, build quality, and sound quality. Good sound is not cheap. Shopping at Crutchfield is a pleasure.
I was looking for a high-quality extension cable to go with my studio-grade headphones when watching movies through my HT system late at night. This one worked out perfectly - I could not discern any degradation of sound. Solid, durable construction, and definitely a keeper.
Pros: Durable, ample length, exceptional quality
Cons: None so far
Recently acquired Sennheiser HD700 headphone required an extension cable to permit greater mobility in my music room. The Sennheiser technical representative to whom I spoke stated the company does not endorse an extension, recognizing the prospect of degrading fidelity attributed to this audiophile quality headphone. My research led to deciding between a custom-made 15 foot Mogami 2534 1/4" TDR Male-to-1/4" TDR Female cable or this Grado headphone extension cable offered by Crutchfield. The consistently high customer ratings, company reputation, and price associated with the Grado cable were compelling. I made the RIGHT decision. This is an EXCELLENT product!
Pros: (1) Seamlessly (without degradation) extends HD700 audio; (2) Male and female connections between headphone amplifier and HD700 cable tight and secure; (3) Robust but pliable black cable; (4) Packaged in Grado-sealed vinyl pouch. As always, superior Crutchfield pricing (with Rewards points), ordering, processing, tracking, delivery, and follow-up.
A quality product as others have said. Functional. Connectors are solid, precise. Reasonably soft cable but kinkiness lingers, does not coil smoothly nor readily. An attribute of wires or cables of any stripe - always a problem without a genuine solution. Bare basics of packing is, well... ultra-basic. Almost laughable: black-plastic sealed bag. Cable is for use with the ultra-luxe Yamaha Pro 500 headphones - that are packaged in the opposite extreme of excessiveness. A stark contrast.
Pros: Good value; longevity an assumed aspect. Extended reach afforded by the cable's length is very useful.
Cons: None. It does its job, as advertised, as expected.
Extension cord is very well constructed and does not coil up. Connection to headphone jack is solid.Sound quality is very very good. This is my second pair and they are by far worth the cost.
Pros: quality made cord, very good connection jactk, no coiling in cord.
Cons: their is none to be found
high quality and tough, connection points are also high quality,i think it needs a short amount of burn in time kind of like an interconnect cable.the length is nice if you want to go to the fridge or whatever.a very good bargain and hey its from grado.music sounds beautiful through it.
Pros: will last a long time and very flexible to prevent tangles
There are many headphone extension cables on the market that are much cheaper than this one. However as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. This is a very high quality cable which is very soft. Works great with my Sennheiser HD 650.
Pros: High quality. Soft.
Sleeper product. Exceptional quality for the price. No frills packaging, all the cost is in the product. You could easily pay 4-5 x as much for audiophile quality headphone extension cable.
Pros: Great value, high quality products. Exceptional value for quality product

Grado is a reputable brand and I recently purchased a phono preamp with headphone jack. I will probably be purchasing headphones I can dedicate to this use but will use the ones I have for now until I consult one of your experts to decide on what to buy. [ richard Oct 15, 2017 ]
