Hot tune for 60's,80's and 125's

Anonymous from New Bedford, MA on 11/27/2017

For people that want the pressure IN their pinna, not ON their pinna. The concave design of the "L" cushion provides a huge comfort improvement over the "S" cushion that's OE on the 60's,80's and 125's.It also provides a better circumaural seal at the periphery due to the same headband clamping force applied to a smaller surface area with the same mechanical compliance of the foam used in the "S" cushion.

The veil is gone!

Mario from San Juan, PR on 5/6/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these for my Grado SR80e. The reason I bought these, is because I have an SR325e that came with these cushions, which then i try on the SR80e. The sound on the SR80e with these cushions seems like a veil is been lifted. Everything sounds more clear and detail. I don't find these cushion uncomfortable in any way.

Easy to swap, perfect fit

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My old foam was getting crusty so I bought these replacements. It is super easy to replace the old ones. If you have a pair of foam Grados, you will eventually need these, don't hesitate.

Pros: Easy to replace, perfect fit

Cons: None

They sound the best for the SR325i. They're not scratchy and they smell delicious.

Pros: Comfort, style, fashion

Cons: They cost money and are not free like they should be.

Grado L-Cusions

Mariopoli from Los Angeles California on 4/15/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These cushions replace old ones that tend to disintegrate after a decade of use. They are identical to the original ones on the Grado 325.

Pros: My old cushions desintigrated after 10 years of use. The new cushions made my Grado 320's look and feel like new.

Cons: They came in a tight bag with the cushions slightly compressed. A little while after unpackaging they fully expanded.

Grado L-cushion

Lew from Ohio on 4/7/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These returned my Grado SR80 to their original glory. I have the original SR80 which first came with L-cushions, but those eventually lost their shape and started falling off and allowing the plastic edge of the headphones to slip through.

Cons: Out of the package, they were much more firm than my originals and not only were extremely uncomfortable, but the sound was just not right. After giving them a soak with warm water and shampoo, they felt and sounded like the originals.

Great product for replacing original Grado SR125 headphone ear pads. Great packing and incredibly fast shipping by Crutchfield. Biodegradable packing peanuts really appreciated as our cat pounced on the open box, and ate one before I could catch him.

Pros: Much better than stock ear pads

Bought to replace standard pads on Grado 60s. Much more comfortable (at least for my ears) with improved resolution.

Pros: Improved comfort and sound.

Cons: None observed, but a little pricey (worth it in my case).

Grado L-Cushions

Pete from Chesapeake, Va. on 12/2/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These feel and look like the original cushions that came on my Grado 325i headphones. These are for the upper level Grado's, the lower level phones, 60's, 80's 125"s etc use a different cushion, these may not work well with them and visa versa.

Pros: Just like the originals

Cons: none as long as you put them on the right phones.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these pads for my Grado SR80i to replace the comfies that came with the SR80i thinking that these L-Cush pads were going to be more comfortable. Boy was I wrong! These pads are very painful on your ears after 40 minutes of use. Since there is a hole in the middle of these pads, the actual plastic housing of the driver will be resting on top of your ear. At first, it's bearable. But after 30-40 minutes of use, the pressure of the driver on your ears becomes so excrutiating, that you have no choice but to remove the headphones and recuperate for this pain. The original comfies that come with the SR80i are far more comfortable than these pads. As for sound, these pads do enhance the overall depth of the music, since there is a hole in the middle, allowing more highs and somewhat the mids to come through. As for the bass (the lower frequency), at least in my opinion, I think they're not as good and less noticeable compared to the comfies. I was so disappointed with these pads that after using it for about 3 hours, removing the headphones from time-to-time to ease the pain on my ears, I decided to contact Crutchfield and asked for a refund because ot the comfort level and also because of the poor bass response.

prefer these to stock cushions on SR80i

Gary R from Abilene, TX on 1/16/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After a few days of use, I now prefer these to the stock pads on my Grado SR80is. They are pretty stiff right out of the bag and take some getting used to, but after a day or two they feel much better and the small improvements to the sound is worth it to me. I feel they boos the clarity slightly (the driver is exposed) and boost the bass a little as well. It's not a night and day improvement at all, but enough that I feel like they were a good buy.

Pros: slightly alter the sound, gives a greater distance between the ear and the driver

Cons: A little to firm out of the box. I feel a little silly paying $20 for two pieces of shaped foam. $10-12 would be more appropriate.
