Our take on the Da-Lite 78680 Perm-Wall Screen

If you have a projector and sufficient wall space, a fixed-frame screen like this Da-Lite Perm-Wall model can provide outstanding picture quality.

If you have a projector and sufficient wall space, a fixed-frame screen like this Da-Lite Perm-Wall model can provide outstanding picture quality.

The sturdy aluminum frame assembles easily in minutes without tools. By attaching the screen to the frame with the provided snaps, the screen is stretched flat to provide a smooth, uniform surface for the projected image. The frame's black powder-coat finish looks stylish, while also concealing projector overshoot and boosting the visual punch.

This 106" screen features Da-Lite's Pearlescent surface, which provides greater reflectivity and brilliance than matte white screens without loss of image quality. Pearlescent works well with lower output projectors in rooms with relatively high ambient light present. This surface provides moderate viewing angles.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far I have to give this 5 stars. This combined with my Epson 8350 and 7.1 surround sound is a nice set up for my living room. I debated on getting a pull-down screen, but I am glad I didn't. If you have a wall dedicated to this then it is a great product. The picture is great no matter what the lighting in my room is (although the darker the better). The only draw back I have noticed so far is that it does not come with any mounting hardware, That is not a big deal for me since I have it fixed to the wall with no plans on moving it. However if the frame came with mounting brackets that would allow you to remove it easily if needed, that would be a big plus. Other than that, I can't think of anything I don't like about it yet. I have had the set-up for about a week now and I have been enjoying the movies and gaming.

Pros: Light weight easy to clean easy to install great picture quality in a somewhat lit room

Cons: No mounting hardware. Have to drill holes in frame and screw into wall using own hardware.

Product Research

Overview: The Da-Lite Perm-Wall is a fixed frame, non-retractable projection screen, designed to be permanently mounted to a wall or in a wall opening. It has a black, powder-coated aluminum frame that provides a perfectly flat viewing surface for graphic and data video projection. It comes with the Pearlescent screen fabric.

Viewing Area: The screen has a 106" (diagonal) viewing area with a 16:9 aspect ratio, perfect for viewing your HDTV programs and movies. The viewing area is 52" high and 92" wide.

Screen Surface: The Pearlescent screen surface offers a higher amount of reflectivity and brilliance without loss of image quality or resolution. It has a gain factor of 1.5, and is a good choice when used with a lower output projector, or where there a high amount of ambient light. It has a moderate viewing angle of +/-40° from center. The screen surface is washable with mild soap and water, flame retardant, and mildew resistant.

Installation: This Da-Lite projection screen is designed to be permanently wall-mounted. The frame requires assembly using the plastic corner brackets and supplied hardware. The assembled frame should be fastened to the wall with appropriate fasteners for the type of wall construction. No hardware is included for mounting the frame to the wall. After mounting the frame, the viewing surface is snapped onto the frame.
