Marine digital media receiver with built-in Bluetooth®
Our take on the JBL PRV170 by Crutchfield's Jon Paulette
A new take on the marine receiver
JBL's PRV170 marine digital media receiver will change the way you listen to music on your boat — without forcing you to cut or change your boat.
This digital media receiver packs a lot of features into a compact design that fits into a standard tachometer opening. You'll enjoy AM/FM radio, of course, plus built-in Bluetooth that lets you stream music from your Android phone. You can also use the rear aux input for your music player, or plug a thumb drive into the rear USB port to enjoy your favorite music files.
The PRV170 includes two sets of rear-mounted preamp outputs, so you can expand your system with a marine amp in the future. The LED display tells you what you're listening to with just a glance, while the watertight, UV-stable face and controls will stand up to sun, salt and moisture when you're riding the waves.

2 answers In the overview, it mentions that you can use the bluetooth function to connect to an android phone. There is no mention of using an iPod. Under the specs, anything about an iPod is marked as "N/A". My question is, "Will I be able to connect my iPhone, iPod, iPad or any bluetooth enabled iOS device or is it just android? I use my specifically with my iPhone 4S. Haven't had any problems with it and love it this far. Running 2 6 1/2" speakers and an 8" 100 watt powered bazooka tube. I will say it would be best to actually read the manual when doing initial syncing with phone or iPod. Hope this helps. Enjoy [ JOSHUA C Jan 02, 2014 ]
