Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
An absolute breeze to put together. Even more simple than furniture i have seen, which may be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. No tool assembly is just that. It's effective, but time will tell how durable the unit will be. Interestingly, the color seems to vary somewhat from the photo. The internal shelving almost looks like it comes from a different piece of furniture. It is of a much darker stain than the exterior. I was actually hoping that the exterior color would be more like the internal shelving color, but the overall color is nice. It is of little consequence however, since once you put equipment on the shelf and close the glass door, you can't see the color difference. If you intend to put any equipment on the bottom shelf, depending on the size of the equipment, using or viewing it may be hampered by the fact that the equipment is obstructed by the framing of the door and the door itself. They should maybe consider adding two inexpensive shelves for the bottom of the unit, as removing DVD's and using certain equipment man be hampered by their location. The hole location for wires in the rear is also oddly placed. You only get one on each side. It is as if the designers want you to use only the two top shelves for equipment with cables side by side. I made it work, and you can always cut new holes, but I'm not a fan of butchering new furniture. 4 holes cut in the rear would make a more effective design. Slightly larger would be better too.
Pros: Easy to assemble. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. Good value.
Cons: Partially obstructed bottom shelf. Stain color not consistent throughout. Could benefit from more and larger openings in the rear for cables.
