Stylish with great sound despite the emphasis on the bass
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Overall the T5 is a great bluetooth speaker. It looks stylish (I bought it in white) and sounds great - if a little too bassy at times. I've noticed that the focus on the bass often hides some of the subtleties that can be found in some of my music. This was noticeable when I listened to Portishead's 'Portishead' album for the first time through the T5. Don't get me wrong, I like bass but sometimes I don't feel like I'm getting the full musical picture out of these speakers. However, I didn't buy these speakers to be my main set of house speakers so if I want to listen to a truer sound I'll always turn to my main hi-fi set-up and pull out my vinyl and cd's. I bought the T5 so that I could listen to digital music, internet radio and podcasts in any room in my house, from my laptop or phone without having to plug portable speakers into the respective headphone sockets. In this way I couldn't be happier with the T5. I can now listen to good quality sound in any room of the house without having to be confined to my music room. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so that I can try out these speakers out doors on the deck while I'm working in the yard or just relaxing in the sun! The handle is a great feature as it makes it easy to carry from room to room. There is a 3.5 mm input to connect your playback device direct to the speaker if you don't fancy using bluetooth, and the ability to charge your device via a USB input is another great feature.
Pros: Stylish. Portable despite needing a power supply. Carrying handle. 3.5 mm phono input and usb input for mobile device charging charging. Great price.
Cons: Too much focus on bass, hence the subtleties of a song can be lost or pushed to the background.
