Crown's XLS DriveCore Series power amplifiers don't just pack a lot of juice into a chassis that'll make the suspension on your touring van happy — they deliver the reliability you'll need when laying down tracks in the studio, storming clubs, or rousing the congregation. DriveCore technology is highly efficient and complements your sonics nicely, so you'll notice reduced distortion, even when you're turned up to eleven. These amps integrate nicely into nearly any setup thanks to their wealth of connections, and the built-in crossover system gives you the flexibility to work with different speaker setups.
Patented DriveCore technology from Crown allows their XLS amps to maintain high efficiency even when they're being powered by untrustworthy AC current. Unstable electrical loads typically introduce heavy noise into most Class D amps, but the DriveCore circuit keeps the distortion to practically zero, even when powered by the dirtiest of AC lines. So even if you've got to plug in near a lighting rig or other backline gear, XLS amps wipe away interference so your signal stays smooth as glass.
Crown's XLS 2000 amplifier dishes out 375 watts RMS per channel at 8 ohms, 650 watts per channel at 4 ohms, and up to 2100 watts in bridged mode — not bad for less than 11 pounds of gear. Because it's a highly efficient Class D amp, it relies on internal heat sinks with forced-air cooling to keep the internal temperature under control, with an automated rear fan that kicks in if you're pushing the amp hard. The amp's optimized switched-mode power supply keeps things humming smoothly from start to finish.
The amp's front panel offers independent level control knobs and LEDs, an on/off switch, LCD screen, and three menu control buttons. The LCD screen lets you configure the amp mode, clip compressor, and crossover configuration with ease.
The rear of the XLS 2000 is a veritable treasure trove of connections. You'll find balanced XLR inputs, 1/4" inputs, and RCA inputs, so you can get creative with your audio sources. The 1/4" connectors also serve as loop-thrus for adding more amps to the mix. You'll find binding posts and Neutrik Speakon® outputs for the speakers, plus a built-in circuit breaker to protect against overload.
Are you working with a subwoofer, multiple speakers, or floor monitors? Maximize the XLS 2000's energy by employing the integrated PureBand Crossover System. It lets you choose the crossover point just about anywhere between 50 and 3000 Hz, and gives you steep 24 dB/octave slopes for seamless transitions between different drivers. Your choice of four different crossover modes let you configure your system to nearly any situation or speaker setup, whether you need big-time boom or to hear the high notes above the fray. And the settings can all be adjusted right from the amp's front panel.
Crown's Peakx Limiters give you the confidence to push your system hard without shutting down the entire production. You'll be able to push the volume up safely without fear of sonic garbage littering the audience's ears or wrecking your speakers. Crown put the independent Peakx Limiters on each channel and they're defeatable right from the front panel.

Easy to set up. Gives a crisp and perfect sound.
I have replace my old power amp for Crown XLS 2000 when it arrived box was so lite weight, when I opened the box I though I would be returning amp for a refund. construction of the amp is very good and it does not have heavy transformer the sound is very good I hooked it up with my behringer 18" sub without external crossover using built-in crossover filter bridge mono and BOOM great sound and I have noticed that lights don't flicker at high volume. this amp is easier to carry from gig to gig. THANK YOU !
Pros: Lite weight very easy to move around, Built-in Pure Band Crossover System very easy to setup, very good sound without clipping, power consumption is low
Cons: None so far
Wasn't happy with my 2 Polk PSW-505's boomy bass. They claim low extension to 27Hz but that's optimistic. I needed something for 60-<20Hz so I'm building a few different enclosures, all of which require hundreds of watts. I currently have this XLS-2000 bridged mono low pass set to 56Hz on only 2 Polk Momo 12"s. It's rated at 1300 watts RMS at this 8 ohm load, way over the RMS rating of the 12"s but oh my goodness. I sure got what I was after. I have it hooked to a LFE output of my Onkyo 727 receiver. I still have a Polk PSW-505 connected on the other LFE to cover the "gap" between the Crown and mains. This amp is rated at 2100 watts into 4 ohms bridged and I'm sure it will no sweat.
Pros: RCA inputs!!!! Quiet. Extremely light. Soft turn on doesn't trip breaker. Built in high pass and low pass filters in both bridged mono, stereo, or one channel can be high mono and other channel low pass mono simultaneously. Easy to use. 3 Year Warranty!!!!
Cons: Input not as sensitive as inputs on typical home subwoofer packages. I had to turn output of all channels to minimum on Onkyo, with sub out to +6 to get anywhere near enough signal to the Crown. Your sub pre out varies with brand and model. I hooked the Crown to the LFE of my old Onkyo and got much better response. I've ordered a small mic mixer with RCA in/out to boost my gain.
Its a beautiful machine easy connection
Pros: Nice clear crisp sound
Cons: No remote it really needs one if i need to change the volume level u have to walk over and adjust the nobs if its plugged into the TV it still doesn't change if u turn down your TV volume
After a bit of research, mostly online after a recommendation from a friend, I saw the Crown amps on your website and reviewed the information available. With your prices, tech support and return policy, it was an easy decision to commit to the purchase and pull the trigger on two of them.
Pros: Very economical, flexible, durable power amps with a very good reputation, and easy to hook up.
Cons: None yet although I wish there was a remote control to power them on and off.
