From our review of the DreamWave Tremor weatherproof Bluetooth portable speaker

"I discovered just how rugged the Tremor is when I accidentally dropped it in the Crutchfield parking lot. I had an 'uh oh' moment when it smacked the pavement. But after quickly looking it over I couldn't find a scratch. [The Tremor] fired right up and played flawlessly."

The sound is amazing! Hands down the best portable speaker I have ever had. The full bodied sound that emanates from this devices is astounding. I would recommend the Tremor hands down. Best investment. Going to buy another one for the surround sound.

Pros: Wonderful sound, easily pairs and provides hours of pure sound amazement.

Cons: Wish it had a battery indicator.

Week long party

Bjammin101 from Houston, TX on 7/17/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The battery life is great, the sound is loud and clear cranked all the way up, and you can do anything but drop it in a pool of water. (See my YouTube video). It doesn't sound as good as a Sonos Play 5 but for Bluetooth, it's good. You can feel free to take this to your weekend party without the charger because you probably won't need it!

Pros: Battery life Almost completely waterproof Good sound quality from a Bluetooth speaker even at high volumes Ability to charge phone and connect with NFC Simple operation with only 4 buttons

Cons: Directional sound No cool voice alerts or prompts No way to check remaining battery life or current volume level (must use phone for volume level) Lack of equalizer or app to adjust sound User manual is terrible with many errors Heavy

Rock On!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This bluetooth speaker has the sound of a home system. It sounds better as you turn it up!

Pros: Long battery life and excellent bass. It is well built and has a great carrying strap.

Cons: The only con would be its weight, however it's performance makes up for it.

Poor initial experience

Nicholas from Buffalo, NY on 6/26/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall the product's sound quality is excellent. However, I've had this product for two weeks now and have spent more time troubleshooting than listening. The 20 minutes of play time I was able to listen to I was blown away with the sound quality. As good as the sound was I've spent probably 2 hours on the phone with Crutchfield and Dreamwave support; due to no sound even though the bluetooth connection completes. Neither support staff member had an answer for me, both offered to send a replacement device. I'd wait for a few more review before purchasing this product...

Pros: Good sound quality

Cons: Poor connection Sound just stops after a few minutes Manual is useless and contains many errors

Features

Rugged & Portable Design: The Tremor's rugged construction and IPX5 splashproof rating protects it against water, dust, sand, & snow. Its portable design and sturdy shoulder-strap makes it the perfect outdoor activity speaker on the go.

Note: The Tremor is splashproof, not waterproof. It cannot be submerged in water.

Passive Radiator Speaker System: The Dreamwave Audio Tremor Bluetooth speaker is equipped with two tweeters and two full-range drivers powered by a built-in 30W HiFi digital amplifier with anti-distortion circuitry for full, rich, clear sound. The Tremor also employs dual passive radiators for even bigger bass response.

Built-In Bluetooth: The Dreamwave Audio Tremor features built-in Bluetooth (version 4.0+EDR), so you can wireless connect to your Bluetooth-enabled Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Windows Phone/PC, Mac computer/laptop, or other Bluetooth source devices. The Tremor supports Bluetooth music streaming (A2DP/AVRCP) w/ aptX, as well as a simple secure pairing (SSP) & Near Field Communication (NFC)

  • Wireless Audio Streaming w/ aptX: The Tremor can stream music wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled device; such as your smartphone, tablet, computer, laptop, or other device. You'll be able to control Play & Pause functions from the Tremor. You will need to continue to use your Bluetooth-enabled device for advanced music navigation and to view song/artist information. In addition to support for Bluetooth's standard SBC codec, the Tremor offers compatibility with aptX for "CD-quality" like sound from compatible Android (OS 4.0+) devices.
  • SSP & NFC: With Simple Secure Pairing (SSP), a single button press pairs your Bluetooth-enabled device with the  Tremor; no complicated PIN to enter. Android (OS 4.0+) smartphones & tablets that have Near Field Communication (NFC) pair simply by touching the Android device to the unit's NFC tag.

Note: This Bluetooth speaker does not support Hands-Free Phone Communication. Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Dreamwave Audio Tremor.

Dual Speaker Pairing: You can pair two Dreamwave Audio Tremor speakers together via Bluetooth to double the sound output.

Aux Input: In addition to wireless Bluetooth connectivity, the Tremor is fitted with a 3.5mm Aux input for directly connecting an external portable audio device that features an analog output or headphone jack.

USB Charging Port: The Tremor is capable of recharging the battery of your Bluetooth-enabled device from the speaker's built-in USB-A (5V/1A) port. Now you don't need to carry an extra charger to keep your devices powered up. This USB port does not support audio playback.

Rechargeable Battery: The Dreamwave Audio Tremor is powered by a built-in, rechargeable lithium battery (20,800mAh) that provides up to 18 hours of continuous playback time at moderate volume levels or only 8 hours at max volume. The battery can be recharged using the included AC power adapter.

Hey Sarah. That is a great question, and we don't have an exact answer. The guidelines can differ between different airlines so the best bet is to reach out to your local airport (or a specific airline if there is one you regularly use) to be sure. [ Jeff  Sep 21, 2017 ]  Staff
We only have the preliminary specifications available from DreamWave on their Tremor speaker right now and the only battery info they provided indicates the built-in rechargeable battery lasts up to 15 hours and it has a capacity of 20800mAh. As soon as our in-house product researchers have a chance to hand-measure the specs, parts and accessories, we will post that information directly to our website; so please check back with us in the near future for further updates. I hope that helps. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=159 [ Larry  May 25, 2016 ]  Staff
