Wet Sounds XS-650-S

Built tough for marine applications

Sound + style

Wet Sounds XS-650 marine speakers give you the sound you crave and the style you like. The bold grille makes a powerful statement, while the 6-1/2" composite woofers and titanium tweeters give you powerful sound that cuts through wind and engine noise.

Made for life on the water

These Wet Sounds speakers aren't just for show, though. They're made for marine use, with strong, durable Nylas™ (a combination of nylon and fiberglass) speaker frames and grilles that are tough enough to withstand the rigors of life on the water. Durable, pliable rubber is used on the spiders, the speaker surrounds, and the protective magnet boot to keep moisture and corrosion from ruining the party. The tweeter's even mounted directly to the grille, eliminating any chance of water getting into the woofer's interior.

These speakers are built for boating, but they're also a great choice if you're outfitting an off-road vehicle that sees frequent use in muddy, dirty, and wet conditions.

Product Highlights:

  • 2-way 6-1/2" marine speakers (pair)
  • composite cone woofer with durable rubber surround
  • titanium tweeter mounted in grille
  • rugged Nylas™ (nylon/fiberglass) frame
  • power range: 6-100 watts RMS (200 watts peak)
  • frequency response: 40-22,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 90 dB
  • top-mount depth: 2-15/16"
  • warranty: 2 years
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Perfect for the boat.

Best bang for your buck on earth!

Joey from Rio vista, CA on 7/19/2017

They will litteraly fill up your boat with sound, and you will be in shock as to how loud and clear a speaker that size could ever get!! I have 12 WS 6.5s in my 30' boat and i mean it sounds incredible and as loud as the boats with the big bulky tower speakers!!

Pros: Looks great, sound is ear piercing loud without distortion ever!

Cons: Need a good amp to run them, i bought a wet sounds HTX6 to run all 12 6.5" speakers in 2 ohms! Worth every penny, but is a battery killer

Replaced some Kenwoods that came in a package deal, the receiver still great but one of the speakers blew out after about year and half on my 21 Contender. Super easy swap out. These speakers are obviously built for more rugged abuse, sound great!

AMAZING product! The construction and quality is better than any factory marine speaker I've seen. For the money, better than any aftermarket too. Sounds great with just radio power, but incredible with full RMS amp power.

Pros: Massive power handling, heavy duty surround and construction, clear sound and tight bass

Cons: Too many women in the boat thanks to a noticeable sound system

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Wet Sounds XS-650's have a great look, sound and were easy to install. Installed 6 speakers in 21' open air runabout and sound was crisp, clear and awesome even at cruising speed. Installation was easy (four screw and plugging in of two wires) and the old JBL speakers are no match to Wet Sounds speakers. Excellent description on Crutchfield site, along with ease in ordering delivery and customer service. Top notch.

Pros: Great Sound, Bass Has Deep Tone, Easy Installation & Hook-up, Great Sound For Price, Crutchfield's Ordering Process/Reviews/Customer Service.

Cons: None.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Received very quickly as a is typical of Crutchfield. Well built. Replaced stock 8 year old Sony speakers and the sound is somewhat tinny. I probably need an amplifier and new receiver to push these to their potential. Would therefore recommend anyone who buys these HEAVY speakers to do so.

Pros: Well built. Easy install. Quality product.

Cons: Would recommend pairing with a sub woofer and amp

Wet Sounds XS-650-S

Thomas from Augusta, GA on 3/28/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

if you're looking for a marine/RV speaker that satisfies...then the Wet Sounds XS-650 is your first choice. The titanium tweeter produces a fairly bright sound, and the bass response is deep enough to balance out the brightness of the tweeter. The speaker is built tough to survive years in an outdoor environment and the warranty will cover anything that might be a manufacturing defect. Looking forward to great sound for years to come.

Pros: This speaker can get loud very quickly and has a good bass response for a coaxial speaker.

Cons: The tweeter seems almost too bright.

Great mid-range marine speakers!

These look awesome and are built very well. I haven't hooked them up yet but if build quality is any indication then they will rock.

Pros: Build Quality, Design

Cons: I wish they were offered in a chrome colored cover.

Great speakers

Texas boater from Texas on 8/1/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My 2007 24' boat came standard with 4 speakers. I replaced the Clarion speakers that were original with the boat with XS-650's and paired them with the Wet Sounds HT-6 amp. The last 2 channels are for the tower speakers that are next. However, just changing out the speakers and adding the amp has really improved the sound on the boat. These speakers have great mid-range bass, although I think a sub would be an improvement, they at least carry the lower notes. Huge improvement from the factory speakers.

Pros: Great sound - high and low

Cons: Larger driver (which is a pro) caused some difficulty fitting in existing holes.

Hands down can't be beat

Wet sounds make the best marine products period! Put 6 of these in my boat. Paired with 2 rev410 on SD series amps. Setup is amazing. If you want to be one of the clearest loudest boats pick these over the other options.

Pros: Loud, great quality

Cons: Expensive

They are rated for up to 100 watts RMS and have a mounting depth of 3.1". We'll be adding this information to our "Overview" tab on the speaker's main webpage in the near future. I hope that helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan  Jun 15, 2017 ]  Staff
There is no external crossover to mount but the built-in tweeter is high-passed. Hope that helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan  Apr 01, 2017 ]  Staff
The tweeter is conformed into the grill yes, so here's the sum of it all if it is the grill you wish to remove it can be done by removing the screws on backside but the tweeter will be removed as well :( [ Chris  May 26, 2016 ]
Yes, the grill can be removed with a small Phillips head screw driver. There are roughly 5-6 screws on backside of the grill. Hope this helps with the question [ Chris  May 26, 2016 ]
I do not believe the grill comes off. The tweeter is mounted to it [ John  May 25, 2016 ]
No. It is part of the assembly of the speaker. Plus, it's wetsounds...show them off! [ Jon  May 25, 2016 ]
