Works great but design could be much better.
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Overall, I would rate it at 3.5 stars but you can't select that. I just hooked it up and it appears to meet my needs so it will remain. But the overall design could be much better. Poor design. Input jacks are on one side (relative to facing) and the IR sensor and output jack is on the other side. Power in the rear. This means the unit cannot be easily placed next to other units. If you want the selector lights pointing forward, that means the IR sensor is on the side. Plus the IR sensor has difficulty picking up signals from just 8-10 feet away. With input and output jacks on the side, you have cables running from each side. All jacks (input/output) should be in the rear. Come'on...really? I use heavier optical cables which just compounds the issue. Plastic case. For the price, it should be metal. I took the risk to pay a much higher price than many switches on other online sites. But those reviews were mixed on reliability. I'm hoping by paying more I'm getting better quality. But we all know how that goes :-) Time will tell. But initial results are encouraging.
Pros: switch works as expected Remote works as expected
Cons: IR sensor on the side. Difficulty detecting signals from as close as 8 feet away. Input jacks on one side and output jack on the opposite side. All jacks should be in the rear.
